Good morning sunshine 🌞. Life is good here but poor Randy-Man had a knee revision at 8 o’clock. Dawn said they were back home by 9:30 and he’s in extreme pain. 😱 Scar tissue formed at the top of his knee and he couldn’t bend it more than 80 degrees. Well, the surgeon bent it alright; probably kicked Randy’s butt in the process. (Mark watched a video of it last night on YouTube and it was pretty brutal.)

Dawn phoned at 10 o’clock as she was on her way to pick up pain medicine for Randy. He’s taking 800 mg of ibuprofen as well as a heavy duty pain medicine. Right now he is flat on his back in bed, but Dawn has to get him up moving today as score tissue could settle in quickly again! Monday is Labor Day and a holiday so Randy will not start his therapy until Tuesday. 😳

OH EM GEE

In other news, it’s Ancient Alien day so my telly will be on all day while I’m doing my chores. πŸ‘½πŸ˜¬ Mark is doing odds and sods around our place today. There are weeds to be tamed, dogs bathed, boat started, RV dehumidifier emptied, and vacuuming. Yes, that’s the way our Fridays roll. I just made a new batch of banana frosty paws for the kids, so it’ll be a good happy hour for them!

Happy Labor Day y’all ...

We spent our afternoon at the pool with Robbie and BeeZee. They both had a swim with their HedsUp on. It wasn’t hot outside so they were content to cool off once or twice and gallop around the pool deck just having fun. Us? We floated about on Funnoodles and sipped wine.

Thursday August 30, 2018

Good morning. Yes, you will soon get sick of me saying this but it is a bright beautiful sunshiny morning with 74°. Autumn is just around the corner! (I know, I know! Our Northern family and friends wish summer would linger.) Actually, it’s rather strange because heat records are being broken all over the north east United States with temperatures to πŸ’―! WOWSA! The extreme heat doesn’t come in to Florida ... something to do with the prevailing winds and jet stream.

My morning began cooking a big sweet potato batch for the doggies while Mark wrestled 3 big trash cans full of chainlink fencing to the curb. I found a $4 off coupon for Crown Royal πŸ‘‘...so that’s on our to do list. 😜

Tonight, Randy and Dawn are coming for a pizza πŸ• PARTAY!

Well ... there wasn’t much party spirit tonight as Randy had bad news at the knee surgeon. The knee replacement itself is fine but Randy’s not able to bend it more than 80 degrees (he should be 90 by now.) So, 7:30 tomorrow morning Randy gets put under again and his knee will be manually manipulated to break up the impingement. 😱 Dawn managed another 2 weeks off work to care for and drive Randy to DAILY therapy. Oh boy!

Wednesday, August 29, 2018

Good morning. It’s a bright beautiful sunshiny day and it was just 77° this morning! That means in another few weeks we can begin our day with the front door open. Yippee ki yay πŸ˜ƒ! (Sue reported it was down to 7°C at the lake this morning. In American, that’s about 45°.)

Hahaha ... I sent this to Randy this morning. He has had a couple of Boston Terriers in his life and I thought this was pretty funny!

So, I begin my morning by opening email and discovering a note from a cousin, who previously I did not know existed, who is related through my aunt Jessie, my dad’s sister, who we thought had died in 1960. Well, it turns out this is her grave stone and we were all wrong.

Now, I feel terrible that I could have known her and had a relationship with her.

Tonight we are going with Rose & Jim to the whales tale in Mount Dora for dinner.

Dinner was good; I like the very light batter on their food but tonight I ordered blackened scallops ‘n fries  πŸ˜‹ Mark had fish ‘n red potatoes ‘n beans. Good food, freshly cooked. After eating Rose and Jim came for drinks, cigars on the porch and to watch the TV special on Tavares. We had a very nice evening. They’re happy to have some doggie attention; still missing their Yorkie, Jazz.

It was nice and cool on the front porch tonight, 72°. Mark and I sat out after Rose & Jim went home and enjoy the evening longer.

Tuesday, August 28, 2018

Good evening. Our Wi-Fi has been very slow today with thunderstorms in the area. Compared to Kenora, we have nothing to squawk about. Mark and I sat on the porch and had happy hour at 4:30 and it was 78°. The dogs had their frosty paws treats but lightning eventually chased us inside. The rain moved in and it poured for an hour.

Sue and Wayne sent this picture of the cold wet day at  Kenora. That is the helicopter at the hospital.

Yikes! It’s time to head south! It looks like fall is moving in!

I worked on crafting a necklace set and then ancestry updates. Mark worked three hours for Marky Mark and now all the fence across the front of the property is down and rolled up ready for trash. What a difference that has made. We sit on the porch and swear we can see the new trees growing. πŸ˜…

This fence has been consumed by the oak tree! 😳

Looking toward the 2nd house from the far corner! πŸ‘πŸ»

Tonight, whipped up his version of shrimp scampi. It was pretty good considering a first try. After dinner we had to begin cooking for the dogs. I made their vegetables and potatoes and Mark is cooking their ground turkey for this week. They sure are lucky puppies these days. Speaking of lucky, I took them for a long golf cart ride this morning. When we got home they were very hot. I guess they don’t get as much air moving as I do in the front. I must keep that in mind.

Our favorite shows are on tonight, deadliest catch and below deck.

Monday, August 27, 2018

Good afternoon. It’s been another busy day. Mark went to Lowe’s to pick up insulation for the garage door. In the mornings when I am working on my eBay, the garage door gets pretty warm with the sun beating on it. So, I put it on the list a few days ago and behold it is done. Why didn’t I think of this a few years ago? Ha ha, isn’t that how life goes. So, tomorrow when I’m up early and working out there it will be extra cool. We’ve always had the air conditioner in my craft/garage room but it won’t have to work as hard now.

I’ve still been working on Ancestry and most problems have been ironed out. But, I still have one sticky wicket to deal with. My cousin Hugh in Australia has information that appears to show his parents name matches my great grandparents name. It seems in the old days everybody reused first names so that in every branch of the tree we have Henry, James, William, Hugh, you get the idea. 😳 So Hugh’s grandfather’s birthday was 13 August 1877 and he died in 1952. Our branch - born 20th of August 1875 and died in 1954. Similar, but not the same person. They share the same name, first and last, and they both married woman by the name of Jane! C’mon, give me a clue!!! When I talked to Hugh, he remembered his grandmother being called “Jenny.” Well, that might be a great clue except that ours is listed as nickname “Jennie.” πŸ™„

Here’s a flashback photo ...

Diane’s pulling the cart (nice hat!) ... Linda’s looking bored with it all LOL and I’m in the garden cart with cousin Donna Pirie (at rear.) We were having Fun! I remember this day like yesterday, the crispy dry grass and smell of a hot summer day.

Anyway, Mark is now gone grocery shopping and Dawn called to invite us for dinner tonight. Perhaps tonight we will actually play some dominoes. Yesterday, they went to visit Brittany and the kids and took dinner over. So it sounds like they had a busy day. πŸ‘πŸ»

We arrived at Randy & Dawn‘s at 5:30 and had a happy hour there. Robbie and BeeZee ran around the porch looking for cats and rats and elephants! πŸ˜‚ They didn’t find anything, but they sure looked. LOL

Dawn made her delicious seafood dip with Ritz crackers and a vegetable cruditΓ©s for snacks. Her dad, Chuck, passed a recipe onto her for homemade barbecue sauce. It is terrific and we had it on the chicken tonight! Dinner was good and we followed up with a rousing game of Mexican dominoes. Eventually, Mark was the big winner. What a fun night!

Sunday, August 26, 2018

Good afternoon. Somehow, it’s been an extremely busy day around our place. After breakfast I listed the new items I made on eBay while Mark worked across the street ... then on his golf cart trailer project.

Now we’re both relaxing with Robbie and BeeZee who are having a lazy Sunday.

I just heard from Michael Wills that a mass shooting is taking place in Jacksonville now! What the hell?

We had a fun happy hour on the porch ... frosty paws, Cheddar Bay biscuits plus gin ‘n tonic. It sure was lovely sitting out. 84F Schweeet. We walked at 8 o’clock ... quite nice.

Saturday, August 25, 2018

Good morning. Well, I slept in an hour after Mark and when I got up he had mushrooms and eggs all cooked up for our breakfast. Awesome. It’s going to be a good foodie kind of day. We have a lobster pizza for our lunch. πŸ˜‹

Today I am setting aside working on the family tree in favor of creating some jewelry pieces. I guess the recent sale got me motivated. Mark is going to take down some more wire fencing across the street. Other than that, it’s just going to be a quiet, at home Saturday. Of course the doggies will get a ride on the Caddy later.

This is the rather big house going up at the end of Calla.

It’s now 630 and the dogs have had a ride on the golf cart, Mark worked, we had big ginormous burgers for dinner and now we’re waiting for Randy & Dawn to arrive to play Mexican dominoes. They’re late, and the dogs have been looking out the window for nearly an hour. Haha.

There was a good program on TV about Tavares being the seaplane capital of America. Mark and I had seen it about a month ago but saved it to show Randy & Dawn. It’s really fascinating all the firsts Tavares accomplished! So we had a couple of Crown or wine or gin and yakked. It was just a very nice evening. They left for home about 1015. Now, Ms. B and I are watching Ancient Aliens πŸ‘½πŸ˜³

Sue and Wayne arrived back at their cottage from their visit in Winnipeg. They had stopped by to see Darlene and came home with plenty of food to last them a week. ❤️

That’s it. It’s 1115 and my favorite History show is on.

Friday, August 24, 2018

Good morning! It’s a muggy start to our Friday. Yuck! It’s 86 at 11:30 and climbing to 90. Never mind, it’s house cleaning morning inside. The A/C is cranking and we’re getting it done!

This evening we’re meeting aunt Jane at Red Lobster. She turned 87 last Monday; today’s our birthday pressie to her ... dinner out. (I remember my mom would enjoy getting out with family more than anything.)

Whew, we’re stuffed! Dinner was great and a very nice  server, Donna. The rewards program we have at RL is pretty good ... a lobster pizza for our lunch tomorrow. Schweeet. Jane enjoyed herself but we wished she would have let us pick her up; she’s none too steady with her cane! Yikes. Anyway, Jane got home okay and phoned us. Next month she’s off to Buffalo for a family wedding and wee BoBo is going to a pet lodge. We sure hope he’ll be okay there.

Sue and Wayne are in Winnipeg tonight, dancing. Les and Lynne are dog sitting for them. They look like they’re doing very well and are (we hear) enjoying having their boat at the Royal Manitoba Yacht Club.

Dinner looks good too! Party on. ❤️

Thursday, August 23, 2018

Good morning. Although it’s still early, it looks like it could be a cooler day! Mark was up and off to the forest at 7 o’clock. His plan is to set up a game camera to see what’s moving in the woods at this time year.

Well, I had a small sale on eBay! Yay 😁 ... hopefully that’s the start of a great fall season. I’m back to working on MyHeritage ... I find it interesting and relaxing. When my phone needed charging I joined Mark and the kids in the living room. You’d think I’d been out of town for a week! πŸ˜‚ Both Robbie and BeeZee jumped onto my chair to sit with me. Silly Scotties.

Today is 4 years since my sister Linda passed away. She is remembered every day in everything we do. Tonight Mark and I are picking up Stavros pizzas to take to Randy and Dawn for dinner. We will have a toast to Linda’s memory. πŸ’”

It’s now 11:45 and we are home after a rousing game of rummy. Mark was the winner, with many rule changes along the way as we read up on what we were doing wrong. Ha ha. I think it’s back to dominoes after this! Playing two handed Rummy is much faster. Anyway, it was good to test our brains and do something different. Randy & Dawn had made a terrific seafood dip with crackers. We sat in the living room for an hour and yakked and drink wine. Stavros Pizza is were very good and then we sat outside for an hour while the doggies ran around the porch.

Rummy begins!

Sue and Wayne are out this evening at Bruce and Heather‘s for dinner. The dogs are very lucky that they have Gavin and Kyle staying with them. πŸΎπŸ’•

Randy was walking tonight without a cane, doing much much better.

So that’s our news for tonight. We hope you all had a good Thursday.

Wednesday, August 22, 2018

Good morning. It’s not even 7 AM and Mark’s loading Randy’s truck for another run to the dump! I’m up too!  I guess we’re just a couple of early birds today!

Yesterday a whole box of goodies arrived for my eBay business ... RedJulieGale2 ... and had to be sorted and put away. No, I’ve got the first bag of new beads out and have begun work on a necklace. Meanwhile, Mark is in the backyard working on his treasure ...

The old tilt trailer has it’s tilt working again! Now that’s a happy putterer. πŸ˜…

New tires and rims ... a new jack ... and plenty of rust! 😱

An hour later Mark had to come in ... a thunderstorm rolled in so it was nap time. Haha. What a life! It was nice on the porch for happy hour ... then a golf cart ride with the Scotties.

Randy had a good therapy session today and made more progress on bending his knee. It’s still swollen ... and bruised! We’ll see them tomorrow for dinner and dominoes.

Sue and Wayne have Gavin and Kyle at the cottage this week! Lucky guys! Sue and I had a gab today and caught up on news.

Julius is happy sitting next to Kyle. πŸΎπŸ’•

Tuesday, August 21, 2018

Good morning. After breakfast, I began working on my genealogy files on myheritage.com and I’m a bit annoyed. 10 years ago when I began, I’d be able to find loads of information just by using Google. Now it seems Google has buried this information and I must buy it through one of the genealogy companies! I guess freedom of information isn’t necessarily free. 🀨

We had a recall of sorts on our Kia. It wasn’t anything mandatory, but if we brought it in for repair we would have a lifetime warranty on this particular engine issue. So, Mark took an hour or two out of his day and took it over to the dealership. He’s also stopping by Lowe’s for some black paint to work on his new golf cart trailer project. (I posted some pictures about a month ago with buried to the axles!)

A ginormous bead order arrived today from Fire πŸ”₯Mountain which Meant I had to catalog each item and check it against my order. It’s a darn good thing I did as three items were missing. I found the company and they will get them out to me right away.

Randy & Dawn phoned and were sitting on their deck enjoying wine this evening. We had just come in from our happy hour on the front porch. It was pretty warm during the day, but a nice breeze this evening. No rain in sight. Robbie and BeeZee enjoyed frosty paws on the front porch. Lovely!

Mark plans to work a little tomorrow morning and take a load of brush to the dump. Then he will switch vehicles with Randy and take Da Mounty to the woods to scout some hunting areas. (R ‘n R in the woods.) 🌲 🌳

Here’s the latest pic of my London cousins! Yup, they’re a large family!

Linford, bottom left, moved to Sydney, Australia last night!

Monday, August 20, 2018

Good morning. Mark was up extra early to do some work across the street. He loaded up branches that he had trimmed around the roofline on Saturday and took them to the dump. What an early bird! The dogs and I had a slightly more leisurely morning with watering plants and getting breakfast done. It was in the 70s this morning, but forecast be 88 later today.

It’s aunt Jane‘s 87th birthday today and we are meeting her and friends for dinner tonight at BayTree golf course’s restaurant. (We’re taking her to Red Lobster this weekend to celebrate.) πŸ₯‚πŸΎπŸŽ‚

There were 20+ friends there to celebrate. Dinner was good; lots of hip stories. 😜

Lani and Mark got home safely in 24 hours! They pretty much drive straight through. 😱 Hopefully they’ll be back for good by Christmas.

Sunday, August 19, 2018

Good afternoon! It’s a lovely 90F on the lake today. Rain’s in the forecast for this week so today’s the best for taking the kids for a cruise.

BeeZee and Mark. It’s a lovely afternoon, low humidity and a bit of a breeze!

Robbie ... keeping a watch on the captain! πŸ’•πŸΎ

Lani and Mark left for Toronto at 4:15 ... usually a straight drive through. Ol’ Jake is feeling good ... hope he continues to improve. (We think he was missing Lani when she was at her dad’s for 4 nights!)

This afternoon I’m working on the family tree ... plenty to update.

Only old smart folks will understand this joke. 😜

Thunderstorms are moving in πŸ˜€ ... πŸ‘πŸ» ... ta ta til tomorrow.

Saturday, August 18, 2018

Saturday, August 18, 2018

Good day! Mark snuck out of the house early to help Marky-Mark tarp the roof. A new roof is “in the works” for next July, the soonest available.

This afternoon we’re going for lunch with Lani and Marky-Mark by boat to Hurricane’s.

It was a great boat ride and a fun time. We’re still laughing about their “border” story ... “It’s my Dad!”

When we got home everyone was burned-out so it was nap time and we reconvened at 6 for a pool party. It was a super-duper day.

We checked in on Randy and were happy he’s feeling better tonight; still aching, but not nauseated. πŸ‘πŸ» Dawn cooked a nice dinner for them and they were settled into a good movie. ✅

That was our day ... tomorrow we’ll do fun stuff for Robbie and BeeZee. It was a ruff day for them. πŸ™„

Friday, August 17, 2018

Friday, August 17, 2018

Hello πŸ‘‹ ... what’s up at your house! We’ve been puttering about today getting the house ready for a partay tonight. It was cleaning day anyway. 🀷‍♀️ So, tonight we’re meeting at the Crazy Gator for fish fry then coming here for champagne (Karen & Pete’s 43rd Anniversary) and Key Lime pie. RanDawn are joining us for Mexican Dominoes night.

So I have a funny story for you regarding the US/Canada border. When Lani and Marky-Mark came across last week, an officer questioned them. He asked “what’s in the car topper?” Marky Mark swallowed and got ready to pull over and get searched when Lani leaned across the seat and said “oh, it’s my father.” OMG! Marky-Mark laughed and said to Lani “he asked what’s in the car topper!” (not the reason for our trip.) Well, by this time all three of them were laughing. Anyway, they got through customs with no further incident and spent the next hour laughing about it.

Well, Randy it’s not feeling very well after his therapy so they are going to skip dinner and just come over for dominoes after he’s had a rest.

The Crazy Gator has new furniture! Yay! Dinner was very good ... then we were off to play dominoes!

Randy & Dawn arrived and played nearly the whole game. Poor Randy was not feeling good tonight, very nauseous and sore. Played as long as he could. Karen & Pete stayed and finished out the game, lots of laughs.

It was a good evening!

Sue and Wayne were at a dog party tonight at a new “cottage” ... and we bet it is gorgeous.

Thursday, August 16, 2018

Thursday, August 16, 2018

Good morning y’all, it’s a worky Thursday at our house! Mark took a load of brush to the dump, picked up a bottle of champagne for an anniversary toast to Karen & Pete, shopped Rural King for 2 more golf cart tires then came home for lunch. What a guy! ❤️

Me? I cooked food for the doggies, made two necklace sets for eBay, washed a load of doggie things and unpacked the groceries. It was such a busy day that we missed happy hour! 😱

Lani and Marky-Mark planted MORE trees and shrubs. Wow, the yard is really going to be something! They are hard workers.

Our afternoon nap πŸ’€ slipped over into happy hour! Ha! It was nice to sit on the porch with our wine and watch the plants growing across the street. We made plans to go boating Saturday with Lani and Marky-Mark. It’ll be an lunch cruise.

Tomorrow we’re meeting Karen, Pete, Dawn and Randy for fish fry ... then dominoes here after.

It’s nearly 11 o’clock now and we’re watching the last Alone and betting on who wins.

Did you see the funny cat on Facebook? It’s hilarious ... have a look on our page; this pic will give you an idea. Haha.

Wednesday, August 15, 2018

Good morning 🌞 ... it’s going to be another BUSY day!

Mark’s taking the day off from Marky-Mark’s project and plans to give fuzzy-wuzzy Robbie and BeeZee pedicures, hair cuts and bathes. Oh my, what a schedule for his “day off.” 😱

Me? I’m a driver for today’s luncheon at Tillie’s ... picking up Rose and Deenna. I missed the past 2 so must go have fun with my peeps. There’ll be a stop in Peddler’s Wagon after! πŸ’°πŸ˜œ

Nineteen ladies at lunch today! That’s a big group for summertime!

Sharon arrived after the pic was taken ... so 20 lunchers today!

Tonight, Dawn is cooking dinner for us all rather than going to Tiki West. Then, it’s a half-game of Mexican Dominoes! Yay.

Sue and I finally had a chance to talk today and catch up on news. We heard about their upcoming trip to the Newmar plant in Indiana. They plan to meet up with Tony and Aurelia for a few days on their way home. T and A have plans to visit Amish country. πŸ‘πŸ»

Well it’s now 10 o’clock and we’re on our way home after a rousing game of Mexican dominoes. Mark won  but no new records were sent. Dawn had everything prepared and Randy cooked the dinner. We had fried fish, scallops, broccoli ‘n cheese, and rice. Dawn made her special deviled eggs and we brought shrimp and cocktail sauce so it was pretty darn good appetizers and dinner. Randy’s obviously doing much better to be able to cook and sit through an entire game of dominoes! Mz Bee stood up to visit Randy twice which gave him a jolt. Oopsie.

Tuesday, August 14, 2018

Tuesday, August 14, 2018

Good morning. Mark was up early and off to the dump with a load of brush ... then shopping for more palm trees for Marky-Mark‘s place. The doggies and I slept in until 730.

The kids in our area are back to school today. I’m sure there are a lot of relieved parents. Ha ha. I sure remember my mom celebrated when we kids were back to school after summer holidays. πŸ™„

Today Anita is hosting game day at her house. πŸ‘πŸ» Weather permitting, I am picking up Rose on the golf cart and we are heading over at 1 o’clock.

After lunch, Mark left for the dump and to pick up more plants with Marky Mark. There’s going to be a virtual forest across the street again. Ha ha ha, but this time with beautiful trees. 😜

Game Day was fun at Anita’s. Her puppy Finn is a darling, now 10 months old. He sat in a chair at the domino table and stood up to watch. πŸ’•πŸΎ (Sister Lucy hides from him. πŸ˜’)  There were just 5 gamers today; everyone else away on vacation, doctor appointments and election business. But, we had fun ... and Finn. 😜

When I came home I took the kids for a ride on The Caddy and Robbie barked at the 3 flocks of Ibis on 3 different streets! It was cloudy and coolish before this evening’s rain.

Mark’s cooking us steaks for tonight with veggies. I’m ready. πŸ˜‹

Here’s how the property looks now ...

Before (blood, swear & tears!) ...

Sue and Wayne are at 908 Westside for their dinner tonight. (Food is delish there!)

Tomorrow is our ladies luncheon ... then in the evening we’re going to RanDawn’s for dinner and dominoes. πŸ˜‹ It’s still uncomfortable for Randy to sit for long!  The Scotties are getting haircuts and baths before we take them visiting!

Deadliest Catch is on now so Ta Ta. 😘

Monday, August 13, 2018

Monday, August 13, 2018

Good morning. I was up early, awoken by hunger pangs. After a rice cake and cheese whiz, I went back to bed and slept until 915. OMG, that’s not like me. Meanwhile, Mark was up at 7:30 and took the dogs for a walk. He and Marky-Mark are going to pick up Randy’s truck and buy some palm trees at Yard Stop to plant at his project house across the street.

Me? I have more jewelry to make for the GRW homeless veterans raffle at the rally this year. So far so good. I have made five sets of necklace and earrings to stash in the travel case I bought last week.

The Scotties and I sat on the front porch for a few minutes this afternoon watching all the new palms going in across the street. Two Washintonians, two Queens, a Chinese Fan, plus some I don’t know. It’s really improving our porch view! 😜

Aunt Jane is hosting a birthday dinner for herself next week at a local restaurant and we’re invited. Nice! What the heck can we get her? Mark thought a restaurant card for Olive Garden. Good idea.

Tomorrow is Game Day at Anita’s ... I’m picking Rose up on The Caddy; hope it doesn’t rain. Ha.

Sunday, August 12, 2018

Sunday, August 12, 2018

Good morning! How do Robbie and BeeZee know it’s Sunday? It’s the only day of the week when they want to get onto our bed! So, there we were with Robs at the foot of our bed and BeeZee sprawled across the middle. πŸΎπŸ’• A great start to our day.

Today’s fun will be dinner on the dock at Palm Gardens with Lani and Marky-Mark, Dawn and Randy and us. It’s too warm for the dogs onboard I think so they’ll hold the fort at home.

Sue and Wayne have friends Aurelia, Tony and Chessie staying in their motor home for the weekend. They’re out to Yesterday’s for breakfast now.

So RanDawn phoned at 3 o’clock having heard thunder at their home (south of us.) Mark and I checked our radar apps and thought we’d best drive to Fish Camp or Crazy Gators instead of boating. At 4 o’clock Lani and Marky-Mark arrived. We checked the radar and the storm was evaporating; common around our Harris Chain of Lakes. This storm dried up halfway across Lake Eustis. So ... the boat ride was back on!

Dawn, Randy, Marky-Mark, Lani, Mark and mostly my finger. πŸ˜‚

We had a good dinner and a round of drinks. About 530 we heard a little thunder off in the distance and checked the radar. It looked like the rain would be very light but the bulk of the storm was south and was going to miss us again. We decided to wait it out and sat on the boat for 20 minutes.

That’s Dawn, the only smart one to bring a jacket! πŸ€”

We skirted the storm all the way home but the lightening was pretty intense!

More wine was doled out and we sped up, hugging the shore, for home base. By the time we got there, everyone was pretty wet and chilled. Maybe? I had finally cooled down. 😎 Randy said that he had had so much fun he was going straight home. Ha ha ha. Actually, they have an early doctor appointment tomorrow.

Lani is going to Orlando to see her father tomorrow. They stayed for 1 more round after checking on old doggie Jake.

Saturday, August 11, 2018

Saturday, August 11, 2018

Good morning! It’s going to be a fun-filled day and a bit cooler too. Mark grocery shopped and prepped a big cooler of beer and wine for Lani and Marky-Mark’s arrival.

I’m working on jewelry to go with the travel case for GRW’s fund-raiser for Lake County’s homeless veterans. Raffle tickets will be sold for the many donations they receive. (Pictures when I’m finished!)

Charlotte’s birthday party is today! We’re going to meet everyone back at the house for opening gifts and cake. (It’s too long a day for our doggies if we joined them for the 4 o’clock dinner.) Robs and Beez are invited tonight.

Charlotte and Makenna ... the silly string was a hit ... but not with Randy. Haha.

Randy’s helping ... plenty of pressies in each bag!

Robbie checked every present ... he likes the kids!

Brandon Jr. joined in the fun. He’s 2 1/2 ... and yup the “active” two’s! Haha.

Three faces eyed the bright pink cake ... good choice Nannie; it was tasty.

Outside, the kids had fun with the silly string and burned off some steam.

Back home, we have some very tired doggies. πŸ’€

Friday, August 10, 2018

Friday, August 10, 2018

Good morning. We woke up to clouds and the threat of rain. Actually, that would be pretty darn nice. Mark went out early to wash the front of the rig and then put the sunscreen on the front RV port. Me? Well I started a load of laundry emptied the dishwasher and fed the dogs. We have no big plans today, as Mark wants to work across street for a few hours. We will call Randy and see if he is well enough to come for a visit. It’s a case of driving Mr. Daisy nowadays. Dawn is the driver and Randy sits in the backseat with his leg stretched out. Ha ha ha. Mr. Daisy!

I whipped up two necklace sets for donations to the homeless Veterans of Lake County for our VIP Rally. This year we’re donating a “basket” for the big raffle.

Our new neighbors and now friends Lani and Marky-Mark arrive tomorrow for a few days at their project property. They’ve invited us to dinner at Palm Gardens, Marky Mark’s favorite. We sure hope ol’ Jake enjoys the trip! (He’s 20+!) Weather permitting, we’ll go by boat.

We 4 had a nice happy hour on the front porch. It was 82F and breezy. Perfect. The Scotties had frosty paws plus cheese, a good snack. There’s a little more traffic on our street with construction at the end.

Rick M phoned and we had lots of laughs like we always do when we’re on FaceTime. It’s the next best thing to being there! It sure is Smokey there!!!!

Tomorrow, we’re meeting RanDawn and family at Chic Fil A for Charlotte’s 5th birthday. But right now it’s time for Alone.

Thursday, August 9, 2018

Good morning. It’s a nice bright sunny start to our day. We have a few things to accomplish, but it’s going to be mostly a putter around and enjoy summer.

Yesterday, Mark bought two new tires and rims for the golf cart. Today he installed them; then I took the dogs for a ride! 😎 I was amazed at the smooth ride the new tires delivered! Mark said the old tired were full of fix a flat from it’s fishcamp days. Ha ha. It was oozing fix a flat from all the cracks in the tires. πŸ˜‚ Anyway, the doggies were very happy to have their first ride on the golf cart since we got home from the RV trip.

After my chores were done I began work on some items for sale on eBay. And, I had a sale! Yippee. Things are moving again.

Mark has gone to his 2 o’clock chiropractor appointment and then for a stop at his favorite shop, the Home Depot. It seems we always need something.

Meanwhile, up north at the lake, Sue and Wayne are picking up the Windsorcraft at Northern Harbor. It seems that repair went pretty quick. Let’s hope all goes well on the ride home. (It did; they had a good ride back and were amazed at the number of cottages along the way now.)

It won’t be long til the mid-term elections! Of course you know how I like to move from one topic to ...

TRUMP. 🀣

We chatted with Rick M online today. The wildfires are close to them again this season ... and it’s been hot, 104F today. The picture of the new coach house looks nice.

It’s now 830 and we’re sitting on the front porch enjoying the 80° and a breeze. Humidity is quite low so it feels nice. There’s an air of mystique in the neighborhood with a work truck sitting at the end of the street where the new construction is going on. The truck has been sitting there since 10 this morning with the windows open and tools scattered about. So, Mark and I discussed it and called the local sheriff to come check it out. Hopefully no one went swimming in the canal to cool off. (A sheriff car arrived with 2 officers who looked around for 10 Minutes, then left.) As Mark noted, they didn’t check the outhouse!

Wednesday, August 8, 2018

Good morning from the late risers today! It’s 10 o’clock and we just finished our a.m. routine. Robbie is upside down with his leg on Mark’s chair and BeeZee’s on my lap. Twenty minutes of TV then it’s detail the Dodge day. Mark has a cab clearance light bulb to replace, then wash it while I’m in charge of the interior cleansing.

Today isn’t all jobs as we’re taking Rose and Jim to Red Lobster for dinner tonight. Lobster, yum πŸ˜‹ ... can’t wait.

Great picture of Roger showing Chief ... that’s a huge win! Well done guys. πŸΎπŸ’• (Mark and I babysat when Chief was just weeks old; wonderful, sweet disposition!)

So my new gadget arrived today. It’s a freebie as I used rewards bucks.

You can see that it is 77° inside with 51% humidity, 86.3 outside with 59% humidity and sunny. 😎

It’s 9:30 now and we’re home snuggling with the kids after their taste of Cheddar Bay biscuit. Dinner was really good ... lobster, scallops, shrimp and wine. Afterward we went into Rose & Jim’s for a nightcap and to see their new wall art. We had a nice evening.

Tonight the Perseid Meteor showers are highly visible ... I remember we watched from the dock at K’s cottage last summer.

Well, that’s it for tonight. More fun tomorrow.

Tuesday, August 7, 2018

Good morning! What a fun time we had with Randy and Dawn last night ... that may be why I’m so worn out now. Mark got right into his job across the street putting the pool back into shape. Now, while I’m at the dermatologist he’s washing the RV.  We just might get it parked later on.

It’s one of those “waiting” days. Fortunately I don’t have an infection, but lots of inflammation and redness from a nickle allergy. Platinum earrings is what the doc recommended. She phoned in a prescription to my Walgreens where I went and waited half an hour just to be notified it wasn’t in stock. So, I headed home and put on a dose of collodial silver as was also recommended by the dermatologist.

Here’s the picture the dermatologist took ... yup, my ear lobe is red and swollen and stings like a 🐝. Sorry for the crummy picture, I thought she was just taking an ear pic. Haha. What a mugshot.

When I got home, I loaded the Walmart odds ‘n ends in the rig then we parked it ... first try! Mark is really great at handling this big beast. 😜

We had a big salad for dinner and an hour later, wine and homemade burgers. Delish. I phoned RanDawn after dinner and they were as tired as me today. Randy’s doing his daily exercises so we know he’ll be better soon. Step by step, day by day. Dawn’s doing a great job keeping everything together and running smoothly while he recovers. πŸ‘πŸ»  (Mark remembers it wasn’t easy from my knee surgeries! πŸ™„)

Sue and Wayne had a nice day at the lake and took the doggies for a ride to Kenora. Larry F. arrived for a few days visit. He’s in the area to celebrate his 70th birthday with his daughter in Winnipeg. (The last time we saw him was with his wife Maggi (now divorced) a few years ago.)

Tonight, Mz BeeZee’s on my lap and Robbie at my feet. Life is good. We’re nearly back to normal after our fun trip.

Are you ready for some Elvis πŸ•ΊπŸŽΆ?

Ooohhhhhh ... 🀣 ... that’ll give ya nightmares.

Monday, August 6, 2018

This morning, we were up bright and early. It was hot, getting to 90° during the day. Mark took our eBay packages to the post office and gabbed with postmaster Sherry. (She likes to know what’s in all of the packages.) πŸ˜‚ After that, Mark went to Pep Boys and eventually got the Dodge truck tire patched ... free; with a $10 tip. (It was a roofing staple.)

While Mark was doing that, I vacuumed and cleaned the rig and put the clean sheets on the bed then emptied the rest of it. Other than lubeing the bearings, it’s pretty much ready for bed. Sweet.

Randy had therapy today but felt well enough for company tonight.  So, we went to Randy & Dawn‘s for a great chicken dinner. Dawn did all the cooking as Randy is still recuperating from his knee replacement surgery. She made stuffing stuffed chicken, cheesy cauliflower and rice. (Delicious!) Randy’s doing great just today using a cane to get around. Of course his knee is still swollen, it’s not three weeks yet. We sat on the back patio for an hour before dinner. He does periods of standing and sitting just to keep active. We had lots of shared stories and laughs.

Tomorrow, I have an appointment with the dermatologist about my ear lobes. Yes, they’re still red and itchy. Hopefully I will get more medication and a quick cure.
