Good foggy morning! No, we’re not foggy, the weather is! I’m hoping for a relaxing day until 6:30 when our partay starts with catered dinner, entertainment and, if we last til midnight, champagne.

Wine-glo 😜
Happy new year 🎊🎈

Sunday, December 30, 2018

Good morning! The rain woke me at 6 so I was up getting ready for a fun VIP camping day. At 4 o’clock we’re off on a Savannah tour and dinner at Paula Deen’s restaurant. It’s a group event so promises to be lots of fun!

After breakfast, we headed to Walgreens but discovered Walmart instead. Ha ha. That cost us about $60 extra. We found a few cute throw rugs to protect the chairs in the kitchen where the dogs are allowed to sit to look out the window. In this rig, they are not allowed on the leather furniture. So sorry kids.

At 4 o’clock Mark and I went with the group on a trolley tour of Savannah with pickup right at Creekfire. Our driver Phillip (British) was more than knowledgeable ... so many details. It was great. We were dropped off 2 1/2 hours later near Lady & Sons restaurant of Paula Deen’s. Our big group had the downstairs room ... and a big buffet dinner. My favorite was the pot roast! Mark was into the baked chicken. It was a fun time.

Back at the RV park, Karen & Pete came over for a nightcap on the porch. It was so nice sitting outside with the temperatures in the low 60s. We had to reminder ourselves that this is the end of December in coastal Georgia.

Saturday, December 29, 2018

Good morning! It’s going to be a high of 68F today and no rain forecast. Perfect. We’re taking Robbie and BeeZee with us for the ride.

Yeah, I forgot the new grooming tools! These two look like tenters! Heeheehee

Mark cooked us a big breakfast ... and we have turkey leftovers waiting for our lunch. 😜

We had lunch at the Crab Shack on Tybee Island. We’ve been before, just love the atmosphere. Robbie and BeeZee sat at the table too and got plenty of looks!

C’mon ... bring on the food. Arooo

We drove about the island then took the route home right through downtown Savannah. The streets were crowded with people.

Back at the RV, we sat outside and enjoy the afternoon with a cocktail. Robbie and Bee were so good just laying outside looking around. Nice day!

Tonight was open bar and desserts with entertainment by Shaboom ... singing and karaoke. It was fun. We were home by 10:30 for the kids. Fun day!

Friday, December 28, 2018

Good morning! It’s a cloudy start with rain forecast later today. We left home at 8:20 for our 251 mile drive.

At 11:25 we were through Jacksonville with 110 miles to go.

Congratulations and best wishes to Connie & Jack on their engagement.

We arrived and got into our site about 130. This is a nice clean RV resort! We are in Site 37.

Pete picked us up at 4:30 for happy hour and appetizers at Love’s on the Ocheegee River. The clam chowder was the best I’ve ever had. Mark enjoyed a seafood stew, also delicious. It was a fellow camper’s birthday and she wanted Oysters Rockefeller. Instead of staying there for dinner, the group of nine decided to go to Sorry Charlie’s in downtown Savannah for dinner. Since we were riding with Karen & Pete, away we went. It was about a 25 mile drive between the restaurants.

We had to wait a half hour for a table and decided on taking two smaller tables side-by-side. So that worked out fine. I had a flat bread with shrimp, peppers and cheese and it was awesome. It had a touch of Balsamic vinegar drizzled on top. Wow. Mark ordered a dish called Debris with fries ... again, very good.

On the way home, we nearly got broadsided at an intersection that Pete thought was a four-way stop. The next adventure was on the highway home when a car swerved to avoid a pedestrian, and nearly caused a wreck. There was a woman walking down the highway in a pink shirt in the rain! Obviously we were happy to get back to the campground with no further incidents.

Happy happy hour! πŸ€ͺ I rang the bell on the porch, but so far, it’s a party of one! The kids had a frosty paws and me, a wine in my new glass!

Egad, that’s an Archie-sized glass! 😜

Mark joined the party with wine 🍷 in hand. Marky-Mark came by walking Jake and Henri and will join us in half an hour!

This morning, I gave myself until 11 o’clock to pack up some of the Christmas. That was perfect as I got everything put away except for the two trees which are going to be redecorated in January. Our green tree needs a complete re-hall with lights so that means it’s time to revamp the entire decor.

At noon, I loaded up the RV ready for our Savannah New Year’s trip. Most of the RVers left today, but we had things to do. Tomorrow will be soon enough.

Randy called and he and Dawn are returning something at Gator Harley and will pop in here for a drink.

Well it’s 9 o’clock and our HH just ended. WTH ... well tomorrow’s another day.

Oh oh ... well there’s no such thing as too much fun. 😜

Wednesday, December 26, 2018

Good morning sunshine. It’s a beautiful morning as we get ready to go to Jeannie’s for breakfast at 9:30. Sue and Wayne were walking their dogs, so we sat on the front porch and began this blog. We certainly had a very good Christmas with dinner even on time! 😲

Lighting the candles ... Caesar salad at the right.

The chef at work!

Sue pouring my wine! Wayne taking pictures. πŸŽ…πŸΌ

Diane, Kris & Marky-Mark at the bar.

Randy and Dawn looking cute!

Sue and Wayne left around 1230 on their way to Stuart for the night. We had a great time with them here!

It’s a big one!

Tonight, we went to Karen & Pete‘s for happy hour and to see their Christmas decorations. Afterward, we went to Cedar River seafood for dinner. Randy & Dawn had joined in the fun and were with us. We had plenty of fun and closed down the restaurant. πŸ€ͺ

Tomorrow, we will load up our rig ready for Friday’s trip to Savannah. Dawn works tomorrow so it’s a school night for her. Karen & Pete leaves tomorrow for their trip to Savannah.

CHRISTMAS DAY 2018

Merry Christmas! It’s finally here! And yes, our Christmas tree looks like Santa found our house, no problem.

Mark is cooking a breakfast casserole for Sue, Wayne and us for 10 o’clock. Afterward, we’ll drink Prosecco Peach (champagne) and open pressies.

We’re holding the Scotties in this pic ...

but you can scarcely see Mz BeeZee!

While we waited for Sue and Wayne to come for breakfast (and with champagne) we phoned Rod and Shay. Everything is good with them and they had already had peppermint schnapps and hot chocolate on their front porch.

At 3 o’clock the fam-damily arrives with more packages and we’ll have adult beverages and more merriment.

(Mark and I will vanish bit by bit to put dishes into the oven.)

At 5 o’clock our new neighbor and friend Marky-Mark will join us for happier happy hour and Christmas dinner. (Lani is on her way to Miami for a visit with daughter Lauren.)

Mark and Mz BeeZee πŸΎπŸ’•

By 9 o’clock we will both be up to our elbows in dishes. Ho ho ho that’s Christmas.

CHRISTMAS EVE 2018

Good morning! We wish you a wonderful day and evening! Around here, we cook the turkey today ...

Here’s Mark expertly carving the turkey. We are well ahead of the game with the potatoes and dessert already made, too. Tomorrow, Diane, Kris, Randy & Dawn will arrive about 3 o’clock to open gifts. Then, it’ll be about 530 for dinner. Our friend Marky Mark is joining us for dinner.

Sue and Wayne came for drinks about 4 o’clock while Mark was preparing the dip and putting Darlene’s cabbage rolls into the oven. We took those to Randy & Dawn‘s tonight.

Dawn and Makenna having a quiet pause in action.

There was plenty of action, and a plethora of gifts for the grandchildren.

The fam-damily was included in the festivities too!

Wayne, Shorty and Sue at the dinner table.

Merry Christmas everyone! πŸŽ„❤️πŸŽ…πŸΌπŸ’‹⛄️πŸ₯‚πŸΎ⛪️

Sunday, December 23, 2018

Good morning. It was a chilly start to our beautiful sunshiny day. Mark, Lew and Benn went to the Ocala forest today. They saw plenty of wildlife and enjoyed themselves. Mark came home about 1030 and dug into his Christmas chores. Sue went shopping for a runner for their new RV while Wayne joined Mark for a grocery run for the last minute items.

Me? I baked my Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer cake, plus a triple chocolate Bundt cake and made the whipped garlic potatoes ready for the oven. I’m not sure if the house smells like cake or garlic right now. Ho ho ho. πŸŽ…πŸΌ

Randy & Dawn are at home cleaning for their big Christmas Eve gathering tomorrow night. As we all like to say, don’t clean until after the company leaves. But, we all do it. Mark offered to drop Robbie off over there to mop the floors. Ha!

πŸ’•πŸΎπŸ’•πŸΎπŸ’•πŸΎπŸ’•πŸΎπŸ’•πŸΎπŸ’•πŸΎπŸ’•πŸΎπŸ’•πŸΎ

After dinner of salad and leftovers we played a full game of Mexican Dominoes ... Mark was the winner. We had tons of fun ... lots of laughs. About 9:30 they went to walk their doggies.

Goofy fun!

Tomorrow’s a busy Christmas Eve. ❤️

Saturday, December 22, 2018

Good morning. It’s a bright sunny beautiful 45°F day. Brrrr ... it’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! Sue and Wayne will have the cool weather they like for driveway RVing. 😍

At 10:30 we picked up Lexi at Dr. Wilson’s office. She was pretty squirmy on the way home and as soon as Mark lifted her out of the Kia, she pooped. So, I guess not knowing the dog, we didn’t get the signals. Anyway, she was a very good girl.

Which one looks more nervous?

I thought Sue and Wayne were on the highway about the same time as Karen & Pete. However, Sue posted this picture and what do you see in the windshield?

Apparently the K’s are about as good as the Rogers for downsizing! Haha ... or should I say ho ho ho, it’s a Merry Christmas alright. 🎁 Congratulations! πŸ₯‚πŸΎ ... wish I had a bottle of bubbly on hand! πŸ€”

Sometimes silly things are the funniest ...

made me laugh!

Sue and Wayne arrived in time for happy hour. Their new rig is beautiful but they have some changes ordered that will better reflect their use. It’s schweet.

Now 730 and we are just home from dinner at Stavros. We saw Connor, and had lots of laughs. Dinner was good, plenty of leftovers for tomorrow’s lunch. After a regrouping, we played a half game of Mexican dominoes. Randy & Dawn phoned while on their way home from the mall. Yes, Dawn bought new shoes, but as she says, work shoes. What? Not super cute shoes? Tomorrow, they are ready in their place for the Christmas Eve gang.

That’s it. Time for bed.

Friday, December 21, 2018

Good afternoon 🌞 ... it’s been a busy day! Mark and Marky-Mark went to Lowes to buy two exterior doors for the project house. Later, Mark took a load of scrap metal for recycling. About 3 o’clock a banshee wind whipped through and sent our Sycamore leaves and a branch flying to the neighbor’s yard! Wow! Where did that come from? When we watch the news this morning we found there had been several tornado touchdowns south of us yesterday. There had been quite a lot of damage near the coast.

Christmas 2018 picture by Lynn Z. at the HOA party.

So it’s the shortest day of the year! Nice to know it’s on the upside from here on. 🌞 Did you know today’s sunset was 5 minutes later than 10 days earlier this month? Whhhaaatttt? Yeah, astronomical noon and time noon don’t always match. Ha. So there.

Watching news tonight ... we must be ready for Trump’s temper tantrum that is coming ... no wall funding ... stock market loss worst in 10 years ... a government shutdown ... General Maddenn leaving; the rats are fleeing the sinking ship. Even Fox & Friends is against Trump ... disagreeing on pulling troops out of Syria and Afghanistan and paving the path for ISIS to rise again.

But, these things are out of my control ... so Ho Ho Ho it’s nearly Christmas. πŸŽ…πŸΌ

Tomorrow morning, we are picking up Karen & Pete’s dog, Lexi, at the vet. The vet closes at noon and she would have to stay over Christmas. So, we’re picking her up and keep her til they get back a little later.

Thursday, December 20, 2018

Good morning! We awoke to rain and warning of heavy rain today as a fast moving storm moves through our area at 50 MPH. It’s one of those days prior to nice Christmas weather.

Mz BeeZee was enjoying the Christmas tree. Cute.

Mark bathed the doggies while I ironed the Christmas tablecloths. (Big table = big job.) I’ve got to have the table laid by Saturday when the K’s arrive.

Tonight we’re going to Rose & Jim’s for a patio party! It’ll be a chilly one! (Well, in the 60’s, it is Florida.)

A perfect evening ...

Wednesday, December 19, 2018

Drat! Yes, it’s a bright, beautiful sunshiny day but ... Mark’s iPhone 7 won’t charge and a replacement is $799 😟 He’s going to the Phone Doctor πŸ₯Ό to see if the charging port can be replaced; if not, we’ll go to Verizon this afternoon.

So, that’s the start to our Wednesday! I’m off to the Lakeside Inn for the neighborhood girls Christmas lunch. It’s always a fun event.

Twenty-five Christmas lunchers! Great turnout ... excellent service and food. We’ll be back next year!

I should call this “fun with friends” ... what a great group!

Thank you Rick M for the suggestion of cleaning the charging port on the phone! Mark took his phone to the phone doctor and that’s what the problem was. They cleaned it out and for $30, his phone is working again. Actually there was a lot of lint in there! Whew!

Yesterday I made the comprehensive grocery list for cooking the Christmas dinner ... and today Mark did the grocery shopping! He couldn’t find a big enough Butterball turkey so it’s off elsewhere for more shopping tomorrow. Hopefully Publix has the big birds! Tomorrow I can make the Rudolph cake and freeze it. Fun! Ho Ho Ho πŸŽ…πŸΌ

Tuesday, December 18, 2018

Good afternoon! It’s been busy busy busy around here cleaning up and getting organized for Christmas day. Mark has been working across the street for Marky Mark, helping out by cutting some trees down and hauling brush to the dump. The golf cart trailer he made has come in very handy for that!

Diane posted this on FB today and gave me a big laugh!

She was the queen of sneaking out. Mom would have loved to see this! Di and I had a good laugh.

Dawn has been on a lucky streak. Last Thursday she won a beautiful centerpiece at a Christmas party and today she won a 9 foot Christmas tree from Walmart. Randy says since things run in threes that she’s due another win, possibly the lottery? πŸ’° Congrats Dawn!

Adorable Robbie was just groomed ... I took his picture before he messed up his own beard. πŸΎπŸ’•

It’s TV time. So that’s it till tomorrow.

Monday, December 17, 2018

Good afternoon. Mark went across the street to work with Marky Mark today while I cleaned the house and readied it for Christmas. It was just as well he disappeared, as the nooks and crannies had to be vacuumed today. 😜

I see progress across the street as Lani is tossing out draperies and rods! (I remember doing that at the Pompano beach house we bought. OMG were they dirty!) I walked over with a glass of wine for her and invited them to play Yahtzee tonight. Being a new game to us it took awhile to get onto the score keeping. It was fun! Lani is sure lucky with dice! She had a Yahtzee or 2 in each game.

Sunday, December 16, 2018

Good morning. It’s 5 o’clock and the dogs and I are cuddled up in Mark’s chair watching a Hallmark movie.

Today is Robbie‘s eighth birthday. We love this wee rascal to the moon and back. 🌝 Of course he will have his favorite drive-thru meal. πŸ˜‹

Really mom! Do I have to wear this get-up to lunch?

BeeZee wasn’t into antlers either. πŸ™„

Where’s lunch?

Mark and Lew went hunting this morning! Nice weather for them. (There were dog hunters in the woods today; pretty noisy!)

After grilled chicken and french fries, the two kids are sacked out, πŸ’€ sleeping. (We ALL had a siesta while football was on the Telly.)

In other news ... RanDawn are going to Dan’s for a football party. Suwannee are in Stuart readying their coach for the Christmas trip! Busy busy.

I had another eBay sale so began making replacements for the popular items!

Tonight Mark and I are sharing a steak for dinner! (Thanks again Pam!)
