Saturday, April 30, 2022

Good afternoon. We both slept like the dead last night. Ha ha, nothing like lots of fresh air and some physical exercise to put it into Zombieland. it was a beautiful cooler start to our morning. Mark is hanging the shade cloth that we bought along the side of the RV. Hopefully, this will help to keep the sun off the side and preserve the wax job we had done last month.

What RV?

Great job! Mark was on the ladder again today. ðŸĨ°

Lani and Markymark sold the Casselberry house that we worked on, it closes at the end of May. That’s great news for them.

I got all my chores done this morning and I am painting for a couple of hours this afternoon.

Friday, April 29, 2022

Good morning sunshine! It’s a beautiful start to our day! We’re finishing up the exterior at the K’s. BeeZee and Robbie are coming to enjoy the back patio view.

Ha! It was just pointed out to me that it’s FRIDAY! Yay! We’re home, paint brushes cleaned, ladders put away … having a beer! Cheers ðŸŧ

It looks brand new!

What’s up in your part of the world? Here in Central Florida the heat found us today! Sue thought we should wait for the next cool spell to finish the job. Thursday will be nice … but Friday is the day! Dental appointments take precedence on Thursday.

I saw a cool idea for K’s front entry garden. Two overgrown hedge plants need to come out … and this “dry river bed” feature meandering through the low plants will look nice.

Cute eh? (With a BLUE pot or urn says Sue)

It’ll be a fun project!

At home we puttered about yesterday, mainly tidying up our painting tools and putting things away. Mark installed ‘more’ leaf gutter guards on the front of our house. I caught up on household stuff … then the L’s popped over with a few treasures for Mark and some for the humane society shop. At 4 Mark took the kids for a ride on The Caddy … then Markymark popped over for a front porch visit … then Lani. 😂  I fed the kids on time but our dinner didn’t happen til after 7. No sweat … we needed a visit, drinks and laughs. We found a home for the red tool box from the K’s neighbor. Markymark took it straightaway! Maybe it’ll help him organize. 😂

I started the small painting for the bedroom fireplace hearth (for summer.) The background was fun … just piled paint on and slapped around. Well … not too crazy as I “may” have gotten a few specks of pink paint on the new flooring. ðŸ˜ģ

Our new Wynter air conditioner arrived today. Mark had it hooked up in minutes. It works great! There’s a 4 year warranty on this one. 👍ðŸŧ

Sunday, April 24, 2022

Good early morning everyone! The kids are coming to work with us today, it’s too nice for them to be sitting at home alone. Also, Mark and Lani are feeling a little under the weather haven’t gotten their booster shots Friday.

It’s after 5 now … having a coffee at home after a couple of drinks with Sue. The morning was gorgeous, lots of wind and birds chattering. Two Canada geese honked greetings flying down the golf course. Nice.

Painting the front of the house was much warmer … lack of breeze. We did however get “nearly” finished; just a few more hours of “high” stuff to do.

Saturday, April 23, 2022

Good sunny afternoon from Central Florida. It’s our community picnic this afternoon. Mark’s cooking up a batch of Buffalo Chicken dip to bring. They’re nearly 60 attendees; hopefully some of our newest residents!

Nancy has volunteered her gorgeous lakefront property for the site. Our association is providing beer and wine … and “the meat.” Everyone brings something … side dish or dessert. Pictures to follow …

Over 60 folks arrived ðŸĨģ

Nancy’s place looked beautiful ðŸĪĐ

Now those are some antique lawn chairs 😂

New friends were made … some quite young ☺️

Meanwhile at The Villages, the K’s enjoyed the view from their new patio!

The view is spectacular!

And, the pond view.

As you see … a gorgeous day here!  Tomorrow, it’s back to painting the exterior at K’s house.

Friday, April 22, 2022

Good morning. All is well here, just been too busy to start the blog. Wednesday was Dermatologist appointment day, and followed by friends night out at Tony’s pizza in Eustis. That is a great mom and pop place with good food. There were 11 of us there and Wanda, our waitress, was fabulous. Everything came out as ordered. Yesterday, we enjoyed bird songs and hearing golfers chatting while we were painting at Sue and Wayne‘s house. There is a lot of cutting in to do on that house, and some of it too high for me. We have more to paint cutting in on our next trip, and then begin rolling on the taupe gray color. It’s looking good. Last night, Markymark and Lani came over for a visit on the front porch. It was good to catch up, they’ve been awful busy too! Finally, the Casselberry house is on the market.

Today, it’s Mark‘s turn for the eye doctor. He’s been having a time with tearing, and after reading labels, four out of five of the medication‘s prescribed cause excessive tearing. ðŸ˜ģ What the heck, so I am going with him today and we will tagteam the doctor with questions looking for alternatives.

Sandhill cranes hanging out in our neighborhood.

Tuesday, April 19, 2022

Good morning! It’s a cooler day with highs around 75. We have a couple of errands to run before a community meeting at 1 o’clock. We’re the community coordinators who deal with code enforcement rules dictated by Lake County. It’s a good thing … but there’s that 1 community member who loses her mind when someone gets fined. 🙄

On the golf cart ride home from the meeting we spotted a neighbor unloading gas cans from his car trunk. Mark stopped and helped him carry the cans down to his boat. Getting old ain’t for sissies, that’s for sure.

Tonight we’re picking up dinner and taking it to Nancy’s for a visit. Robs and Beez are invited.

Monday, April 18, 2022

Good morning! We’re off to K’s to begin painting the exterior of their house. Except for dodging thorny bushes it should be a quick job … maybe 4 days.

It was a good day of painting … lots accomplished despite being a bit muggy by afternoon.

Happy Easter. It’s a bright beautiful sunshiny day here in Central Florida. Pam called today on FaceTime and sounded really good. She had been celebrating Easter yesterday with family in Wisconsin. Apparently, they do a pub crawl and managed to hit six pubs. Afterwards, they went home for a ham dinner. Now that sounds like a fun Easter tradition. ðŸĢðŸĪŠ

Do you know how I’m not a fan of eating fish because I always find a bone? Of course everyone promises me that I won’t find a phone and I should try some. Well, today we had canned albacho tuna for lunch. Mark mixed it up with mayo and celery. It tasted fishy to me, but I was trying to eat it with no complaint, until I got a ruddy FISH BONE … in CANNED TUNA. ðŸĪŪ Of course I freaked out, and Mark couldn’t believe it happened, but laughed.

Tonight we are going to Sue and Wayne‘s for steak dinner. No, it’s not a traditional Easter meal but we are just so happy to be able to get together. I’ll try and get a couple of pictures to post.

Saturday, April 16, 2022

Good morning sunshine! It’s Easter weekend and we’re relaxing at home watching the travel ruckus on TV.  Two million passengers are going through Atlanta airport today. Phew.

The Tawns gang from Australia are in Scotland for the wedding of Connie and Jack. Because of the pandemic it’s been nearly 3 years since they’ve been able to get together!

Gorgeous Connie … what a dress! Wow. ðŸĨ‚ðŸū

Alex, Jordan, Chase, Elliot, Miles, Flo, Connie, Alastair, Patrick. (Guessing Pete is the photographer)

Cheers to all … 3 wed and 3 to go eh Alastair and Melanie?

We have a few things to do today, a few chores to run, a palm tree to trim, and a dance to attend tonight. It’s a lovely Saturday here in Central Florida.

Fun was had tonight at Scottish Highlands community with Alan Darcy and Scott Simon. Great show … lots of laughs, music and dancing. ðŸĨ° We were happy to meet our friend Lynn’s new beau, Joe from Brooksville. Lew’s been gone 2 years, life goes on. Our friend Sharon’s been alone for many years since Art died. Tonight we met her new mate Rick. They seemed very happy … both fun people.

Good morning and a very Happy 9th Birthday to our Mz BeeZee ðŸĨģðŸŽķ🎂💕ðŸū

Cruising on her 9th birthday ðŸū💕

Doggie birthday lunch … Rotisserie chicken, lettuce, blueberries, and strawberries with cheese for lunch

Robbie (11) had a great day too!

Two American bald eagles ðŸĶ…

And an alligator 🐊 on shore

Well that birthday couldn’t get much better, and then the “ups man” stopped by with cookies for both dogs. ðŸū💕🎂

Today, Sue shared news from Priscilla, new mom to Lil’Bit and BowWow!

Wonderful news!!! The two have settled in nicely and fast! (Sue is missing them.)

We have plenty to do today … eBay errands, Home Depot and a boat ride for BeeZee’s birthday fun! (Aunt Bonnie has more Scottie pups … 7 boys! )

Wednesday, April 13, 2022

Good morning. We were up early and off to the Humane Society store with a couple of boxes of donations, then the post office with an eBay package, and then off to Sue and Wayne‘s in The Villages. You see, they are delivering Lil’ Bit and Bow Wow to their new mom in Winter Garden. ðŸū💕ðŸĨ‚ðŸū

Sue thought their three dogs might be upset when they saw Sue ‘n Wayne leave with Lil’ Bit and Bow Wow. As it turned out, they were very relaxed after a couple of minutes and all 3 went to sleep in their favorite places. Well … Shorty Hot Pants did bark for an hour … just a woof here and a woof woof there ðŸŽķ 😂 … he wanted something!

Sie and Bow Wow … and new mom Priscilla with Lil’ Bit. Both K’s feel it’s a great match. Of course it will take the dogs about a month to really settle in, but it looks like a very good home for them.

Once their beds and toys were brought in, the yeo seemed to understand they were there to stay and relaxed.

Chilling out after an exciting day!

We puttered around and Mark did a few little jobs. Wayne gave me an iPad and I loaded a couple of apps on that. I’ve never had one, so it’ll be a bit of a learning experience. I think I will enjoy doing eBay on that rather than the small screen on my phone. We headed for home around 1 o’clock as we had a party at 4:30 for our neighbors Sy and Kate. (They are moving to Geneva New York on Thursday.) Former neighbors Carol and Lynn were both there to see them off. their pool home goes up for sale next week.

Anyway, back home there was another eBay sale to package while Mark took the dogs for a golf cart ride. It is a truly gorgeous day, and the big magnolia flowers are blooming.

Tuesday, April 12, 2022

Good morning. I was up extra early, 5 AM and enjoyed reading the AARP newspaper. I seldom get time to read more than headlines … there is a lot to get through.  So many intricate fraud scams … I saved a couple of phone numbers should I ever need them.

Today’s fun (?) will be replacing the RV batteries. The darn things don’t work more than 4 years in our Florida heat. Ours are 3.5 years old. ðŸĪĻ Hopefully that’s the only problem we have and not an awning replacement motor. Mark is having a sleep in … time will tell. 😂

Our Canadian friends are expecting another BLIZZARD! What the heck? It’s been a tough winter for the Winnipeg area!

Hang in there … flooding will be there in no time! ðŸ˜Ē It’s 36 years since I’ve been there for a winter … never forgotten those icy winds. ðŸĨķ Here’s the upcoming forecast …

❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️ = ⛄️ ðŸĨķ

So … I’m not going to mention our Central Florida weather at all today. 😎

The RV is parked … new batteries installed … we’re feasting on Patagonian scallops and broccoli tonight. Yum. Later KimBob are coming over for a few rounds of Mexican dominoes. 😜

Good fun tonight! Kim won the first 1/2 … to be continued. We missed a FaceTime call with Rick, and apparently Ruth is in Winnipeg visiting her sister and had her flight canceled for tomorrow. I guess she’ll be experiencing a blizzard. LOL.

Monday April 11, 2022

Good early morning! It’s been a heartburn night for me after jalapeÃąos on my pizza. They sure tasted good. 😂 It’s been a nice change of pace to be RVing again and to make new friends. Had the weather been warmer we’d have been poolside. Anyway, we did enjoy happy hour at 3:40 with Carol and Rick Johnson, Jane and Dave, Trish and Bart, Karin and Ray plus LaDonna and Wayne.  The whole group migrated to our campsite at 7:30 for a bonfire.

So, this morning we were all packed up and ready to go about 10 o’clock when the awning wouldn’t come in. That probably means we have to manually crank it, but Mark does not have a drill motor with him. And, the campground is virtually empty. So I will make a call to the main office and see what help we can get.

Well, we never did hear back from the office, so screw their support. Ha ha. Anyway I did walk around and find a neighbor who had a drill and Mark had the correct fit, so between them we got the ruddy awning back in. So, we were on our way home probably an hour delayed. Once home, it was the usual hubbub of emptying the rig, doing the laundry and such.

Mark did some thinking and figures we need to replace the batteries in the rig. That will very likely fix the problem with the awning. Why did he think that, because when he went to withdraw the jacks, they were very sluggish. Batteries don’t last long in Florida.

We settled in and watched American Idol last night. It was most enjoyable as it was being filmed in Hawaii. That’s it for today.

Saturday, April 9, 2022

Good morning. We are RVing in Madison Florida with our VIP Camping club. Meanwhile, Sue and Wayne are in South Florida at their Margate property. While all this is going on, Kris is in hospital having tests and possible surgery today for heart issues. We are waiting to hear from Diane with updates.  ðŸ˜Ē

It’s a cold but sunny start to our day, around 45° overnight. We sat out last evening with a bonfire after playing a few rounds of cards at the clubhouse. Sue and Wayne are having breakfast with their former neighbor Jenny this morning.

Friday, April 8, 2022

Good afternoon sunshine! It’s been a lazy start to our day … we all slept til 8:30. After a leisurely morning breakfast of bacon and eggs we walked the dogs and then arranged to go to Madison to see what’s around. It’s a cute town with a lumber mill and pretty lake. There were things we’d forgotten and popped into CVS. There we found everything! It reminded me of the Eckerd stores from the ‘70’s. Back at Ragan’s we dropped the L’s off at their rig.

Now, 2:15 we’re having coffee outside under the big live oaks. This is a kids paradise! The 4-wheelers have trails out back of the campground … golf cart trails … lakes with trails and fishing … zero entry pool … lazy river … mega waterslide … disc golf … gogo ball … mini golf and daily activities! Oh to be a kid again!!!

Thursday, April 7, 2022

Good morning. We were up early, loaded up the rig and we’re prepared to leave at 8:30. I was cleaning up the dishes and turned on the water just to rinse the sink, and there was no water. Not a drop. When you’re on a well system, there are many things to check.

So, Mark discovered that some sort of relay switch on the well tank went. So, I guess that needs replacing. Anyway, Markymark is home today and we will try and get the well pump guy over there.

Wi-Fi here seems to be iffy, so no pictures could be added. It’s a nice campground, certainly family oriented. We had dinner with Wayne and LaDonna at their place and then sat outside last night with a nice fire. Our site is covered in beautiful live oak trees, well over 100 years old.

Wednesday, April 6, 2022

Good afternoon sunshine! Today’s been an all-day affair detailing our rig. What a fabulous job these two fellas are doing! The left side had sun exposure and needed heavy compounds to lift the oxidation. Then … wax and buff. It looks awesome. I sure hope they’ll be finished before dark.

It’s just going on 7 o’clock, and the fellas have finished and did a fabulous job. Divine Detailing … and Colby does RV repairs on site. Schweeet. Nice guys!

No, we just have to finish loading up and hope to be on the road at 9 o’clock tomorrow morning. We’ll see, if it’s raining, we will leave a little later.

Tuesday, April 5, 2022

Tuesday, April 5, 2022

Good evening. It’s about 15 minutes before seven, and the sun is shining beautifully but it is a hot 87°F. This can only mean one thing at this time of year, another cold front moving in.

We pulled the rig out of the RV port this morning, put the AC on and got it ready for detailing tomorrow. Can you believe we haven’t had it out since November!!! Instead of RVing, we’ve been doing other things, mostly around the house. Now, we are happy to be having a little trip.

Our friend Nancy came over for happy hour today. It was fun, we hadn’t had a chance to catch up with her for a few weeks. She has offered to look after the plants for us when we’re away! Nice. She’s getting our fiberglass bar for her pool area! Tomorrow is delivery day.

It’ll be perfect there!

Monday, April 4, 2022

It’s been a fun day of finishing up the “bar server!”

It’s all together, just the paint has to cure and harden before we loaded up with bottles and glassware. Anyway, you can see that the lights have been added on the cubbies down below, and also one above the “mirror.” We really like it, and think it turned out great. There are four drawers for storage, the two cubbies that are lit and two shelves either side. It’ll be fun to decorate it.

Our next adventure is pulling the rig out after 5 months! Mark has a professional detailer coming Wednesday to hand wax it.

Sunday, April 3, 2022

Sunday, April 3, 2022

Good evening. We started our day with a trip to Home Depot to pick up a few things we needed for our bar project. Of course we ended up getting a lot more as it’s always the case. We needed some new gutter guards for the front to keep the leaves out of the gutters. This is one less job that Mark hast to do once they are on.

Here’s how we progress today. Mark felt the boxes where the drawers used to be so we can put bottles in there. Now, I have got them coded with Kilz and will paint them the black suede tonight. The new knobs are right, but of course the bolts are not the right size. OMG, another trip to the store. Ha ha.

The top portion is all done and ready for assembly. However, we are not putting a mirror back in there so I am doing a quick painting to fill the space.

We bought quarter inch plywood today, and I coded it twice getting it ready for art painting. The abstract background is done, and now for the main feature, maybe tomorrow.

Saturday, April 2, 2022

Well, it started out a nice day. Mark and Bob went to the woods again today and seem to have been fooled by the same turkey. 😂 Bob went to get his trail camera and the turkey walked 15 feet in front of them, alas, no gun.

Me? I put the third coat of paint on our new treasure. Now it has to harden for a couple of days before we put it together. It’s tough waiting, as we’d like to get it done.

Black Suede Behr paint. Pretty, soft black.

This evening, we are going to Kim Bob’s for Bob‘s 60th birthday. He has family flying in, and they have a terrible travel day with storms around us.

Today is 50 years since my Freddie Farkel was born. What a crazy, high-spirited, fun loving ESS was he. I was too inexperienced as a dog mom for that fine fellow. Great memories though. ðŸū💕

Kim put on one heck of a birthday for Bob. She had all the family there, including the grandchildren with dinner for all and a beautiful big birthday cake. It was chaos, as is with a huge family. It was great!!!

Bob … 😂 I hate surprises.

Kim with granddaughter Haven. So cute.

Friday, April 1, 2022

Well, were you fooled today?

Mark and Bob went turkey hunting again today. There are critters out there, as evidenced by the photos on their cameras.

Hooo goes there?
