Tuesday, March 31, 2020

Hi y’all. I’m thinking my blog is pretty dull nowadays with social distancing. There’s always a silver lining in every cloud. ðŸĪ·‍♀️

This morning I took my coffee and the Scotties to the front porch. It was so peaceful. No sounds of mankind, just the birdsongs. As the Spanish moss began to sway and my wind chimes began tingling I got a whiff of Jasmine. We watched the Blue herons and Ibis fly over us. That’s the silver lining; slowing down and appreciating life.

This afternoon we had a pizza on the pizzazz for lunch, did a few more things around the house and then had happy hour on the boat. No, it’s not fixed yet so we just did happy hour at the dock. Ha ha. It’s nice and cool with a beautiful breeze.

Thanks to Scott for sending this ...

Ha ha ha ha, perfect.

I talked to LaDonna and Wayne today on FaceTime, and then talked to Wayne and Sue. Meantime, Randy & Dawn called so we are pretty much up-to-date on all the local news.

Right now, 8 o’clock, we are hearing the first rain we’ve had in the whole month of March. I hope it lasts more than a minute or two.

Monday, March 30, 2020

Good afternoon. It’s a bright beautiful sunshiny day here with a good breeze. Although it’s unseasonably hot for this time of year, it’s actually quite nice. Well I was doing chores and washing my hair, Mark took the dogs for a long walk and then a golf cart ride. After lunch we took them for a little walk ... then Mark went to investigate what we ran into with our boat the last time out. It was just off the back of our boat house. Well, it turns out it was bigger than we thought ...

That’s a pretty big branch sitting on the work barge. It certainly could have caused a problem. (Our boat is still out of commission until the mechanic Rob comes with the boat parts. I sure hope he comes soon!

After today’s general chores I did a little more painting. Nothing to show yet, just a lot of background work. Robbie and BeeZee had rawhides while I was painting. They love to spend time with me when I’m painting so it’s a good time to give them a treat.

Tonight we watched two episodes of nurse Jackie and then switched over and watch three of Ozark. It really is a great show. that’s it for today. There’s not too much going on considering we are basically shut-ins. Stay safe everyone and keep washing those hands! ðŸĨ°

Our orchids are blooming!

Good afternoon. We had a busy Sunday morning emptying the bedroom furniture and then cleaning the carpet. It looks great, better than I thought it would. Now, Mark is puttering on other things and I am doing a little painting. Tonight we are going to have a treat and order in from Stavros.

RIP Joe Diffie

My fav song of his ...

Stay safe ... stay home!

Saturday, March 28, 2020

Neighbor Kate posted this picture of Lake Eustis!

Good afternoon. Mark has just come in from making a platform for blowing the leaves off the boathouse roof. It should make it much easier!

I did more spring cleaning, washing the curtains between the sunroom and the dining room, bedroom curtains, tidying up my plants and cleaning a bedroom area rug.

We’re invited to Pat and Ken‘s backyard tonight for social distancing happy hour. We take all our own things and just have a chat 6 feet apart. We did it earlier in the week and it was enjoyable.

The lanai ... sitting far apart. It was nice to see Rose, Jim, Lynn, Bob, Kim  at Pat & Ken’s new place.

That’s it. TV time ... Ozark is on.

Friday, March 27, 2020

Good evening. We’re doing our part by staying home and being boring. 😂

But ... I’m in the Christmas spirit. ðŸ‘Đ‍ðŸŽĻ

It’s wash wash wash here plus spring cleaning and household repairing. Mark made a run to Lowes and Home Depot and now has what he needs to keep busy.

Sue continues her knee therapy at Imperial Point. Just before the Broward County quarantine order took affect the K’s had their dogs groomed. I’m seeing a lot of shaggy pups on Facebook. 💕ðŸū (Ours are fine as Mark does the clippering.)

This old map of the Harris-Chain-of-Lakes interested me.

RanDawn’s orchid is Blooming nicely! Love the color! They’re sticking close to home as we all are.

Ozark is on again ... 10 new episodes. I need to go back and catchup on the last couple to catch up on what’s happening now. 😝

Thursday, March 26, 2020

Good evening. Well, apparently the day got away on us. We didn’t do anything spectacular today but Marky Mark came by about 530 and joined us for a beer. That seems to have lasted to about 9 o’clock. We sat on the front porch, had a few drinks, chatted and had fun.

Sue and Wayne are now on house lock down in Broward County. It hasn’t happened yet here, officially, but our neighborhood and surrounding area has been doing this for 10 days already.

Tonight, while we were talking to Randy & Dawn on the phone, Meredith and Tim stopped by on their golf cart. All’s well here ... hope it is at your place.

Wednesday, March 25, 2020

Good afternoon. Well, we started out bright and sunny but the clouds have rolled in. Mark has been helping Ken do some clearing around his water front site. They spotted two baby alligators that were grunting, in other words, calling mama. 🐊 Hmmm ðŸĪ”... better keep a lookout for her. They did some trimming, loaded it up on the barge and then used the Mounty to haul it up the hill onto the empty lot by Bob and Kim’s place.

I took the kids for a nice golf cart ride and went to check on Mark. Bob Ken and Mark were all standing around yakking when I drove up. It’s so nice to have friends in the neighborhood.

The power company is putting up new poles in our neighborhood, and this week they’re on our street. It’s rather fun to make them halt their work and let me through with the golf cart with my load of Scotties. Ha ha ha.

It’s a bit late for orchids ... pretty though.

This afternoon I finished another small painting.

Here it is before I put the glitter on it remember they are a version of Christmas cards, so they simply must have glitter. if you know me you know how much I love Christmas. This is my way of relaxing and creating.

This evening, on the front porch, Marky Mark stop by but was going out to dinner with Tracy and Paul, a couple of neighbors that he has gotten to know. They went to Palm Gardens for steak night. It’s all takeout now so they ate on the boat. Marky Mark felt very bad for the owners there, as the place was so quiet.

Mark and I had pizza on the pizzazz tonight and then watched a few episodes of nurse Jackie.  Randy & Dawn called, they are staying home as Dawn is off work this week. sue got her stitches out today, so all is well there.

That’s it for us.

Tuesday, March 24, 2020

Good morning. My first message of the day was from Sue and Wayne. Wayne was at the grocery store for 7 o’clock and the place was full. It was the first day for seniors to shop early. He was unable to get any paper products and couldn’t get much of what they wanted/needed. Dayam!

Mark left here at 8:30 heading for our Winn-Dixie. That store didn’t open till 8 o’clock, so he’s hoping to go in and shop after the major rush. We shall see! It’s a new reality, isn’t it? (as it turns out, our store was well stocked, maybe not with the exact brand of soups that we like, but there were some. The paper aisle was, as Sue said, decimated.)

I have a little fun planned for today… I’ve invited Bob and Kim, Lynn, Pat and Ken to bring their own lawn chairs and their own drinks and meet under the shade of our big trees at 4:30. Our front yard is big enough we can all sit around 6 feet apart and talk. At least that will be a little social conversation. I thought they’d laugh at me, but they’re all coming 😂 it’s pretty poor for southern hospitality, but like I say, it’s a new reality.

We had happy hour on the front lawn under the trees with 6 friends. It was nice to catch up with each other. We kept a good distance and didn’t share anything. 😜

Mark cooked General Tso chicken and jasmine rice for our dinner. It was great ... pretty spicy. We watched a few Nurse Jackie episodes on Netflix and headed to bed at 10:30.

Stay safe ... wash your hands! ❤️

Monday, March 23. 2020

Good evening, as Alfred Hitchcock would say. Scary voice! It’s been a nice quiet Monday here. Well, a few things but it’s all social distancing.

How are you doing with that? Are you abiding by the 6 foot rule? We are, well, I am. Mark had to take an eBay sale to the post office today and saw Sherri ... he tossed her the package from 8 feet away and fortunately, she caught it. It’s a glass bowl I am shipping. Ha ha ha. After that, he stopped in Dollar General for some eggs and paper plates. We are being very cautious about wiping the doorhandles with Lysol every time we get a delivery. Although our mail is delivered daily, we only take it out of the mailbox on Saturdays. The ding dang dong bills can wait. ðŸĪŠ

Mark picked up the table we loaned Lynn for the garage sale. She wanted to show Mark all the work she has done inside. Their third bedroom was all Lew’s  collection plus a desk. Apparently everything has been sold and cleared out and Lynn is so happy to have an empty room. She then took Mark to the garage and showed him all the empty shelves and open space. Mark joked that she could get herself a Miata convertible now as she had room to park two vehicles. Ha ha ha, she liked that idea! OMG 😂

So today, Mark finish the gutters on the boathouse, I puttered around the house and worked on my painting. It’s kind of crazy sitting outside on the front porch for two hours and only three people go by. One was Lynn walking Ozzie, another was Ed and his wife bike riding past and another was an unknown bike rider. Well, I bet it’s the same at your house.

So now, it’s time for a little TV and chilling out with some wine. stay safe everybody and keep your social distance. When this all ends, we can hug each other and carry-on like we always did, hopefully. ðŸĨ°

Sunday, March 22, 2020

Good afternoon. It’s a bright beautiful sunshiny day here with 85°F. We got a full of them and figure at 7 o’clock and began cooking. well, and baking. 😜

First I baked eight potatoes, sliced them and mixed them with olive oil and oregano for the dogs.( I put them in Tupperware and freeze them. ) Those done, I baked four sweet potatoes, mashed them and added a little ginger and vegetable oil. Those too will go in the freezer. Mark took the sweet potato skins, filled them with a mixture of vegetables and venison and cook them on the pizzazz for the dogs. Those will be tasty treats or an addition to their food.

I made us a triple chocolate cake and then while the oven was on I whipped up a batch of cheddar cheese and beef cookies for the doggies.

Well those were in the oven Mark made a tuna noodle casserole for our dinner ... and I made a big batch of pumpkin applesauce cookies, also for the kids. 🐕

It’s now 1 o’clock and we just sat down for coffee! Ha!

I see Mz BeeZee in the background ... waiting for treats!

So that’s how we roll on social distancing.

Work finally done, we had a slice of cake and watched telly.

We called Randy & Dawn and caught up on their news. Then Karen & Pete and then Sue and Wayne and then Wayne and LaDonna. It’s really weird to use the phone instead of going to dinner. hey, but we managed to drink a bottle of wine between those calls. Life is still good! ❤️

Saturday, March 21, 2020

Good evening y’all. Are you into the swing of isolation yet? We’re doing fine ... Mark’s keeping busy with outside chores and I’m handling the indoor ones.

Bob sent Mark pics of another neighbor with a barge helping trim the main canal. At this point we don’t know who he is ...

but ... yay! It’s fantastic to have help!

Bob and Kim love to fish ...

that’s Bob with a nice bass!

Friday, March 20, 2020

Heeheehee ... I think we got ‘em. (Last Thursday a white pickup truck cruised our neighborhood with headlights off. The men went through the trash cans. Creepy. Lynn’s security video camera recorded 3 men with flashlights at 4:29 a.m.) Mark put the trash and recycle cans at the curb yesterday ...

with a wee surprise.  The can rim greased and red peppered ... plus a goody on top of the trash bags inside ... a Mr. Coffee maker with a dog ðŸ’Đ in it. 😝

I was up at 4:10 ... made a coffee and waited. Sure enough at 4:25 the white pickup cruised past our place, turned in the cul de sac then pulled up in front of Marky-Mark’s place, headlights off.  I could make out figures with flashlights but that’s all.

The Mounty is a silent witness, parked facing the cans with trail camera ready. I can scarcely wait until Mark wakes up and checks the scene. 😂

Well, we know one of them got the peppered grease on their hands, but the coffee pot was not touched. What the heck are they looking for? The camera in the Mountie failed to take a picture because the windshield was all dewy. Next week will be Plan B.

Here is the picture of Marky-Mark’s house with the roof done ...

What a wonderful difference from two years ago.

Lynn just came to our door in a panic, there’s a snake in her garage. Mark gets called every day for something with Lew gone! 😂

This evening, we went for a walk with the dogs and talk to our neighbor Pat when we got home we took the golf cart for a ride and went along ways around a couple of different neighborhoods. There were a lot of people out just walking their dogs are working on their lawn. It’s a beautiful evening. Now in Florida the bars and restaurants are closed except for takeout orders. Many of them are offering delivery. We will probably do something on Saturday night just to keep the restaurants going.

While I was painting this afternoon LaDonna sent me a picture of what she had just painted. It’s pretty cool, all done in black-and-white ...

That’s it for today. Stay home, and wash your hands. ðŸĨ°

Thursday, March 19, 2020

Thursday, March 19, 2020

Good morning. Both Mark and I were up early to help Lynn set up for her garage sale. Actually, she had the table set up and all we had to do was move them outside under the tent. Now she has plenty of company with 6 neighbors clustered around. There’s a lot of good man stuff they are as Lew was quite the collector.

After the chores were done, Marky-Mark popped in for a haircut.

Marky-Mark’s 💇‍♂️ by Oopsie Salon ... and my paycheck; A roll of ðŸ§ŧ and a bottle of 🍷. 😂

We had a couple of laughs, and then I vacuumed the hair off his neck and back ... but the vacuum grabbed his neck! I said oh my God I hope I didn’t give you a hickey! ðŸĪĢ We sent some pictures to Lani and she approved his new stylist.

Shortly after this, LaDonna and Wayne came over with a few doggy items for us. They stopped in at Lynn‘s garage sale and bought a few goodies. After that, we invited them in for coffee and sat at least 6 feet apart in the living room. Yes, social distancing with great friends. It’s the new normal.

After a couple of good meals, we took the dogs for a good ride on the Caddy, all around the neighborhood for at least 45 minutes. It was just great to get out and we waved at a lot of friends and neighbors.

We called Rick this afternoon to check on him. His leg  is 90% better ... he’s still on 20 hours of propped up leg and antibiotics. We hope he will be feeling back to normal very soon.

We checked in on Sue today and she seems to be doing very well. The crutches have been put aside and she is doing rehab exercises.

Meanwhile, Mark and I had happy hour on the front porch and then watch several Weeds episodes!  Tomorrow, more of the same. It’s kind of crazy not to have a busy schedule like we usually have. It’s OK though we’re getting things done around the house that needed doing.

Ta ta ... stay safe and wash those hands! ðŸĨ°

Wednesday, March 18, 2020

Good morning. When I took the dogs out at 5 o’clock there was a big transport plane flying over; unusual to see anything at that hour. It gave me a spooky feeling like right after 9/11. I’m sure glad that I am back into painting, as it is a wonderful, peaceful pass time.

Just for giggles ...

Friends asked us out to dinner tonight, we declined. Instead, I ordered two dinners from Stavros for pickup and set our dining room table with the fine China and wine. ha ha. We’re having an at home date night. Of course I would like to have gone out, but it’s not prudent at the moment. So, to support our local businesses, as Susan & Wayne did yesterday, we placed orders. That’s  the best we can do at the moment.

The roof continues to go on over at Marky Mark’s and is looking grand. I believe they could be finished late today. A lot of wood replacement has been done. (Update, the roof is done and I will take a picture of it tomorrow. It looks great.) MM is happy to have it done!

Sue had her first therapy session on her knee. She’s home having a nap now so I will check in later and see how it went.

Tuesday March 17, 2020

It’s the wee hours of St. Paddy’s Day and sure to be a quiet one this year. Oh the restaurants are carrying on with the corned beef and cabbage dinners but we’re staying home. The current mandate is no more than 10 people gathering ... and sure to be updated today.

Sue’s outpatient meniscus (knee) surgery is at 7 o’clock today. Wayne’s driving her ... no Uber for the time being.

Roof work is underway at Marky-Mark’s ... the mariachis music ðŸŽķ has begun. OlÃĐ.

Sue’s surgery went well and they were on the way home by 9 o’clock. 👍ðŸŧ Wayne is now the male nurse; let’s see how this turns out. Haha.

Mark puttered about the yard catching up on neglected chores ... and enjoyed it. It was nice. Randy popped over and joined us on the front porch to watch the roof job. OMG there was a lot of wood replacement going on!

About 4 o’clock, Marky Mark popped over and joined us on the front porch for a drink. He is so happy to have the roof underway! It was nice to have a bit of company.

Randy and Dawn we’re having the grand daughters for an overnight. It is unsure at this time how much longer the Eye Center will remain open? We shall see. I have been very worried about Dawn at work because of her closeness to dealing with patients.

We binge watched Weeds last night and drank some wine. Some of our friends are still going out to dinner and behaving like everything is normal, so I expect we will be under curfew soon enough. People just can’t seem to self monitor. ðŸĪ·‍♀️

Monday, March 16, 2020

Good afternoon. It was a bright beautiful sunshiny start to our day but it is actually cloudy with an east wind now. Mark was at Winn-Dixie for grocery stock up at 7 o’clock this morning, right after their night shift cleaning and restocking. It paid off, he was able to get everything he needed including 12 rolls of toilet paper for Marky Mark. Ha ha ha. When he took it over to him I hollered across the street “remember when we would bring cookies to neighbors?” It was a good laugh in grim times.

After doing the grocery shopping, I put things away, did laundry and my usual chores. Mark decided it was a good day to do some canal brush clearing with the barge.

Well done! This was overgrowth from the entranceway to the main canal by Jack and Linda‘s house. Tomorrow, or whenever he gets a second wind, he will clean more around Marcy and Tom‘s place. You see, hunkering down means different things to different people.

Our friend Rick M had his last IV antibiotic treatment at Vernon hospital today. We wish him a speedy recovery from a nasty infection. The next ten days will be much like the previous 10 ... antibiotics and his leg elevated for 20 hours a day!

It was rather exciting this evening as shingles were delivered to Marky-Mark’s house across the street. We have been looking at nasty shingles for a number of years! So yeah, we’re ready for a new view!

Woot woot!

Lynn called that Ozzie had a piece of glass in his foot. We ran over with a magnifying glass and tweezers. He was a very good boy and lay down and let us look at it. Mark pulled something out from between his paw pads but we weren’t sure if it was glass. Whatever it was, he was walking fine after that. Now we’re back home and ready for a bit of TV.

Ta ta til tomorrow.

Sunday, March 15, 2020

Good morning y’all spring is just around the corner, although I actually think it arrived here about two weeks ago. Yes, it’s a bright blue sky sunny morning with a high in the mid 80s forecast. I think it’s a perfect day to take the kids for a boat ride brown bag lunch. Meanwhile, it’s 2nd cuppa coffee time here. 😜

Mark made sandwiches and packed a cooler and we left home about 12:30 along with the doggies for an afternoon cruise on Lake Eustis.  we checked out some condos, Cypress Cove condominiums that we thought might be a nice location for Pam. Some of them have a view of the lake, and it seems that most have at least canal access to the water. We don’t know much about it at this time, but they look pretty nice.

The lake was busy with folks on jet skis and pontoon boats. What a gorgeous afternoon.

The pups had a good time ... out for a 3 hour cruise. 😂

After we got home, Randy & Dawn popped in for a visit by Boat!!! They said it was an hour and a half cruise from their place to ours. The Dora canal was very busy today ... and they did great. After a drink at the bar, they headed back for home.

That was our day, a pretty good one.

Saturday, March 14, 2020

Saturday, March 14, 2020

Good afternoon y’all. It’s the usual bright, sunshiny day here in Central Florida. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a run on necessary products.

Our favorite cartoonist has hit the nail on the head here. Stuart grabbed his share. ðŸĪĢ (Mark just took our Scotties out for their lunchtime walk and I heard Robbie‘s Scottish war cry. Arararoooo! That means the ibis are feeding on the lawn.)

While Mark cleaned the boat house gutters today I worked inside the house. After dinner we took the dogs for a ride on the Caddy and then popped in to see how Marky Mark was doing on his kitchen drywall. He has a long way to go, but it is starting to shape up.

I postponed my dermatologist appointment until May when hopefully all this virus business is behind us. Sue is scheduled for knee surgery on Tuesday, and she is wondering if that will be postponed as well.

Randy and Dawn called us this morning while they were on their way to Publix. Scott had called them to say Publix was closing tonight at 8 o’clock until further notice. So, they jumped in the truck and went grocery shopping. Well, when they came out of the store, Dawn saw the sign that read closing at 8 o’clock for cleaning and restocking daily. They had a good laugh over that and are all stocked up now just in case.

Friday, March 13, 2020

Friday, March 13, 2020

Good morning y’all. Yes, you’re probably sick of hearing me say it, but it’s a bright beautiful sunshiny day here in Central Florida. It’s in the 60s this morning going to the mid-80s later today. We are both having an at home day and Mark has a list a mile long of things he wants to accomplish. It’s not a one day list. Ha ha. Me? The usual, laundry, dusting and vacuuming and then some time for painting! But right now, it’s coffee time and watching the Justice channel.

Ha! The best laid plans and all that nonsense. LaDonna texted they’d like to pop over in an hour ... so I quickly tidied up and got a few snacks ready. We had a fun time ... for several hours. Granddaughter Henley had a 2 hour nap so we had beer(s). 😜 It was a much nicer afternoon than vacuuming! After they left at 4:30 we had a quick dinner and went to visit Lynn for an hour. She’s doing well ... lots to be done with Lew gone. Benn left his dog as good company for Lynn. 🐕 They adore each other and he gets her up and moving!

This evening, we’re just sipping wine and watching episodes of Weeds.

Thursday, March 12, 2020

Good morning. Yes, it’s another bright beautiful day in the sunshine State. Mark and I did sleep on the question of canceling our March RV trips and decided to be cautious. I canceled the RV trip with the VIP gang and also our trip to see Matt and the grandchildren. With all the warnings, it is the wisest decision. Both Mark and I have had bronchitis, me dozens of times over the years, and pneumonia. There will be other trips once this virus is under control. (One of the VIP members posted on Facebook that her husband Joe got notice he had to quarantine after a week long cruise that left port February 29.  He had already been back to work three days when he was notified! His goofy wife doesn’t ‘feel’ she has to quarantine although she was on the same cruise with him.) I’m not understanding the logic there. I sure hope they aren’t attending any campouts this month!

Mark helped Marky Mark for a couple of hours putting up drywall on his kitchen ceiling. He bought 12 foot sheets of drywall ... too heavy for 1 guy. I didn’t go over to look as it would’ve been too dusty for me. I still have a sinus headache from the live oak tree pollen that began last Tuesday.

Tonight was Yaya‘s at Lynn‘s. It was a rather subdued group of about 14. If you didn’t stay too long, just kind of popped in to say hello and left. I think this virus is getting on everybody’s nerves.

Me, Kim and Corinne at Lynn’s.

That’s Ozzie mooching around the table. Lynn gave him a dental chew treat and a few potato chips.

Lynn is really attached to Ozzie ... and Ozzie to Lynn. He sure good company for her and gets her out of the house for walking.

Mark went to the crazy gator with the guys for dinner tonight. There was Jim, Ken, Marky Mark and Mark. Bob would have gone with them, but Mark forgot to phone him. Men 🙄. That’s it for tonight.

Wednesday, March 11, 2020

Wednesday, March 11, 2020

Good morning sunshine! It’s a typical March morning here in Central Florida. 😎 Mark went for his first $1200 dental appointment ... and is very numb at the moment. He doesn’t go back til April for the final crown.

Yesterday’s game day was an awakening on the confusion and stubbornness of people to alter their lifestyles even a little bit. I suggested fist pumps as a greeting during this flu-season/pandemic era. An hour later they were back to hugs and kisses. 🙄

LaDonna phoned us, just home from her doctor appointment ... and had to cancel the upcoming RV weekend. That’s disappointing but better safe than sorry. Because of her autoimmune disease getting the virus would be a death sentence. Things have been underreported according to the doctor. She told LaDonna that it’s a fact that as being a health care provider she will get Covid-19. Three people the doctor knows have died from it already ... the 1st contracted the virus ðŸĶ  ... the 2nd was the caregiver ... the 3rd was the neighbor who drove #2 to the hospital. That’s sobering ... and it’s not being reported accurately in our news. LaDonna was told to sit no closer than 6’ from others. Scary. Although Mark and I don’t have any autoimmune diseases (that we know of) we have both had bronchitis which is a problem and I’ve had pneumonia which is a huge problem. Hmmm, maybe we should cancel our RV trips this month?

OK, enough information, let’s get on with life. This afternoon we cleaned out the doggies toybox and tossed out a couple of old things that were torn up.

But there’s nothing to play with mom! 💕ðŸū BZ‘s seventh birthday is coming up April 14, so I must come up with some new toy ideas!

Mark has been puttering around in the backyard today, and planted our homegrown avocado tree! He started it about four years ago from a couple of avocado ðŸĨ‘ pits!

It looks pretty puny now, but hopefully it will take off now that it is being planted in the ground. Who’s ready for some guacamole? 😂

Tuesday, March 10, 2020

Tuesday, March 10, 2020

Good afternoon. It’s been a busy day around our place. This morning, we got our chores done, Mark fertilized the lawn while the dogs enjoyed an hour outside in the sunshine.

I got all the chores done and prepared for a game day. My allergies have been acting up the last few days which result in a sinus headache. Never mind, by the time I had a second wine at Pat’s house, I wasn’t thinking about my headache. ðŸĪŠ I was the big winner today playing Phase 10 ... which made me a target of the Skip cards. ðŸĪ·‍♀️ There was a big group of gals today ... all to see Pat’s new castle. (And a castle it is!!! All the rooms are spacious with plenty of light pouring in. It’s a 3/2 with a pool on a big corner canal lot. They got a great deal on it ... painted and new flooring throughout.) Nice ... we’re happy for them!

Randy & Dawn took their boat out for a cruise on Lake Dora today.

We’re glad they’re using it. Randy said when they pulled into the dock Dawn just stepped off and held the boat till he got off to tie it up. Perfect. Well done. It was good they got practice in before Dawn‘s mom arrives on the 20th. 😜

After dinner, Mark and I and the doggies sat outback with our new propane fireplace. He enjoyed his scotch, and me a seltzer water. I had wine at Pat’s earlier.

Nice eh!

The colored glass is mesmerizing.

Back inside, Robbie and BeeZee were ready for TV ... “Weeds” is great!

Tomorrow, Mark goes to the dentist for a crown. This will be the start of a long expensive process for us both.

I phoned Rick earlier in the afternoon to see how he and Ruth are doing. Rick is going for antibiotic IV at the hospital daily. This is a very serious infection he has in his leg. Although he’s not positive how he got the infection, he said the Mexican streets are very dirty and it’s possible he picked it up from cracks in his heels. Yikes. He is having to sit and keep his leg elevated 20 hours a day! (I can imagine Ruth is handling the household chores while he’s watching!) It’s got to be tough for them both. We’re glad you are safely back in Canada.

That’s it for tonight. Tata till tomorrow.
