HALLOWEEN 2018

Happy Halloween 🎃

I’m a human pumpkin 🎃 😜

Arooooo

Randy, with lovely(?)  long hair!

Witchy Woman ... lookin’ good!

Funny how Sue and I are devils! 😜 Hello Count Dracula 🧛‍♂️

Karen & Pete sent a pic to their kids ... we’ll be haunting you. 👻

Haha, what can I say? 🎃

Loretta & Pete ... I didn’t recognize them til they got on their Trike.

This evening, we went to Palm Gardens for dinner with Lani, Marky-Mark, Randy and Dawn. The steaks were awesome, and Randy said the chicken was very nicely done. It was an absolutely gorgeous evening sitting out at the waterfront.

A perfect evening!

That’s it, we are back home. Sue and Wayne went to the yacht club for dinner tonight. I’m sure they’re having a fun time. Trick or treat!

Tuesday, October 30, 2018

Good morning. Well, actually it was a very early morning. I looked at my clock and it said 6:50 so I thought no sense going back to sleep, just get up and get the day going. I must’ve made some racket taking the dogs out back as a minute or two later Mark appeared in the living room, wide-awake. So he put coffee on while I turned the TV on and we sat there about a half hour before I happened to notice that the TV clock said 446. 🤔 🙄 😁

It WAS great to get an early start as it’s 11 o’clock and we’re virtually FINISHED! Yay.

Cute, eh.

We’re worn out today ... forgot to take pictures.

Ha!

Monday, October 29, 2018

Good morning! It’s a (relatively) cool start to our workday Monday. There’s lots to be done emptying our Grand Junction. I swear, we have every kitchen appliance known to man in there! (Crockpot, toaster, blender, mixer, kettle, electric knife (?), coffee maker ... then dinnerware for 12!) Perhaps we will get down to cutlery for 8? 😁 OMG this rig is going to weigh a ton less!

While I am emptying drawers and cabinets inside, Mark is washing the roof. We’d hate to turn it in not looking good.

Our neighbors Marky-Mark and Lani are in town and puttering about on their properties. Perhaps Wednesday we can go for steak dinner with them!

Friday, after we pick up our new rig, we are going to meet Pete and Karen for dinner. They are doing about the same thing this week as their rig sold during the rally!

RanDawn like the back door ... says they can sneak in late at night. 💤

Something I always wanted in the GJ was a desktop/vanity ... and there it is on the right corner of the picture! 👍🏻

Marky Mark popped over for a cocktail on the front porch with us about 5 o’clock. We have all been working hard all day and deserved. So there. Then, Lew came over saying there was a geyser on his boat house. Ha ha, Marky Mark’s sprinkler system finally kicked in. LOL

Now, it’s 830, just finished dinner and it’s time to relax and watch TV.

Sunday, October 28, 2018

It was 54F this morning when Mark walked the kiddos but it was warm enough in the Grand Junction. This was our last campout before picking up our new Forest River Brookstone next Friday. It’s only money and ya can’t take it with you, apparently. 😜

The new beast is a 40’ with 5 slides, a king bed for us and queen beds on the fold out. (Dawn and Randy proclaimed the guest bed(s) as very comfy, no bar in this style of foldout.) 🤔

When we left Clermont today we planned on getting a few pictures but the rig was already off to the Winter Garden shop for predelivery.

Back home around 1230, we began emptying the rig and I started the laundry. Our new rig has washer and dryer hook ups, but we are going to wait and install later if we want. So now the sorting has begun and the garage is looking like a whirlwind over took it. Ha ha.

So that’s our big news for today.

Saturday, October 27, 2018

Haha. It’s a gorgeous start to our DAY 4 of the RALLY. Randy & Dawn arrived about 2 o’clock yesterday, maybe closer to 3 o’clock with chilled champagne. Of course this meant it had to be consumed while it was cold. Ha ha! Mark and I had already been at happy hour for two hours with Liz & Dexter. Tweet tweet.

After that, we got changed and headed over four 5 o’clock happy hour, the 530 tribute to the owner Don who passed away last January, and then dinner. There were tears shed for Don. His 4 children inherited the business equally and have been working in the business for years. We’re in good hands as far as the VIP club goes. ✅

TUSK was good ... a Fleetwood Mac tribute band from Pennsylvania. RanDawn danced a lot. Excellent time.  When we got home, Brenda and Mark arrived with gourmet chocolate covered potato chips! I think we were in bed before 11.

So, what does this picture say 🤔

Mark ... oh noooo ... Julie ... schweet ❤️

After this ... we went to the GRW Carnival where Randy won ...

He scores!

My goofy form for ring toss ... yay! Coconut Rum.

So now we’re sitting on the patio with the kiddos.

Happy Anniversary to us!

The Monster Mash was a huge success.

Randy and Dawn fully participated ... no one recognized them for sure.

We went as a pair of devils ... Poor devils Mark said. 😜

Dennis and his wife were scary clowns. Phenomenal costumes with 75% dressed up!

Dexter and Liz ... just as we sat down. We got great seats to watch the band!

It was my lucky day! We won a year of free camping with Thousand Trails! It’s a $575 value; sweet.

I think the Southeast Zone would be our best choice of region.

Ray and his wife Karen had great costumes ... that’s Derek in front.

Well, as you can see we had a blast and even danced A LOT. When we got back to the rig Dawn wanted “just 1 more” 😂 so we sat on the patio for an hour.

More tomorrow on our new purchase.

ANNIVERSARY October 26, 2018

Happy happy happy 24th Anniversary!  Mark and I were up early enough for the hot breakfast at Rally Central. Delicious. We sat with Liz, Dexter, Rich and “Lieutenant Dan.” Afterward we headed back to tidy the RV before RanDawn arrive about noon.

Drat, it’s raining. Oh well, we’re off to look through more RVs on display! Wow, there was one we both like.

Dressed for dinner.

At the dinner; lots of fun. Happy Anniversary sweetie! ❤️

OK kids all right something tomorrow, things got pretty hairy today.

Thursday, October 25, 2018

Oh we are lazy this morning! It’s a nice sunny start with to our fun-filled day. Mark’s cooking us bacon and eggs before we take the dogs for a ride on the golf cart. The place is teeming with Sandhill cranes ... what’s Robbie going to think 🤔 ?

It’s a huge park and was about an hour of cruising about with Robs and Bee. They were so well behaved! After their ride we took the golf cart to look at the 5th wheels on display. One we liked was a Chaparral, and as we found out later our friends Liz and Dexter liked it too. They might actually buy it.

At 1 o’clock, happy hour began, well the first one! We came home at 3, napped, fed and walked the kids then headed back for the 5 o’clock happy hour. Tonight’s dinner was THE BEST food we’ve ever had. Awesome   Wild Mushroom Lasagna Rolls, Chicken Piccata, Penne Pasta with Hearty Vegetable Marinara. I asked which restaurant catered but it’s a private person who makes his mother’s Italian (secret) recipes himself. Wow!

At 7:30 the first comedian came on and had us laughing. By the time the 2nd fellow came on the stage we were all giddy. He was from Portland, Oregon and works Royal Caribbean’s cruises. What a great evening.

Inside the $60,000 (rental) tent! Climate controlled and very comfortable!

Now it’s 9 o’clock and we’ve had a very full day! Tomorrow RanDawn join us for Friday and Saturday. (Hopefully they’ll be here for 1 o’clock happy hours til 3ish.) We’re dressing up for our 24th Anniversary tomorrow. Champagne anyone?

Wednesday, October 24, 2018

Good afternoon y’all. Mark and I left home at 10:20 arriving at Clermont Golf & RV Resort at 11:15. (It’s not far from home but there was a traffic jam at the bridge on 19 over Lake Harris! A new span has been under construction for about a year now; likely another year to go!

We got set up at Site 1126, across from Karen and Pete. (Boy, are they busy today!) First we looked around for the GRW golf cart rental area, found it finally, then had to find the attendant. The cart we got is very similar to The Caddy at home, a refurbished EZGO. Easy-peasy! This is a huge park and it’ll be fun to take Robs and Beez cruising.

Then, we took our donation to Veranda Hall for display. There were a lot of items there already, one caught my eye, a wine rack with 10 bottles! Alright!

Mz Bee with dad.

We just got home from the first evening’s show, The Comedy and Magic of Harry Maurer. He was crazy good! Im not a fan of magic shows but this was really something! We ran into several friends and sat with Karen and George from Wisconsin.

Tuesday, October 23, 2018

Hey there! It’s been a busy enough morning here and we still have to load the food fridge for our RV Rally trip tomorrow.

Mark worked a few hours readying things for MM & Lani’s arrival on Thursday night. They hope to relax and enjoy their boat plus spend time in Orlando with Lani’s dad. We’ll see them Sunday!

Meanwhile, Robbie, BeeZee and I took a cruise on The Caddy and checked out the new construction at the end of our street. Today, a huge tank is being installed. That gave Mz Bee something to bark about. 😁

Talking about doggies, Sue has reunited another fortunate owner with her missing dog. This little guy has been lost for 4 1/2 MONTHS! Here’s the text from Sue.

Well done Sue! You’re THE pet detective!

Tonight we’re going to RanDawn’s for a steak BBQ! Lucky 🍀 aren’t we!

Big T-bone steaks, baked potatoes and Caesar salad!

Mark’s happy with his “doggie bag!” Steak omelettes coming up.
😜

We were home earlier than usual; a ‘school-night’ for Dawn. 👍🏻  The Scotties had great tidbits tonight and they’ve now gone to their beds already. 💤

Robbie’s sacked out. 😁

Monday, October 22, 2018

Good morning sunshine! It’s a loverly 64F to start our day!

Ahem, 🎤 🎶 Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Randy, Happy Birthday to youuuu! 🎶

Hahaha ... perfect!

Last night ... Birthday 🎂 🥘 margaritas! F U N.

So today, I am getting clothes ready for the RV and Mark’s puttering around outside. By 2ish we had it pretty much ready for Wednesday. I checked in with Karen and she’s been down with the sinus infection too! Yikes!

Randy & Dawn phoned tonight. They had gone to a bar, Cody’s, a movie, then to The Villages for some dancing. When they called, they were on their way home and invited us for steak dinner tomorrow night. Schweet. It sounded like he had a wonderful birthday and was heading home to return a lot of phone calls from friends and family.

Marky-Mark and Lani texted that they’re on the way to Florida for 10 days. Too bad we’re away for half their time here, but we’ll get to see them Sunday.

Sunday, October 21, 2018

Good morning. It is a fabulous cooler start here in Central Florida. Mark is enjoying his morning hiking in the Ocala forest. (He saw 3 bucks, 3 does and a fawn!) Later today, we are meeting with Randy & Dawn and family at Mexico Del Sol to celebrate Randy’s birthday, which is officially tomorrow.

TODAY is Pam‘s birthday!

Happy Birthday Pam! May this be the best year yet for you! ❤️

Me? Yesterday must have been too much for my current sinus-infected body as I was sure coughing and hacking for an hour this morning. Yuck. (Yesterday was too much for Lew’s broken ribs, so he backed out of hiking with Mark today.)

Both Robbie and BeeZee are on SAM-e nowadays after their bloodwork. Scotties have higher liver enzymes than other breeds; it’s a fact. So, now we’re adding 200 mg milk thistle, 250 mg COQ10 and 200 mg SAM-e each, daily. Ca-Ching. 🤷‍♀️ 💰 Watching them eat is interesting ...

Robbie - 1st ground turkey, potatoes, mixed veggies and lastly, apple slices.

BeeZee - 1st Apple slices, Turkey, potatoes and lastly, mixed veggies.

So we found this cool dude for Randy’s birthday ... an OUTLAW ... Bad to the Gnome

Everyone NEEDS yard art. 😜  Stepdaughter Brittany thought the Gnome was a good resemblance. 🤣 We all had a laugh. (R also got a bottle of Crown Vanilla, birthday cards and a golf divot “fixer” custom made.

❤️ It was a fun evening, and I think everyone enjoyed it. Happy Birthday Randy ... you are loved ❤️

Saturday October 20, 2018

Good morning y’all. It’s another nice afternoon for our Oktoberfest gathering at Teegardens. We’ll load up the golf cart with lawn chairs and an appetizer and head over for 2 o’clock. My voice is still raspy, but I’m okay to go for awhile.

Ruth, Lynn, Nancy and me ...

Mark & Lew

There were 50 folks attending; good food and great weather at 87F and breezy. My throat is sore from talking!

Mark talked to aunt Jane yesterday. She’s selling her home in Fox Run and moving to a senior living condo nearby. Oh my! What’s she going to do with all her things! 😱 It’s a good plan, and little BoBo will move with her. Gettin’ old ain’t for sissies.

Maintenance is included with the monthly rental fee.  Jane likes the price for dinner at just $7 in the dining room. Home delivery is available for $1 extra. She will get her own breakfast and lunch.

Tomorrow we’ll pull the RV out and load up for the VIP Rally in Clermont. RanDawn are joining us for Friday and Saturday night. I sure hope they have fun.
