Wednesday, January 31, 2018

Good evening. It’s nearly 8 o’clock and I’m just beginning the blog. Ha. What a day it has been. First, Simplex workers arrived to repair hurricane damage to our metal roof. There was a lot of hammering and scraping going on while I was trying to do paperwork. My taxes are now ready to send to our CPA. ✅

Our house shingles are still under warranty and, coached by Scott Roofing, I made a claim with Owens-Corning. There’s a lot of paperwork and copies to submit which I have done. We’ve been waiting and phoning trying to get the roofer out to remove the damaged shingles to mail to Owens-Corning. Now, if we don’t have the claim finalized within the next few days, our claim will be canceled. So, I asked Mark to get on the roof and take the photos, remove two sample strips of shingles and put new strips on. We wouldn’t have gotten into this had the roofer from Scott not suggested it and offered that he would do the shingle removal and photos for us. Whatever.

Mark made a comprehensive list, so we thought, and headed off to the grocery store. When he got home I realized we didn’t have a potato on the list for the doggies supper. We have gone grain-free with their food and they seem to be enjoying their meals with either a potato, sweet potato and minced vegetables. Anyway, we had some sweet potato for them tonight.

Dawn texted me to say my glasses were ready at Walmart. Also, my prescription was ready!  Great news, so we set off at 1:30 to do a few errands along the way. Since this prescription is not covered by our very generous insurance, my dermatologist gave me a GoodRX card which gives quite a large discount ... like from $174 to $74. When I dropped off the paper work yesterday, the clerk took down the GoodRX card info. Well, after standing in a long line to pick up my prescription, the clerk rang up a huge amount. 😱 So ... I had to go to the other wicket which meant standing in line again. 🙄 As it turned out, having that card doesn’t necessarily mean you’re going to get your prescription for the reduced amount. Now you have to go onto their website, find your medication and see what prices are at various pharmacies. The price was a little more than what my DERMATOLOGIST showed me yesterday. However, I did end up with a very good price but had to stand in the other line again. 😤 45 minutes later, I walked over to the Vision Center and picked up my glasses 👓. THAT was simple! Thank you Dawn. ❤️ They are perfect!

This evening, Mark and I watched the last two episodes of Outlander, then cancelled STARZ until Season 4 begins. $$$✅

Tuesday, January 30, 2018

Good afternoon. This day disappeared in a flurry. We started with dermatologist appointments and then Mark picked up the n ew golf cart batteries. Yahoo! Now we’re waiting for new battery cables to arrive, and new seat covers. Schweet.

I was busy decorating the dining room for our Valentine’s dinner ... and readying the menu. Tonight, we are going to Randy and Dawn for dinner. The dogs are along for the ride. 😍

Rose arrives at Sue and Wayne’s today from Winnipeg. Her flight was delayed yesterday for mechanical reasons. Welcome Rose! 💕

Dinner was delicious ...Caesar salad, tuna steaks and broccoli. (We sat outside until the sun went down.) Randy spotted the big ol’ moon 🌝 ...

YES, that’s the moon! WOWSA ... I believe tomorrow night is an eclipse! This is a SUPER BLUE BLOOD MOON.

We called Rick on FaceTime, but perhaps after too much wine. Ha ha Ha. Well, we’re quite excited to hear they are under contract and a deposit made. ✅ Sweet ... fingers crossed 🤞 everything goes well through closing.

WE Celebrated Rick’s good news with a bottle of RedDiamond. Speaking of diamonds, we were blasting Neil Diamond after dinner. 🎶❤️

Back home, watching the news with our Scotties on our laps. Ta Ta TIL tomorrow.

Monday, January 29, 2018

Good evening! It’s been a busy day here. The front door was open all day ... lovely! Robbie worked hard keeping the Ibis from our yard. Actually, even 2 lots away the Ibis received a Scottish war cry. 🐾💕😂

Mark ran errands this morning to Lowes with a long list and then to a golf cart store in Eustis to order new batteries. ❤️ What a great birthday pressie! He worked all day shoring up the frame and painting. Speaking of painting ... Sea Foam Green paint is on order. ✅ It’ll be like a new golf  cart.

Me? Monday = Laundry ... plus ironed 4 ginormous tablecloths. I still have 1 to do but need a table pad before that cloth goes on. After that, I reorganized my craft room and made space for Donny to put things when he visits next month. After all that sorting out I have another box of donations for the HS shop. 🤪

Tomorrow morning is our dermatologist checkups then Walmart shopping. Fun eh?

RanDawn phoned to invite us for dinner tomorrow evening! Nice. We’re looking forward to seeing their new flowers.

Sunday, January 28, 2018

Good morning 🌞 ... it’s a lovely day in the neighborhood. Of course the front door was open for hours. Both dogs enjoy watching the birds and squirrels and dog walkers. Fun for them. 🐾💕

Mark began work on the golf cart, removing the batteries and cleaning the frame. It’s a BIG job by the look of it. Perhaps a fresh coat of paint?

The Caddy lost 5 lbs of rust and dirt from around the batteries!

Me? I had dining room decorating ... Valentine’s planning is underway. 😋

We had a text from our ‘new’ neighbors who are back in Canada right now. They sent a picture of their old dog Jake enjoying a walk in the woods.

Jake is TWENTY years young! 🐾💕 He’s a tall Jack Russell. (They lost their younger dog (16) 10 days ago.) Jake was lost without his pal!

This evening we’re ‘vited to join RanDawn at Stavros for Brandon’s birthday fun.

Randy and Makenna at Stavros. ❤️

Randy, Makenna, Dawn & Charlotte.

Scary fun ... Charlotte liked Mark in the glasses.

Makenna, Brittany, Alan & Brandon.

After a fun evening at Stavros, Randy and Dawn came over, we lit the fire and poured some wine. After a glass of wine we decided to phone Rick and sing 🎶 a song for him! “Won’t you be my neighbor?”  Hahaha ... turns out Carrie was home too. 😬 Haha. 😜

We’re rather excited to have Rooster and Ruth join the ‘hood. ❤️

Saturday, January 27, 2018

Good morning! We’re off to a wedding celebration for Deenna & Eddie today, complete with bagpipes. Well now that’s something different. The PARTAY is at Sharon & Art’s home in Scottish Highlands.

We arrived at 2 while the bagpiper was warming up ... got 🍷 and waited for the happy couple to arrive. Their two daughters (from the FIRST time they were married) couldn’t be here for this party (attended ceremony in New York) but arranged for a piper from Orlando to walk them in. It was fun ...

Back home before 5 I took the Scotties for a golf cart ride around the ‘hood. Rain is forecast tomorrow afternoon so it’s now covered for a day. Mark suggested new batteries for my birthday! Yay! We’ll be able to venture much further.

Mark thought I’d find this funny ...

and I did laugh ... but hey, it makes shopping easier. 😊

Tonight, Sue and Wayne are having dinner at the home of friends they met through the yacht club. Nice.

Randy worked all day on his projects. Tomorrow they’re celebrating Dawn’s son’s birthday with family.

So that was our day! Now it’s Telly then bed.

Friday, January 26, 2018

Good evening. Somehow, it’s been a very busy day. We began with a trip to the dermatologist, then Walmart to order some reading glasses for me ... (thank you Dawn!) and do a bit of shopping. While we were at Wally, Rick M called to ask about the property across the street from us. Jump forward 5 hours and our buds Rick & Ruth are negotiating on the property! 🥂🍾 WOWSA ... we’re speechless. (Well, not really ... 🎹 🎶 It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood a beautiful day in the neighborhood won’t you be my neighbor?😜🎶🎹)

😂

Tonight, we are home relaxing with the doggies and a lovely fire crackling away.

Thursday, January 25, 2018

Good morning. Well, it wasn’t user error on my part as to why photos wouldn’t load onto yesterday‘s blog. Google discontinued, without warning, some services which made it impossible to load photos. A fix was made last night so I added the cutest picture of my BeeZee on yesterday‘s blog. (I’m just glad it wasn’t my user error. Ha ha.)

Today is game day at friend Elaine‘s home. Since Mark needs the Kia for his chiropractor appointment, I will go on the golf cart. I love it. with any luck, some new batteries will be in the budget for my birthday. 😜

Well, I picked up Carin who was walking down the street. She got at least half way on the dog’s tray-so-we putted down  the road.  Elaine’s game day was a hoot. We played Balderdash ... 😱 ... finally headed home about 5 o’clock.

Randy and Dawn worked around their yard planting flowers in the new pots. It looks fantastic. Here’s a sampling…

It won’t be long until Bob and Jill arrive for a three week vacation! 👍🏻 Pam and Donny will be arriving February 10th! 😍 It’ll be a FUN time.

It’s evening, Mark and I had a nice fire; enjoyed a couple of our shows, wine and our doggies. 🐾💕

Wednesday, January 24, 2018

Good morning. It’s another bright beautiful sunshiny day. Mark is going to the forest to remove his hunting stands. It’s a good part of his R&R.

Me? More paperwork, paying bills and working on taxes. 🧐

Mz BZ, my assistant 🐾💕

We are quite excited that a realtor has put an offer on the house across the street. If he intends to flip it, as he says, it would be a quick fix up. That would be great. We’ve been looking at this decrepit property since the owner died eight years ago. And, he being an old man at the time of his death, the property had gone into disrepair then!

It was an evening of fussing around with my blog. Apparently google had unexpectedly stopped photos from being added. The blog develop her created a change which allows photos again. So, my alarm from last night was for naught. Whew!

Tuesday, January 23, 2018

Tuesday, January 23, 2018

Good morning. We were up and happy to see the sunshine. After last evening’s rain showers, the air is clean and fresh. Mark open the front door and saw the Ibis on our lawn and Cardinals in the birdfeeder. Life is good.

While Mark greased the bearings on the RV, I began the tax prep work. Now the sunroom looks like a tornado went through. OMG, did you see there was an 8.0 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Alaska, and tsunami warnings all the way down the West Coast! When we traveled along there in 2012, we were amazed at the waterfront roads that had tsunami warnings. Several of the areas we stayed were in a tsunami zone. Yikes!

Scott phoned to ask questions about selling on eBay. He had good laugh over the blog from our weekend adventures. The weather in Connecticut is rainy today, in the 40’s. That’s much preferred to the ice jams in the area last week.

So, while I am sorting tax papers and getting organized, I am watching Ancient Aliens 👽! Beam me up Scotty! 😜

Monday, January 22, 2018

Good morning y’all from sunny Central Florida! It’s good to have the front door open while we empty the RV.  So, it laundry for me between the chores.

There’s a rainy front headed our way ... nice, it’ll rinse off some salty residue.

I neglected to post there was a reunion of sorts;

Randy found his old man. 😂 It was another good laugh on our Saturday Matlacha shuffle.

Rick M called this evening. The “wilderness” house across the street from us finally has gone through probate. It is now available for sale. Rick and Ruth are pretty busy at their farm building a place for daughter Carrie and her children. Rick would like to start another project, but he’s only 50% through the carriage house one! Maybe will still be on the market when he’s interested.

We relaxed and watched a little TV tonight and waited for the rain to arrive. Tomorrow, Mark will grease the bearings on the RV and we will but it to bed. Speaking of bed, I’m off to bed. 😴

Sunday, January 21, 2018

It was a mega-fun weekend. Dawn and I raced off to CVS for bargains before we pulled out at 11 o’clock. We came back to the rig with leggings, shirts and Christmas paper! Yup, it was a good sale.

Randy had packed up the basement area and the guys were sitting outside enjoying some sunshine by the time we arrived back from shopping.

Now it’s 3 o’clock and we’re rolling along on I-75. with an hour to go. At 4 o’clock, we were back home, wine poured and watching the football game. Randy and Dawn took Mark and I to Stavros for dinner tonight. It was a perfect end to a terrific weekend. Tons of fun, Loads of laughs.

Sitting at a traffic light, Dawn read this sign aloud and  said, That’s not very nice; I wouldn’t give them a junk car for just $4. !!!”

Mark and Randy both burst out laughing as they read the sign to say “ dollars for junk cars 🚙.”  Heeheehee. Then, we all had a good belly laugh.

Well, as we said, it was a great time. Tata for now

Saturday, January 20, 2018

Saturday, January 20, 2018

Good late morning! Randy’s cooking breakfast while Mark gives Dawn and I a “maintenance test.”  I scored 24 and Dawn 47; so we offered to forego our beauty routines ... then the guys decided we weren’t high maintenance after all. 🤣

Chef Staggerman and Patron Romay-o ... with my DSO on the table.

Heeheehee ... rather than shower on board, Randy strutted off to the campground facilities with a blue Winn-Dixie bag. When he came back we heard the story. First, he got there and a urinal was running, flooding the floor. Randy thought it through and decided if he called maintenance they’d turn the water off to the whole building. He fiddled with the urinal handle and got the water 💦 stopped. Sweet. Next he found a shower stall ... dropped a shaving mirror (luckily it didn’t break!) forgot the shaving cream at the RV but shaved using soap anyway, quite proud of himself for his ingenuity. Ha! Then Randy realized he’d forgotten to bring a towel. 😮 OMG when Dawn and I heard the tale, we burst out laughing. 🤣

This afternoon, we went shopping in the little fishing village of Matlacha. It was great fun. But, the first stop was at the Blue Dog Saloon.

Nice tooth Mark. Haha.

The food sure looked good ... but we had beer 🍻 Cheers! Afterward we did the Matlacha shuffle in and out of the cute shops!

RanDawn bought a Christmas ornament for their tree. (I bought super-cute print leggings at CVS.)

We sat outside on the patio for an hour in the afternoon when the sun came out. At 6 o’clock we headed to the clubhouse for island chicken dinner. Afterwards, it was game night.

Playing Left Right Center at the clubhouse ... Mitzie won all 35 - $5 scratchoffs! It was tons of fun. Afterward we sat outside around the fire pit and told stories. (Wine was involved.)

Gettin’ the super-cute boots off. 🤣 (6 pair onboard for the weekend.) 😂

Randy was absolutely blown away when Dawn said they had to get up early in the morning to tidy up “their” muddle.

Ha ha, Randy had not unpacked yet. All the drawers and cabinets were full. 😜

Yup, it’s bedtime ... hope there isn’t a quake in the night or we’ll never find them. 🤣

We had a great time tonight, but it’s off to bed. Ta Ta.

Friday, January 19, 2018

Good evening! Ha! It’s been a busy day with sightseeing, visiting Mary & Doug in Bookelia. We popped in to the RV to check on Robbie and Bee then headed to the Ragged Ass for cocktails!

Love those boots Dawn!

Mary with Boo, Doug, me and Mark at their beautiful home on the water.

At Bert’s Bar last night ... it was great.

Pretty sunset.

Tonight we had a potluck dinner at the clubhouse. Mark scoped out where we had to go, loaded up the chicken, poured wines and we marched over to “the clubhouse.” Ha! No one was there! Randy thought it was hilarious and wished he had a camera! So, we had to walk back, get the truck and drive about looking for the party. Hahaha. Turned out it was “in the church” ... where we never thought to look.

After dinner we sat around a bonfire and heard lots of stories and laughed.

Thursday, January 18, 2018

Good morning from Central Florida where it is sunny but very cold. We had to cover a few of our delicate plants! And, there is ice on the birdbath. Yikes! On TV, Good Morning America showed a picture of the  Gulfstream with sea smoke streaming from it. That’s the coldest and 27 years. More Yikes! Brrr

Meanwell, Mark has run to the bank with a check from our insurance company. 10 days ago I deposited it via mobile banking. Everything seemed fine until yesterday when I got a notice from the bank. What the heck, why did that take 10 days?  I tried to rectify it on the phone last night and after an hour of fussing around with Bank of America we have to physically take it to the bank today. So, Mark is on his way with the check to deposit. This puts us back on our leaving for Saint James Island.

We were on the road by 940, all happy to get in the truck with the heater going. Traffic was light until we got to number 78 going onto Pine Island. There’s only one way on and off, so you just have to go for it. The scenery was beautiful and we saw some cool spots for drinks. 🌴🍻

After a few rest area stops and one lunch break in an empty CVS parking lot we made it to KOA Pine Island. It’s a big park, very tidy.

After happy hour and feeding our dogs, we went to Bert’s bar and grill. The place was packed but we did find a table for four. We had a good dinner, extremely fresh fish; Mark and Dawn shared an order of smelts! The food was good ... and then a fab 7 piece band. RanDawn danced while Mark and I held the table down. 👍🏻 It was a fun night.

Wednesday, January 17, 2018

Good morning. We’re both awake at 5 and watching Stephen Colbert; lots of belly laughs over the “raw water” skit. Why are we up so early? No idea.

It’s cousin Elliot’s 22nd birthday ... artist and owner of DEBT, radically different art. Happy Birthday 🎂 young man.

It’s Linda’s birthday too, sadly missed. Never forgotten. 💔

Have you seen the latest fun on Facebook? Everyone’s sharing a selfie for a facial recognition app that matches you to an old museum portrait. It’s fun ...

Well, any resemblance?

So today was my ladies luncheon at Fish Camp on Lake Eustis. We were 18 strong! It was beautiful looking over the water. The restaurant has added a shade roof on the patio, necessary for the summer months. We had a fun time ... food great and good service. ✅

Mark made a trip to the grocery store for a few weekend items.

Then, he cooked plenty of chicken for the upcoming RV pot luck meal for Friday night.

The first batch of (what will be) “Island Pineapple 🍍 Chicken.”

Our tender patio plants are wrapped as it’s a possible hard freeze night ... several hours of 31F. Yikes. Hope you’re staying warm where you are. Ta Ta til the morrow.

Tuesday, January 16, 2018

Tuesday, January 16, 2018

Good afternoon! It’s been a busy one here prepping for a super long weekend of RVing at Fort Myers beach 🏖 area.

Meanwhile, Sue and Wayne are prepping for a trip to the super RV show in Tampa. If the timing was right, we would be there too. Perhaps they’ll come over to Fort Myers Beach afterward?

After a very busy day of packing and cleaning, Randy and Dawn came over to put a few things into the RV and have a glass of wine before we went to dinner at Plaza Guadalajara. Randy laughed as Dawn stole things into the empty drawers and cabinets. You see, he hadn’t brought any of his things yet. Silly silly boy. 😂

At Guadalajara, Mark dropped me off at the door because I was wearing some high-heeled boots, super cute, and Randy then dropped Dawn off at the door because she was wearing some super cute jelly pops. Well, we girls strutted in and got a booth in the back and ordered our drinks. Several minutes passed. Unknown to we girls, Randy and Mark had arrived and asked where the “two girls” were seated. A waiter took them to a booth. Randy peered around the back and jumped back shocked! He said to the waiter “No no, we’re looking for 2 YOUNG girls! I thought that was my GRANDMOTHER!” 🤣 When Dawn and I heard the story we predicted some “Just for Men” in Randy and Mark’s immediate future. 🤨

Back home now it’s time for TV and a nightcap. 🍷 It was a good day. Ta Ta.

Monday, January 15, 2018

Monday, January 15, 2018

Good morning sunshine! It’s a government holiday celebrating Martin Luther King.

Our first task of the day was to get an estimate to replace our living room laminate flooring. Yes, this is (still) hurricane damage. What the heck. Well, Mark phoned the company just before 10 ... and it seemed many employees had called in sick today. (It’s not a paid holiday.) 🤔 So, we had to reschedule for later in the day.

Next ... we pulled the RV out for our upcoming trip to Ft. Myers Beach ... with Randy and Dawn. It’s our first Giant Recreation campout of  2018! Thursday night we do our own thing ... Friday night is a potluck dinner party, then Saturday night is a catered “Island” dinner party.

😎🌴 🏊 🍸

But first we had to get our rig out of its port! Today just wasn’t going to be easy! We tighter to the RVport’s stanchions than usual so Mark stacked boards so the trailer tires would roll up onto them and tilt the RV away from the stanchions so we could clear the slide covers. Well, we nearly made it. 😱 Guess we’ll be getting new canvas for our slide covers next. 🤨

At 3 o’clock Jason from Floors of Distinction arrived as promised and measured our living room area carefully. If we can get insurance for it we’ll replace with luxury vinyl plank floating floor. Although we’ve enjoyed the hardwood laminate, we’re not happy with the water damaged look. Rats. The thing is, there’s no “fixing it” once wet.

Now it’s happy hour and Robbie’s sitting on my lap ... there’s a fire 🔥 burning and wine. Life is good. 👍🏻

🍻

In other news, Sue and Wayne are out to dinner at Bonefish Grille ...

Randy and Dawn are running errands and buying plants for their new plant pots. 🥀

Otherwise, it’s just been a lazy day around here. Ha.  I spent several hours getting listings ready for eBay. I won’t publish til we’re back from our little trip.

Sunday, January 14, 2018

Sunday, January 14, 2018

Good morning from sunny Central Florida. Mz BeeZee and I were up and outside at five this morning. Apparently, neither of us can switch our internal clocks from daylight savings time. Every year we ask, well I do, not so much BeeZee, why do we have to change? Why can’t Florida just stay on daylight savings time? Let’s make it happen folks!

I worked on eBay listings today while Mark built a squirrel proof bird feeder. His design has merit ... allegedly the squirrels can’t climb slick plastic!

It was quite the project ... so we shall see.

This afternoon, we went to visit aunt Jane. We will be out of town when Cliff’s memorial is on January 20. We took over a picture of Cliff and his little dog Beau-Beau that she can display at his ceremony. We were happy to hear that her daughter will be arriving on Wednesday. It was a nice visit, we drank a bottle of champagne to celebrate New Year’s with her. 🥂🍾

Back at home, Rod and Shay phoned to tell us all about their adventures getting involved in their new neighborhood! (Count us as surprised!) They joined pickle ball and had a blast, went to a community breakfast and tomorrow, are joining the putt putt golfing tournament! Here’s a picture of Shay practicing!

You GO GIRL ... and they have a fancy golf ⛳️ cart! Life is good. ✅

After our visit with aunt Jane and a long talk with Rod and Shay, we had dinner watching the football game in front of the fireplace.

Sweet.

Saturday, January 13, 2018

Saturday, January 13, 2018

Good morning. After breakfast, Mark was off to the post office with our recent eBay sales and to grocery shop. I promised to call aunt Jane and set up a time to pop in with a picture we had framed of her late fiancé Cliff.

We had a great afternoon with a lovely fire, reading and TV. Later on, Lynn and Lew invited us for a Mexican Dominoes game. We had fun, wine, eBay and politics. Well, 3 out of 4 were fun. 😱

This is Ella, a gorgeous Scottie of Bonnie and Roger’s, cousin of Belize. We wish her well finishing her championship so she can go home to Oklahoma. (I couldn’t do it; be strong BonRog.)

We were home at 10:30 and the kids were waiting. We had fun with Lynn and Lew, good pals after 15 years as neighbors. ❤️ We are blessed as they say in the south ... and so we are. Life is good.

Sue and Wayne had an evening at the CRYC ... which I bet was fun. There’s a cool front moving in for us all, again this week.

Well, that was our regular day in beautiful Florida. 🌴🌝

Friday, January 12, 2017

Good morning 😃 ... I was up way too early! The moon 🌝 and Mz Bee are my only company. 🐾💕

Today is Sue and Wayne’s 44th anniversary! 🥂🍾❤️ Cheers to many, many more. They’re celebrating at home tonight with a special dinner. Happy Anniversary you two!

Last evening’s Chili 🌶 dinner at RanDawn’s was fun for the doggies too!

Robbie was at the bar with Uncle Randy. 💕🐾  Barstools are his thing. Ha. We watched the noisy whistle ducks trying to land nearby. Randy claps his hands to chase them away. It was exciting for the Scotties.

Friday is usually housekeeping day and today was no exception. Mark started on the exterior windows while I did the inside vacuuming etc. 😐

We had 2 eBay sales today! Wow, they are few and far between lately. I packed them up for shipping tomorrow.

Tonight was perfect for a front porch happy hour.

Cheers!

Tonight, is TV time. 🍷

Thursday, January 11, 2018

Thursday, January 11, 2018

Good morning y’all. There’s nothing planned today, just puttering about.

Ha! Well, we decided a putt-putt cruise down Haines Creek would be a perfect afternoon venture. The Scotties are always ready for fun ...

So here’s Mz BeeZee sitting with her daddy ❤️

Robbie relaxes on the boat, he loves it. 🐾💕

We went by the rookery tree ... 25 cormorant nests this year! There were a lot of hungry chicks 🐥 squawking.

Dawn phoned and invited us for Chili 🌶 ... and we said YES! It was delicious ... two helpings each! We sat on the back porch and enjoyed the water view with whistle ducks flying around. Robbie and BeeZee were invited, sat at the bar and enjoyed carrots from Dawn. We all had F U N.

Home by 930 ... a good day. ✅

Wednesday, January 10, 2018

Wednesday, January 10, 2017

Good morning. We awoke to rain on the roof and 2 Scottie dogs who refused to go outside for potty. Ha ha. Where are the Highland dogs who allegedly like rain and cool weather. Well they do not reside here in Central Florida. Ha ha ha. So, Mark got up and took them for a walk.

It’s supposed to be rainy on and off, so we plan to do a few errands this morning. We needed a stop at the post office and then onto buy a wedding card and a housewarming card. After work, Mark wanted to run into the grocery store for a few things. The doggies were with us and enjoyed the ride. Where but Florida can you watch sandhill cranes from  the grocery store parking lot?

This afternoon, I took the kids for a ride on the golf cart between rain showers. We had fun! 😁

This evening, we met Randy and Dawn at Tiki West for date night. They had a pound of shrimp for $8.99 and 10 boneless wings for $5 ... Mark and I shared both dishes; great! The place was packed! We could hardly believe they are still doing road work in front of the place. This is been ongoing for a good six months.

So in Wayne had an evening at the yacht club and came home to heavy rain in their area. All’s well .. tomorrow’s going to be a beautiful day. That’s it for now.

Tuesday, January 9, 2018

Tuesday, January 9, 2018

Good evening y’all. Mark and I needed a quote on living room flooring from “Irma” damage. Empire showed up and Mark nearly fell over; the fellow Nicholas looks like nephew Gregg’s twin. I arrived home a few minutes later from game day at Rose’s and thought the same! Gregg! Plus, they sound identical. 😱

Anyway, we were able to get a quote from a reliable company we have dealt with before. Now I can get it into the insurance company and see what they say. They certainly have some nice product.

Game day at Rose’s was a hoot ... we played Mexican dominoes, 10,000, and Rummicube. Much vino was consumed; plenty of giggles.

Meanwhile, Mark decided trimming the trees along the road was an important thing to get done today. When we pull our RV out of the neighborhood, we have to avoid branches, so that is now taken care of. 🌳 ✅

Monday, January 8, 2018

Monday, January 8, 2018

Good morning from sunny Central Florida. It was nice enough to have the front door open for a while, which makes Robbie and BeeZee very happy! Well, actually it makes Mark and I very happy too! 😎

After a hearty breakfast of sausage and eggs, Mark and I went to Lowe’s and DollarTree for a few items. Here’s the funny part though. Yesterday, I installed our new Conico baby cam cameras. We tested them and the microphone was working. Well, when we left today we sat in the driveway and watched what the dogs did. Robbie immediately started scruffing the front door carpet while BeeZee sat there looking at the door window. I turned on the microphone and said to Robs,

“Robbie, stop scruffing the rug!”

Well, the look on his face was hilarious. He seemed to look directly at the camera, turned his back to it and was more determined with his scruffing ... both front feet were going at it. 😱 It took two more attempts with the microphone and finally he sat down. We checked in a couple of times while we were shopping and both dogs were guarding the front door. Who knew? I thought they would’ve been up on the sofa or playing with their toys, but there they were, being good watchdogs. 🐾💕

We bought an orchid basket at Lowes and I put our two (old) plants into it with pine bark, potting soil and charcoal. Here’s hoping 🤞 ... I hung the planter from a tree limb by the shed; with diffused light and fairly sheltered from rain it should be good.

Hunting season is O V E R ... so Mark emptied the Mounty and washed everything. I think the old truck is riding higher now! 👍🏻

That was our day; nice and lazy. Tomorrow is game day!

Sunday, January 7, 2018

Good afternoon. The sun is shining, plants uncovered from shrouds and my lovely plants put back on the front porch. Thank heavens those five cold days are finished. The doggies and I sat on outside for a half hour and watched the birds return to the feeder.

Mark was up and out early this morning for the last day of deer hunting season. Yesterday, he saw five deer, not within range. Today, he saw nothing. The woods were completely quiet. This afternoon, his Buffalo Bill‘s team play so I know TV will be strictly football. It’s a good thing I am into a book at the moment.

Sue and Wayne took their doggies for breakfast this morning.

I guess it was chilly in Pompano Beach too! Julius and Shorty hot pants both have coats on. 🐾💕

Well I had better luck setting up the WIFI cameras today, no problem. It makes me think our WiFi was acting up yesterday.

Lew and Lynn saw us sitting on the front porch enjoying happy hour and came over with their wine to join us. Robbie and Belize had their frosty paws for happy hour! It was a fun time.
