Thursday, March 31, 2022

Good morning. It’s a bit of a gloomy looking day here, but in the mid 70s. You know us, when we don’t have our sunshine we miss it.

Mark and Bob went turkey hunting this morning, saw plenty of evidence of turkey around, but didn’t see any. It’s a rather gloomy and windy day. We are expecting rain on Saturday and Sunday, so it is a bit of that terrible front that is sweeping across the United States right now. However, we cannot complain as it is in the mid-70s and lovely.

So I found something, or rather it found me, on Facebook marketplace. I’ve been wanting a dresser for the guestroom. This popped up and when I got the measurements, it will fit just fine. So, Mark and Bob have hooked up the little trailer and are going to pick it up for me. Meanwhile, the seller says there is a hutch to go with it but the mirror is broken, and do I want it. I said heck yeah! So the boys are now picking up two pieces for me. I know it will need refinishing, but that’s part of the fun.

Guess we’ll call this the Before the before πŸ˜‚

Mark took the following pics as we disassembled it.

Drawers out … will eliminate the two left and two right smaller drawers!

Free hutch … no, we didn’t break the mirror!

The 4 drawers we’ll refinish!  Boom! A great project.

Tonight, we are meeting Sue and Wayne and our friends Dee and Rick for dinner. They’ll fit in nicely being RVers and dog parents. πŸ₯°

LEGENDS was a nice place! The menu was pretty extensive and food good. We’ll be back. It was so nice sitting there yakking while rain pummeled the streets. Fun evening!

Wednesday, March 30, 2022

Good evening. We met Kim, Bob, LaDonna, and Wayne at Tillie’s for supper tonight at 5:30. The L’s arrived first and ordered drinks. Ruh Ro! “Someone” failed to renew the liquor license so no hard liquor! Oh oh. That’s bad news for a bar as big as Tillie’s! Beer and wine was available, so we stayed. They were hurting for business … usually a packed restaurant was virtually empty. We ordered dinner … Tillie was in the kitchen cooking and our meals were very good.

We had lots of laughs but made it an early night as the guys are turkey hunting in the morning.

Heeheehee 🎢 love these Far Side cartoons.

Good morning from FOGGYVILLE aka spring in Central Florida! πŸ˜‚

Plans today after cooking breakfast, laundry and our general tidy up 🧹 … painting a fun face on a palm frond … and front yard tidy up.

Monday, March 28, 2022

Sitting on the front porch with the kids, it’s so quiet I can hear the wind.  Good morning!

Mark and I were up early and off to do errands. No, I’m home finishing up the at home chores, putting Epson salts on the palm trees and my plants, and folding laundry. Mark has taken the Kia in for an oil change. That’s life.

I love springtime in Florida. My jasmine is blooming, the azaleas have just finished and my gardenia is in bud.

We took the kids for a nice ride on the golf cart today. There was a beautiful wind … nice and warm. Tonight American Idol is on, so we are going to watch that.

We heard it through the grapevine πŸ‡ Randy and Dawn are back in town after three weeks helping out her mom in Michigan. Apparently Randy was sick for much of the time, as often happens after a ✈️. We will check in tomorrow and see what’s going on.

Sue and Wayne are out to Applebee’s tonight, and I suspect with Kris and Diane. That is one of their local favorites.

That’s it for today. Tata.

Sunday, March 27, 2022

Good morning. It’s a bit of a cooler start to our day with temperatures at 54°F. The sun is coming up and Mark and Bob have gone turkey hunting in the forest. I know they are enjoying hiking a boat even if they don’t get anything. Yesterday, a turkey walked right in front of them as they were driving out of the woods. Ha ha ha, and we think turkeys are dumb.  πŸ˜œ

Finished! (Maybe!) I will live with it for a week or two and see if it needs a few dabs here in there. But, it’s hung up.

Our Robbie continues to be lethargic this morning, so I gave him another Gas-X and chicken broth mixed with water. I’ll hold off his breakfast until after 9 o’clock and see how he feels. When he doesn’t feel good, Ms. BeeZee matches his mood. 🀨 Fortunately, Robbie pooped this morning. If you’re a dog owner, you know that this is important! I’m betting his tummy is still rumbling a bit after eating dirt from the avocado plant. Mark found this online, and it rings a bell at our house. πŸ˜‚

Oh our Scotties πŸ™„.

Sue sent a message this morning that Lil’ Bit’s and Bow Wow‘s mom passed away. I’m sure Jan went knowing that her dogs are in safe hands at the K’s. Very sad day for all connected.

Mark deemed this ‘palm Sunday’ and trimmed two of our queen palms. Tomorrow’s is landscape pickup. Otherwise, we just had a ‘normal’ πŸ™„ evening. That’s it for today.

Saturday, March 26, 2022

Good evening. It was a great day for the Sunnyland antique boat show in downtown Tavares Florida. Since Mark was hunting this morning, and I spent my day painting, we opted not to go although Markymark and Lani, Kim and Bob went. From their pictures, they certainly enjoyed it.

Sue got a package in the mail today that was mailed on December 23. Yes, today is March 26. How’s that for a lousy mail delivery? And, it was a sample of dog food for Shorty hot pants.  By this time, Sue had forgotten she ordered it.

Mark found this hilarious, and had to fill me in on why. I guess Jack is in freezing water in a pothole, probably in Winnipeg. I guess it’s funny, unless you drove there in the spring time! πŸ˜‚

My painting was coming along quite well until I put it in the room where I wanted to hang it. So, now it’s back to the easel for a little fine-tuning on the colors. πŸ€ͺ

Robbie was very anxious today, trying to tell me something. By this evening, he was hiding behind the sofa which told us he had a problem. We gave him a Gas-X and a half a Pepcid and then checked out his anal glands. That is often a problem for him, but in this case it wasn’t. Yesterday, he ate some dirt from my avocado plant in the front porch. We were thinking this has caused some stomach distress and possible bloating. Now, 45 minutes later he seems to be a little better.

Robbie never willingly sits with Mark.

So, that was our day. We hope it was a good one for you. πŸ₯°

Friday, March 25, 2022

Good evening y’all. It’s been a good day! Mark and Bob left early this morning to go turkey hunting in the Ocalla forest. They saw a hen, deer, and a cat! But, no turkey dinner tonight! πŸ˜‚

I had a chance to work on my painting today, I may actually post a picture of it tomorrow. It’s a big one about 30 x 40.

LaDonna and Wayno were here visiting with the Scotties tonight. πŸΎπŸ’•  We met them for dinner at the Crazy Gator earlier. The restaurant was really busy, but the food came out fast and hot, and everything was good. The lake was pretty wild on the east side from a 12 mile an hour wind.

Sue and Wayne have been actively working on getting a Lil’bit and Bow Wow adopted.

Bow wow photobombed Lil’Bit’s picture. 😍🐾 Total cuties. Their poor owner must be missing them terribly. It’s so sad, but she’s in the end stage of cancer. These pups need to stay together as they are bonded.

Lil’ Bit is a tripod Chihuahua with a huge personality. She and Bow Wow are very playful. Maybe you know of someone who needs some love in their life?

That’s it for today. Robbie is telling me I have to get their apple slices for their bedtime treat. Ta ta.

Thursday, March 24, 2022

Good evening. We are off to meet soon Wayne for dinner tonight. It’s been a rainy day, and we’ve been happy to catch up with a lot of things around the house. Was having been in Casselberry several days, things got out of control. Ha ha ha. Well, I had to mop the floors as the dogs brought home a lot of extra dirt. They were happy to have baths today and for me to wash their doggy beds. Anyway, we are off tonight to celebrate the end of that job.

On the way to meet soon Wayne we stopped in the Polish deli for Mark to get some kielbasa sausage for Markymark and some blueberry pierogies for Sue and Wayne. We want to go back and meet the new doggies Bow Wow and little bit. Bow Wow would be a perfect addition to the two Black Scotty’s, but they may decide that he is a snack. OMG, Miss Beezy cannot be trusted.

Well we met Sue and Wayne at Miller’s ale House, and dinner was very good. Afterward we went back to their place in Met Bow Wow and little bit. Oh OMG, they are sure cute pups. Shorty hot pants, Chikki and Mimi all had a good visit with us. Wayne even had a Courvoisier, which I haven’t seen him do in years. It was a fun evening, and we headed home just after 9 o’clock. Markymark and Lani came in and walked our dogs for us. Wonderful to have them living across the street.

Wednesday, March 23, 2022

Well it’s after 9 o’clock here and we’re relaxing after 11 hours away from home. Robs and Beez were with us … and they’re sound asleep already!

Rick M tells me it’s not a blog without pictures …

Several metal doors which I painted today

Ceilings and walls painted πŸ˜…

Front door gives a splash of color.

That’s it … our contribution to helping our neighbors. Bye bye Casselberry.

Tuesday, March 22, 2022

Good morning! We have a few errands to run today, and then a meeting with the Lake County code enforcement Deenna‘s house. Otherwise, it’s an around the house type of day. Tomorrow, we have plans to go to Casselberry and finish up a few of the things we have started with Markymark. After that, we were done with that drive. Lol

Took a drive today and got a few errands done, then popped in to visit Wayne and LaDonna and returned their cooler and a book I had borrowed. LaDonna had a book on van Gogh, and it was really enjoyable to read. Anyway, we have made plans to see them on Friday. Now it’s  pick up a few things at Publix and then home before we have the meeting at Deenna‘s. If it’s good to be busy, then all is good here. Ha ha.

Afterward, we took the kids for a ride on The Caddy. It’s a lovely day!

Monday, March 21, 2022

Good evening. Today disappeared in a flash, between painting for a few hours on my latest creation, Mark grocery shopping (then made me a dish to take to Deenna‘s house for a surprise party for Nancy.)

Yes, you could say Nancy was surprised. 🀩 Look at her expression coming in the doorway! We had drinks, appetizers and lots of yakking time. Nice time! I was home at 5:30.

While I was there, Mark took the kids for a ride on the golf cart. BeeZee wore her new bark collar. She only needed a vibration correction and heeded the warning. πŸ˜… (She goes into a fury when she sees another dog!) Let’s hope this cures the problem!

Tonight is American Idol, and we’re just settling in to watch that now.

Sue and Wayne are still fostering the two wee waifs LilBit and BowWow.

Hope they get a forever home soon! 🐾😍 Are you lookin’ for love?

Sunday, March 20, 2022

Good morning!  Happy SPRING! A thunderstorm washed awsy the springtime pollen in time for our drive to Casselberry. Yes, another day of puttering about somewhere else. πŸ˜‚

Yesterday we took it easy and went for a pontoon cruise! It was in the 80’s with a south wind. Plenty of other boaters were enjoying the afternoon. A couple of beer and sunshine rejuvenated us all.

Robbie ❤️

Just a putt putt cruise on the lake. πŸ₯°

The cypress trees are leafing … so very green.

Friday, March 18, 2022

Good early bird morning! We’re off to Casselberry for more fun helping Markymark and Lani ready her old house for sale. The moon was full and bright in a clear sky. Nice drive!

Thursday, March 17, 2022

Thursday, March 17, 2022

Good morning. Happy Saint Paddy‘s day from bright beautiful sunshiny Central Florida.

Mark has decided that a trip to the woods was in order to restore his sanity. I have no idea what affected  his sanity? πŸ™„ Ha ha ha. We have been busy around here, between looking after our place and helping out our neighbors. And, our neighbors Sy and Kate are moving up north, and they have been bringing all sorts of things over for us to donate. This means a lot of extra cleaning and sorting. Mark has been handling that. No good deed goes unpunished. We have more to do for Markymark in Casselberry, possibly next week.

Anyway, happy St. Patrick’s Day. Our favorite restaurant for celebrating has decided to remain closed this year for the weirdest reason… They get too busy. 🀷‍♀️ Now I would think if I had a restaurant, an Irish pub, that I would definitely be open on St. Patrick’s Day. It would be my biggest day for earnings during the whole year. What the heck. anyway, because of this, Mark is making corned beef and cabbage for us here at home.

No 1030, and we had our Saint Patty’s day dinner at home. It was pretty good for a first try in the crockpot. Lani and Markymark came over for a drink on the front porch, and that was our evening..

Ta ta til tomorrow. ☘️

Wednesday, March 16, 2022

Good afternoon y’all. Mark was puttering about today and discovered a wren making her nest in a bucket of chains in our side yard.

Haha … I’d just cut 3” off my ponytail … we’ll see if she thinks it’s worthy of her nest. 😎

The $10 mirror I bought at the humane society store is PERFECT in front of the fireplace opening for summer!

Whatta bargain eh?

Tonight we went to a new Mexican restaurant in Mount Dora. Although we had a lot of fun, it is no competition for our favorite in Eustis. Afterwards, Mark and I went back to Nancy‘s house for a nightcap, and ended up watching the Rocky horror picture show movie. We are going to the theater to see it in June, and wondered what we are in for. Lol. OMG we are going to need costumes for this.

That’s it, now it’s bedtime.  πŸ₯±

Tuesday, March 15, 2022

Tuesday, March 15, 2022

Good evening. This day has gone by in a flash. I woke up feeling not so very good, a bit nauseated from last night greasy onion rings. We had dinner at Fish Camp, and it wasn’t up to its usual perfection. I guess in these odd times, we have to expect there could have been a different cook in the kitchen. πŸ™„ Anyway, after a Pepcid we were on our way to the new sportsman‘s store in Lady Lake. We picked up KimBob as they are avid outdoors folk. I bought a shirt for Mark, and he bought himself some fishing worms. Not too exciting in my books, but it was nice to walk around and see the place. Afterward, we went for lunch at the New York deli around the Fruitland Park area. Now that was pretty darn good. It’s just a little hole in the wall type place, family owned. The food was delicious and the place was busy.

When we got back home, I worked on my plants for a little while, splitting them up and repotting them.  This was good for a couple of hours. Then, being a bit of a dreary afternoon with on and off showers, we had an hours nap. Now, Mark has gone to the grocery store as we were out of protein for the dogs. They had a mishmash dogs dinner of liver and lean turkey along with broccoli and a Dr. Harvey’s oatmeal mixture. They liked it, no complaints.  πŸ˜‚

We’re expecting some rain tonight, and maybe even some wind. It’s a good night to do a few eBay listings. Things have been selling bit by bit. You just never know. I think Amazon has affected Ebay badly.

Here’s a nice picture of Pam with her eldest son Bob, from London England. He is headed back after a four day visit.

I saw this on Facebook and just had to share it …

We took some things to the Humane Society store today and I found a nice large mirror that will fit in front of the fireplace for the summertime. It was only $10 at the store and it has a lovely gold frame. Good deal eh?

Monday, March 14, 2022

Monday, March 14, 2022

Good evening.  We had a busy enough day with a trip to the post office, bank and to check out Markymark‘s property in downtown Eustis. A couple of things have sold on eBay, which is good because it has been quiet for a few weeks.

Sue and Wayne are helping out with the two dogs, the Chihuahua and the Carin terrier have both settled in fairly well. It’s a big change for them, so it’s going to take some time. They are available for adoption. Diane and Kris bought them a playpen area where they can be safe from the other dogs.

Lil’ Bit

Bow Wow … this little tyke hasn’t eaten yet, he’s quite upset.

This is the new playpen from Di and Kris. Very sweet.

Tonight, we met LaDonna and Wayne at Fishcamp on Lake Eustis for dinner. Afterwords, we went to their place and sat on the front porch while the guys smoke cigars. It was a really nice evening. We talked about the war in the Ukraine, and the concerns for the world.

Stay safe everyone!

Sunday, March 13, 2022

Good sunshiny morning! It’s a cold πŸ₯Ά start and only reaching the 60’s this afternoon. That was one heck of a cold front that blew in! Our front yard is littered with Spanish moss.

Saturday, March 12, 2022

Saturday, March 12, 2022

Good morning. We were up at 5 o’clock and getting ready for our drive to Orlando, still helping out Markymark to get his property ready for the market. Yesterday, we took a drive to visit Sue and Wayne and to take Wayne his birthday present. It was a rather unusual one, extra garlic Polish sausage and potato and onion pierogies. We didn’t know that he likes blueberry pierogies, but they do have them available there.

It’s possible we could get heavy rain and wind today at home, but maybe not so much in Orlando. Things tend to be a little north of us at the moment.

πŸ˜‚πŸΎπŸ’•

Sue and Wayne are helping out with two dogs, owner release, due to health.  If you, or someone you know is looking for a couple of cuties, let us know.

Bow Wow and Lil’ Bit … πŸ’•

Friday, March 11, 2020

Good morning. Mark and I were up and out and off to the eye doctor for my 8 o’clock appointment. Fortunately, I still have 2020 vision and only need dollar store glasses for reading fine print. Yahoo.

Our plans today are to go to the Polish deli and pick up a few items for Wayne‘s birthday. This was Mark‘s idea for the guy that has everything. Let’s hope it’s good.

Thursday, March 10, 2022

Thursday, March 10, 2022

Oh it’s a delightfully rainy morning and we’re off to the eye doctor and grocery shopping. The doggies will be happy to sleep in. πŸΎπŸ’•

Well … my eye appointment is tomorrow! πŸ™„ So, we did our grocery shopping at Walmart at 8:15 when it was quiet.

Heavy rainstorms were predicted ahead of a cold front for the afternoon. We didn’t get any wind here but had some rain while I was at Rose’s game day.

Tonight, it’s Telly time. Mark brushed Robbie’s and BeeZee’s teeth! They’re very relaxed with him doing it.

These beautiful trees are in the neighborhood where Lani’s property is that we were painting yesterday. Gorgeous!

Tuesday, March 8, 2022

Tuesday, March 8, 2022

Good early morning! It’s a cloudy start to the day. We’re on the road to Casselberry to help our friends paint their rental property.

The Wekiva Parkway is beautiful … beautifully landscaped all along the highway. It was a long drive, over an hour, but the traffic moved and it was OK. In the afternoon a plumber came and worked for a few hours while we were there. We have more work to do tomorrow, but should finish up what he wants done. It’s a cute three bedroom two bathroom home, with a combination living room and kitchen.

On the way home, we stopped and picked up Stavros Pizza for dinner along with a couple of salads. We didn’t stop to eat today, just wanting to get as much done as possible. Right after dinner, it rained so we settled in to watching TV and relax with the doggies on our laps. That’s it for today.

Monday, March 7, 2022

Monday, March 7, 2022

Happy birthday Wayne …

We celebrated Wayne’s birthday at Eaton Beach today. It was lots of fun and the food was very good!

We’re seeing line ups for fuel and stations out of gas … a sign of things to come? Hope not.

Tomorrow’s a busy day!

Sunday, March 6, 2022

Sunday, March 6, 2022

Good morning sunshine! It’s a great start to the day! Our dinner party was a success … and we’re cleaning up, still. πŸ˜…

Nancy dropped by today with SUNFLOWERS she fresh picked!

We’re supporting Ukraine πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ ❤️

Saturday, March 5, 2022

Saturday, March 5, 2022

Good morning! We’re having a busy morning getting organized for tonight’s dinner party. On the menu … prime rib roast with potatoes, carrots and onions cooked around it. KimBob are bringing a 7 layer salad, Anna n Steve a dessert and Pat n Ken two bottles of wine and cheese.

Friday, March 4, 2022

Friday, March 4, 2022

Good morning. It is a bright beautiful, gorgeous day. The birds are singing, there’s a slight breeze and it is 78°F at 11:30. This is a super place to live.

We don’t have much in the way of plans today, just puttering around the house. Mark is grocery shopping right now, getting supplies for our dinner party tomorrow night.

The news from the Ukraine is awful … we turned the TV off and sat on the porch to contemplate the world events.

Thursday, March 3, 2022

Thursday, March 3, 2022

Hey y’all … it’s been a nice Florida day. Mark and Wayno went fishing for 5 hours while I had quiet time painting. Yeah, I started a new biggie 30”x40” canvas.

Here’s my progress! It’ll be a pink saucer magnolia tree against a board wall.

And da boys had some fishing luck

That’s crappie on the left and large mouth bass on the right. Yes, they eat them.

I talked to Randy and Dawn this morning, and they are expecting a houseful of company for a Disney weekend. It’s a good thing I talked to them today … they’ll be very busy. πŸ˜‰ Have a blast with your sister, Dawn! And with the nieces and grandkids! Oh my!!!

Spring has sprung here!

Mark and Lani’s garden beauties. They love landscaping with unusual plants.

Watching ABC News with Mr. Muir we got the address to help the Ukrainian people … www.unicefusa.org and donated. It’s heartbreaking!

After dinner we took a ride on The Caddy with the kids. It was so lovely. Now, it time to watch Oak Island from last Tuesday. 😁

Wednesday, March 2, 2022

Wednesday March 2, 2022

Good sunny afternoon y’all. It’s a 75F day, perfect. With our chores done for the day we’re just chilling. I’ve put two coats of gesso on the big canvas for my next painting. The very hardest part (for me) is “what to paint … and where to put it after.” πŸ€”

So … this biggie will be soft blues and pinks in the sky with gnarly branches and white magnolias! It’ll hang horizontally over our bed. I’m excited to get the paints out … maybe tomorrow.

Mark accomplished a lot today … pressure washing the front porch roof and tile floor. Tonight it’ll be full of fun and laughter with LaDonna and Wayno. πŸ₯° (Most likely someone else will pop by and join the fun.)

Next week we’re going to help Lani & Mark at their Orlando rental house. The interior needs a freshening up before they list it for sale. They’re overwhelmed with projects … at their home and another recently purchased one nearby.  It’ll be good for us … we enjoy “fix-ups and painting.”

Last night Sue and Wayne saw Carol and Jack at Bella Roma and heard the news Margie and Les married! We’ll have to get a card in the mail! πŸ’πŸ₯‚πŸΎ

Tuesday, March 1, 2022

Tuesday, March 1, 2022

Good morning. I see we have more clouds today, but no rain forecast. A front has moved across the Florida peninsula and hidden our sunshine. Drat. Anyway, Mark has gone to the woods with Bob for a nice hike. It’s what he truly enjoys. Meanwhile, I am left to my own devices. Namely Siri, Alexa and Carlos. Ha ha ha. I’m not sure

And, I was in charge of the frypan …

πŸ˜‚

Our day zipped by with paperwork and phone calls. It’s sad to see the Ukrainian people suffering and their families being torn apart. 😭
