Sunday, May 31, 2020

Good afternoon y’all. It’s a beautiful start to our day with lots of sunshine! Mz Bee is getting a pedicure from Mark.

I worked on a couple of paintings today while Mark went to Home Depot and picked up more concrete for his project. We thought we might go out to Stavros tonight for dinner, but decided against it. Maybe, during the week when it’s not so busy.

Bonnie and Roger called tonight while we were on the Caddy with the dogs touring the neighborhood. We called them back and caught up on all their news.

Sue and Wayne are on their way north and are now through Atlanta. We hope they will have a safe trip and avoid all the rioting cities.

Saturday, May 30, 2020

It was a good day for America with the first launch of astronauts from American soil since 2011. Yay. Although we can usually see it from our front door, it was cloudy today so we watched on TV like most Americans.

Dawn was at work today and looked into a return that Mark had a problem with at Walmart the day before. Thanks to Dawn, Mark is to ask for the manager and will be able to return it! Awesome! It’s a Soda Stream that quit working within a few weeks.  Thanks Dawn. πŸ₯°

It was hot and sticky this afternoon so I painted for a while and Mark got another form ready for a concrete pour in the backyard. Other than that, we are sitting on the front porch enjoying a cool evening while Mark smokes a cigar! Nancy, Mary and Kachina walked by ... came to visit at the screen then carried onto Pat &
Ken’s to sing the theme song of Caddyshack. 🀷‍♀️ Wine was apparently involved. πŸ˜‚

LaDonna and Wayne are in Sanibel for a few days R ‘n R and sent this picture.

Yup, that’s how the Gulf shore beaches look. Nice eh?

That’s it for today.

Friday, May 29, 2020

Good evening. I didn’t realize I hadn’t started the blog yet. It’s been a nice day, Mark did a little work outside I did a little painting and surprise surprise, Randy, Dawn, Makenna and Charlotte did a cruise past our dock! We went out and said hello. They had picked up Chick-fil-A sandwiches for lunch and had drinks on board and were  just out cruising around. Nice!

At 4 o’clock we had our weekly zoom YaYa get together. Once again they were only nine of us, of the 22 that are usually around. We played a game online, had a few laughs and at least got to see each other virtually.

This evening, a big rain storm was coming straight for us so we sat on the front porch with a glass of wine to watch it come in. Well I’ll be darned, it did its usual split around Lake Eustis and all we got was a little drizzle.

Thursday, May 28, 2020

Good evening. I didn’t realize I hadn’t started the blog yet. Mark was up extra early and doing a concrete project in the backyard. He got it all finished and covered before the afternoon rains began.

Mz Beez is doing very well. She gets a little bit antsy before the next pain medication is due. So, there must be some pain involved with this. She’s being very brave and very good too. She hasn’t even attempted to take the boot off. Tomorrow morning she goes in for a bandage change.

While I was doing chores and painting this afternoon, Wayne and LaDonna phoned that they would like to drop over with something for us. we welcome the company and they stayed several hours, having pizza with us for an easy dinner on paper plates in the living room. Wayne’s mom passed away earlier this week and they needed to get out of the house for a bit.

Last night at Pat and Ken‘s house we had a birthday cake and funny hat for Marky Mark.

Lynn put the hat on Ozzie ... and Sadie looked like “keep that away from me!” 😜

Wednesday, May 27, 2020

Good morning. We actually had a pretty good night after BeeZee’s surgery! She had a light dinner, took her medications and slept until 4 o’clock this morning in our room.  We got up, took them both outside for potty, a bit of chicken broth then back to bed til 7. Pretty good. Getting their breakfast together was a hoot, between my antibiotics following dental work, Robbie’s antibiotic routine, and Bee’s antibiotics plus pain meds, it looked like a pharmacy counter.  πŸ€£

Mark has gone to Home Depot for a few things and plans to do a couple of little projects today. Me? I hope to finish two paintings I’ve been working on, but that depends how long you know who naps. so far, she hasn’t bothered with her foot at all. We had her wear the neck pillow overnight but she seems fine without it today.

Mz Beez is doing well ... taking her meds, wearing the boot with no distress, eating, drinking and pooping. Life is good. 😜

Sue and Wayne had their kids groomed yesterday and are ready for a trip to their cottage. πŸ‘πŸ» It’s a strange year this 2020 ... we had plans to travel with them ... then the virus 🦠 pandemic, my dental work and BeeZee’s paw growth. 🀷‍♀️ It just wasn’t meant to be.

Tonight I’m going to Pat n Ken’s for a drink, celebrate Marky-Mark’s birthday and relax. Mark’s keeping an eye on BeeZee. (She’s doing very well.) πŸΎπŸ’•

Having a chew bone while I painted.

Tuesday, May 26, 2020

Good morning. We’re feeling a little down this as Mark is dropping our wee girl at the vets to have a sarcoma removed from her paw. We’re optimistic that the lump will be removed entirely and that no further treatment would be necessary. But, we won’t know any of that until the histology comes back from the lab. Today is Bee’s surgery. 😒

Last night, Kim and Bob invited us over for a drink on their porch. It’s so beautiful looking the water ... And it was nice and cool with a strong breeze off the lake. Bob and Mark drank a bottle of scotch between the two of them, not just any scotch, but a fancy bottle that was from Bob’s retirement a couple of years ago. Mark was looking a little bleary-eyed by the time we got home at midnight. Ha ha ha. But, I think he needed it as we have both been so worried about our doggie.
and it was nice and cool with a strong breeze off the lake.

Mz Bee’s surgery went well we think. We picked her up at 4 o’clock along with antibiotics and pain meds. She’s wearing a wonderful blue go-go boot. We should have the lab results from the histology in a week to 10 days.

We’re so happy to have her home!

Monday, May 25, 2020

Good afternoon! It’s a rainy day here ... finally! We sure need it!

I had company for my morning coffee on the front porch ...

Robbie.                                 BeeZee

Across the pond, it is Tony’s birthday. It’s the first time that the family has been able to get together after the coronavirus lock down in the UK. Everyone is social distancing, but at least able to be together!

Happy birthday Tony! ❤️

Sunday, May 24, 2020

Good morning. I was up early and got a few chores done. It’s going to be a hot day in the high 80s. Our plans are to spiff up the house before LaDonna and Wayne arrive at 2 o’clock. She and I are going to paint, finish our lighthouse project that we started about 10 days ago. Then later, we will pick up dinner at Stavros. This has become a bit of a standard during this COVID-19. They certainly miss seeing their three-year-old granddaughter, but can’t chance it as her parents work in the medical field.

There were some wonderful pictures of Berks and Arlene online, posted by their daughter Melanie.

Dating in 1955

Today in California. This brings back happy childhood memories of seeing them entertain in Winnipeg.

It was a fun afternoon painting with LaDonna while Mark ‘n Wayne smoked cigars and fished out back. The guys picked up dinner at Stavros, excellent then sat on our front porch for a nightcap. πŸ‘πŸ»

Robbie and BeeZee sure enjoyed having company ... and getting fussed over. Ta ta til tomorrow.

Saturday, May 23, 2020

Good morning y’all. It’s Saturday, Memorial Day  (weekend) here in the United States. This is the time we honor those who have died for our freedom. (Veterans Day, a completely different holiday, honors those who have served and are alive.)

The news this morning of the COVID-19 virus in South American countries was very, very grim. Their government was even worse than our American one in stepping up and locking down quickly. Mass graves are being dug for the dead. It’s a horrible, horrible situation. Please, as lockdowns are lifted and things get “back to normal” stay safe, wear a mask, wash wash wash, keep sanitizer in your vehicle and use it, and avoid crowds. Social distancing of at least 6 feet apart is the new normal.

Mark and I watched a show yesterday on Netflix, absolutely fascinating as to how we all got into this world order in the last hundred years. The opportunities lost for the benefit of the upper echelon, top-tier, has devastated humanity. It is well worth watching. UNACKNOWLEDGED πŸ‘πŸ»

Friday May 22 2020

Good morning ☀️ ... Mark just came in to cool off after washing and covering the Kia. (He looks hot!) Our (gruff) neighbor Hal suggested Mark “should take it to the car wash ... lot easier.” Mark held his tongue til he got inside and told me ... “the f—-er couldn’t bend over anyway!” It gave me a laugh.

After the dental procedure yesterday, I slept in the recliner til 2 in the morning when I took more antibiotics and pain meds. Today, better than yesterday. πŸ‘πŸ»

Mark took the kids for a golf cart ride this afternoon, but it was pretty warm. So, they only did the local streets around us. I was going with them, but Mark suggested I better not after my procedure yesterday. I don’t want to sneeze and blow out the implant. Ha ha ha.

At 4 o’clock we had our weekly Yaya get together on zoom. Lynn set up a game of family feud, now called Yaya feud. 🀩 It was fun, and Sharon was on for the first time, having gotten home from the hospital last Sunday. It’s a fun bunch!

Thursday, May 21, 2020

Thursday, May 21, 2020

Hi there! It’s been a different sort of day here. I started with an 8:30 dental appointment for an implant, tooth #21. That done, it was a relaxing day, doctor’s order! The implant will be checked in a week ... and after two
Months of healing ... a new tooth. Yippee.

Mark was chief cook ‘n bottle washer for the doggies while I was out. After, he took a ride to pick up some crushed rock for the side yard tidy up. Things are spruced up and updated all around the house. πŸ₯°

Wednesday, May 20, 2020

Well, we were both up middle of the night concerned about the upcoming vet appointment. Mz BeeZee did great ... Mark took her as only 1 person is allowed with their pet. He waited in the car to be escorted in. Anyway, Dr. Wilson examined Bee and took a fine needle sample of the bump. A few minutes later, she came back to tell Mark that it was not a mast cell carcinoma. That is very very good news. It IS some type of sarcoma, one that she did not recognize the cells of. So, we are now waiting for the laboratory to determine the type and let us know, hopefully by Friday. In the meantime, I found the University of Florida small animal Hospital in Gainesville. Unfortunately, they are unable to do any surgeries at this time because of the Covid19 virus. I was disappointed as I thought that would be our best bet. Anyway, they took all the information and Dr. Wilson is welcome to call them for any guidance she may need. So, our baby has surgery scheduled for Tuesday morning to remove it, with wide margins. I will have to order her a soft cone to wear so she doesn’t chew at the incision.

Tonight we met with our neighbors at Kim and Bob’s place for a glass of wine. We spread out, as usual and had some laughs.

Tomorrow, it’s the big dental day for me! That’s it for today.

Tuesday, May 19, 2020

Good afternoon 🌞! I took the kids for a ride on The Caddy and delivered a big puzzle to Cheri. She’s enjoying them during this COVID19 downtime. Good deed accomplished ... and the kids had a big ride.

The moochers had LaDonna wrapped right around their paws on Sunday night’s visit.

Mark didn’t think I should have an orange Buble. πŸ™„ (I should have had more seltzer and less wine!) πŸ€ͺ

It was a beautiful afternoon and we had happy hour with homemade popcorn on the front porch. The dogs had their own bowl of it instead of potatoes with their dinner! Hey, it’s a grain, right? Mark enjoyed a foot-long cigar, maybe not quite, but nearly ... a gift from Wayno. He’s smoking it in two stages, it is so big.

I worked on a painting today, not much to show yet as I had laundry and many chores to do as well. Tomorrow, Mz BeeZee  goes to the vet for her 830 appointment. As only one person can go, Mark is taking her and he will FaceTime me with the vet. Fingers crossed that it is just a cyst. It’s been a worry for several days.

Monday, May 18, 2020

Good morning y’all. We’re expecting rain! Yay. We had a fantastic time last night at LaDonna & Wayne’s home. The doggies were very good ... and I was overserved. Mark paced himself ... he’s much smarter than me apparently. πŸ˜‚

It was 62 days since I’d been in the car ... and I saw a lot of  small changes on the ride. Fresh paint on the fire hall doors, houses with new roofs etc.

Mark continued his work behind the shed by terracing the slope. He’s really into it. When we had a splash πŸ’¦ of rain he came in and we both napped. Schweeet.

Karen and Pete were laid-off by GRW at the beginning of April due to the VIP Club camping shutting down with the COVID19 🦠. So ... they bought a truck and camper and started another club!

Karen has determined that Happy C Camping Club will be inclusive at this time, whether or not the member bought from Giant. She has 8 rigs going to Ft. Pierce for 4th of July. Way to go Karen & Pete!

Dawn is back at work, taking all safety precautions working 3 days a week in the pharmacy. We called them tonight ... she’s pretty tired.

There’s no change with BeeZee’s paw ... and our appointment is for Wednesday morning. Our vet is double booked right now.

That’s it for today. πŸ₯°

Sunday, May 17, 2020

Sunday, May 17, 2020

Good morning. We put the news on at 7 o’clock and heard that tropical storm Arthur, just named, is heading out to sea. Sue and Wayne experienced rain, wind and some flooding south of them in the Florida keys due to the storm. It appears we won’t have any rain.

We’re terribly worried about the growth on Mz BeeZee’s paw. It looks bigger today, I think. There’s no vet appointment until Wednesday...

Today I finished my coral reef painting ... and Mark cooked chicken for the kids.

Tonight, we’re having pizza with LaDonna and Wayno ... they love seeing the dogs.

Saturday, May 16, 2020

Saturday, May 16, 2020

Good afternoon. It’s a bright beautiful sunshiny afternoon although it was cloudy first thing this morning. Mark was up early working on his concrete project and finished the seawall header behind the shed. Here’s a before and after picture

✅ Done! 18 bags of 60 lb. cement. That should hold it!

Tonight, Randy and Dawn are coming over for Stavros. They were supposed to come yesterday but Randy had a migraine headache. We’re looking forward to seeing them before Dawn starts work again tomorrow.

Friday, May 15, 2020

Friday, May 15, 2020

Good sunshiny morning! It’s 64F for our start to this mid-month Friday. This marks 2 complete months since I rode in the car. πŸ‘πŸ» Yeah, I’ve had a few boat rides and trips around the ‘hood in The Caddy.

Mark was grooming Mz BeeZee last night when he discovered this growth on her right hind paw.

That’s a scary looking growth! I’ll be calling at 8 o’clock for a vet appointment today. 😒 Well, the vet is booked up the first appointment is Wednesday morning. I did send a picture which she looked at and told us what to do in the meantime. I think it came up quickly as I now see it when she walks. We certainly would’ve noticed had it been there awhile.  More worries.

Mark took a trip to the post office with two eBay sales. Woo hoo, we made five bucks. As Sue says, we only lost five bucks. (She has given up her eBay site for the time being as nothing was happening.) Mark also needed a few things at Walgreens, so off he went. Hey? Somehow I got stuck with his vacuuming. Ha ha. He has been too busy this week with doing concrete at the seawall to vacuum.

Sue called and Chiki is doing very well. Let’s hope those pesky eyelashes don’t grow back into her eyes. Apparently Shih Tsu doggies are noted for their very long eyelashes and sometimes they go a little haywire.

The kids Bark Box arrived this afternoon ...

Robs was first in ... but Beez grabbed Scoobi and they look off. πŸΎπŸ’•πŸ˜‚

She’s hiding out in my craft room with Scoobi. It was surely a hit ... maybe another one ‘someday.’ 😜

The kids had a big day including a ride on the Caddy around the entire neighborhood. This evening, we sat on the front porch for two hours and just enjoyed the cool evening air.

Thursday, May 14, 2020

Thursday, May 14, 2020

Good morning. Mark was up early working on a concrete seawall repair project. It’s all shady back there until mid afternoon, so he’s taking advantage of the day. Me? The usual chores, making dog food, and doing four loads of laundry today. Yes, it piles up quickly when you take a day off to play with pals. πŸ˜‚

Cousin Alastair is finding some spare time on his hands and is delving into the family tree. I welcome his help and look forward to the finds he uncovers.

We took a golf cart ride with the kids after lunch. Our neighborhood is busy with the power company replacing polls and stringing new wire. Things open up for business in this area tomorrow, officially, so I expect traffic will be Cray Cray tomorrow. No, I do not think we are ready to open. Mark and I will remain under shut down for many weeks yet. We fear there is going to be a resurgence in cases within six weeks.  Lake Eustis was wild again today. This is the third day of an easterly wind. Bob and Kim go out nearly every morning. He enjoys it rough, but she doesn’t like to get wet. They have a lovely fishing boat, but you are going to get wet on it. πŸ’¦

We talked to Randy & Dawn tonight. They are going to join us for a Stavros dinner tomorrow, just take out. Dawn may be going back to work as early as Saturday. We wanted to see them before that happens. Mark and I just don’t feel it’s safe to be in the public yet. (We’re staying at home in isolation to see what happens.) 😒 The number of COVID-19 cases are still rising daily in Florida.

Apparently we’re not the only ones concerned.

Wednesday, May 13, 2020

Wednesday, May 13, 2020

Good morning y’all! Here’s my latest finished picture ... hope you enjoy seeing it. 🐒

Turtle in the coral sea ... Schweeet. I enjoyed learning some ‘underwater’ techniques. 😜

We both had a busy day today. LaDonna joined me in my wee craft room for painting the Key West lighthouse. Wayno went hiking the Ocala forest with Mark today. The weather’s been fabulous the past 2 months ... and I think the 3 months before that! The guys joined us about noon for pizza on the Pizzazz.  They ate lunch with us, played with the Scotties and headed home about 2:30. It was a fun time!

Today is Rick M’s birthday! Happy Birthday πŸŽ‚πŸŽˆπŸ’•!  And it’s Rick & Ruth‘s wedding anniversary. We got on FaceTime about 630 to wish them much  happiness. The weather looked nice there. They had been to their favorite hamburger stand on their bikes for lunch and drinks. It was a long ride ... followed by a good nap. 😴  Happy Anniversary Ruth & Rick. πŸ₯°

Sue and Wayne had dental appointments today ... not much fun but necessary for good health. Little Chiki is wearing a hood after some eye surgery on Tuesday. What a week at the K’s home.

After surgery ...

and the next day. πŸΎπŸ’•

This evening, we went to Rose & Jim’s and sat on their back porch enjoying the cool evening. Bob and Kim, Lynn, Pat and Ken joined us. We enjoyed a 7 o’clock get together after dinner and just talked for an hour or so. It’s so nice to safely get together! Marky-Mark and Lani had been invited, but declined as they had traveled last week and Lani had visited her sister in the hospital.

That’s it for the day. Please stay safe, secluded, and wash wash wash. πŸ’•

Tuesday, May 12, 2020

Tuesday, May 12, 2020

Good morning! I was up early, 5 AM, finishing my turtle and coral sea painting. I’m very happy with how it turned out. Of course I went back to bed after that. Ha ha. It’s great to be retired!

Well there was some excitement in the neighborhood last night and we missed it all. Our neighbors Jim and Candi were at a basketball practice with their kids. The son noticed his lanyard was missing at the end of the game. It had the car keys on it. Well, they looked everywhere and couldn’t find it. Jim reported to the police that their car keys were missing, but the police officer said there’s nothing we can do about it. At 11:30 Jim‘s new car was stolen from the driveway! (Both Lynn and I have it on our cameras, but being night time you can’t see anyone clearly enough to identify.) The police found the car with one of the kids hiding in the backseat ... he wasn’t quick enough to make the getaway. He was arrested. The daughter thought she knew who this thug’s friends were and sure enough there they were on Snapchat in the stolen car. Duh! Jim is still worried as the keys to the truck were stolen as well.

Monday, May 11, 2020

Good morning 🌞 and spring flowers πŸ’! Our Gardenia bush is resplendent with white blooms. Mark picked a few and our house smells rich with the aroma. Gorgeous!

It’s eBay day here! We have a few old treasures to photo and list for sale. Our friend Lynn emptied Lew’s treasures from her shed and Mark salvaged them from the trash. We’ll see if these items are trash or treasures. πŸ˜‚

Here’s Harry Elephante ... it was fun to do!

Randy & Dawn stopped by today after delivering spareribs to Brandon and Brandon Junior for their dinner. They brought us two tomatoes, rosemary and cucumber from their garden! They just planted it about six weeks ago and already have produce. It was great to see them, first time they’ve been over in many many weeks.

Sunday, May 10, 2020

Sunday, May 10, 2020

Good early morning y’all. I was fussing in my head about sizing up an 8x8 painting to an 11x14. Yeah, it didn’t equate ... but I did the math, laid out a grid on the canvas, then a grid on the picture and drew. El-perfecto! Now I can sleep! 😴

Well we slept until about 830 and then got up and got our day started. It’s cloudy today with a chance of rain that is diminishing as the day goes on. Darn, we could sure enjoy a rainy day. Mark did a few chores in the backyard while I worked on a sea turtle painting.

Tonight, LaDonna and Wayne all are coming over for Stavros. I called in and they pick it up on the way. It’s fun to have some company once a week, even if it’s sitting at opposite ends of the long dining room table. Ha ha Ha. I do quite a bit of sanitizing before they come and then after they leave but, that’s just the way it is right now.

Robbie and Beezy brought me flowers today, ha ha, just like the cartoon above. I did have a nice text message wishing me a happy Mother’s Day from Matt. πŸ₯°

It’s now 1130 and Wayne and LaDonna have gone home. We sat on the front porch for a couple of hours and just enjoyed the night. Not one person walked by nor one vehicle. The guys smoked cigars, we had a few drinks and chatted. It was a fun evening.

Saturday, May 9, 2020

Saturday, May 9, 2020

Good morning. It’s a bright beautiful sunshiny day and I’m having a Seltzer water on the front porch with the dogs. The teenagers next-door have a private basketball coach so they are providing some entertainment on this quiet morning.

Today was dog grooming by Mark, and the kids look terrific. One of the grooming blades stopped working halfway through, so Robbie had the secondary blades. But, he looks great. Now tonight, Mark is trying to fix the original blades by sharpening them. There’s always a job to do in this house.

I finished my painting called Harry Elefonti ... which gives our room a British Colonial feel for this year! Cool.

Yay? Or Nay?

This evening we sat on the front porch and not one car went by. Actually, no birds either. We are missing Stephen Hawking who has been here for years. Mark wonders if someone had put out rat poison which killed our hawk. 😒 Maybe, just maybe they are nesting at this time of year.

We chatted on the phone with Randy & Dawn for over an hour tonight. It is Brittany‘s birthday and they took her a batch of cookies to work to celebrate. Randy is cooking ribs this weeythat they will deliver to her tomorrow. Sweet.

Tonight we watched Central Road Florida Road trip ... lots of local information.

Friday, May 8, 2020

Friday, May 8, 2020

Good afternoon y’all.  It’s a fabulous day here at 82F. Mark grocery shop today, our by monthly event and I sanitized and put everything away. Egad, it’s quite a chore nowadays! He wasn’t able to get Brussel sprouts as a mother (no mask) and her dirty diaper child (standing on the seat of the shopping cart) were touching all the freezer door handles. Yuck. He decided I could do without my Brussel sprouts. ✅

Sue and Wayne took this photo from their South Florida home of the Blue Angels flyover of the Fort Lauderdale/Miami beach area.

Let's just have a little bit of silliness this Friday afternoon ...

Ta Daaaaa 🍹

Yesterday afternoon, Dawn and Randy were in their bathing suits laying on the dock. A big pontoon boat went by with a bunch of partying women. One  hollered “looking good! ...  your yard looks great!”  Ha ha Ha ha ha. Randy said to Dawn, ‘you know were’re old when we’re in our bathing suit and it’s the lawn they’re admiring!  Whatttt! 🀣

At 4 o’clock, I got on Zoom with the YaYa girls and chatted until 5 o’clock. We had a few laughs, played a game of Hollywood squares and drank wine. Hey, it’s not our usual get together but ... it’s good for now. πŸ₯°

Tonight we sat on the front porch and enjoyed the quiet evening. Hope your day was great too.

Thursday, May 7, 2020

Thursday, May 7, 2020

Good morning Sunshine State! The front rolled through and we’re in the 50’s now, going to 74F.  Wowzer ... schweeeet. (Hope this weather makes it to South Florida!)

We sure enjoyed our gathering of friends here last evening. Everyone distanced properly ... yakked, laughed, drank wine and ate cake. Pat sent us a text saying how our Wednesday group lifts her spirits! The next fun Wednesday is at Rose and Jim’s! Everyone takes a turn hosting. After everyone left about 915, we wiped everything down with Lysol and put things back to order. It really only took a few minutes. πŸ₯°

I forgot to mention in yesterday‘s blog that two of my paintings went home with others ...

Kim & Bob loved this one ... ready to hang in their canal facing porch. ✅

Lynn took this painting for her kitchen ... gives her a Key West vibe. πŸ‘πŸ»

Now today, chores done ... except for the laundry that piled up in two days, I’m going to paint 🎨 the big canvas. Mark has a list of things he wants to accomplish and is really enjoying doing it. If he runs out of them, there’s always Marky-Mark’s place needing something. Or, Lynn’s. He’ll take her trash cans out for her tonight.

It’s so pretty outside the dogs and I are sitting on the front porch while I have a seltzer water. My gardenia is blooming and I can smell the tropical aroma in the porch. Life is good. (Perhaps, a bit weird right now, but this could be the new normal for a year or two.)

Sue and Wayne took a ride down to Pompano beach to see the moonrise. I think she got a pretty nice picture on her phone. Well done!

Wednesday, May 6, 2020

Wednesday May 6, 2020

Good morning. Yes, it’s a bright beautiful sunshiny day here in Central Florida. It’s in the mid 60s in the morning and climbing to the high 80s late today. It’s Wednesday, and our neighbors will be stopping by for a social distancing slice of my triple chocolate cake at 7 o’clock. Not only do I have baking to do today, but also cooking the dogs potatoes for the next couple of weeks.

Mark is taking advantage of the cool mornings and changing the oil on the Mounty. This afternoon he’ll mask 😷 up and help Marky-Mark unload the big stuff from the moving truck.

We had a nice evening chatting with Bob and Kim, Pat and Ken, Rose & Jim and Lynn. We drank wine, ate chocolate cake and told funny stories. The guys sat outside for an hour and had cigars around the propane fireplace. It was a nice evening; everyone went home by 9:15.

Did you see the Flower Moon tonight? This is the last super moon of 2020.

Tuesday, May 5, 2020

Tuesday, May 5, 2020

Good morning. Did you see any of the meteors last night? We looked, but didn’t see any from our viewpoint. πŸ’« 🀷‍♀️

It’s before 7 o’clock and Mark is going over to feed and walk Brady. I will check in and see where Marky -Mark and Lani are this morning. Hopefully, they took a break and slept a bit. It’s forecast to be 90° in Orlando which will translate to about 86-ish here in our area. After Mark shopping trips yesterday he has many things to putter with.

OMG this is so cute! I might have to paint a T-shirt with Scotties on it. πŸ’•πŸΎ

Lani & Marky-Mark are expected between 4-5 today. They say the tractor trailer traffic has been extra-heavy on I-75 and no rest areas spots to pull into! They’ll certainly be happy to get home and sleep.

Mark walked over to walk Brady and the big U-Haul was already in the driveway and they’re unloading! 24 hours straight through ... and semis everywhere!

It was a beautiful 80° when we took the kids for a ride around the neighborhood on the Caddy. Schweeet.  It was such a perfect evening we sat on the front porch for another hour and had a glass of wine.

That’s it for tonight. Tata till tomorrow.

Monday, May 4, 2020

Good afternoon. I cannot believe it’s already Monday. Where does the time go? You would think the days would be dragging along just hanging out at home! Not so, apparently.

Marky-Mark left for Buffalo today and we are now looking after Brady for a few days. He’s an older dog, and doesn’t require much walking. He will be a bit lonely so we will go over periodically and spend time with him. He’ll get 4 visits daily from us for sure. We sure hope everything goes well for them on their drive back to Florida.

If the skies are clear in your area you can enjoy a meteor shower tonight. You can bet I will be out there with my eyes on the sky.

I finished the psychedelic jellyfish painting and it turned out kind a cool.

I’m not sure I’d ever do one like that again, but it was fun and was my challenge from LaDonna!

While Mark ran errands today I started another elephant painting. It’s a big canvas!

I talked to Randy & Dawn today as they were sitting on their dock enjoying the sunshine. Dawn did a little turning out of closets today and sorting things but Randy said Sunday is his day off. Actually, he replaced a couple of boards on the deck ... that’s a job isn’t it?

Sue and Wayne are doing fine, just keeping to themselves like the rest of us. Shorty is enjoying his dog family of Mimi and Chiki And apparently has calmed down quite a bit. That’s all good.

Night we started watching a series on Netflix called outer banks. So far, it’s pretty interesting. That’s it for today. Tata, stay safe.

Sunday, May 3, 2020

Good afternoon y’all. It’s another gorgeous day here in Central Florida. Here’s some food for thought ...

Heeheehee ... I understand the MAGA hat now. 🀣

We talked to Randy & Dawn this afternoon and they had ordered takeout from a Chinese restaurant and a Mexican restaurant that was next-door. So Randy is enjoying Chinese food tonight and Dawn is enjoying Mexican. It sounds perfect at their place.

Mark and I ordered carbonara Mediterranean from Stavros, and Wayne and LaDonna picked it up on their way to our place. We social distanced at the dining room table and then enjoyed a fire outback. They are going away for a week in their RV, fishing on the St. Johns River.

Of course we had lots of giggles, a few drinks, and much social distancing.

Tata till tomorrow

Good morning 🌞! It was a cool start at 64F and forecast to be 84F this afternoon. 😍 We’re having a bit of a lazy start today and just finished our breakfast at 10:30. Mark thought he was going to Home Depot today until he realized it is the weekend. He doesn’t go out on the weekend, we leave the stores to the working folks.

So today, Mark said we Covid-is-idvich ... with Lynn and Marky Mark. We had a few laughs, a few drinks, a few chairs, and a few phone calls from Lani who is waiting to cross the Canadian border. it was a grand day, but a very late dinner at 9 o’clock. Oh well, somewhere on the continent, that is normal.
