Good afternoon and a very Happy Birthday to our dear friend Bonnie!

Arooooooo!❤️ πŸΎπŸ’•πŸΎπŸ’•πŸΎπŸ’•πŸΎ❤️

Tomorrow is the official birthday celebration at Bonnie and Roger's.  There is going to be a P A R T A Y at their new house and we wish we could be there to join in the fun! Bonnie is cooking Italian ... Chicken Parmigiana and Jumper City Casserole πŸ˜‹. Meanwhile, Roger was making the yard pretty with his riding lawnmower (WOWSA!)

At the homefront, I took a drive to Peddler's Wagon today and enjoyed their annual open house! 😜 Peddler's punch ... pecan tarts ... chicken salad points and pumpkin spice cupcakes; oh yeah, I bought a couple of items. Fun retail therapy!

While I was out, Mark patched a nasty bit of wall we've been ignoring for 17 years! Yes, we're admitting to that! It was 4"x4" of former owner putty gunk. While the drywall mud cured he painted the dining room baseboards! Schweet!

Play time after dinner ...

Grrrrr

Then ... a "walk" (Tug 'n drag) πŸ™„

It was nice enough to enjoy happy hour on our front porch. The rainstorms forecast scarcely happened; but it has cooled down!

Friday, September 29, 2017

Good day eh! Well we hope it'll be a great one!

Ha ha. First problem of the day is the paint that we used on the front door was not a perfect match. Apparently Copper Rose and Sienna Mist are close, but no cigar. So, Mark headed to Home Depot for the three remaining that showed available on the web site. When he got there, those cans were hidden behind another color and he had to dig to find them. I guess I should have dug around the other day instead of grabbing the Copper Mist. Wha waaa. While he's doing that, I am tidying up and vacuuming the house. You know things get ignored when you're busy with other projects. OMG.

My cousin Barbara (Vancouver) phoned to see how we're faring after the hurricane. She lives in a retirement home now. It sounds much like John Knox when mom had her apartment there. Once a week happy hour (😱) ... a coffee house ... and activities. Her daughter Sandy gave her a phone with free international calling. Nice! I met her once at age 3 ...

It's happy hour now and we've had a little rainstorm. Thank heavens ... the 90's should be done now. ✅ We ALL sat on the front porch enjoying 77F and rain!

Froggie legs ... relaxing on the porch!

Cigar:30 ... and wine:30 ... life is G O O D πŸŒ΄πŸ˜ƒ 🌨

Well, apparently THAT was too much fun. πŸ˜‚

Heeheehee ... there is such a thing as TOO MUCH FUN!

Guess that's it ... we're BOTH watching Ancient Aliens now πŸ‘½πŸ˜±πŸ˜‚

Thursday, September 28, 2017

Good morning sunshine. I was up while the stars were still shining and began painting the second coat on the inside of the front door. I used my hairdryer and had it all dried within an hour. Tomorrow, the front door will get a spray paint recoat. Sweet.

Mark left for his happy hunting grounds by 530. It's a beautiful morning but forecast to be 90, again today. We can hardly wait until the rainy front that is south of Florida innundates us over the weekend. Hey, at least it will be cooler. This is weather pattern is highly unusual for September.

While I was cleaning up Mark took BeeZee and Robbie for their walk then a ride on The Caddy. I think it's the first time he's taken them for a ride! Cute huh?

Sue and Wayne texted that they have gone to the yacht club for dinner and dancing. They are getting a lot of mileage out of the excuse of not having a big refrigerator. Haha. The repair man will be there on Saturday ... wha waaaa.

It's evening now ... the dining room wainscoting is finished, just the baseboards left to paint in there. Mark is belt sanding the front edge trying to get it to close easier. It always happens about this time of year. WTH?
Tomorrow, Randy is golfing at a very nice course with the gang. They got a great group rate, $20.  We're happy to see him out having fun. Dawn will be at work on Friday.

That's it. Thursday ✅ done.

Wednesday, September 27, 2017

Good morning! We were up extra early to take Old Silver in for a spa day. The Dodge is getting hood dents removed, scratches painted and a new mirror. It'll be like new again in a few days. (Still under 100,000 miles!) ✅

Have you had your flu shot yet? Mark and I had ours this morning ... we'll be ready for snow bird season which starts next month! ✅

Home Depot was deserted this morning ... self serve cashier only ... good thing we knew where the paint rollers and Rose Copper spray paint were. Our neighbor Candi popped over to let me know Peddler's Wagon has their annual open house on ... drinks, hors d'oeuvres and awesome household decor. Oh yeah!!! You can count me in. πŸŽ„

At noon I took the doggies for their daily golf cart ride. It was pretty darn hot in the sun ... still awaiting our first cold front of fall.

We were back to painting this afternoon. I put a second coat on the inside of the front door while Mark began the black baseboards in our bathroom. It really pushes the walls back and makes it look larger. Interesting. I painted the two sliding doors in the dining room and one wall of wainscoting.

Do you watch "Below Deck?" It's pretty funny ... but what comes to mind right now is the yacht Valor was docked in St Maarten. The pictures of the island pre Hurricane Irma were beautiful. What a horrible time the islanders are having now.

Valor isn't the ship's real name, but whatever, it's a gorgeous Feadship.

That's it. It's dog snuggle and TV time.

Tuesday, September 26, 2017

It's nearly 4:30 and we're going to meet RanDawn at Plaza Guadalajara for dinner.

I started my day at 5 a.m. With prepping the front door for painting. The inside of it is now swiss cream (white) while the exterior is a copper gold. We both like it, it brightens up the inside of the house considerably.  Aside from that, I painted two more doors and Mark changed the oil on the generator. We think it had never been done and we've owned it for a dozen years. πŸ™„ Weren't we lucky that it ran so well during the hurricane!

Sue and Wayne have been busy catching up after being away several months. All is well, it's just taking time. They went to J Marks in Pompano for dinner.

Well, we arrived at the restaurant early, 620. We got a table and sat eating chips, thinking Randy and Dawn weren't there yet as we didn't see their vehicle parked.

About 10 minutes later we sent a text to Dawn saying we were at the restaurant. Another 10 minutes passed with no response. Finally I phoned Randy ... he answered and said that they were at the restaurant and sitting "on the good side." We paid our drink bill and went to look for them at the opposite end of the restaurant. There we found 20 of our neighbors having a bit of a party on "Taco Tuesday." Apparently they all go every week! Who knew? So, we began looking around the restaurant for Randy and Dawn and eventually found them in the SAME ROOM we had been in, just 20 feet away! Haha. It's a wonder we didn't hear him on the phone!

When Randy heard that his golfing buddies were in the other room, he grabbed a sombrero from the wall and went to take their order. I wish I gotten a picture. Everyone was laughing. Good times!

Gorgeous sunset welcomed us down C.R. 44

Monday, September 25, 2017

Good early morning y'all. Mark was up at 5 AM to go to the Ocala forest for his first day of bow hunting. I was sound asleep when he got up, but unfortunately, could not get back to sleep. So, here I am with Mz BeeZee on my lap watching Ancient Aliens.

It's another painting day for me. I put things back, rehung curtains from yesterday's work and aim to paint 3 doors today.

Mark arrived home about 11:30. It was apparently a lovely day in the woods ... and he saw a deer. I had painted 3 doors and was nearly ready to quit, my feet killing me. Tomorrow's another day ... 3 more doors to do. Mark put the 2nd coat on the kitchen cabinet base ... it looks great! ✅

Crystal messaged us to see what was going on. It was so nice to hear from her.

We half expected Randy & Scott to pop in today. They were out riding today. Dawn has a chiro appointment for her stiff neck.

RanDawn arrived for a glass of wine after her chiro appointment. Scott left for home in Connecticut about 1 o'clock. Gator Harley has a lift and put Scott's new Harley in the back of his truck. Apparently he turned Randy onto Publix's $5.99 subs. We'll have to try the chicken tenders one!

We had a laugh about Randy cooking hot dogs for lunch ... and forgetting them on the stove. When he realized something was burning the house was already full of smoke! Dawn was so into reading πŸ“– a good book that she didn't notice. Haha ... Randy says there's always something crazy going on there! By the way the hot dogs were good.

Tomorrow, Dawn will get an actual adjustment at the chiro's ... she's having exrays done first. Good idea.

Sunday, September 24, 2017

Good morning. We were up early to get a jumpstart on our home improvement project. All the white trim in the house will be painted before the holidays! There's a lot, not just doors and baseboards but the dining room wainscoting and the master bathroom wainscoting. Today I will start with the three French doors. There's a lot of detail work to be done around each window. Mark is working on cleaning the gutters after the hurricane. Much of our roof seems to have been washed into the gutters.

It's now 4:30 and 3 French doors are finished plus woodwork between the dining room and family room. The ruffled curtains are in the wash ... and you can see who helped me today.

Mz Bee 🐝 ... πŸ˜‚

Mark painted the under cabinet trim in our kitchen black. It should have been done by Lowes, way back. It looks great!

Lew phoned today asking questions about possible hurricane damage at their house. We haven't seen anything of their "housesitters" for 10+ days. Mark took video of ceiling stains in 3 rooms that we didn't see until he put a flashlight on it. They'll be home in a few weeks.

Bonnie phoned for a good chat this evening. She and Roger are ready to fence their property this fall. They've had a lot of "jungle" to clear to make way for fencing. The doggies will enjoy it.

Sue and Wayne had dinner at friends Sue & Emil's tonight while Mark and I ate chicken Parmesan at home. That was our worky Sunday.

Saturday, September 23, 2017

Good morning 🌞 ... guess who came home to roost?

Yaaaaay ... Rocky's back. Yes, I put mealworms on the window ledge right away. πŸ˜ƒ

Our efforts today were cleaning gutters (eavestroughs) and prepping for painting tomorrow. All the household interior trim will get a fresh coat of "Swiss Cream" Behr Marquee. At $48 a gallon it better look fresh. 😜

Today we made plans to meet Diane & Kris at Ramshackle's for dinner. The place was packed ... we got the last table, a high top. Perfect. You'd think they were giving things away, what a crowd.

Kris, Diane, me and Mark ... we had fun; lots of loud talking to be heard over the din. πŸ˜‚ The food was good fare, taco salads, wings and fries. πŸ‘πŸ»

We have Shorty Hotpants AND Kris Hotpants. πŸ˜‚

We heard all about the Canada trip Diane & Kris had; lots of adventures. They certainly enjoyed it. Apparently we really missed visiting a great museum  ... The Human Rights Museum.

On our drive home we stopped at Lowes for a few paint supplies ... then Walgreens for emergency DSO. 🍊

Sue and Wayne met Carol and Jack at their local Starlight Ballroom for dancing tonight. I wonder if the K's got rusty at the cottage ... not much πŸ’ƒ in Kenora!

So that was our Saturday. Hope yours was grand.

Friday, September 22, 2017

Good morning. The air feels a cooler and dryer with a forecast high of "just" 85. Hey, we'll take it. About 1030 this morning the sun will be directly over Brazil  on the equator.

Mark headed to his happy place ... the woods ... to set up his hunting stands. It really was cooler this morning so I am sure he will enjoy it.  Did you know that the start of fall in Florida signals black bear awareness season? Our local bears 🐻 get more active as it gets a little cooler. Just like us!

Meanwhile, I did the morning chores and phoned our insurance company, again. The claims adjuster who was here last Saturday told me that he does appointments in the morning and paperwork in the evening. That said, our paperwork would be done and submitted  "immediately" to our insurance company. Well, here we are seven days later and our insurance company has not received his paperwork. Typical bullshit. Two days ago I phoned the insurance company and ask them what to do about a mold growth I was seeing on the family room ceiling. Erica said I should call a mold mitigation company to do an estimate and email it to her. Online there are 20+ companies but no idea which one to choose. Yesterday, I noticed a few water droplets on the ceiling. So this morning I phoned Erica again and asked who THEY recommend. I was given a phone number, helpful, and spoke with someone in Chicago. Anyway, a local company will be calling me in a day or two to tarp the roof and dry out the ceiling. 🀞

Otherwise, life is pretty good in the Sunshine State.

Feeling in the mood, I began the process of listing items on eBay again. Blah. Dang that's a lot of effort.

At 5:30 we left for our favorite fish fry restaurant to have dinner and drinks. Haha ... we sure enjoyed it! We didn't get home until 8 o'clock! Yum yum ... lunch tomorrow too. 😊 Well here's what happened ... our waiter Ryan was covering for a waitress who was late to work. He brought us drinks, a girl brought our dinner ... then nothing. Half an hour went by ... I was waiting for the "happy" part of my wine; #2. Finally, Mark whistled done a different waitress and ordered more fish, fries and wine. Suddenly Ryan appeared full of apologies ... he'd been covering for a co-worker running late. Long story short ... both workers brought us drinks and fish. Haha. By the time we left at 8 o'clock Mark had 4 beer and I had 3 wine ... plus leftovers for lunch. πŸ˜‚

Back home ... it's Ancient Aliens night. πŸ‘½ Ta Ta til tomorrow.  WAIT ... late Breaking news ... Aurelia reported SNOW fell in Lockport, Manitoba today!

OMG that's some welcome to autumn!

Thursday, September 21, 2017

Good morning y'all. The air had a fresher feel as I stepped outside at 6:30.

Sue and Wayne were welcomed home by "the fridge gremlins!" It wasn't cold. πŸ™„  Of course Hurricane Irma had done a number on their trees and fence ... and  the grass was like a hay field. Anyway, it'll all come together in a few days. Tonight they are meeting Carol & Jack for dinner locally.

Mark shopped for parts and had the toilet repaired by 2 o'clock. ✅ I vacuumed ants, dead ants, thousands of the little buggers that found a way into our house during the storm. One of these days we'll be back to normal again.

At 4:30 it was cool enough for a cruise on The Caddy with the doggies ... then followed by happy hour.

Yes, BeeZee and Robbie had cheddar cheese too!

Wednesday, September 20, 2017

Good morning πŸ˜ƒ ... it's GOING to be a better one than yesterday!

Firstly, Mark put the ice maker back together ... and it worked! Yay 😊

Sue and Wayne will be home tonight! They've had about 11 days on the road and I expect will be pleased to get home.

Pat picked Anita and me up for the luncheon at Pisces Rising. Poor Anita's little ShihTzu was attacked by Tim & Meredith's white lab. Lucy was on a leash ... John was talking with Tim when the lab came out of the garage and grabbed Lucy by the neck and shook her. Well it was off to the vet for emergency surgery! You can't be too careful. Lucy is expected to be okay ... Meredith & Tim felt awful of course and are paying the vet bill.

Lunch was fun! We ate inside as it was too hot on the deck. There were 3 new members I hadn't met having been away over summer. Dawn was off today and joined the festivities. (We decided tonight would be Mexican Dominoes!)

Randy called to say Scott was on the 429 so would be joining the game tonight! πŸ‘πŸ»

Our domino players arrived at 7 o'clock; we had a glass of wine and talked for a half hour and then began a rousing game of MD. For the first half of the game, Dawn dominated with a score of 28. Then, Randy bamboozled her and she ended up with a score of 80 that round. Darn ... I was hoping she would have a new record score!

Mark tried some bamboozling of his own, but it came back to bite him in the butt. Ha ha. We always have so much fun playing dominoes. I was telling Randy and Dawn about playing with Darlene and Marianne at the cottage! Well I said "donnimoes" just like Marianne did and we all laughed.

After the game, we retired to the living room, had more wine and then begin to watch the Sopranos season one chapter 1. OMG ... Dawn had never seen the series and we had forgotten at least half of it. I think we have something to watch all over again. They left around midnight, and Scott was falling asleep. He'd had a busy day. Ta Ta til tomorrow.

Tuesday, September 19, 2017

Good morning and a very Happy Birthday to Diane!

Hope to see her and Kris this weekend when they're at The Villages. She's happy to have power and a working phone line again! That Hurricane Irma damage lingers on.

Meanwhile, more Hurricane cleanup around here. Our spa developed a "rattle" after power resumed. Insurance would cover repair if a technician verified the issue was caused by a power surge.

Well, it's drained now ... but no evidence of the rattle's source! Hmmm ... hate to refill it and the rattle happen again. (It did ... 😳) Perhaps it's a bearing "going" but it'll run for now.  Next job ...

Sue and Wayne arrived in Perry Georgia tonight after a day's drive with heavy traffic through Atlanta. It's usually smooth driving the rest of their drive!

The Hurricanes are stacking up this season. Here's an awesome pic of "little" Jose, barely a CAT 1

This afternoon, Mark took the lawnmower apart to fix a problem with fuel and starting. He has to buy a part tomorrow. Meanwhile, he has the generator apart to change the oil and put in a new filter. We are waiting for the filter to arrive, hopefully before the next hurricane. Oh oh.

The next job was googling how to fix our whirlpool icemaker.

Hopefully, all the ice and frost will melt (in the sink overnight) and it will work again, like magic tomorrow! But, that's tomorrow. Handy Doodie had a busy day! (The assistant had a busy day too!) 😜

OMG ... at bedtime Mark discovered the guest bath toilet leaking ... WTH? Tomorrow!

Monday, September 18, 2017

Good morning. Where is our sunshine? Never mind, maybe it will be a bit cooler today without it. Although we have been OK, so Florida still has tremendous humidity after the hurricane. Did you know that hurricane Maria is on track to become another big storm system. At this point, no one knows where it will go, but it will impact the coastline of the United States somewhere.

It was great to hear that national save the sea turtles foundation's boat in the Keys was unharmed in Hurricane Irma!

Fabulous news! This is a working research boat. 🐒

Haha ... this is for K's grandson Kyle ... he thinks it's easier to have five months of winter than a hurricane. Ha!

Sue and Wayne have enjoyed our weekend in Nashville and should be starting on their trip to Florida today. They plan to be home Wednesday night or Thursday.

Dawn is back to work today but will be off on Wednesday and can attend our ladies luncheon at Pisces Rising. πŸ‘πŸ» i'm sure it will be a fun day and then there's always the beautiful view of Lake Dora!

Definitely ROBBIE !!!

We are off to Home Depot this morning to pick up paint for our door and baseboard project. Actually, all the white woodwork in the house is going to be redone. It's time for refreshing.

Hahaha snort bwahahaha ... YUP.

Riley and Parker returned the cake plate today with homemade pumpkin spice cookies!

Sweet ... such nice neighbors!

Mark cooked a pot roast for tonight's dinner and it is smelling delicious. I took Robbie and BeeZee for a long golf cart ride before feeding them. (He's been asking for dinner earlier everyday!)

Tonight is the beginning of dancing with the stars. So, that's it. Ta Ta.

Sunday, September 17, 2017

Good early morning y'all. Why am I awake so early?

Just as I was going back to bed at 6, Mark was getting up. Ha ha. What a crazy household.

Eventually we were all in sync and accomplished a bit. About 2:30 we decided on a boat cruise to check on the hurricane damage about Lake Eustis.

Robbie sat with Mark most of the afternoon ... despite a cigar that reeked of camel dung. Heehee.

Damage about the lake was sporadic. Several homes looked okay then we'd see one with roof damage, screen cages ripped off and trees toppled. Along our neighborhood lakefront two massive trees were down! Really huge ... one with a 10' root ball.  Terrifying.

Back in our canal, Mark tied a couple of big branches to our pontoon and towed them out of the channel. (Mz B was so excited!)

There are more branches to be moved but our dogs were getting hot ... so off to home and A/C.

Randy and Dawn arrived about 430 for cocktails before we all went to Stavros Pizza for dinner. The waiter knows us and is always very delighted when we come in.

So that was our evening. The Emmys are on TV and that's what we're watching. Tata.

Saturday, September 16, 2017

Good afternoon. Anytime I start my blog in the afternoon, you know it's been a crazy hectic day so far.

First off, Mark decided today was the day to regain his sanity by walking in the woods. He enjoyed it, but found that many trees were down across the trails. I held the fort by being home for the insurance adjuster. Tony arrived promptly, even a little before I'd finished breakfast. He was very nice, explained quite a few things and was gone within an hour. In about 10 days I should hear from the insurance company. Hopefully, the two hurricanes that are forming in the Atlantic don't come anywhere near Florida this time. We've had enough, so has Texas. Ha.

Hey! My happy hunting trail is blocked. Ha!  Love your new "Kenora" hat! πŸ’•

If you've been on Facebook, you will know that Georgia Boys Fishcamp's resident bird, Fred, has been feeding there for 10 years. He sure was hungry waiting for them to get back to normal after hurricane Irma.

Fred's happy again! 🐟 We hope business is back to normal quickly.

Sue and Wayne are going to the Opry tonight in Nashville. They are going to see Wynonna, Crystal Gayle and Patty Lovelace.

Guess who? Wynonna ... πŸ™„

So tonight we headed to Randy and Dawn's for a pizza party. Obviously we had a great time. Dawn had scratch off lotto tickets for us and Mark bought us all lotto tickets. In all, I was the only one who won, two dollars on one ticket and four dollars on another. Yowsa! Of course, like any great gamblers, we will put it back into more tickets. Ha

The banana Jeanie's cake that we imported 2250 miles was finally eaten and enjoyed tonight with Randy and Dawn. Originally, we wanted to bring it to Randy for his big birthday this year. It was rather hilarious as it was big and taking up a lot of space in the RV freezer. When we got home and put it in the house freezer, hurricane Irma hit ... which meant keeping the ruddy cake in our home freezer while the power was out. Ha ha. (Sue wondered why we weren't saving the cake until Randy's birthday next month.) It was time, it was time. πŸ˜‚

So that was our day. 😍

Friday, September 15, 2017

Seriously, why is my mind running through the names and dates of hurricanes at 1:50 a.m. PTSD? I do have a few fun memories of past storms. Hurricane Floyd hit the Keys, Sanibel & Captiva Islands in 1987. I was walking the beach on Captiva a week later with Klaus Moeller when we found a cockatiel bird, sitting on a stone, injured and surrounded by ants. Beach Bum was a cool guy ... I had him for 11 years. There wasn't a bird cage door he couldn't open. Haha.

Mark finished raking the back yard tree debris so we're ready for our lawn service next week. (He finished the job before I got up at 8 o'clock.)

This afternoon we went to Walmart and stopped in to see Dawn. She was off today ... we continued on with our shopping. The shelves were still empty of fresh items ... no meats, few veggies, no eggs; strange huh. You'd think 5 days later there'd be plenty. Oh well, we did get a couple of tomatoes and some lettuce.

You can see Mark and Robbie are both exhausted after the cleanup. Haha.

Dawn phoned to invite us for pizzas tomorrow night! Sweet!

Sue and Wayne have decided to spend extra time in Nashville and booked in at Yogi's til Monday.

Two years ago this week we were traveling to meet Sue and Wayne in Nashville after Olivia & Derek's Mississippi wedding. (We never made it ... lost an axle on our 5th wheel; long (Ka-Ching) story.) 😟

So this afternoon Mark began assembling his hunting equipment as archery season opens next weekend.  I had a triple chocolate cake to bake for Riley and Parker with special request peanut butter frosting. With the peanut butter frosting I know Mark won't be sneaking any before I deliver it. Ha!

Boy we sure felt the heat today! No breeze ... 85% humidity ... TV time.  Guess what's on tonight ... πŸ‘½

Thursday, September 14, 2017

Thursday, September 14, 2017

Good afternoon. Mark has just left for his chiropractor appointment. Tree branch cutting and hauling has done him in. We still have half the backyard to tidy but it certainly is getting "back to normal." I had five loads of laundry to catch up on. Clothes went in the hamper pretty quickly after working outside in 90° sunshine. We have the air conditioning cranking today drying the house out.

Several months ago we buried a St. Joseph statue upside down in the backyard of the abandoned house across the street. The place has been empty since our neighbor Jack passed away about 2008. His daughter who lives in New York State refused to sell it for all these years ... doesn't maintain the house and never comes to use it. Anyway, it was listed for sale today! Yay St. Joseph ... finish your work! πŸ˜‡

Our friend Nancy stopped in to return our cooler and ice packs. We were so excited to tell her that the property across the street is listed for sale. She thought the price was not too bad at 200,000 and that perhaps the neighborhood should buy it for a community party and pool area plus space for dock rental. I'm sure that's just a pipe dream as most of the people in our neighborhood already live on the water and have pools. But hey, it's not a bad idea.

Sue and Wayne are rolling along on their way home to Florida. They will stop in Nashville for a night or two. Fortunately they seem to have had very good weather but mentioned there's a lot of truck traffic on the roads.

Ohio River barges ... a beautiful area.

Pam is a proud mom today. Her son Daniel was on TV ...

πŸ‘πŸ» We're pretty proud too! There's a lot of talent in our families. Here's the link:

A small thunderstorm moved through tonight. I hope everyone's roofs stay watertight. Ta Ta.

Wednesday, September 13, 2017

Good morning 🌞. As predicted it's 68F so the front door's open, the Scotties are laying on the cool tile while I drink my first DSO of the day. Mark's first sip of the day was gas from Da Mounty's tank. 🀒 Gross.

Our friend Nancy who lives on the lake lost her flat roof portion on the patio plus her screen cage around the pool. Our friends Jack and Linda lost their boathouse (the boat was in it) and so many tree limbs they cannot even get to the end of their yard. I knew the houses on the lake we're going to take the brunt of Irma as the winds were out of the northwest for a good portion of the storm! Mike and Alice, two doors down, lost a huge tree which is lying across the canal. There are so many much worse off.

Speaking of worse off, the lift station in Fort Lauderdale or Pompano, I'm not sure of which, quit working and raw sewage is floating in the beautiful canals. Scott reported to Randy that the smell is so overpowering he has to ride around in his truck to get away from it. πŸ’© Now that's an environmental disaster in the making. (Power restored at 3 pm so hopefully things will improve.)

OK, now for some cheerful news. Rick M posted a blog last night. Yay Rick. They are still experiencing a horrible drought over the Lake Country region and in fact over most of the Northwest. It's wonderful to see that he and Ruth enjoy having the kids around!

About 230 Mark and I went to Lew and Lynn's pool to refresh ... back home we both had a nap! ✅

Sue and Wayne had a good travel day and found a lovely campground just outside of St. Louis for the night.

Dawn was called into work. Randy drove her as traffic lights are still out. She will be working until 8 o'clock. Tomorrow is trash pick up day which means everyone was working hard to get things on the curb for tomorrow's pick up. It's been quite a stressful week! They had good news when Randy got home and discovered the power was on! Yay! We hope the water has been restored to, and if so we will go there to replenish our water jugs tomorrow!

High water at RanDawn's ...

Apparently it is going down, not up!

Dinner done and dishes cleaned up, we're all in the bedroom with the window shaker running! Cool.

Ta Ta til tomorrow.
