Mark got up at 6 o’clock and began cutting a tree down across the street. It was one that had grown in an odd shape due to overcrowding. Marky-Mark wanted it gone. Presto! I looked out the window at 8:30 and a good majority of that tree is down and bundled at the curb. Since Mark is working alone, it’ll take a few more days to get it all done. (It’s all down WOWSA ... just a stump left! 😲)
Later today, we’re invited to join a Labor Day party in Larry’s community. It’s a potluck, and he’s made three dishes to take to cover us all. Very generous. It’s an indoor party so the forecast of rain at 5 o’clock won’t bother us. It’ll be nice to see his place which he’s been remodeling since March.
Well, Mark and I went to the Shangri-La Labor Day party. It was a potluck dinner followed by card bingo. I’ve never seen this played before and it was fun! Each group of four people got a deck of cards and dealt 13 cards per person, (the entire deck.) The caller shuffled the cards and then turned them up one at a time just like a bingo game. Well, Mark won twice, in a row. Ha ha ha. He won a few bucks! It was hilarious as he was supposed to yell “Bingo” but didn’t ... so I yelled (oh yeah! HE WON HE WON HE WON!!!) 😂 OMG I had a blast.
Afterwards, we went back to Larry‘s and had a drink and met a couple of his local friends. It was a fun evening. When we got home, we gave the dogs a frosty paws and sat on the front porch with a nightcap. What a great Labor Day it was.
We found Randy & Dawn and unfortunately Randy is still in a lot of pain. Tomorrow is therapy for him at 2:30 so we hope he will get more “bendie!” 😱 tomorrow evening, we are going to Oakwood smokehouse for $11.99 full-rack ribs with Rose & Jim. Hopefully, Randy & Dawn will be able to join us. ❤️
