Good morning y’all. Yes, the sun is shining here in the middle peninsula. Our plan today is a ride with the kids to Norfolk. On the way, we’re checking out the facilities at Yogi’s Jellystone for Karen for a VIP campout next year.

Well, we had quite a ride today. The campground for a VIP camp out looks great. They have Wi-Fi and TV, +2 interesting pools and a waterslide for the kids. I took some video and sent it to Karen. I expect they will book it for next year’s long trip.

After that, we went to Norfolk and over so many bridges, I lost count. Ha ha. The bridge over the James River is about 6 miles long. There are Sandy beaches, numerous of them, along the shores of the different tributaries.

This is the bridge over the James River. Height is 13‘11“, so a restricted crossing. The water looked very clean, and the boat traffic was numerous.

There’s about 6 miles of four-lane road to Newport News, a large ship building area.

Mark wanted to see some battleships at Norfolk, but they were on the opposite side, miles away. Everything looks so close on the map. Ha ha. Not so.

This area is absolutely gorgeous, with so many things to see and do. If you’re into the revolutionary war history, there are many sites to visit.

We arrived home about 3 o’clock, having been away at least four hours. Randy & Dawn phoned and we yakked for a while. They are going to Dan and Mary‘s for dinner tonight. Nice.

Susan & Wayne reported a big thunderstorm last night. Hopefully, there was no tree damage. They were off running errands and having lunch in town along with the Shizzles. ๐Ÿ˜œ

For dinner tonight, we are going to the clubhouse for a barbecue. (It was pulled pork, baked beans and fries.) The fries were great. ๐Ÿ˜œ After the kids got their french fry treat we took them for a ride to the lake. It’s a great evening ... we sat out for an hour before getting into a game of Rummy.

This wee firefly is getting ready for dusk.

Ta ta til tomorrow when we have a big Walmart trip ... it’s 20 miles from here!
