It’s Columbus Day here in the USA, a controversial one. Banks and post offices are closed and everything else is “Columbus Day Sale” ... whoop-dee-do. What ol’ Chris brought to the natives of the land was disease, enslavement; and one of the cruelest periods of human history.
So ... good morning y’all. 😜 Florida has a visitor coming, uninvited ... Hurricane Michael. It’s a fast moving storm that could build to a Category 3 before blowing through the Gulf coast quickly. We in Central Florida are likely to have rain, up to a foot along the coast.
I put a black dot on the photo to show you where we are in relation to the hurricane alert. We should be fine unless the track changes drastically.
Otherwise it’s just another day in paradise. 🌴
Just after 5 o’clock now when we’re enjoying happy hour on the front porch with 76°. The kids had frosty paws for their happy hour. We talked to Rick and Ruth via FaceTime tonight and saw the progress on their coach house apartment. They celebrated Thanksgiving on Friday with family and from the island. It was good catching up and hearing about their grandchildren.
Karen & Pete wanted to go to dinner tonight, but they were very busy, and we were exhausted from our last two nights out. So, we will reconvene after Yaya’s on Thursday.
For us, it’s a night of telly and relaxing. The doggies will be very happy to have us at home.
