Happy 250th U S A

Good morning, and a happy Fourth of July. Mark wore his “we the people are pissed off “ T-shirt to breakfast at Darrell‘s diner. It wasn’t very busy being just 7:30 am. Mark was hungry, but I had to bring most of mine home for lunch later on.

With the summer heat upon us, we’ve been walking Wyatt about 615 in the morning. It’s muggy, but cool-ish. One day last week it was 65 in the morning but most mornings it’s around 75. Daytime highs lately have been in the 90s and we’ve been hibernating.

Since my last Blog I learned to play Mahjong and enjoy it!!! My set of tiles are spread out at one end of the kitchen table so I can practice a hand or two every day. Of course once I get onto this 2026 national Mahjong league card, it will be updated and I will learn a whole new batch of hands. 🤪  There’s a version you play online, but having an iPhone and no tablet it’s a bit difficult!

A couple of months ago, we began East Coast swing dance lessons. It’s easy and fun. The idea behind this is that we go to all these dinners and dances here in our community and generally sit and watch. Well, you can’t burn a calorie doing that. 😜 We have gotten to know our dance instructors and have gone to dinner with them. They live just down the street from us and we are going there for dinner next Thursday.

In FAMILY news, Diane has a job working at the hospice store and loves it. Kris is waiting for a procedure that will give him better breathing. Meanwhile, they are both happy in their updated mobile home on a big lot. They have two dogs, Belle who is 13 years old and Chewy, a recent adoption.

Randy and Dawn join us fairly often at Applebee’s for family night dinner. Otherwise, they are busy with the granddaughters as Randy is official “Uber” man for after school pickup. It keeps him busy while Dawn is still working three days a week.

Sue and Wayne are still in Florida at this time! Usually, they are way to the lake by now. Wayne has some boat business to handle before they leave.  Meanwhile, we are enjoying having them around and are joining them for dinner tonight.
