Good morning! It was nice to wake to rumblings of thunder and heavy (Florida-style) rain! It’s perfect for today’s task. 😜

The kids brought their pink flamingo to help dad with the stool recovering project. (It’s a project alright!) OMG, things were glued and stapled; Mark had a time getting the fabric off the seat!

We had a lazy afternoon, including a nap, and then a ride to the store to pick up some potting soil to finish my project with the spider plants.

Randy & Dawn phoned. They had been to see Rocketman at the movie theater. As you know, we really enjoyed it, and apparently they did too. We made plans to celebrate Dawn and Mark‘s birthdays at the end of the month.

Since I had not heard from the doctors office regarding a surgery date, I phoned. At first, I got a busy signal and then eventually was able to reach someone. The girl who schedules his surgeries is apparently away this week. It was unclear as to whether it’s a scheduled away or a surprise to everyone. In any event, I think it’s time to get a second opinion. That doctor’s office is very disheveled.

It cooled off beautifully, actually all day. So, this evening we took a nice ride on the Caddy with the kids.

Good morning. It’s a beautiful start to our day with a high of 84 forecast. That means rain this afternoon. We will take it. It keeps the heat down.

Today is baking for the dogs. I’ll be making their pumpkin applesauce oatmeal cookies, plus their peanut butter cookies. Meanwhile, Mark is doing a little pressure washing out back.

Chores done, we made date night plans with RanDawn in Mt Dora. An hour later, Karen and Pete asked what we were doing. Mark texted back and invited them to join the fun.

PizzAmore in Mt. Dora was GREAT! We all enjoyed the food and said it was very good ... Pete said better than Vincent’s ... Mark said better than Angelo’s ... and I said better than Stavros! 😜

It’s a neat placeboff the beaten path ... we’ll be back!

Tuesday, July 11, 2019

Good afternoon. We just had some heavy rain move through our area with a thunderstorm. Meanwhile, Sue and Wayne sent a picture from Inn of the Woods in Kenora. I’d say they’re getting rain today too!

It’s 55F there right now.

Can you tell it’s cookie time here?

High five from Robbie πŸΎπŸ’• ... it’s lunchtime mom!

We 14 girls had a blast playing Phase 10 and another table played Rummicube. Deenna had snacks galore and Carol brought delicious oatmeal cranberry cookies. Stories were told, doctor grievances aired and there was plenty of fun.

Back home, Mark had cooked up a batch of spaghetti for our dinner. Our plan was a swim at L & L’s pool until we checked the weather! Storms all about! So, it was TV time. 😜

Tomorrow we’re meeting RanDawn somewhere for dinner.

Good afternoon sunshine! It’s nice to you before the thunderstorms begin again. 😜

Mark ran the shopping errands today while I went to see the ENT specialist. The office was full of patients but I was in and out on time. πŸ‘πŸ» The CT scan showed blockage from narrowed sinus passages which require surgery asap. It’s an out-patient procedure ... I’m ready to put these bouts of sinusitis behind me!

My spider plant was out of control with a hundred good-sized babies. So, I cleaned it up, soaked the sprouts and potted several.

Cute eh?

Sunday, July 9, 2019

Good morning. Well, it’s a gorgeous day here in Central Florida at 78°F ... but, rain is forecast later today. As you all know, that is A-OK with us. Randy and Dawn are on the way home from Atlanta, so we hope they get through without any slick roads.

I had planned to paint our outdoor backyard bar furniture. Mark did a little scraping on one of the barstools and discovered it is rusted nearly through and not worth painting the set. Drat. But, we don’t use it very often now so perhaps we will go with a different style of outdoor furniture. Maybe a weatherproof bench?

Randy & Dawn arrived home around 5:30 after a drive in heavy rain. They had a fantastic trip and would love to go again. We will get with them on Wednesday and hear all the stories.

Saturday, June 8, 2019

Good afternoon y’all ... it’s a lovely day here in Central Florida. We tackled a few things this morning ... like saddle soap cleaning our leather furniture ... egad, it’s 3 shades lighter now. 😜 Next, the Scotties had baths while I washed their bedding. We’re pooped. πŸ˜…

We had heavy rain and a thunderstorm this morning ... so we enjoyed our coffee on the front porch. Schweeet. The air was so clean.

RanDawn had a great evening at the Nashville concert last night. They saw half a dozen great performances! Now, they’re on the drive home; well, halfway today.

Tonight, Mark and I are going to Sip, a jazz club in Leesburg, for dinner with Karen & Pete. Alan’s playing there tonight ... 🎷.

Great show!! We had a fantastic evening!

Pete and Karen ... VIPs 😜

Friday, June 7, 2019

Good morning. I guess I should have done a before and after picture. There was a solid door hanging in our RV hallway/bedroom. It opened into the bedroom and blocked the only window that the Scotty’s could easily see out of. Well, that couldn’t be. So, Mark remove the door and I ordered a pleated door that folds flat against the jamb. It will allow a seat at the window for the kids to enjoy. 99% of the time that door was open anyway, and we now have a pleated linen door for the odd time that we need it. Cool. 😎

At 8:30, Mark did his first good deed of the day. Our neighbors Sy and Kate had a new roof put on their boathouse. There was no way for the manufacturer to put the top trim on on the water side. Sy had phoned yesterday asked Mark if the fella could work off our pontoon boat. Done. ✅

Now at 10:30, the rig is parked in the driveway and Mark is installing the new door. Schweeet. I am waiting to do my part for when the air conditioner does its part. Ha ha. It’s muggy but breezy this morning. (Too warm for me ... I’m a melter!)

Sue and Wayne had their first dinner party at the lake last night at Donna and Dennis’s home. Since they didn’t send me a text that they were home until 130 in the morning, I’m guessing it was a fun time. 🍷 x ?

Randy, Dawn, Dan & Mary went to the Nashville Opry last night ... tonite they’re going to an outdoor concert starring Carrie Underwood then starting back to Florida tomorrow. Have a grand time! 😜
