Sunday, January 9, 2022

Good evening. It’s now 830 and we have just sat down with a drink. This morning, Mark went early with Bob to the woods. The only thing they saw were bears, lots of  bears this year. They were back home by 11.

I had been working on eBay listings for Sue all morning while the Scotties enjoyed some time on the front porch. It was a beautiful morning, just in the 70s.

Diane and Kris did the walk-through on Sue and Wayne‘s new house today. The seller still has a few things to move, and tomorrow is closing day. πŸ™„ They are going back to the house tomorrow to do another walk-through just prior to the closing at 10 o’clock.

Mark has our truck loaded with tools he needs to do some (minor) repairs before their furniture arrives on Tuesday. We’re in charge of the furniture placement (Tuesday) and will be there with the movers.

Sue and Wayne will arrive late Monday with the coach and stay nearby. It’s all very exciting = stressful. Fingers crossed for a smooth move!

Yesterday … dum dum dum … Mark did a criminal act!!!

Yup! Mark removed the DO NOT REMOVR label from our new camp chairs. πŸ˜‚

Saturday, January 8, 2022

Good afternoon. Mark was up and out at 5:30 to go hunting with Bob. When he gets home I will see what he got on his videos. Lately, it has been Bears. There are plenty of bears around.

Me? Well I had the usual loads of laundry, fertilized the house plants, replaced the Britta filters in our two jugs, washed the kitchen and hallway floors and printed a label for Ebay. This afternoon, I am going to paint.

Much to be done … it looks very staged right now but this is where I’m at today.

Robbie and BeeZee enjoyed a couple of hours of sunshine on the front porch while I was puttering around. It was a beautiful morning! This afternoon will be in the mid 70s. You just can’t beat Florida in the winter.

This is from Scott in Connecticut. I asked if he was on his way down, and he said yes, in two weeks. 🌴

Mark pulled the big 5th wheel hitch off and cleaned the bed of our Dodge for working at K’s on Monday and Tuesday. The movers won’t arrive until Tuesday … so we’re handling the inspection punch list starting Monday. Diane and Kris are doing the walkthrough.  It’s a family affair. πŸ˜‚ By the time Sue and Wayne arrive late Tuesday, the rugs and furniture will be in place. πŸ˜…

Tonight, we had an easy supper, went for a walk with the dogs, then sat on the front porch for a couple of hours listening to music and just enjoying the evening air.

The last day of deer hunting is tomorrow … so Mark and Bob will be gone early again.

Friday, January 7, 2022

Good afternoon. I was up early working on my big painting. The kids came and sat out here in the sunroom with me and we put the news on. They are so cute, they love to be wherever we are. Mark managed to sleep in until 830, very good for him.

My wee Scottish helpers πŸΎπŸ’•

We had plans to go out tonight, but after listening to the news and hearing that the omicron virus is rampant, and this is probably the worst weekend for it in Florida, we have decided to stay home. When I talked to Diane and Kris this afternoon they said the same thing. They are staying home. Anyway, tonight on the history channel the proof is out there, the newest series.  I will be tuned in. πŸ‘½

WOWSA!!! Scary stuff … got to rewatch this one!

Thursday, January 6, 2022

Good afternoon. It’s now 330 and I’m just getting a chance to start the blog. After doing today’s chores, we took a ride to the accountants to drop off my tax information. That felt good, just getting it out of the house. Ha ha. I’m sure I will get calls for verification of things, but at least it is started. We also had a return to make at the Home Depot and accomplish that on the way. Then, they were valentine cards to pick up for the girls as well as a birthday card and gift wrap for our friend Eddi. We are going to a surprise party for him on Wednesday.

Mark got up full of ambition today and clean the canvas tops on Mrs. R B. Geez, we don’t remember when it was last cleaned. After laying in the sun drying, they look pretty darn good.

Did we tell you our exciting news? Pam is coming to visit, arriving Valentine’s Day. Then, Markymark and Lani asked about a Beatles concert will be held in Weirsdale Florida. That will be Friday night, so we bought tickets for the three of us to join them. It’ll be loads of fun, a trip down memory lane.

I talked to Diane today and heard she got a card from aunt Jane. Both her and Kris were so touched by it and so happy that she remembers Beau so very well.

Isn’t that sweet! Diane and Kris were sure touched!

After dinner, we walked the dogs and saw the rocket’s trail … still amazing to us. Had it been a night launch πŸš€ I’d have posted pics.

Wednesday, January 5, 2022

Good afternoon. Well, I guess it’s nice to be missed. Thanks for checking in on me Jim. On Monday, I started sorting out my paperwork for business taxes. It was a lot more work than what I thought, and I continued on it after my doctors appointment on Tuesday.

Last night, we went to LaDonna and Wayne‘s for pizza and sat on their front porch with our dogs and smoked cigars. It was a beautiful evening, jacket weather … just a little bit cool. The sunset was amazing.

Today, the dogs have been sitting on the front porch helping Mark re-screen the garage doors. There’s always something to be done, isn’t there?

Clean & fresh looking! Good job Mark!

I finished up the tail end of the tax paperwork and called my accountant. Now, I’ll take a drive and drop it off to him for the bookkeeper to begin that part of it. It was a pretty good year, well, a lot of eBay activity with consignments.  Our friend Lynn had us sell some of her late husband’s things on eBay. Then Markymark brought over boxes of things to sell after they settled in. That helped to drive business and I sold several paintings and knickknacks.

Sunday, January 2, 2022

Good evening y’all. We started our day at KimBob’s for a patio brunch. The champagne was flowing … Bob was at the big grill … bacon, ham, sausages, cheesy scrambled eggs, peppers ‘n onions, mushrooms, potatoes, banana bread, pumpkin muffins and toast. It was quite the feast!

Lani and Markymark were there too … beautiful morning, slight breeze off the lake and 72F. Life is pretty darn good. We were there from 9 to 12:30 … and KimBob didn’t want us to go. πŸ˜‚

Back home there was a lack of motivation … so we napped and watched some football.

Saturday January 1st 2022

It’s an extra warm start to 2022 here in Central Florida. That’s okay, no complaints.

This morning Mark and I hauled the Christmas trees back to their closet and tidied up from last night’s fun.
He wanted to park The Caddy back in the garage … but we have boxes of Sue’s things for eBay piled up … plus a 9x12 carpet. (Good luck Mark.) I started listing a few items and showed Mark how to do list an item. (He wasn’t interested apparently.) πŸ˜‚
