Good morning sunshine! We regrouped over breakfast of sausage, eggs and provolone cheese prepared by Mark. πŸ‘¨‍🍳 We’re having a lazy time with music on the intercom system and TV showing Elsa’s tropical storm progress. During the night Wayno got a tornado alert for Lake County. The tornado didn’t touch down, fortunately.

After breakfast, we went down to the beach at 16th St. and Waynoe tried out his metal detector, while LaDonna and I walked towards Lighthouse. We didn’t go that far, plenty of seaweed in and big old dark colored waves were rolling in. We found a few bits of coral and sponge, and a few shells. It was fun. Then, we watch the 120 kids at surfing camp. They were having a blast.

Beach babes

We came home to regroup after spending a few hours at the beach, ate lunch and ended up in the pool for another three hours. Robbie relaxed in the ark once he had his life saver on.

That’s our sweet Robbie in Mark‘s ark, 🐾πŸ₯°

Mark’s in the ark! πŸ˜‚ We had tons of fun.

We had dinner at home tonight, steaks on the barbecue, asparagus and a Caesar salad. Everything was delicious as always. Afterwards, we sat outside with the balmy breeze while the guys smoked cigars.  We had some music on I just enjoyed the evening.

Dining room dinner partayyy!

After dinner it was back porch sitting til 10 when we watched the hockey game. What a fun day.

Good afternoon. Today is Mark‘s birthday!

Best wishes for a wonderful year. πŸ₯‚πŸΎπŸŽΆπŸŽ‚❤️

We had a pretty good sleep last night and the dogs stayed in the room with us and just slept. I guess they’re a little swim in the pool last night wore them out, plus no naps after we got there, as it was just too exciting following Mark and I around the big house.

Wayne and LaDonna left home at 10:30 today so we will be expecting them around 230. Meanwhile, we made a run to Walgreens for a couple of items, then the liquor store next-door, and now to Lowe’s to pick up a part for a minor repair at the house. I swear, Mark can fix anything.

Tonight we had dinner at Piranha Pat’s … and it was great. Mark and I had ribs, chicken wings, broccoli and coleslaw. LaDonna had Mahi Mahi and Wayno loved his Phillycheesesteak.

Fun times!

I need a lot longer arms for this selfie.

Back at the K’s air b n b we girls went swimming while Wayno fished and birthday boy smoked cigars. Now we’re sitting out enjoying the balmy breezes.

Monday, July 5, 2021

Good morning sunshine! Our plans are to be on da road south to the K’s mansion for a swim and fishing! The KIA Sorento is loaded … if we do this kinda trip again we’ll take the truck. πŸ˜…

Overnight, bomb crews took down the remaining portion of the fallen condo in Surfside Florida. It’s horrible, the people in the adjacent tower had 15 minutes to gather what they wanted from their homes … just awful. PTSD will remain with those unfortunate families forever. Our favorite lawyers, Morgan & Morgan, have teamed up with a south Florida firm to get justice (compensation) for the families. Mark read yesterday that the developer from the huge new condo next door gave $400,000 to each displaced owner (or heirs); it seemed extremely generous, and it is, but then another article read that while putting up the new condo, the ground was disturbed at the Champlain towers. Hmmm 🧐 …

We left home at 9:08, having prepped the home for a tropical storm, just in case. As you see, the Kia is well loaded.

It’s 12:21 and we’re back on the road after a rest area lunch stop. Traffic's getting heavy now as we pass Stuart. Good driving weather … cloudy and 82.

We arrived safely at 1:15 … I unpacked while Mark went for groceries for our dinner. Robbie and BeeZee checked out the house following on my heels.  They’ll be fine. I brought a bag of their favorite toys.

After a dinner of rotisserie chicken, from Publix, and rice for the dogs Mark settled in to figure out the TV and I went in the pool. It was a partay of one πŸ˜‚πŸ’¦

Yeah yeah, it tried to rain on my parade, but just don’t get in my drink. πŸ’¦πŸ˜‚

This is the best resort ever. We sat outside till nearly 10 o’clock, no bugs, no rain, just drinks on ice. And then some asshole started shooting off more fireworks.

Will say good night now, as I’m sure there’s a bit of TV to watch before bedtime. What a great place this is, and thanks to the K’s for their awesome B&B.   πŸ₯‚πŸΎπŸ’₯πŸ’¦❤️

πŸ’₯πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ₯‚πŸΎπŸŽ‚πŸ₯° Happy 4th of July America! It’s Independence Day here in the ol’ USA. It’s a day of BBQ’s, fireworks and friends for many. (We had our fun Friday night at Nancy’s.)

We spent our 4th readying the house and car for a wee vacation. It’s loaded … going to pull out in the morning.

That’s about it then! πŸΎπŸ’•πŸ˜‚

Just after dinner Lani & Mark dropped in with food for our trip. (He always has road trip food prepared for our first night.) Sweet, eh! πŸ₯° They had a drink and headed home for a clam bake … just like Gidget. 🏝 πŸ˜‚

Wayne called, he and Sue were worn out after having had the family out for the weekend. It’s been very hot there in the upper 90s! Here’s the latest on Elsa …

🀷‍♀️ … it’s a crap shoot 🎲 … might as well carry on. πŸ˜‰

Meantime, our pal Bonnie in Oklahoma showed her puppy Layla! She’s gorgeous, and the Scottie too!

Tonight, we are going to watch Blake Shelton’s Fourth of July presentation on TV … right after our evening walk. πŸ₯°
BTW … massive block busters going off around the ‘hood and our two Scotties are sleeping peacefully.  (We don’t make a fuss … so they don’t either!) Easy peasy. 🀷‍♀️

Saturday, July 3, 2021

Good morning y’all … it’s another rainy start to our day! The air is so clean! πŸ₯° We’re still watching Hurricane Elsa weave her way through the Caribbean sea.

This afternoon we are going to see “Mamma Mia” at the theater with Lani and Mark, Kim and Bob. We saw the set when we were at the theater a few weeks ago and it’s terrific. If you’ve seen the movie you’ll know that it’s set on an island in Greece. I’ll try and snap a picture or two discreetly as the play is going on.

The play didn’t end until 445, so we declined going to dinner with the gang and came to walk and feed. It was a great day!

Friday, July 2, 2021

Good morning. As we are readying for a South Florida trip, hurricane Elsa is apparently taking aim. 🀨 It’s not going to stop our fun trip, but it could be a bit worrisome leaving our Central Florida home. We have great friends in the hood who will keep watch for us. Elsa is only a Cat 1 … but allegedly so was 2005 Wilma. πŸ™„

So we have some fun planned today. This is Mark‘s birthday month and we are celebrating with Randy and Dawn with dinner in downtown Eustis. The first Friday Street party starts at 6 o’clock and culminates with fireworks at 9:30. We won’t stay that long as we are invited to a neighborhood party to watch the Eustis fireworks from Nancy‘s dock. There will be appetizers and drinks and lots of friends there. Randy and Dawn have been invited as well. KaBoom πŸ’₯

Tillie’s was great! The new location was happening … nice decor, reminded Randy of Winnipeg’s ORIGIY Old Spaghetti Factory.  The food and service were great!!

It’s now going on 1 o’clock and we are home from Nancy’s. We had a great fun time and her sister Barb, and her brother-in-law David, from Cincinnati, were there. As a joke, she sent her sister and brother an invitation to watch the fireworks. Well, Barb and David jumped in their RV and drove down and just arrived today. They will be heading back on Monday, but a good joke on Nancy and lots of fun. There was plenty of room, the drink of the evening, snacks and singing. We’re not entirely sure what the songs were, but we all sang along. LOL  I can hear Rick M holding his ears. He he he.

Thursday July 1st, 2021

Good morning …

I was up before the birds … just too warm. Our bedroom A/C is scheduled for replacement and the “check’s in the mail” from Frigidaire. Soon. So here I sit watching Good Bones and drinking an icy seltzer water. πŸ˜‹

We were talking with Rick M yesterday afternoon. Western Canada is in an extreme heat wave and more than 500 people have died as a result already.

Here’s a pic of the heat dome over North America

It’s time to build an ark … those glaciers have got to be dissolving. If people are suffering then wildlife is suffering too! Please help where you can by putting fresh water outside for the critters and birds. (In Oklahoma when we were there in 2011 they had 66 days of over 100°, including night time. I ran the sprinklers for a half hour each day just to let the little squirrels and birds cool down and get a drink.)

Al Gore warned us …

Tropical storm Elsa is the 5th named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season … another sign of climate change. At this time we could have a taste of it anywhere in Florida.

We finally got a chance to walk the dogs about 8 o’clock, between rain showers. Now it’s just time for TV. I hope you’ve had a good Thursday.
