Overnight, bomb crews took down the remaining portion of the fallen condo in Surfside Florida. It’s horrible, the people in the adjacent tower had 15 minutes to gather what they wanted from their homes … just awful. PTSD will remain with those unfortunate families forever. Our favorite lawyers, Morgan & Morgan, have teamed up with a south Florida firm to get justice (compensation) for the families. Mark read yesterday that the developer from the huge new condo next door gave $400,000 to each displaced owner (or heirs); it seemed extremely generous, and it is, but then another article read that while putting up the new condo, the ground was disturbed at the Champlain towers. Hmmm π§ …
We left home at 9:08, having prepped the home for a tropical storm, just in case. As you see, the Kia is well loaded.
It’s 12:21 and we’re back on the road after a rest area lunch stop. Traffic's getting heavy now as we pass Stuart. Good driving weather … cloudy and 82.
We arrived safely at 1:15 … I unpacked while Mark went for groceries for our dinner. Robbie and BeeZee checked out the house following on my heels. They’ll be fine. I brought a bag of their favorite toys.
After a dinner of rotisserie chicken, from Publix, and rice for the dogs Mark settled in to figure out the TV and I went in the pool. It was a partay of one ππ¦
Yeah yeah, it tried to rain on my parade, but just don’t get in my drink. π¦π
This is the best resort ever. We sat outside till nearly 10 o’clock, no bugs, no rain, just drinks on ice. And then some asshole started shooting off more fireworks.
Will say good night now, as I’m sure there’s a bit of TV to watch before bedtime. What a great place this is, and thanks to the K’s for their awesome B&B. π₯πΎπ₯π¦❤️
