Good morning y’all. Mark’s been up since 4 o’clock but fell asleep in his chair with BeeZee on his lap. Robs and I woke at 6 ... still early!

It’s a foggy start which may have caused the fatalities at 44 and Apiary Road near us earlier. The highway is closed in both directions right now. Sad. That stretch needs speed monitoring; it’s too fast for a 2 lane road.

We got the RV out then Mark went grocery shopping for our “forest” camping weekend. Meanwhile, I put the second coat onto the backside of the starboard side forward seats. cool! Tomorrow morning, I’ll put a coat on the fronts and finish those up tomorrow.

Mark is taking the Kia in for service this afternoon and Lew’s going along to help Mark eat his money’s worth of free hot dogs. Ha ha ha. πŸ˜‹

It’s game day for me at Toni’s ... and I haven’t been to her home!

Tonight, we met Randy & Dawn at CJ‘s seafood in downtown Eustis. We had lots of laughs, and had a great waitress that sounded like their friend Mary. Dinner was great.

Fab fun with RanDawn. ❤️

Monday, January 13, 2020

Good morning. Yes, it’s another bright beautiful sunshiny day here in Central Florida. After breakfast, Mark took a load of tree limbs to the dump and then will do a few errands on his way home. Me? I began with another coat of stain blocker on the boat seats and then gessoed three canvases for future art projects. 😜

There’s plenty to be done today, but just pace ourselves. After all, retirement is supposed to be a bit lazy isn’t it?

We had a fun time last night. We met LaDonna and Wayne at Stavros for dinner and then went back to their place for drinks. They’re two corgis are so playful and fun. Why didn’t I get a picture of the pups? Duh.

Wayne, LaDonna and us at Stavros!

This afternoon I took the Scotties for a ride on The Caddy ... such a lovely day?  Lew popped over for happy hour and we sat on the front porch yakking for an hour.

Tomorrow is gonna be a busy day ... pulling the RV out, KIA in for service and game day! Holy moly. 😳

Happy anniversary to Susan and Wayne. They are celebrating with friends tonight having dinner at Carrabba’s ! Here’s to another year of wedded bliss. πŸ₯‚πŸΎ

It was 40° below zero that day, and Sue’s flowers had to be wrapped in plastic just to walk from the car to the church, about 50 feet.

So today’s mission, at our house, was to get another branch or two off the sick sycamore tree.

Yup, that’s my monkey er, Man up the tree! Three branches a week he says is the goal.

This evening, we met LaDonna and Wayne at Stavros for dinner and then went to their house for drinks afterwards. It was a great evening. On the way home, it was still 74°

What the heck ... we’re both up getting things done at 5 a.m. Mark is replacing the well pressure tank this morning, finally. (He’s been planning the project for a week!) So, in case there’s a problem, I showered and washed my hair then did laundry! 😜

Robs and Bee are disapproving of these early days. πŸΎπŸ’•. πŸ˜‚

It’s now going on 1 o’clock and we’re ready to turn the water πŸ’¦ on ...

Who’s the MAN? Mark is! We have water ... saved the $380 service bill. πŸ˜…

It’s springtime warm this week ... mid-80’s starting tomorrow. πŸ‘πŸ»

While Mark watched football, I ‘finished’ my big painting ... the first in twenty years. Yeah, I’m rusty; but so nice to get back into it. ☺️

You can see it’s a gallery canvas and I painted the sides ... challenging.

Good morning! Yeah, I promised BIG news today and I shall deliver. The Harris Chain of Lakes is getting another pontooner!

RanDawn bought a 2019 Quest 20’ pontoon boat ... and they couldn’t be any happier. Congratulations! It’s going to be named River Haven! Cool 😎 beaners! I suspect there’ll be some raft-up parties in our future!

This morning, Randy and Mark are taking our Dodge to Homosassa Springs to pick up River Haven and haul it home for Randy & Dawn. They won’t launch it today as Randy needs to buy a few necessities. (A boat hook would be a fine start!) 🀣 On Dawn‘s next day off, we’ll launch it for them!

Crying over spent money 🀣

Captin Randy!

Mark was home by 5ish and we ate leftovers and watched TV and enjoyed wine. Ta ta til tomorrow y’all.

Good afternoon. It’s been a busy day around here. Mark spent the afternoon helping Marky-Mark with the boat cradle, again. It’s turned out to be a bigger job than they thought. 🀨

Meanwhile, I worked on the boat seats, getting a coat of the stain blocker onto another four pieces.

My assembly line ... ready for the taupe color paint tomorrow! This will take care of the captains seat, and the side seat where the dogs and I like to sit plus the two back seats. The next job will be the two large sofas on either side!

It was also baking day for the dogs. Today I made them a batch of beef and cheddar biscuits. The Melon  Baller worked perfectly for keeping the cookie size consistent. After that, I baked eight potatoes for them ... with olive oil and garlic.  That’ll keep them going for a couple of weeks!

There was a big kerfuffle in the neighborhood yesterday. Our neighbor Angie‘s dog was being walked by her brother Bill. Bill lost control and their dog Bella attacked Marky-Mark’s dog Brady. It was a very vicious attack and Brady suffered puncture wounds. He went to the vet today, but M should have gone to our emergency vet last night πŸ™„. Brady suffered very deep puncture wounds that were nearly life ending. The neighbor paid the vet bill, but it has us all worried as to what has happened to make Bella suddenly vicious. (A few weeks ago, Bella got out of Bill‘s control and tried to attack our dogs through our front screen. We were sitting there along with Lew and couldn’t believe what happened.) Marky-Mark is going to file a police report as we are sure something further is going to happen. Bill is not strong enough to walk that dog. They either need to get their yard fenced or a have dog trainer come in and work with them.

Tonight, I’m going with the girls to Yaya‘s at Carol‘s and Mark is going with Jim, Lew, Ken and Marky-Mark for pub grub. πŸ‘πŸ»

We played a new game ... lots of fun. Dinner was chicken enchiladas with beans ‘n rice.

It wasn’t easy to get everyone’s attention ... and Lynn walked into the picture just as the shutter clicked. 😳

Nancy, Rose, Carol, Trina & Suzanne

Mark enjoyed a cigar at Lew’s after dinner at Tillie’s and was home later than me! Unusual. 😜

Big surprise news in tomorrow’s blog. 😜

Wednesday, January 8, 2020

Good afternoon. It’s a bright beautiful sunshiny day here, but a little bit cooler than usual. Mark is finding it perfect weather for helping Marky-Mark move a boat cradle from one boathouse to another. He’s been home a few times for other tools and supplies. I think it is quite a challenge. Someone, hee hee, needs to remember ... measure twice and cut once.

Meanwhile, I made a batch of peanut butter and oatmeal dog cookies for Robbie and Elise. They sure love them and the house smells yummy. Tomorrow, I will make them a batch of beef and cheddar cookies. I couldn’t do it today as I was out of beef broth. We’ll go shopping later today and pick some up. Meanwhile, I did laundry and began painting more boat seats. Let’s hope this works, as many hours are going into it.

It’s date night but we will not be seeing Randy and Dawn as they are going out of town with Dan and Mary in the motorhome. It’s just for one night, but we hope they have good weather and lots of fun.

LaDonna called at 4 o’clock wondering if we would meet them at Stavros for dinner. That sounded perfect and so we did. Connor was our server and we had a few laughs. Afterward, Wayne & LaDonna came over for drinks and enjoyed a fire.

Wayne and LaDonna left at 11, Mark went to bed and I enjoyed the last vestiges of the fire. Tata, it’s been a great day here in Central Florida. πŸ₯°
