Monday January 7, 2019

Good early morning! The History Channel has some awesome programming this week. Plenty of new scientists onboard with great data. Last night we watched Vanished about the thousands of cases of people who apparently disappeared very possibly through stargates in our National Parks. Mark’s comment was “hi-tech” ... me, Membrane Theory.

Anyway, I woke up coughing, turned on the telly and voila, more good stuff to exercise my brain.

Mark’s away at the post office with 3 jewelry eBay sales and grocery shopping while I make potatoes and sweet potatoes for the Robbie and BeeZee meals.  Since I’m still laying low with my sinus/bronchitis bout I worked on ornaments for the Sunroom’s Christmas tree until 3:30 when Mark came home from an eye doctor appointment. Then Lew ambled over with a tall beer in hand ... then Marky-Mark arrived with his in hand. I just love a front porch party!

Randy is golfing tomorrow! We’re so glad he’s getting back at it after his difficult knee replacement surgery last July. Good deal Randy! Dawn’s at work today and tomorrow but I hope she’ll join me for YaYa’s on Wednesday!

Hey hey hey it’s 5 o’clock somewhere and that’s HERE! Tonight we’re meeting Randy and Dawn at Stavros along with Lani and Marky-Mark. I’m feeling a good bit better and am not contagious 😷 so there. (Hack hack hack πŸ™„)

Sue and Wayne have been invited to dinner at their friends’ home, Amy and Raymond. Even the dogs have been invited! Now that’s some nice friends. I hope Shorty Hot Pants realizes and behaves. 😜 We all know that Julius will be perfect.

I’ve been thinking about our friend Scott today and wondering how he’s doing. We sure hope to see him in Florida again soon. If you’re following the blog Scott best wishes to you πŸ€—

Mark did plenty of catch-up chores today and even got the car washed. I worked on our sunroom Christmas tree most of the afternoon. Another afternoon of effort and I’ll be able to put it in the closet til next year.

It was fun to get with RanDawn tonight ... And Wednesday is date night so more fun coming. It was a very good evening.

Tonight’s snuggle-buggle with the kids on the sofa. And yes, they had pizza-bones. πŸΎπŸ’•

Saturday, January 5, 2019

Good morning. Well, I had a very restless night coughing after taking a Mucinex before bed. I knew that was going to happen, but I had no idea just how much coughing was going to be involved. This morning, my stomach feels like I have done 1000 sit ups during the night. 🀒 Anyway, I will not take another one of those at bedtime!

Mark, Lew and Benn went to the Ocala forest this morning, the last hunt of this deer season. They have a beautiful day, 59F in the forest now. Today, the excitement was a big shiny black panther! To me, that’s scary! If you Google it, not only is it extremely rare, but almost impossible to find in Florida. So it’s either a leopard or a jaguar with melanistic color variant. (We had one in our neighborhood a few years ago and the neighbor had a perfect picture of him by her pool!)

Today’s job was to de-robe the white Christmas tree. That done, now I can think about what I’d like for next year. I know that tree is going to be somewhat of a Florida theme. That will go perfect with the coloring in the sunroom. So I added 500 turquoise lights and will decorate it tomorrow ... then it’s tucked into the Christmas closet til next season.

Tonight we have a fire on and we’re relaxing watching TV.

Friday, January 4, 2019

Good afternoon. It started out to be quite a normal day. We got the RV parked, the truck covered and began to run our errands before 12. I’ve been having a bout of bronchitis the last few days and Mark thought best I get into the doctor and get some antibiotics. Well, we went to the lake regional urgent care, and I’m sure glad I wasn’t urgent. Two hours and 45 minutes later I came out with my prescriptions.  Now, we’re at Walgreens; Mark ran into drop my prescriptions off and a fast moving squall line came through. Now I’m sitting in the car enjoying the rain while he’s inside waiting for the prescriptions. It’s just been one of those days.

Yup, 10 days of antibiotics ... plus an antifungal pill on days 1, 3, 5, 7 ... Prednisone for 5 days (2 a day) plus Mucinex DM in the morning. 😳 Just how awful is this bronchitis?

Marky-Mark and Lani asked us to go to first Friday in Eustis tonight, but we had to decline. I don’t think I would be much fun with my coughing. Anyway, they have been deciding on a color to paint their house and from the looks of it, it’s going to be a deep gray. They told Mark they are doing some wood accents. Hey, I’m OK with any color because that place hasn’t been painted for as long as we’ve owned across the street. It’s so nice to see the place taking shape. They have finished redoing the efficiency and are now cleaning up “the lodge.”

We talked to Randy & Dawn who were home watching a movie this afternoon. After I talked to them, I remembered mentioning maybe going boating this weekend. I guess that’ll have to wait a few days until I feel better. Drat.

So, you can see it’s been one of those days. We will be happy to get home and pour a glass of wine and sit with our doggies.

Tomorrow’s another day! Ta ta.

Thursday, January 3, 2019

Good early morning! Blah ... I’m going back to bed.

It’s nearly 6 o’clock this evening and we’ve had a busy day. We tidied the RV and prepped it for another January trip later in the month. After that, we drop it off at GRW for revisions.

It was a paperwork day for me along with gathering tax records and creating our 2019 budget. Our budget looks like the Federal one ... it doesn’t balance. 😬 Ha!

Mark cleaned the RV roof and slides and tomorrow, after more washing, we’ll back it into the port. (He plans to hunt this weekend and wants his slate clean.)

My motivation to get things in order is to redecorate my trees for next Christmas. Ha ha ha ... Oh oh oh ... Ho Ho Ho.

I was able to book our south Florida RV trip for the end of March. We’re spending 3 nights at John Prince and will visit Matt and family ... then 4 nights at Markham park.

Tonight we’re having Gumbo that RanDawn brought us from their November Charleston trip. Mark sauteed onions and sausages and added them to the mix. It sure smells delicious.

Wednesday January 2, 2019

Good morning sunshine! We sure didn’t expect Savannah to be so warm at this time of year! What a grand trip hanging out with our RV friends. We made a few new ones thanks to dining out with Karen and Pete. It’s always good to know the bartenders Linda and Phil ... Lil and Dick ... Saul and Lisa ... Tommy and Nancy. I’m writing this down to cement their names in my brain. (Mark called Maya’s husband David a wrongo-nameo!) 😳 To be fair I messed up Monica’s name but the music was so loud she may not have heard me. πŸ€”

Well we left Savannah at 10:15 and arrived home at 3:15, a nice 5 hour drive. We had one stop for fuel and Subway lunch. The only abnormality we saw on the road was one of our fellow RVers had lost their sewer hose and there it lay on the road. Ha ha. Someone will have a story to go with that.

What was your NY resolution? (Mine was to eat less bacon πŸ₯“ and Mark’s was to drink more whiskey πŸ₯ƒ! πŸ˜‚ ... we’re more realistic than some folks.

Ha! Saw this on Facebook.

Now at home, the RV is unloaded and I have a load of laundry in. Tomorrow’s another day.

Tuesday January 1st 2019

Good afternoon! Yes we were up by 8:30 cooking the dogs breakfasts and doing morning chores. There was a morning party going on at 10:30 when we arrived at the VIP tent ... mimosas and bloody Mary’s but we were both into coffee and fresh fruit. At 11:30 we took a dish over for potluck lunch ... Karen and Pete cooked a beef brisket as the main dish. The assortment was good and we ate well and then hung out watching the football game.

Well we helped Karen and Pete and the crew tidy up a little bit over at the facilities and planned to go to Love’s  for clam chowder. However, after a phone call, the plans changed. Darn it. The restaurant is closed today.

K & P picked us up as planned and we went to a swanky 201 Seafood. It was very nice decor and good food. Everyone was worn out after eating so our evening ended with relaxing in front of the TV.
