Good afternoon. Yes yes it’s really me writing a blog. Unless I publish it before I’ve looked it over, it disappears!!! There have been a few technological grinches around lately. Ha ha.

So what’s been going on you ask. Our friend Bonnie came from Oklahoma for Robbie’s 14th birthday party in mid-December! We had a fun time and the little guy got a lot of wonderful treats and some new toys from his friends. Of course Belize and Wyatt got in on the action and ate cake as well.

Bonnie and me at Ski Beach for lunch.

Everyone wanted to help Robbie open the gifts. Fortunately, there were no dog fights that day. 😝

Quite a haul for one wee Scottie! We ❤️ our ol’ boy!

Christmas was fun. On Christmas Eve we met at the Olive Garden restaurant for dinner. Lots of laughs and a good meal.

As you can see, the restaurant expected some shenanigans and tucked us away in a quieter area with a huge table. ðŸĨ°

Christmas morning, we managed to open quite a few gifts considering it’s just the two of us and three wee Scotties!

Everyone had fun!

Christmas Day dinner was at Sue and Wayne‘s! This year was roast beef with all the trimmings. It was delicious and we had a wonderful evening.

The table was beautifully set.

The latter part of Christmas went by rather quickly as we had appointments for Belize at the University of Florida small animal Hospital in Gainesville. Our Miss B has been diagnosed with TCC, a form of bladder cancer.  We’ve been ongoing with test since November trying to discover what was the problem. Now that we know, she began a series of radiation on December 31 that will last through the end of January. Four days a week we drive two hours each direction for her appointment. It’s going to be grueling, but we hope with the right food we are feeding and these designated treatments, that we will have her for a long, long time yet.

And as if that isn’t enough, while Mark was at the Gainesville appointment with Belize, I was at our local vet office with Robbie. He has a wart that we were watching for quite some time that suddenly grew. We had it removed yesterday and sent off to cytology. So, now we wait for an answer on that. And that pretty much describes how the last month of 2024 went for us. Ca-ching!

Today, we are putting Christmas away and getting ready for a very busy month of back-and-forth. Wishing everyone a very happy and healthy and prosperous new year. .

Tuesday January 1st 2019

Good afternoon! Yes we were up by 8:30 cooking the dogs breakfasts and doing morning chores. There was a morning party going on at 10:30 when we arrived at the VIP tent ... mimosas and bloody Mary’s but we were both into coffee and fresh fruit. At 11:30 we took a dish over for potluck lunch ... Karen and Pete cooked a beef brisket as the main dish. The assortment was good and we ate well and then hung out watching the football game.

Well we helped Karen and Pete and the crew tidy up a little bit over at the facilities and planned to go to Love’s  for clam chowder. However, after a phone call, the plans changed. Darn it. The restaurant is closed today.

K & P picked us up as planned and we went to a swanky 201 Seafood. It was very nice decor and good food. Everyone was worn out after eating so our evening ended with relaxing in front of the TV.

Good morning from rainy central Florida where it’s 51°F. The cold front has really
arrived!

Last night, we were lucky to have such a beautiful evening of 66. It was perfect. Lew and Lynn had the pool deck decorated beautifully with a cozy fire both inside the porch and outside. We were all comfortable. (I brought a jacket but didn’t put it on!)  Randy and Dawn brought Jell-O shots, delicious, which also got us all warmed up. Ha ha

Randy and Ken danced together ... lots of laughs!

Dawn, Randy, Jim and Mark at the outdoor fire.

Our new neighbors, Mark and Lainey. Yay, more fun-loving Canadian-born partiers. 🎉 Welcome to the ‘hood!

Plenty of food ...

A game of Head’s Up ... Mark was really good at it!

The music ðŸŽķ was blasting and most everyone was dancing.

A potpourri of picturesque people. ðŸĪŠðŸŽ‰

We had a champagne toast at midnight and watched the ball drop in Times Square on the TV! Jim had some huge blockbuster ðŸ’Ĩ fireworks which scared us all ... Dawn shrieked, her wine went up in the air and landed on Randy’s pants. Ha!

We walked home at 1 o’clock ... ðŸ’Ĩ ... still fireworks in the neighborhood. Happy 2018 y’all.
