Good morning ☀️ and a very Happy Birthday to Wayne πŸŽ‚πŸŽΆπŸ₯‚πŸΎ. Mark and I sang to Wayne on the phone! (I see Rick M cringing!) 🎢

Heeheehee ... where’s the fire πŸ”₯ extinguisher?

First thing today I made tie backs for the cascading ruffle curtains in the dining room.

Cool eh? They’re 20” each. We’re both still puttering about the house with odds and ends from our projects.

Tonight we’re going to Oakwood Smokehouse for dinner with Lynn, Lew, Rose and Jim. Yum πŸ˜‹ ribs!

It’s 9 o’clock now ... we had a fun evening with friends and a delicious dinner! The food is always good at Oakwood’s! We had plenty of laughs. Afterward Mark and I went to visit aunt Jane at Avante in Mt. Dora. She was transferred their today. Her son Rick was there visiting too. Hopefully Jane will be home in two weeks.🀞

Sue and Wayne are out dancing tonight at the Yacht Club ... Randy, Dawn, Bob and Jill are at the Villages dancing tonight. What an active family! πŸ•Ί

That’s it for Mark and me ... we’re home watching the news.

Tuesday, March 6, 2018

Good afternoon. It’s a bright beautiful sunshiny day here but I haven’t stepped out doors yet. Ha ha Ha, I’ve been putting the second coat of paint on the dining room. (Mark rolled the second coat.) Now we’re just waiting for it to dry before we hang mirrors and pictures. We both like it. It’s awesome. πŸ˜…

Robbie and BeeZee are very tired of the home improvement activities around here! They’re ready for fun! So, I took them for a long golf cart ride and stopped to talk to a few neighbors along the way. We are expecting rain tonight, so Mark is now taking them for a long walk. He put on 3 1/2 miles just walking around the house today while we were painting. Could that be possible? I should have had my phone with me as I would’ve counted miles and stairs as well. No, there are no stairs in the house, but I was up-and-down the latter every few feet. Ha.

Our new living room Roman shades and bedroom plantation shutters have now been shipped. Yay!

Mark and Robbie after dinner bonding time? πŸΎπŸ’•

Nope!

Robbie is watching Animal Planet about Australian birds!

What a smart Scottie!

That’s it for tonight. Phew πŸ˜…

Monday, March 5, 2018

Good evening! It’s been a busy day around our house. We were up and out to run errands at 9 o’clock and not home until nearly 1. We did go to see aunt Jane at Waterman hospital. She was alert and looking good. She hopes to be home on Wednesday, or at least moved to a rehab facility. We were very concerned about her little dog, but the neighbors are pitching in walking and feeding him. The poor guy must be bewildered having just lost Cliff last November! 😒 Apparently Beau was sleeping on the bed with Jane. She got up for the bathroom during the night, he got excited, jumped off the bed and she fell on him. The little dog wasn’t injured, but Jane broke her hip. Her daughter Cathy had insisted that Jane buy an alert in case of a fall. Unfortunately, it was in a drawer and she took 20 minutes to crawl to get her phone and call for help. Jane said she caught hell from her daughter for that. Anyway, like we said, she looked very good and was alert, with no pain. Her son arrives tomorrow night to take care of the dog.

Mark and I had many errands to run, including buying paint at Home Depot. We had to pop into Dollar Tree for a couple of items and I found aquamarine colored wine glasses. I’ve been looking for these for more than a year. Imagine my delight when they had seven of them. Ca-Ching! πŸ˜› At Walmart I found some decorative dried flowers, just what I was looking for with the new decor. 😁 What a great day of odds and ends shopping it was.

At 2 o’clock I began painting, cutting in the dining room ceiling and along the wainscoting. By 4:30 I was ready for happy hour on the front porch. Mark will roll the walls after dinner! (2nd coat tomorrow!)

Wine for Marky and me, homemade frosty paws for Robbie and BeeZee. Yummy.

Tony and Aurelia sent pictures of their beautiful property covered with a fresh layer of (late in the season) snow.

Gorgeous to look at ... but I know they’re looking forward to scenes like ...

Winter in Florida! 😎

Sunday, March 4, 2018

Good morning. Mark and Lew have gone off tramping in the woods for a few hours on this beautiful morning. Me? I have a few things to accomplish as our new living room blinds and bedroom plantation shutters will be arriving soon. The bedroom curtains are coming down today and being washed and folded until I see what I want to do with them. What’s up at your house? Has the spring cleaning bug hit you yet?

Heeheehee ... this gal reminds me of a couple of cleaning women mom had! They were scary too!

Congratulations are in order to good looking Scottie Chief. (Mark and I babysat Chief and Hannah as wee puppies!) Well done Roger (and Bonnie.)

Aurelia called today and we firmed up plans for their visit later this month. She and Tony need a thawing out after a hellacious Canadian winter. Poor Chessie can’t get out to his yard for pottie as the snow drifts have hardened to ice. Tony hasn’t been able to use the snowblower since December because of it. Yikes! We hope they’ll have an easy drive south in their motor home.

Mark just learned aunt Jane fell and broke her hip. She’s had surgery and will be moved to a rehab facility on Wednesday. 😒 She just can’t catch a break this year! Apparently she fell out of bed during the night.

Well that’s our news for today ... hope all’s well at your home 🏑.

Haha! πŸ’° We took our cash and went garage sale shopping on The Caddy with Robbie and BeeZee.

BeeZee and Robbie fresh and fluffy from their baths. Isn’t the Azalea beautiful this year!

Cruising the ‘hood for bargains! We bought two gorgeous lampshades for the guest bedroom which meant I had to redo a couple of lamps! Perfect! Then I found some new placemats in the right color! Another WOWSA! It was so much fun!

We visited with John and Anita and met their new Shih Tzu puppy 🐢. Of course he’s adorable ... and so crazy. He’s keeping them on their toes! πŸ˜…

All good things have to come to an end and I had a stack of laundry waiting. We did chores, bathed the Scotties and puttered around making chicken, potatoes and veggies for THEIR dinner. We’re cutting back on the amount of Nutrish kibble.

Friday, March 2, 2018

Well, this is people watching at its finest. You never know what anyone is looking for, but we sold our old boat barbecue for $10 ... a Paris shower curtain for $8 ... $6 for a small mirror ... $5 for a wooden salad bowl (needed refinishing.) One ol’ geezer tried looking under our truck cover! πŸ™„

Guardians of the sale ... perfectly behaved, not a bark out of either one.

Mark busied himself in the backyard preparing for a bonfire tonight. Although it’s very warm today a cold front is moving in and will drop us to 50° overnight. Yahoo! We are going to Tony’s Pizza with Randy and Dawn for dinner first. We’re a bit worn out after our garage sale endeavor, but happy to be rid of superfluous stuff and a bit of change in our pockets. πŸ’°

Gorgeous moon last night ... WOWSA!

Wine around the campfire πŸ”₯ with RanDawn. ❤️ We sat outside til 11 o’clock and could feel the chill in the night air. Fun.

Thursday, March 1, 2018

Good morning. We were both up at 6 AM getting ready for the garage sale. By 9 o’clock we had already made $75 on odds and ends. Not too shabby. We’ve had a few interested parties looking at the boat trailer, so you never know.

GM of garage sale. πŸΎπŸ’•

Ha! Purchases have been brisk! πŸ™„ I bought 2 table lamps from neighbor Candi ... a crystal table lamp with sparkly black shade and an antique electric tabletop chandelier. Sweet finds. In order to make space for the new finds I traded two stained glass lamps! Whatta deal. (Mark had a big eye roll.) πŸ€ͺ

Tonight, I’m going to Lynn‘s for Yaya’s where we’re having a fondue party. Mark is going with the guys for a pub supper. PARTAY! 🍻

Robbie and busy will be home alone tonight, probably catching up on their sleep.

Well, we had a blast at the fondue party. When I got home at 9 o’clock Mark and Lew were watching Swamp People on TV and drinking wine. We’d both had a great evening.
