Good afternoon. The sun is shining, plants uncovered from shrouds and my lovely plants put back on the front porch. Thank heavens those five cold days are finished. The doggies and I sat on outside for a half hour and watched the birds return to the feeder.

Mark was up and out early this morning for the last day of deer hunting season. Yesterday, he saw five deer, not within range. Today, he saw nothing. The woods were completely quiet. This afternoon, his Buffalo Bill‘s team play so I know TV will be strictly football. It’s a good thing I am into a book at the moment.

Sue and Wayne took their doggies for breakfast this morning.

I guess it was chilly in Pompano Beach too! Julius and Shorty hot pants both have coats on. 🐾💕

Well I had better luck setting up the WIFI cameras today, no problem. It makes me think our WiFi was acting up yesterday. 

Lew and Lynn saw us sitting on the front porch enjoying happy hour and came over with their wine to join us. Robbie and Belize had their frosty paws for happy hour! It was a fun time.

Good morning from sunny Central Florida. It’s nearly 11 o’clock and Mark is just on his way home from hunting. He must have been chilled to the bone sitting in a tree stand all this time. Meanwhile, the doggies and I have been snuggled up on the sofa watching Cesar train people. Oh boy, it’s amazing how dogs can sense the owner’s unbalanced emotions. 

We had a quiet afternoon, the last cool one. Tomorrow I’ll move my plants back to the front porch! 😁 

The two doggie cams arrived today and I set them up but ran into a snafu with WiFi ... the cameras are 2.4 ghz whereas our WiFi is 5.0. Hmmm, will I have to upgrade?

Good morning sunshine! It’s still chilly outside but we’re at the tail end of this polar freeze! It dropped to 31F here overnight, fortunately not the hard freeze that was forecast. 

Today was all about cleaning house. Mark had his eye doctor appointment today and fortunately for him, he missed most of the fun. 🙄 He did take down the Christmas lights, wash down the front porch while all the plants are in the house, and move the Chattahoochee patio’s bar. Squirrels were tearing our tiki umbrella a part making a nest. So, we decided to move the bar and umbrella away from the trees so the wee varmints can’t get to it. Let’s see how that works. 

Tonight, we are meeting Randy and Dawn at Stavros for dinner and then playing dominoes later.

We had so much fun at Stavros kidding with our waiter Connor. He’s such a nice young man. 👍🏻 

Afterwards, we came home to play dominoes. Mark was the big winner, but nowhere near the record score of 70. 

It’s good to see that I was drinking my Sunkist diet orange rather than red wine at the end of the evening. Ha ha ha! We finished up the game about 1130 and they headed for home. Mark is hunting in the morning so he was off to bed early.

Well it did freeze overnight as there was ice on the birdbath! That’s the first freeze in at least four years. (Our region set a record for the most days under 52F this week!) 🧣 

It looks like tomorrow is going to be another cold day, Saturday and Sunday not much better BUT Monday we’ll have 75. Yay. I’ve not moved the golf cart in 3 days. 💨

Mark and I were up early for my eye doctor appointment. I decided to buy (real) reading glasses as I’ve been enjoying reading lately. Well, it turns out the dollar store glasses would be just fine. They did give me a prescription which I’ll ask Dawn’s opinion. (Sue has a bag of old glasses donated and said I could pick through them.)

🤓 This reminded me of dad needing dentures and hoping to pick through a “barrel of recycled ones.” 🤣

This evening, Sue and Wayne have gone to dinner at Carol and Jack’s. ✅ The Shizzles were included. Speaking of dogs, we couldn’t “find” Robbie after supper. He was in the bathroom with the door shut? Guess he snuck in while I was washing up and I didn’t see him. Haha ... boy, was he mad 😡 ... and took it out on BeeZee with a game of chase. Ha! It really would have been Bee’s fault as she pushes her way into the bathroom when I’m in there. 🙄 No privacy. Mark and I had a jolly laugh. 

We phoned Randy who had been moving gravel all day. He was happy with our suggestion of Stavros and a game of Mexican Dominoes tomorrow evening. 

I missed YaYa’s tonight ... something I hate to do, but just couldn’t get my get up and go going. Mark made mushroom /Swiss burgers for our dinner with avocado/tomato salad.  We’re sipping wine, watching Telly with a big roaring fire. 

It’s going to be another night of chill with a hard freeze of 27F forecast. ❄️ Chill out, peace out ✌️.

Brrr-morning...it’s raining, 40F and windy. Our weather radio sounded at 9 o’clock with a weather advisory for counties north of us. I-10 will have freezing rain later and a deep frost (27) tonight! I put the coats on Robbie and BeeZee and they willingly went for a walk; Mark was not as willing. 💨 💦 

Yesterday, we grocery shopped and the clerk at Winn-Dixie ran everything through the checkout without our “Plenty” card. With all the chatter, neither Mark or I noticed. When I was putting things into the budget last night, I noticed on the receipt in small print that had were used our card we would have save $32.43. So, Mark has ventured out into the Weather to visit the clerk at Winn-Dixie. Usually, Mark hands the clerk our car keys which have a tag on it for the savings card. However, since I was with him, Mark said he was all in a muddle and distracted. Ha ha ... and here I thought I was a big help! 🙄

This afternoon, we covered a few delicate plants with sheets, lit a fire and played several rounds of rummy. I made Mark work hard for it but he was the eventual winner. After a turkey soup dinner we walked the dogs. The wind had died off and it was rather nice. However, there is a freeze forecast for tomorrow morning.

Sue and Wayne are at the yacht club tonight dancing, but Sue left a stray cat emergency shelter outside their home. 

Mark says the raccoons will really appreciate it. Ha ha

Well, it’s chilly BUT we have a great roaring fire 🔥, a good TV show and wine 🍷. So, Ta Ta TIL tomorrow.

BeeZee and Robbie were happy I put their coats on for the big walk this morning. It was 40F and windy! 🌬 We’re in for a few cold days with 2 frosty mornings forecast. So, we’re bringing the orchids into the Sunroom and tomorrow afternoon we will cover the trumpet which is in full bloom right now! 

Haha ... Everyone wants to snuggle ... it’s 50 this afternoon. I’m rethinking my wish made last August for a “real Florida winter” ... ❄️

Sue and Wayne are having a cold wind and rain today, just what we had yesterday in Central Florida. They’re hunkering down and staying home tonight. 

Randy and Dawn put their Christmas decor away and tidied up. Dawn’s back to work tomorrow; they’re happy to be home tonight, too. (Yeah, it’s not that cold ... just a day or two without sunshine in Florida is unusual.) Waaa 

Mark chopped wood this afternoon and we had a great roaring fire tonight while watching Outlander and the Curse of Oak Island. Now, he’s off to bed (Robs too!) while BZ and I enjoy the coals. 🔥 

By the way, Florida is apparently sharing its bit of nasty weather with the New England coast line.

Good morning from rainy central Florida where it’s 51°F. The cold front has really 

arrived! 

Last night, we were lucky to have such a beautiful evening of 66. It was perfect. Lew and Lynn had the pool deck decorated beautifully with a cozy fire both inside the porch and outside. We were all comfortable. (I brought a jacket but didn’t put it on!)  Randy and Dawn brought Jell-O shots, delicious, which also got us all warmed up. Ha ha 

Randy and Ken danced together ... lots of laughs!

The music 🎶 was blasting and most everyone was dancing.

We had a champagne toast at midnight and watched the ball drop in Times Square on the TV! Jim had some huge blockbuster 💥 fireworks which scared us all ... Dawn shrieked, her wine went up in the air and landed on Randy’s pants. Ha! 

We walked home at 1 o’clock ... 💥 ... still fireworks in the neighborhood. Happy 2018 y’all.
