Whew, it’s a wet wool blanket outdoors this morning. Hurricane Nate has a date with Alabama tomorrow and that’s keeping us muggy. Yuck!

We were up early enough for a drive to the humane society shop to drop off donations after tidying our closet. They’ll.be happy with everything ... we don’t donate “junk” ... plus two big bifold shutter doors. I boxed up other items we’re done with that were accumulating in my craft cabinets. It feels good to clear it out.

Haha ... we bought a couple of treasures at the HS store. So it goes, round and round. One item is a gorgeous (heavy) glass bowl Mark eyed.

Lowes had our business today ... bifold doors, yes I just donated 2 - 36” doors ... but wanted something different. 🙄 We’ll have a look around for a birdfeeder the squirrels won’t lay in ... and a bonsai plant for Rod and Shay.

Happy Jack is working out the logistics of this feeder style. Don’t worry ... a big (open) feeder is filled for squirrels.

Mark hung one door today, another tomorrow, then I’ll be painting them. 👍🏻

We’re home for the night, put the Pizzazz on for a pizza and wine partay. Sue and Wayne, home from Stuart, are out dancing with Carol and Jack tonight.

We’re thinking about friends in the path of Hurricane Nate; not a particularly big storm but pushing a storm surge. The low lying gulf coast floods fast. 🙏🏻

That’s it ... TV time.

Haha! It’s a great day here in Central Florida. Mark went to the Ocala Forest for bow hunting but found it very humid after yesterday’s rain.

I pulled everything out of our walk-in closet and began to paint it. Whew. Fortunately Mark helped and we got it done and put back by 5:30. It’s brighter and cleaner!👍🏻

Sue and Wayne are in Stuart tonight at the motor home tidying up after the big trip last month. Wayne had quite an experience when he couldn’t gain entry into his own motor home in the middle of the night in Jacksonville. That’s all I’m going to say on the Blog but he’s going to be known as vagabond Wayne for awhile. Bwahahaha.

Great news from family downunder ... Miles has been accepted by ...

Wow! Congratulations are in order!

Fly high young man ... we’re always amazed by you!

That’s all folks ... 💤

It’s a good thing Mark didn’t go hunting as planned ‘cause it’s pouring. 🌧 Instead, he put the crockpot on the Chili 🌶 with the guys tonight. Randy, Jim & Ken are coming at 5ish. Dawn’s joining me for YaYa’s at Carol’s in the Scottish Highlands neighborhood.

Meanwhile, we tidied up our painting muddle and Mark put the kitchen molding piece up ... another detail we’ve talked about for ages. 😍

Getting it done. ❤️

Dawn and I picked up Anita and headed to Carol’s for 5 o’clock. She had a nice spread of appies followed by pizzas. We had a big group tonight for celebrating Rose’s BIG-0 birthday. Deena made a pineapple upside down cake.

Fun evening on Carol’s porch!

Back home, Mark and Randy were stretched out in the recliners watching golf. Ken had already left ... Jim canceled because of a back ache. Randy was happy to take home Chili for tomorrow’s lunch.

Robbie and BeeZee had fun getting extra attention from Randy.

Ta Ta TIL morning.

Good afternoon. It’s been an on-again off-again rainy day; perfect for finishing up our hall closet project.

Mr. HandyDoody is awesome!

The painting is 95% finished ... and we are 100% finished for today. 😜

Randy and Dawn are coming for happy hour at 4 o’clock and then we are going to the Crazy Gator for dinner.

Well, it was a fun happy hour at our Sunroom bar with cheese ‘crackers and popcorn   We had so many laughs, old stories, and fun.

At the Crazy Gator we chose an area in our waiter Ryan’s section. We had a good dinner and fun time. On the way home we practiced screaming ... just in case! Bwahahaha  ... DAWN = FAIL ... RANDY = SO-SO ... MARK = GROWL ... JULIE = FULL OUT YELL, F’KIN TERRIFYING!  Just to practice, we pulled up to a car at Stavros ... Julie yelled and scared the S*IT out of the driver next to us at the light. Of course we all laughed!!!

RanDawn’s rebel yell. Hahaha.

After pouring more wino at home, Randy phoned Bob and Jill to say hi. Randy called it a “drunk call!”  Yes, it was, and lots of laughs. It was a 4-way, everyone talking at once yakfest. 🤣

Tonight, Sue and Wayne went to the yacht club dancing. They just texted that they are home!

So, that’s it for tonight. We wonder what our buddy Scott is doing? Check in Mac.

Oh it's a beautiful fall morning! Hallelujah.

That’s the Scottish Highlands ... because Florida is always green! Now I do prefer green as I'm familiar with what comes after the beautiful fall colors, bare naked trees and icy snow. Ha ha.

We were both awake early as Mz BeeZee decided it was time for potty at 4:45. Mark was going hunting this morning anyway, and has a fine day for it! Me? I have more painting and touching up around the house today. Then, we will get into hanging the new doors! YeeHaw!

It’s official ... we’re booking an RV site to visit ShayRod in Lake Placid right after our River Ranch trip. 😜 It’ll be a  B L A S T 🚀

Mark updated his iPhone yesterday and encountered “issues.” Nothing drastic mind you but nobody likes surprises ... and that’s what you get. So today when my iPhone updated I thought no problemo ... HA! My BUDGET app won’t open! I have to buy a new one, no big deal, BUT I have to start all over again and records from the past are GONE! WTH?

The new closet doors are going in now! I’m thrilled ... Love my home improvements! Thankful Mark is Mr. HandyDoody! 😍

Did I mention RanDawn have been reading the Outlander series and loaned me the first of six books. I’ve read half now and am hooked. Tonight Mark found the first hour of it on Starz. Of course it was a tease to get us interested. Haha ... maybe next month we’ll buy into the $12.99 a month.

It was gorgeous out today, but windy. We had happy hour on the front porch followed by a pork loin cooked on the BBQ. Mark made a veggie rice stir fry too. Delicious!

Sue and Wayne got their refrigerator repaired today and finally enjoyed cooking at home. (No fridge, no fresh food!) But tonight it was salmon plank on the BBQ. South Florida had heavy rain with stormy weather.

Tomorrow we’re seeing Randy & Dawn for date night ... place to be decided. 🍻

That’s it. Ta Ta.

Monday, October 2, 2017

It's difficult to say good morning after turning the TV on and seeing 58 people killed while attending a country music concert in Las Vegas. With 508 injured, there may be more deaths. Our hearts are with families dealing with a senseless tragedy.

NO painting today! For me, paperwork while Mark did a Walmart trip. Aren't we exciting?

Our Dodge was ready so we picked up Old Silver and went straight to Home Depot for our next project ...

sliding mirror doors for the "gallery" hallway! It's an odd sized opening so sliding doors will work better there than the bifolds. (By the way, Gerber did a great job on Old Silver!)

Sue and Wayne are dealing with their hurricane damages. The fence and hedge were badly damaged on the "pit bulls" side. They've had a bad encounter already with one of the dogs a year or so ago.

They're going to need some privacy fencing while the new hedge fills in. I guess "Irma" was good for the economy! Cha-Ching!

If you're a Tom Petty fan you'll be feeling low today with news of his death following cardiac arrest yesterday. Sad; gone too early at 66. (Mark noted that Keith Richards carries on.) 🙄 Funny eh?

Sunday, October 1, 2017

Good afternoon y'all and a very

We're back to painting ... me, our bathroom with a fresh coat of "Swiss Cream" ... while Mark paints baseboards! Neither one is much fun.

While our pals up north are prepping for colder weather, we're thinking about fall plants 🌱.

RanDawn (and us) are in Central Florida, the K's are South Florida. Randy (and Mark) will be planting edibles while Sue sticks with flowers. 🐝

Pumpkin Spice ... not a big favorite of mine; Mark likes it.

At 4:30 Mark proclaimed it happy hour with Crown and Black & White scotch on the bar. Well okay ... cheers. We did accomplish quite a bit today!

Sue apparently found two dogs running loose on a busy road and got them returned safely to the thankful owner. Someone left her gate open ... they'd only been outside a few minutes; but that's how it happens. Good job Sue!

Mark talked to Randy. He and Dawn were laying low today having had a late one Saturday night in Mt Dora. We'll get together this week, Dawn and I, for YaYa's.

That's it. Bedtime. 💤
