Good afternoon πŸ˜ƒ! It a grand day in Central Florida; the sun's shining and it's 79F.

Sue and Wayne had their doggies out to breakfast this morning. Randy and Dawn are in silent mode so far today (she's working.) We're wondering how the golfing was yesterday?

Pat texted me she's dropping over at 3ish with my cake plate and some party leftovers. πŸ‘πŸ» I'm pretty sure a glass of wine 🍷 will be involved and perhaps a golf cart ride for laughs! She's lots of fun. (So I've been a whirlwind of dusting and tidying up around here!) I need Carlos! Things are getting out of hand! Who's Carlos you ask? He was our monthly maid service in Boca & Pompano. I need carpets cleaned and grout scrubbed. Yuck. Help Carlos!

Mark is helping Jim (Rose) with tree trimming that needs doing before their backyard changes. I don't know what's planned but a new pontoon boat is in their future. (I'm glad Mark's back is better!)

Another friend, Roger (Elaine) dropped off a coffee table book ... DRIVES OF A LIFETIME.  It's going to give us ideas for our upcoming RV trip. πŸ‘πŸ»

Well ... Jim wasn't up to lumberjack business so Mark used his energy on K's lot clean up for 2 1/2 hours. Actually, we can see the canal!

More to be done but that's 3 piles of brush on the curb for this week. πŸ‘πŸ» Sweet.

How is it Sunday night already? I took the kids for their nightly fun on The Caddy (πŸ˜‚) then enjoyed a good dinner with Marky. So that was our day.

DERBY DAY MAY 6, 2017

Oh it's a lovely 60F start to our day. It'll be a perfect party day at Pat's. (I've lost my lovely fascinator! Last October I bought it for a 1940's party night at our RV rally in Sarasota. When it came night of the party I couldn't find the darn thing but was sure I'd packed it. Well, fast forward November to May and the elusive fascinator was not to be found at home!) What's a girl to do?

So I made one! Ha!

Rose, Pat 'n me at the derby party! Did someone say "Mint Julips?"

Jim, Schnauzer Baxter and Mark.

Linda, Alice, Deena & Carol

Mary and Ann ...

Elaine and Roger ... Mark and Baxter in background.

Carin and Eddie.

We had a fun time with plenty to eat and drink! Pat was the big winner in the derby pool.

It was fun arriving in The Caddy. 🀣

That's it. What fun. Our doggies are happy to have us home! πŸΎπŸ’• PSSSSST ... oh I'm laughing so hard. I just put my new fascinator into a baggie and went to the bedroom to put it away where I keep extra purses. Guess what I found there? Yes, in a baggie identical to what I was just storing my new fascinator in was the missing black fascinator! OMG. πŸ™„

Friday May 5, 2017

WHAT THE HELL? I swear this is a true story. You know, if you read my Blab, er Blog, I'm OVERPREPARED for Christmas! Right? The new tablecloths are on hand, new napkins, new coordinating Aqua wine glasses, dinnerware, table centerpiece, etcetera. Really, I couldn't think of another thing that could possibly worry me about ONE day 7 months in the future.  πŸ˜± Well, I was wrong-o!

Last night I woke in a cold sweat ... I'd been at Publix shopping for Christmas DINNER supplies. First, a fellow shopper bullied me; then I'd forgotten my shopping list! Well I recalled "cream corn" that Sue likes (but NO ROLLS as Sue says they fill us up); Brussels sprouts (which I never serve at Xmas) and the list got more and more bizarre as I approached consciousness. Haha! OMG ... this is the EARLIEST EVER for my Christmas nightmare. 😳

So, what's up in your world? Happy Cinco De Mayo!
Mark had a good experience at the chiropractor's. It's not easy to break in a new doctor. Haha. Of course they'd like him to go 3 x a week for 6 weeks. It's not likely he will.

Me? Well I baked a triple chocolate cake for tomorrow's derby party at Pat and Ken's. Now I must find my derby hat! It's Pat's party as Ken has a golf tournament at The Villages tomorrow.

Mark's tiny garden plot is producing cherry tomatoes by the quart. They're delicious!

WOWSA!

Tonight's fun was a fab chicken Parmesan dinner that Mark made for us. After cleanup we took the doggies for their evening ride on The Caddy. 😎 We all enjoy it.

Now it's time for the new Ancient Aliens πŸ‘½ so ta ta til tomorrow.

Thursday, May 4, 2017

Hey! It's already 2 o'clock. We've had a busy one so far!

First thing this morning I had an email from eBay offering 200 free listings. Of course the catch is you must put them online within a short time limit. Well I had no plans until 5 o'clock anyway, so I began the task. Maybe we'll sell a few bits.

Mark had his first chiropractor appointment today. Basically, they did nothing for him until they get his X-ray info. At least they're being cautious. Tomorrow they'll see him again. We hope he will get relief from his lower back ache. Poor Marky. 😲 Owwwwie

Tonight is YaYa's at Anita's house. Lynn and I are going on the golf cart ... if the lights work! Mark's going to Crazy Gators with Lew, Jim, Ken and his cousin. (Randy and Dawn have plans tonight so they're not joining in the fun.)

Well ... it was a  B L A S T.

Pillow fights ... just like "the boys" imagine!

And crazy sexy games ...

Ooooo la la ... playing Heads Up. 🀣

And encouraging each other.

Yep, it was a fun night.

We were both home by 830 and took the doggies for a ride on the Caddy. We had had some heavy rain which cooled down the evening. It was perfect. πŸ’•

Good day! What's up at your house?

Mark was doling out "special" treats after cleaning Robbie's ears ... and BeeZee joined in for the latter part. Cuties!

Mark's back continues to improve. He has an appointment tomorrow with a chiropractor who accepts our insurance benefits. Yay. (I went to Buchanan Chiropractic several years ago and found  they were a good practice.) I hope he likes the office.

So today a really "cool" package arrived with T-shirts for Mark and me from Arctic Cool.

I read everything I could about them as they are not cheap. But, they seem great! When I bought the two shirts I got the instant cooling towel as a free gift. I dampened the towel and wrapped it around my arm ... A few minutes later I had to take it off, as it was really very cool. Now the shirts only start cooling when you sweat, or if you want instant cooling, spritz it with water. I thought they would be fabulous for us boating here in the summertime when it's in the 90s. I'll let you know what we think of them as Sunday is a boating day.

Tonight we're meeting RanDawn at Tiki West for date night of shrimp 🍀 (a pound of peel 'n eats for $9.99!) I'll have mine blackened ... πŸ˜…

Wow! Tiki's was BUSY. We've never seen the area that crazy on a Wednesday! Word must be out that it's a bargain! It's a good thing we had plenty to eat as it was too noisy for much conversation. (Eventually the LOUD talkers finished up and peace resumed.)

Back home, it's dog pedicure night. 🐾

Tuesday, May 2, 2017

Wow, we finally had some heavy rain overnight. It has been terribly dry in Central Florida with wild fires here and there. It was so nice to hear the rain!

So, what's up today? I think Mark needs to take it easy and rest his back. (I'd love to go bowling, but I think that's a bad idea for him.) Randy and Dawn are busy as youngest granddaughter Charlotte has ear surgery scheduled. (Randy didn't go golfing as he had a doctor appointment too.)

Mark heated up his back before going on his errand rounds. Me? I've been making and listing new items on eBay. After summer, I'll get a proper storefront going again where I can put a few hundred items online. But, for now, I'm just listing about 50 items.

We're still learning about "The Caddy." After charging it fully (we think) with the new trickle charger, Mark installed the volt reader. But, we forgot to read what it charged up to ... πŸ™„ ... then I ran it for 3 days on my usual doggie rides. Tonight Mark watched the meter ebb and flow while I drove about. Fearing we might run out of power I headed for home at 35.3 volts. Well, when I parked and turned the key off, the meter read 37.1. So, off we went on another excursion. πŸ˜…. At the end of that ride, parking and shutting it off we had 37.2 volts. WTF? So, we plugged in the charger, covered the electric beast and poured ourselves a wine. (Maybe tomorrow we'll remember to look at the fully charged number on the volt meter!) 🀣

Do you watch Deadliest Catch on NatGeo? We've been fans since day 1. Interesting to learn how the Alaskan King crab πŸ¦€ are reacting to climate change. You wouldn't think there'd be any appreciable temperature change at the depths they drop the crab pots ... but there is. Amazing.

By the way, Rod and Shay called just before dinner. They are still looking around for property to buy and have decided they want to be within one hour of their grandson. They have an Alaskan cruise booked leaving June 8, so we will resume house hunting looking after that.

Here's their joy ... grandson Aaron, dressed to impress for his school picture at age 7.

I think Aaron will be a heartthrob ... ❤️ ... he takes lessons in tennis, golf and soccer.

Mark's antsy to watch the show, so that's it for today's blog.

Monday, May 1, 2017

I wish to dance around the maypole and weave in and out. Ha ha. Can you picture that? OMG.

I love vintage postcards and found this online.

Yesterday, I missed posting a picture of Wayne, Julius and Shorty Hotpants shopping at Festival in Pompano.

Shorty is certainly interested in something! πŸ’•πŸΎ Perhaps he spots some bargains? I bet they're shopping for more cottage things! 😜

Today, being Monday, it was bill paying day. Since I set up the new Chase account, I was unable to access and transfer money. Well what bloody good was that? Apparently, you must have a computer to set it up the first time and then you can use the mobile app. Well, since I don't have a computer I had to drive to the blankety-blank bank to set it up. Grrr. Anyway, that's done ... it should be easier from now on.

Mark's back is slowly getting better and he continues to work around the house. He's been up on a ladder the last two or three days cleaning the boathouse roof and gutters. It sounds like a small job but look at the leaves that accumulated in just one year.

Yikes!

I hired a tree trimmer to spruce up (haha) the Queen Palms for $100 and Marky was a bit annoyed. I was just sparing his (sore) back for indoor jobs. 😲

So that's it for tonight. I almost forgot to post this and then thought Mr. Moir would be on my case. Hee hee.
