At 11:25 we were through Jacksonville with 110 miles to go.
Congratulations and best wishes to Connie & Jack on their engagement.
We arrived and got into our site about 130. This is a nice clean RV resort! We are in Site 37.
Pete picked us up at 4:30 for happy hour and appetizers at Love’s on the Ocheegee River. The clam chowder was the best I’ve ever had. Mark enjoyed a seafood stew, also delicious. It was a fellow camper’s birthday and she wanted Oysters Rockefeller. Instead of staying there for dinner, the group of nine decided to go to Sorry Charlie’s in downtown Savannah for dinner. Since we were riding with Karen & Pete, away we went. It was about a 25 mile drive between the restaurants.
We had to wait a half hour for a table and decided on taking two smaller tables side-by-side. So that worked out fine. I had a flat bread with shrimp, peppers and cheese and it was awesome. It had a touch of Balsamic vinegar drizzled on top. Wow. Mark ordered a dish called Debris with fries ... again, very good.
On the way home, we nearly got broadsided at an intersection that Pete thought was a four-way stop. The next adventure was on the highway home when a car swerved to avoid a pedestrian, and nearly caused a wreck. There was a woman walking down the highway in a pink shirt in the rain! Obviously we were happy to get back to the campground with no further incidents.
