Wednesday, October 6, 2021

Good morning. Mark was up and out with Bob to go archery hunting quite early. The Scotties and I slept in until 8 o’clock. It looks like a pretty day coming up, and Wayne and LaDonna are popping in after they help out at her fathers this morning. Wayno is working on hooking up our Wi-Fi extender to our modem. After many hours spent on the phone, it seems to be that our modem is locked. That means another ding dang dong call to Century link. It’s difficult to get a live person there, and then it’s difficult to find one who helps … and doesn’t “accidentally“ hang up on you.  πŸ€¨ We shall see, we think we have got this narrowed down to the modem problem.

So … after 3 hours of Wayno working with Century Link and getting the run around, our entire Internet went down! Good thing we have antenna TV … and we dumped CenturyLink. πŸ—‘ It’s out with the trash.

Our friend is in pain; Lani’s mom passed away this morning after a lengthy downhill slide. We feel her acute pain; it reminds us of our deep losses. Hug those you love a bit tighter tonight. πŸ₯²

Tuesday, October 5, 2021

Good afternoon. Well, the day started out just fine until I tried to print a mailing label for eBay. My trusty printer it’s not working today. I ran out of ink and put a new cartridges, and now it is skipping lines and has poor print quality. I did some troubleshooting online and clean the cartridge heads and the printer head. What the heck? What can go wrong overnight with technical things? It’s not even Halloween yet. 😜

Anyway, I did a few eBay listings today, just a few more things around the house that we’re not using. Also, another donation box is set up for the Humane Society store. Someday, we will be ready rid of all the surplus goods we have accumulated. Ha! Never! I swear it’s impossible when you try to downsize. And, this house really isn’t any smaller, just a different layout.

Tonight we are celebrating LaDonna and Wayne‘s anniversary. I will include a picture later.

It’s now 1030, and we had a nice dinner at Tillie’s. We had initially thought we would eat at CJ‘s, but it was closed tonight. I guess things have been slow so they decided to close a couple of nights a week. Anyway, we walked across the street to Tillie’s where we had a very good dinner. (I forgot to get my phone out and take a picture.)

Afterwords, we came back and sat on the front porch while the guys had cigars. It rained, and cooled it down so nicely. It was a perfect evening.

Monday, October 4, 2021

Good morning y’all … our skies are clear with low(er) humidity so the stars are brilliant overhead. I was out with the kids at 6 o’clock looking up. Orion is overhead … the dagger stars are visible. (My mighty hunter is asleep as I wish I was.) In the midst of an interesting dream I experienced a ferocious calf cramp. It was bad … still felt that fluttering sensation after a muscle relaxer and BioFreeze. Yes doctor, I am well hydrated and taking vitamin E daily. Ouch!

I worked on my paintings … Mark had an eye doc appointment which took forever. He needs an eyelid surgery … maybe November.

Sue and Wayne at their friends at Gillespie‘s for dinner tonight. Well, they hadn’t seen Amy and Raymond for at least three days. Ha ha Ha. Apparently they had a really nice evening and enjoyed getting out.

We were sitting on our front porch enjoying the cool evening air. Lani and Markymark joined us for an hour, and it was great fun.

Now, it’s dancing with the stars on Telly.

Sunday October 3, 2021

Good morning…hope you can take it easy today?

We have no plans … maybe take Mrs R B out for a ride?

We have a plan … we’re picking up Nancy at 3 for a Dora Canal cruise to Tavares. The kids will come too.

We cruised Lake Eustis and avoided rain showers! Mark did very well reading the weather. (We weren’t supposed to get any rain until Wednesday!)

RanDawn are having the family over for Brandon’s birthday dinner tonight. They were going to pick up the cake when we called after lunch. Charlotte and Makenna had spent the night and were chatting in the background. πŸ₯° Happy Birthday Brandon!

Tonight, football.

Saturday, October 2, 2021

Good evening. It’s just after 6 o’clock and I’m getting a start on the blog. Mark and Bob went archery hunting this morning, but once again, the hound dogs foiled them. There hasn’t been any evidence of deer around during the day, so I think Mark will wait until we get back from our little RV excursion.

Sue and Wayne arrived home today, and all hell broke loose when Wayne couldn’t find his tea stirring spoon. πŸ™„ I was the last one in the house last July, so I am to blame. Sue said it was a spoon that didn’t match anything in the house. πŸ˜‚ I plead the fifth and said the dish ran away with the spoon. πŸ₯„  Of course they’re in a muddle when they first get home, that’s normal. It will take a few days to get settled in. Mimi was looking for her toy box which I had put away because our dogs were there in July with us. I was able to tell Sue where to find it and a crisis was averted. πŸΎπŸ’•

Pam phoned today and we caught up on what she has been doing. Apparently, she is thinking to volunteer with the Red Cross and is studying a course online. As Mark says, Saint Pam! We had a good chitchat and I said I thought Pam would be able to handle it, as she is much like Mark, and can sleep anywhere, even on a flat board. I, on the other hand, would be expecting the Red Cross to have a lovely Tempur-pedic mattress for me. LOL. Pam had been to Nashville and spend some time with Christine and Chase and Daisy, their dog-human. Christine loves to paint, and uses acrylics and watercolors. Pam hooked us up and we chatted and shared pictures today. It was awesome.

I worked on my paintings today, didn’t get too far, but at least got back into it. Yeah yeah, I did a lot of painting the past two weeks, but it was on the walls.

Mark was disappointed when he couldn’t buy any more of the Behr granite grip gray paint for our driveway! It’s the oddest thing not being able to get supplies. He asked the attendant at the paint counter if he could order some. Well apparently the store gets it first and whatever is left over goes to the customer. Hmmm, is that a twist on the old supply and demand rule?

Pam shared some pictures of great niece Scout’s first birthday party. Paula was there, and is looking good.

Scout apparently looks just like her late grandmother, Marcy. Happy Birthday wee girl.

So the weather is beautiful and it’ll be a front porch sitting type of night.

Friday, October 1, 2021

Good afternoon. I love October! It is my favorite month in Florida. This morning was spent tidying up loose ends and making phone calls trying to connect the Wi-Fi extender I bought. Yes, it got online right away but it’s impossible to use because the password doesn’t work. What the heck? After an hour on the phone, I was disconnected. I know, it wasn’t an accident, the guy was supposed to be transferring me to another department. Funny how that always happens, isn’t it?

Then, I had to file a claim with healthy paws for Robbie‘s recent bills. The mobile app wasn’t working on those so I had to get a hold of someone and file it via email. That done, I had to find our vaccination cards as we are going in for our booster shots of Pfizer vaccine today.

I may not be entirely finished painting. Ha ha. I blended together what was left of the bedroom paint and the living room paint and I have more than half a gallon, perhaps enough to paint one wall in the sunroom. We shall see how motivated I get. Today was catching up on the laundry and putting away (almost) all the painting equipment. Mark has started on his driveway improvement project. I won’t post a picture yet, as only the first coat is on in one small area. It’s pretty pricey, so he thought he would try it one area and see what it looks like before moving on to another section. The idea is to do it in a gray, that matches our African gray slate tiles.  The color is looking good, but the coverage is spotty. Where there is smooth concrete it doesn’t grab nearly as much as where there is pitted concrete.

It’s late afternoon now … we’ve had our Pfizer booster shots at Publix. It was quick! We needed a few groceries anyway. Mark knows the prices from shopping at Winn-Dixie and find that everything in Publix is a dollar more. Well, we don’t generally come here but it was convenient today.

Sue and Wayne have arrived in Stuart today, and will be home tomorrow. They made it in pretty good time just having left the cottage last Sunday. It won’t be long before we will be seeing them for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Thursday, September 30, 2021

Good afternoon. It’s going on 4 o’clock and it’s been a long day. I got up at 5 o’clock this morning and prepared the rest of the living room for painting. By the time Mark got up at 8:30 I had already cut in the first coat and run out of paint. After breakfast, Mark went to the Depot for another gallon. I rolled and cut in then rolled some more and by 330 it was finished and all put back together. I love it!!!  The interior painting is done and I’m done LOL

Mark started a big project today. He is pressure washing and bleaching our nasty driveway and then putting a finish on it. It will tie in better with the African gray tile on our front porch. I’m interested to see how it will look.

Our friend Lani is in Orlando with her mom who is doing poorly. She’s taking a few days from work, fearing the worst. Markymark had an inspection this morning on the house he bought in Eustis.

Our friends Pat & Ken had major surgery done on their dog Sadie a couple of weeks ago. She just got her stitches out and overnight the wound opened. So, it was off to the vet for them today. There’s always something, isn’t there?

Today is LaDonna & Wayne’s anniversary and they’re enjoying Clearwater beach. It looks like a posh place …

Happy 21st Anniversary πŸ₯‚πŸΎ you love birds. ❤️

That’s it for today.
