Thursday July 15, 2021

Good morning! It’s elevator service day here at the K’s where Maverick is due at 9 a.m. We’re here!

I made a few suggestions for the L’s for sightseeing, but I’m betting it will be fishing at Pompano pier. πŸ˜‰

Morning scritches

Beez with uncle Wayno

Maverick Elevator arrived 10 minutes early … was very professional and thorough! ✅ The elevator is in good condition and now fully serviced. ✅

LaDonna and Wayne went for groceries and picked up a big tote bin for sending some of Sue’s eBay items home for me to list. They’ll put the big bin in the back of their truck, nice and secure. Our Kia was quite loaded with just us and the two dogs. Ha ha. They take the whole backseat of course.

Thursday night we had pub grub at Kelly’s and saw the K’s friend Roy M …

he’s on the left … 3 Dog Night tribute. It was fun … the karaoke sound machine broke down before the man sitting next to me got a chance to sing Sinatra. We headed home, walked the kids then sat on the back porch til 11ish. We’re all sleeping well here; worn out after being in the pool.

Wednesday, July 14, 2021

Good morning. I was up at 7 AM and then the pool for an hour. The dogs were outside wondering on the patio for a few minutes but wanted to go back inside and wait for Mark to get up. Wayne and LaDonna slept until 830, apparently unusual for him who is usually up at the crack of dawn. LOL i’m guessing they are busy enough here and are getting lots of fresh ocean air. (They packed up to go fishing at the pier last night, but it didn’t happen because they were thunderstorms in the area. Maybe later today would be better for them.)

Tomorrow we have to be around for the elevator man and to start rounding up for things for eBay … and soon heading home. But, this afternoon, we are going to 15th St. Fisheries for lunch. As we say “back in the day” … dad‘s paddle wheel princess pulled into 15th St. Fisheries to let the passengers have lunch. The fisheries was a new business then and welcomed the paddlewheeler at its dock. I often helped out as mate when someone didn’t show up for their job. πŸ˜… these are great memories.

Where the green lights are huge tarpon hang out! It’s a fun place!

The kids had baths this morning on the cool deck … then sat on chairs to dry off. I know they feel great afterwards by the zoomies! 🐾😍

Back home the guys smoked cigars … we poured happy hour drinks and went in the pool til 7ish.

Wayno & Mark put pizza and leftover calamari on the Pizzazz for our snacky dinner. It was all we could manage. Wayno went to bed right away! We 3 played Mexican dominoes … Mark was the winner … and watched a movie. That was our fun day. Ta ta til tomorrow.

Tuesday, July 13, 2021

What a great way to start the day … coffee and a swim! Mark cooked us all sausage patties and eggs in his new frypan! (He found out that he needs a bit of oil to cook eggs.)  We decided to have lunch at the old Briny pub … and it was really good! There’s parking around back free for patrons which you need to validate with the waitress.

We’re all keeping to low carb dishes which has been rather easy. Mark and LaDonna had mahi tacos and salads … Wayno and I had bacon provolone burgers, no bun, and salad. 🍻 It’s such an eclectic decor, lots to see. The Briny has been open since 1947! After eating we drove along the beachfront … then found our way to Scott’s place! He was in a muddle getting ready to head north. Safe drive Mack!

Back home, I napped and missed all the excitement. Wayno loves to fish off the dock …

and caught a barracuda! LaDonna ran for the net …

which the ‘cuda ripped a hole in. πŸ˜… My, what snaggly teeth you have. The big guy was released safely. Pretty exciting!

This evening, Wayne and LaDonna went to the Pompano pier to fish and have dinner. Meanwhile, we drove up to Delray to meet Matt, Tiffany, Leah and Joe at Applebee’s for dinner.

It was really nice catching up with Leah as we haven’t seen her for eight or nine years. We met her husband Joe and had a nice time. Tiffany made something special for LaDonna to give to Henley. She’s going to love it.

Monday July 12, 2021

Good morning y’all. Wow, that was some awful case of indigestion and bloat we all had last night! Low carb eating resumes today with zero chance of being led astray.

The guys are going on the Haulin Ass, fishing. πŸ˜‚  It’s now afternoon and they’re back. The guy said they had 10 foot waves, and one young boy on the boat with seasick. Mark caught a yellow fin which he gave to another person, rather than have to cook it tonight. Ha ha. Wayne, the fisherman, wasn’t as lucky. Too bad, they have ideas for what they would bring next year if they went drift fishing.

Nice picture!

After lunch, we took Sue’s car for a ride to HomeGoods and picked up a few items that we needed. Wayne and LaDonna wandered off to TJ Maxx, so we are waiting for them before going over to Publix, to pick up dinner.

LaDonna grilled pesto chicken and made a big salad for dinner! It was just what we needed tonight … a light meal.

Afterwards we played half a game of Mexican dominoes ..

(I didn’t win a round!) πŸ™„

While everyone chilled on the back porch I snuck in the pool for some exercise. It was a fine evening.

Now we’re watching Denzel save the day in a runaway train movie.

Sunday, July 11, 2021

Good morning. It seems I am the first up on this beautiful sunny morning in South Florida. Our plans today are to relax, swim, putter about and then see Carol and Jack for dinner.

I started my day with a swim in the pool, getting my exercise, and studying cloud formations over the ocean. Mark brought me coffee and shortly after LaDonna joined with her coffee. It was lovely sitting outside with the light breeze. Next thing we knew, breakfast al fresco! Awww πŸ₯° Thanks guys! Now it’s time to tidy the house and get moving on our Sunday plans.

LaDonna and I elected to stay home while da boys went to Bass Pro shops. They’ll have a blast there without us. πŸ˜‰ Meanwhile, all’s quiet at home. Blissful. πŸ˜‚

After our hour’s housekeeping, LaDonna and Wayno went in the pool. They love the sun and water.

Mark’s ark makes a nice bar table, eh? πŸ’¦ 😎

Robbie and Mark watched some golf on TV. It’s 89F on the back porch. I sorted photos into albums on my iPhone … something I’ve wanted to do for ages. πŸ™„

Up north, Sue and Wayne moved their furniture into the (nearly) finished front porch. It looks very nice and makes this a large entertaining space.

✅ Nicely done! It’s more useful this way!

Meanwhile, back home in Central Florida, those walking this morning IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD had a surprise …

No those aren’t our Scotties πŸ˜‚ … it’s mama bear with two cubs. Yikes!

Markymark watered my plants today … all’s well on the homefront. EBay sales are waiting for me … but that’s okay, we’re having a fine time here!

Dinner at Bella Roma was great. I didn’t want pasta, so they put my vodka sauce that I love, on my chicken Parmesan. It was delicious and I even brought a little bit home. Afterwards, Jack and Carol invited us back for drinks which apparently included two types of dessert. None of us want to dessert as we are all doing low-carb, but were compelled to have a piece of flan and some cherry cobbler. Now, we are all home and sitting outside by the pool, feeling bloated. Yuck. When will we learn?

Tomorrow morning the guys are going on the Helen S fishing for four hours. I hope they have good weather and catch some fish. LaDonna thought I was saying hauling ass when I would say the name of the boat, and really thought they were going out for a fun time. LOL. That’s it for tonight.

Saturday July 10, 2021

Good afternoon y’all … it’s a sticky day here in south Florida. LaDonna and I are painting! It’s a perfectly quiet one after having been busy yesterday with Skeeter and family.

It’s LaDonna’s birthday πŸ₯³ πŸ₯‚πŸΎπŸŽ‚πŸ₯° and we’re going out to dinner later. Wayno has been puttering about the house and dock. Both guys went to Publix … a daily event for them. It’s a gorgeous store … and they appreciate the inside parking.

At 4:30 we left for Aruba’s …

good  timing as we got a front seat view of the ocean (see it reflected in the mirror across from our table!) Our waitress was excellent … dinner all good! LaDonna had a good birthday we think! (She had plenty of phone calls and messages while we were painting.)

We walked the pier at Commercial … a bit unkempt, but a nice walk out anyway. There were some fishing but no one catching.

The sea is a nicer color today! Fun times! πŸ’•

Meanwhile at K’s cottage a new floor was installed in the front porch.

It looks really nice! The room functions better for them with windows/screens. It’s a good upgrade!

Tonight they gathered with a few friends for cocktails, outside.

It’s great to see everyone together again.

A beautiful sunny day!

After getting home from the restaurant, Mark and I went in the pool for a while well Wayne fished in the back and LaDonna relaxed. Robbie and BeeZee had a good romp around the backyard. Now, it’s 10 o’clock and we’re all winding down after a fun day.

Friday, July 9, 2021

Good morning. It’s a bright beautiful sunshiny start to the day at 81°F. Mark was at the walk the dogs at 7:30 and LaDonna is cooking breakfast today. Me? Well I’m looking for an outing to HomeGoods store. LOL. Hey, it’s got to be done I am looking for a particular dining room table runner.

Thought Sue would get a kick out of the mad skills Wayno has organizing a refrigerator. πŸ˜‚πŸ»

The K’s I.T. guy was here looking at a malfunctioning security camera. He looked a little bit jealous of everyone sitting around the pool. Ha ha. Keep working buddy, you’ll get your day in the sun too. πŸ˜‚

We’re having Matt, Tiffany and the girls for pizzas on the Pizzazz(s) tonight and maybe a swim. Matt’s trying to get off work a bit early …

Wayno’s loving fishing from the dock and da catfish are gobbling up da bait. 🐟

He’s got Reel … and a nice view!

Notice the flamingo drink float. πŸ˜‚

So Matt, Tiffany and the girls arrived about 4:30 with their cousin Zak, age 12 and Hailey’s friend Angelina 15. They loved the pool and only got out long enough for salad, pizza and ice cream cake. It was a great visit.

Tiff, Matt and me …

The kids had a blast!

It was all over by 9 o’clock … we tidied up and were in bef by 10:30.
