Wednesday, August 5, 2020

Good evening. It was a typical day for August in Central Florida. There’s always a chance of thunderstorms mid day to late day, and sometimes, not. Today was not. During the day, Mark puttered about while I finished a painting. At 7 o’clock we all gathered at Lynn’s pool for the evening.

Shorty Hot Pants having fun at the lake. 💕

Bob was first in with a splashy dive ... Kim gets in slowly ... once Lynn, Pat, Mark and I were in with drinks in hand Marky-Mark did a surprise cannonball with a can of beer in hand! It was a fun night.

Good morning. First thing on my docket is to give Markymark a haircut. I will trim up my Mark’s  hair as well.

Our lawn service is here working, and I can hear O’Jay singing a way out there, happy to be working.

One of my paintings went to Celo knob, North Carolina.

Meridyth has it hanging in her cottage office.

After dinner, Mark and I were sitting out front having wine when Markymark and Lani walked by. It started to rain, no, poor, so we invited them into the porch with their two dogs. The rain continued for about an hour so we had a few drinks and a few laughs.

Tony and Aurelia are at Sue and Wayne‘s cottage for a visit! It’s apparently dropped into the high 60s, and everyone is wearing their Kenora  dinner jackets!

It’s Mexican Dominoes night with the L’s. 🥰

Ta ta til tomorrow. 🥰

Monday, August 3, 2020

Good afternoon. It’s a bright beautiful sunshiny day here in Central Florida. The hurricane was downgraded to a tropical storm and is a none event for the state of Florida. However, as it passes us by, it may develop into something larger and go into the Carolinas. We certainly hope not ... let everyone live in peace, we all have enough going on with the coronavirus!

Well I was puttering around doing household chores this morning, Mark went to pick up some new plants for the garden. Where he tore down the wisteria last week, he is putting in two trumpet plants and three pinwheel jasmines along with the ponytail palm that has been living in a pot for 10 years.

I’ve been painting ... don’t know whether I posted my finished projects ...

The fountain in Savannah ...

Seahorse Cottage

I just posted the paintings on eBay ... and sold the 2 cottages right away! Cool.

Sunday, August 2, 2020

Good afternoon. We’re expecting rain and wind today complements of the tropical storm that will be veering past Florida today. So far, we had one heavy rainfall, but that was hours ago and the sun is shining and there’s just a light breeze now.

Ha!

Welcome August! Summer is half-way ... already! It’s a long weekend for Canadians ... and there’s a big fish fry going on at the lake. Yum!

After getting out housekeeping done this morning we’re chilling out after lunch and watching TV. We have fun plans tonight.

At 4:45 we picked up Lani and Marky-Mark and went to LaDonna and Wayno’s for pre-dinner drinks. The L’s are getting new kitchen appliances in September ... and the B’s are getting the ‘old’ ones for their renovation project. Everyone was thrilled! Afterward, we went to Oakwood Smokehouse for dinner. It was delicious, social distancing and masks all around.

So shared this picture from their balcony at the cottage. The moon was beautiful last night. Tata, stay safe everyone!

Friday, July 31, 2020

The month of July is done and the first 6 weeks of summer haven’t been too bad, heat wise, here in Central Florida. We’ve been able to sit out several evenings and enjoy a breeze.

Today Mark pulled down the rest of my wisteria and burned it. We’re going with easier to maintain jasmine and trumpets along the fence between Jim and Candy.

I spy Wayne at the Chip Truck in Kenora! Oh, they’re so delicious!

Mark found this online, and had a good laugh. Apparently mom was doing it right all those years ago ... but she put the tape up too high! Our bangs looked just like this poor little girl's!

Thursday, July 30, 2020

Good afternoon y’all ... we were up and away to Verizon in Lady Lake to buy iphones. As you know, my iPhone 7 had become overloaded and glitchy. So ... I got the iPhone 11 Pro Max (spiffy camera) and Mark got the iPhone 11. Yay!

After we picked up the phones at VERIZON, we met Wayne and LaDonna, who had been having computer work done at Best Buy, at Longhorn steakhouse for lunch. It was fun! After our lunch, we carried on home so I could set up the new phones. They no longer do it in store, you take it home and transfer from one phone to another. I was able to do it, so I think anybody good. Wayne and LaDonna we’re going to pick up their granddaughter for a sleepover. 💕
