Good morning y’all. We’re moving slowly ... late getting home last night. Mark will have a busy day doing “the prep” for a procedure tomorrow. πŸ’© Me? It’s game day at Evie’s!

When we were in the Maggie Valley area, we learned the history of the Woody property, Mark’s nephews ancestral land.

That’s Jeremy in front of the old homestead.

It would be nice to check the place out when we’re there next.

Rod and Shay phoned at happy hour! They’re tearing out the kitchen and having Home Depot build shaker style cabinets. Cool. They’ve been in their “new house” for 2 years ... and now they know what they want done.

Monday August 12, 2019

I usually say good morning, but today I’m going to say what the hell is going on at Eustis Roofing? We had our new roof put on in early June and have been waiting for the wind mitigation report to arrive in the mail. I have phoned no less than four times to check on it. Today I spoke with Jill who cannot find said tie-down pictures. I have the pictures Mark took of the improvements he did, but Jill doesn’t have the pictures of the tiedowns that their job supervisor, Richard, told us were taken which show that the roof is properly tied down to the block. These are the most important pictures! Eustis Roofing removed sheathing on the roof in order to get the pictures. Now they are missing! Our insurance company has jacked our rates! I let Jill know what I thought of their organizational skills!

Happy School Year! Here in Florida it’s the first day of school ... here’s our granddaughters ...

Hailey, 12 ... starting grade 7

Izzy, 8 ... started in grade 3

RanDawn’s Granddaughters ...

Charlotte, 6 ... starting grade 1 and big sister Makenna, 10 ... starting grade 5

Tonight, we were invited to Randy & Dawn‘s for dinner and to play Mexican dominoes. Randy made toasted cheese sandwiches and homemade onion soup. It was delicious. Afterwords, we played a rousing game of dominoes. Randy was the big winner. Six hours later we were headed home. Ha ha. I guess we had a great time.

Homemade French onion soup! πŸ˜‹ (A few bottles of wine were consumed. 😜

Good morning sunshine and humidity! We’re going boating sometime today and taking the Scotties for a ride.

Here’s what Mark discovered when he took the sheets off the boat ...

Mud daubers! What kind of hell is this? Well, I Googled the pesky buggers and found they eat spiders. Good, but the spiders don’t make a mess like this!

While Mark vacuumed every bug in the boathouse, I scrubbed the seats with soap, magic eraser and Tilex! Yes, every boat cleaning job is easier with Tilex. 😜 Now rain is rolling in from the Gulf so plans are for a happy hour cruise!

We went out at 4 o’clock for a short cruise, but there were thunderstorms in the area. Here is the back of the new house being built as taken from the canal.

We’ve heard it is a spec home!

This evening, we talked to Randy & Dawn. They had been out to dinner after having had a very busy day. They will join us on Friday for boating!

Tonight, we are watching the USA Nationals in gymnastics.

Good day! Mz BeeZee and I are watching TV while Robbie and Mark have a sleep in. It must be humid outside as the house windows are foggy!

Well, I got into working my projects while Mark worked on taking a tree down across the street.

πŸΎπŸ’•

Mark had a busy few hours helping Marky-Mark by cutting some trees that were right next to the house! Then, he drank some (unusual) orange beer. It was a good day for it, not too hot.

Me? I’m cladding a mirror frame with seashells for our RV bathroom mirror. Day 3 of a 7 day project. We’ve had 3 nights of fun so it’s a quiet Saturday evening watching telly.

Good afternoon sunshine! Mark had his morning hike in the woods and came home with a bunch of good pictures.

Beautiful doe and fawn!

During the reroofing in June, our gutters were damaged. When I phoned our roofer, they referred me to the shingle delivery people. And the blame game begins! We’ll see what happens.

Sharon, Mark, Sophie and Freya are in Florida for 2 weeks enjoying the theme parks and sites. They drove from Kissimmee to have a visit with us here and then we went to dinner at Hurricanes.

Mark H., Julie, Mark, Sharon, Freya and Sophie.

Fun times!

Sophie, Freya and Sharon.

We made plans to see them for a boating day on Friday!

Good morning! It’s forecast to be 90 this afternoon ... perfect for indoor activities. 😜 I finished sewing the RV dining area curtains. There are 3 two-fabric valances and 6 side panels. I’m pleased with them!

Last night, Makenna took a few pictures using her Christmas present, a Polaroid instant camera. Yeah, we had them back in the day as Randy says. These take small pictures. Here’s one Makenna took of Mark and me. (The tablecloth is missing ... Charlotte’s water went over ... then my wine while catching her water.) 🀣

That’s the pic she took.

This is what the camera looks like! 😎

Tonight was YaYa’s at Trina’s ... what a fun time we had. While I was feasting on Taco salad, Mark looked into things we need done (according to the dealer.) Tomorrow, he’s having a walk in the woods while I work on eBay.

Wednesday, August 7, 2019

Good morning. It’s a cloudy start to our day. Can you believe the first week of August has passed? We’ve been busy getting back from our vacation and catching up with things around the house. Tonight, Randy & Dawn and the two granddaughters are coming for a visit and pizzas. Our Scotties will be happy to see them ... especially Robbie!

Yesterday, Robbie seem to be out of sorts and by late evening, he was panting and in distress. We tried our home remedies ... to no avail. At two in the morning, we rushed off to the emergency vet with him. The vet gave him a good checking over but couldn’t find anything out of the normal range. Since we had noticed him farting and wheeling around to check his butt, we reported that to the vet. He expressed his anal glands; one had gritty stuff first ... then the usual pasty, smelly stuff. πŸ˜… This morning, both dogs are tired from the middle of the night adventure and Robbie is still rather subdued, but not panting. The vet thought that by evening he would be back to normal.

Both doggies ate their dinner and are now watching for company.

We had a BLAST ... ate pizzas, mac ‘n cheese and apple pie! After, we played several rounds of L R C with pennies.

The girls’ mom had been trying to track down RanDawn’s location ... but Dawn’s phone was in the car. Eventually she texted me and this was our response. 🀣 Guess ya had to be there. πŸ˜‚
