Good day! Unbelievably this is our hottest day this summer! It’s 94F ahead of the dry air mass we’re forecast to have as Florence strikes the Carolinas. Otherwise, it’s all fine here in Central Florida.

Our Dodge is still getting the Royal ๐Ÿ‘‘ treatment; now with a new custom “Budge” cover.

Schweet lookin’ cover. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Are you supporting the raise in pay to $15 an hour for entry level employees?

Heeheehee ... should we be testing for spelling skills first?

Today we took the dogs for a car ride to go shopping. It was brief shopping so Mark sat in the car with them. Otherwise, we were home puttering about all day.

Randy and Dawn went to Winter Garden for dinner after his therapy session. Today they fitted him with a brace to help with recovery. (A bit late, perhaps?) Randy climbed a flight of stairs today to get to the margarita bar! So that was the needed motivator after all. Haha. ๐Ÿธ

We’re watching War of the Planet of the Apes. It’s pretty strange but Mark’s enjoying it. ๐Ÿฆ

And BeeZee likes it too.

That’s our day in a nutshell.

Wednesday, September 12, 2018

Good morning ๐ŸŒž ... a beautiful September day awaits us. Mark and I watched the news of folks preparing in the Carolinas for the huge upcoming hurricane. Sad.

We plan to putter around home today. Mark is sore from picking up a load of wood yesterday and stacking it in the boathouse to dry. I’m going to putter on eBay stuff.

Our Dodge is getting a refresher today with new cab clearance lights!

I swear, Mark can do everything! ๐Ÿ˜

Last night we talked with Randy and Dawn. We’re thrilled with the good turn in his therapy. There’s a funny story to go with it. Mark had joked that he would hook Randy up with a ratchet strap and crank it a notch every hour. Well, Randy has one and apparently used it to crank his knee bit by bit! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ Now he’s at 88 degrees. At 90 he can climb stairs and therapy will get easier! ๐Ÿ˜œ

It’s now 8 o’clock and we are just back home from a huge feast at Ichiban! Yes, I ate too much and now I’m suffering. Mark seems fine after 3 meals and dessert. ๐Ÿ˜ณ We drove past the house that Pete and Karen just purchased. They won’t be moving in for about a month as they want to get painting done and new flooring installed. They are just 7.6 miles away, easy enough to visit or meet us for dinner. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

We heard from Donnie tonight, concerned about Paula in Asheville, North Carolina. She may get heavy rainfall (8” - 12”) but says her area has been dry, so no flooding is expected in the mountains. The coastal regions of North and South Carolina could get anywhere from 2 to 4 feet of surge on top of rainfall.

Sue and Wayne are enjoying themselves at the casino tonight for dinner. We talked to Randy & Dawn earlier and he apparently had a very good therapy session but was feeling a little “wonky” from his new medications.

That’s it. That’s all we’ve got today. We’ve had a couple of eBay sales and I have to get them packed up and ready to ship tomorrow. Ta ta!

Tuesday, September 11, 2018

Good morning. It’s Patriots’ Day here in the United States. It’s a day of remembrance for the victims of the 911, a day that changed the world ... or if you’re a conspiracy advocate, set the new world order in force. ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜ฑ

World Trade Center buildings

The Pentagon

Shanksville (3 minutes missing on the timeline! And a

debris field beginning 18 miles away!) ๐Ÿคจ ๐Ÿš€?

So, today, Mark went to purchase some wood to finish our now registered golf cart trailer and to begin work at Marky Mark’s replacing the boathouse roof. He had a wonderful time and went to Northern Tool and came home with bags of goodies. It’s a man thing. Ha ha

Me? Well, Pat hosted game day and there were 12 of us having fun. I played 10,000, a dice game and CheckIt. The other table played Balderdash and Rummicube. At the end, we all sat around having a glass of wine and yakking. What a crazy fun group of gals! Pat’s hubs arrived home early with a golf injury, a twisted knee!

When I got home, I took Robbie and BeeZee for a ride on The Caddy. We did three streets and then heard the thunder. Nothing happened, but we came home just in case. Mark has a delicious smelling sauce on the stove for tonight‘s dinner. I am a very lucky woman; what a great husband! ❤️๐Ÿ˜œ

Gorgeous clouds in our backyard. ❤️

Tonight we’re thinking of those souls lost on 911 and also about those currently in the path of Hurricane Florence.

Monday, September 10, 2018

Good afternoon! What a muddle at Walgreens today getting our flu shots. None of  our info was in their system! Hmmm where did it go? So much for keeping a history of our shots.

Sue and Wayne left the cottage today, They’re on the way to Wisconsin Dells to meet Tony and Aurelia for a few days of R & R. This evening, we heard they had stopped at a one star hotel and Campground in Orr ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

We’re having a run-around day with banking and grocery shopping. Randy is at therapy again today. Let’s hope there’s some improvement in his knee flexibility! We think Dawn goes back to work next week.

Randy & Dawn phoned as they were leaving rehab therapy in Clermont, and were stopping in for a drink. Since we were just going to the grocery store, Mark decided we would pick up pizzas for tonight‘s dinner. Well, we had lots of fun and we’re so glad that Randy was feeling much much better! Randy had 87° today on his knee bend-ability! Wow! We had a toast to his good news. We sat around telling stories and listening to music while eating pizza. It was a good evening. ❤️

Dawn explaining how they were driving and people were flashing lights at them ... and their headlights weren’t on! ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

We watched the weather update on hurricane Florence and it does look very bad for the Carolinas.

Since there are three more hurricanes out there, we will have to watch the weather for another week.

That’s it, it wasn’t a very exciting day on paper, but we had a blast. ๐Ÿ˜œ

Sunday, September 9, 2018

Good morning! Well that was funny ... it was cloudy and dull looking out the front but sunny and blue sky in the back yard. Ha!

Mark’s cooking a big skillet breakfast for us then it’s anyone’s guess what the day brings!

Mz Bee is enjoying scrambled eggs, sweet potatoes, mixed veggies and celery. ๐Ÿ˜‹

Since we’re going out tonight and since there’s a lineup of hurricanes off Africa we decided to put off bowling to later in the week. Mark began trimming our Queen Palms, just in case, and because they needed it.

Much of my recent jewelry findings arrived yesterday so I kept busy with making a men’s line. Tomorrow I’ll get them photo’d and online. Christmas ๐ŸŽ„ is a-coming and I’d best have inventory. ๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿผ

Tonight we’re going to Stavros with Karen and Pete; long story but they’re looking for a home, possibly in our area.

Randy and Dawn are home having Brandon and Jr over for a visit.

Well, it’s now 8 o’clock and we are home from our terrific dinner at Stavros. We had Pete and Karen laughing through all of dinner. They needed it, as they cancelled the purchase of their new home and sold their lot the next day. WOWSA! They were feeling quite homeless ... good thing they have a big 5th wheel!

More tomorrow. Ta ta.

Saturday, September 8, 2018

Yes, good morning sunshine. Mark was up at six to work across the street before it got too hot. (Orlando is forecast to be 90° today, so we will probably be about 88, hot enough!) I was up by 830 and did kitchen cleanup and prepped the dogs’ breakfast. Today, I’m going to work in the sunroom on Ancestry, the family tree.

Speaking of trees, this one’s a goner.

The tree Mark cut down on Marky-Mark’s front yard had been crowded into a strange shape. It had absorbed a chain-link fence so Mark used his sawsall. The end result leaves the nearby Live Oak tree room to grow! ๐ŸŒณ

Our friends Pete and Karen will be back in town late Sunday so we’re planning to meet them at Stavros for dinner. Today Randy & Dawn may come for a visit. We sure hope so.

Our visit last night ... note BeeZee’s next to auntie Dawn. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Apparently Randy had a bad night of tossing and turning so slept and rested today. When they called tonight he sounded better; perhaps a reaction to muscle relaxers? Dr. Sue will bring Robaxacet from Canada ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ for him! So, Mark and I had pizza after our front porch happy hour. There’s a football game on tonight so there’s our Saturday night. ๐Ÿ˜œ

Friday, September 7, 2018

Good morning. Yes, it’s a bright beautiful sunshiny day with a little bit lower humidity. Mark has gone to help his friend Jim with a sprinkler problem. Me, I’m left in charge of cooking the dogs chicken. Oh Em Gee ... it doesn’t look done to me? It’s a good thing they have sharp teeth as they are going to need it. Heeheehee.

Our friends Marky Mark and Lani have an old dog Jake who I’ve talked about before.

Here’s Jake at the pub with his dad.

And here’s how ol’ Jake gets around these days. Oh yes, he still trots around but I think a long walk is probably beyond him.

While we’re on the subject of dogs who have “it made” here’s a picture of Belize in her career days with Roger.

Cute eh?

It was another busy day with putting new items on my eBay store; now I just need some shoppers. ๐Ÿ™„ At noon I stopped to help Mark with Marky-Mark’s boat then took the kids for a ride. There was just one small flock of Ibis on our route! The new build the end of our street is coming along quickly.

Our front porch has a guard frog ๐Ÿธ living in our avocado tree!

This evening, we went to visit Randy & Dawn and see how Randy’s progress is. He is still in a lot of pain and had taken a muscle relaxer a couple of hours before we got there. We had a good time, but he certainly is not feeling like himself. He just finished the first week five days a week therapy and has next week to go through as well. Let’s hope that turns the corner for him.

That’s it for tonight.
