Haha! Good afternoon y’all. Did I mention Shay sent us home with boxes of goodies? One box is beads and jewelry making items but others were carnival glass and Knick knack patty whacks from their collection. Nice! Meanwhile, Mark took advantage of the cooler weather and went hunting. (He saw plenty of does and fawns but no bucks.) There was evidence of bear activity on the trails. πŸ‘» Speaking of bears, we have 1 big guy in our neighborhood (again.)

Today a 2nd insurance adjuster came to look at our roof and living room floor. I hope we’ll be covered for a new floor. It looks awful with raised edges and twists. Oh well ...

Cousin Patrick is in Boston competing for his Oxford University this week. Nice picture! Rah rah ... wish we could be there to watch.

Tonight we met Randy and Dawn at Tiki West for dinner and drinks. The floating docks around the seaplane base and marina were piled up after hurricane Irma. Apparently repairs and replacement will take up to a year. Nothing happens quickly it seems.

Good afternoon y’all. It’s good to be back to wifi... 42 emails loaded and 1 was really important! Our payment for vehicle insurance was “lost” and we got a final reminder notice! 😱 Lucky we weren’t staying a few days longer!!!

The drive home from Lake Placid on 27 was tedious, 3 hours of stop ‘n go through a myriad of towns. No thanks! Anyway, we had a great visit and loved seeing ShayRod. They visited twice when we bought this place and worked with us. (We were all 17 years younger; worked and partied harder.) πŸ˜…

I was glad Mark was able to hang the (complicated) set of shelves for Shay.

A visit from “Nessie!” It must have been the Celtic bloodlines that brought the ol’ beast to visit us all. ☘️

Back home, we emptied the RV, tidied up and parked it, first try. Sweet. ✅

It’s so nice to feel cooler air! Tomorrow morning is supposed to be 62° in the Ocala forest. Mark will be going hunting!

Guess who!

We caught up on the news, nothing very good, and then watched Ray Donovan, the Big Bang theory and
Below Deck. Tomorrow, will get back to normal. Tata

Good afternoon. It’s the 17th year since dad‘s passing.

❤️

After breakfast today, Mark left to help Roddy around the new house. I spent a relaxing day at the RV with the BeeZee and Robbie mostly reading the third book in the Outlander series. Both Scotties are extremely lazy today having been extra busy the last several. Now at 3 o’clock, they are enjoying rawhides.

After the deluxe RV sites at River Ranch, this is paltry. Blah.

Tonight, we are going to dinner with Rod and Shay to a favorite restaurant of their’s. Apparently dogs are allowed on the patio, so we shall see. At the moment it looks like rain.

We had appetizers and drinks at Rod and Shay‘s house and then went to Dock623 for dinner.

We had tons of laughs, as always! Afterward, we went back to their place for chocolate cake and after dinner drinks. We were home by 9 o’clock for the doggies! Wow.

Tomorrow, we’re off to home base!

Monday, October 16, 2017

Good morning. Well we have certainly enjoyed our stay at Westgate River Ranch. We left the campground about 1030 heading for Sebring, Florida. We will be staying at Buttonwood RV park, near to Rod and Shay in Lake Placid.

We took the dogs and went for cocktails at Rod and Shay’s for 4 o’clock.

There were plenty of laughs, and it was wonderful to see them! The location of their new property is lovely. They have a good view of Lake Henry from their front sitting porch. It’s a large porch with room for a huge table and chairs.

I like the old style porch ceiling!

A ponytail length contest ensued between Shay and Mark. Both of them are talking about cutting the pony tails off.😱

After cocktails, before dinner, Roddy wanted us to take for a ride on their golf cart.

As you can see, Robbie, Belize and I were first on board. We saved just enough room for Roddy to drive, with Mark and Shay on the backseat.

Sunset over the lake was very pretty, although we were a little late for the full effect.

Roddy took us on quite a ride on the golf cart. After we were “off-roading” along the golf course, we pulled back onto the road as the golf cart started to slow down ... waaay down. Eventually, Rod, Shay and Mark pushed while the dogs and I drove. Hahaha. Since we had no headlights, Mark gave me his cell phone flashlight to use as a headlight. We were about 2 miles from their house. Bwahahaha. OMG, we laughed all the way home.

After that, Roddy put the pork on the barbecue and Shay made a salad and potatoes. We ate dinner on the front porch. It was a fun night.

Tomorrow, Mark is going to help them hang a few items in the guestroom.

Yahoo! Hey, Internet service is a little spotty here. It’s now 830 and we have just come home from dinner at the smokehouse. We sat with Mitsy, Richard, Maya, David, Pete and Linda. They are all FUN people. Linda is, as Randy & Lew would say, a real pisser. OMG she’s a joke a minute.

Anyway, we puttered around the RV today and had a fairly relaxing day, doing laundry and tidying up for tonight’s happy hour. We invited a few for drinks ...

Linda, Pete, Mitzie & Richard (easy guests as they arrived with their own drinks!)

Saturday, October 14, 2017

Good afternoon. We had a lazy start to our Saturday but took the kids for an hour’s ride on the golf cart. I’m liking the gas version now that I’m getting used to it; also it’s new, not like driving The Caddy. 😜

Lazy morning ... you see who claims the prime window seat!

This afternoon Mark’s watching football ... at 5 there’s happy hour at the clubhouse followed by a catered dinner of chicken, ribs etc at 6. Most are going to the rodeo afterward, but we’re going to the Saloon.

Bonnie posted this cute pic of cowboy Percy. He should be RVin’ with us here in that getup! Giddy up.  πŸΎπŸ’•

It was a perfect afternoon for a swim. The water was just right, about 83ish. Mark watched football for awhile.

Dinner tonight was catered by West Gate, tender ribs, chicken, sweet potatoes, beans and cornbread. We came home for a cigar on the patio and to sit out with the doggies before going to the saloon.

Howdy from rain misted River Ranch. Don’t worry, it cleared quickly and we went in search of coffee filters at the general store!

After lunch we took BeeZee and Robbie for an hour long golf cart ride to see animals.

Texas long horns grazed nearby. They’re BIG!

We rode to the skeet shooting and archery area where the wind was whipping and more misty rain. No problem, it felt great. There was a corral of mares with 2 yearlings where we rode the golf cart to visit. One youngster wandered over but about 15’ from us Robbie gave a most fearsome bark. The horse paused, blinked at us and stood still. BeeZee was amazed and just stared at the horses. Cute.

Back at the RV, it’s relax mode for an hour. Tonight is a GRW cocktail party at 5 with potluck dinner at 6. Mark’s making BBQ grape jelly meatballs, a big hit at the Cedar Key campout. After dinner there’s a band and dancing.

We met a new couple, Jerry & Debbie from Flagler Beach. She was born and raised in Oklahoma City ... we had fun talking to her. Jerry is a pilot, retired now, but own an RV7, a small plane. We saw pics ... really neat.

Me, Mitsy, Richard and Mia.

Dinner was great. There were plenty of dishes and a big selection. The Internet and phone service is lousy here so please be patient with blog updates.
