Good morning. I couldn't keep my eyes open last night and was in bed by 930. Ha ha. No wonder I'm up at 5:30. That's life! 

We both had a visit to our dentist and came away with a clean bill of health. It sure is nice to have freshly polished teeth. After that, we went home, picked up Robbie and Belizeand went to check on RanDawn's place and water plants. We were surprised to see the Tiki umbrellas open on the deck and dock! Wow. We never leave our umbrella up! While I watered potted plants, Mark hauled the hose out and soaked the inground plants. He couldn't get the sprinkler going as "someone"had messed with the settings. Then I discovered ... OMG ... there wasn't a beer nor a glass of wine to be found! What a dreadful visit! The dogs had fun though, running around the porch looking for cats 'n rats. 

 

Aha! There's their 3rd Tiki umbrella! Apparently a windstorm occurred! Who could have predicted that? 

Back home, the kids watched floor installers cutting boards at Lew's across the road. 

So, we poured a glass of wine and Mark began his dinner preparation well I began a low-carb chocolate almond chip cookie batch. I know it sounds simple, but those darn cookies take two hours to make! While I was taking up most of the kitchen, Mark poured wine and got in the Christmas spirit. "Tis the season ..." (well til Ancient Aliens came on. 😂)

 

Dinosaurs lived along side man ... with fossils found in the same strata!!! Humans coexisted with dinosaurs, who knew? Triassic, Jurassic and cretaceous (135 million years ago) as the "youngest!" Cool, eh? Unfortunately, Marky fell asleep. Wha-wa-waaa.  50,000 stones have been found in Peru with the Ica stones showing humans and dinosaurs coexisting! Sweet. 

 

So, more wine ... more "aliens" and a fun evening.

Good morning. Mark was up and out hunting with Lew while I enjoyed TIME magazine with BZ on my lap. 

This afternoon, we are invited to a Christmas tree decorating party at Sharon and Art's house. Now I'm sure this sounds simple, until you realize they set up 43 trees last year! Each tree is numbered with the coordinating decoration boxes. While all this is going on, Sharon cooks up a storm for everyone. It's going to be a crazy day. LOL

Mark came home at 4:30 to feed the doggies while I finished up the seashell Christmas tree around Sharon and Art's pool area. They are the most generous folks, it's nice to help out with decorating for their party. 

Sunday's news commentary was all about Herr Trumpf ... so this fits well. LOL

Good morning. It's a very chilly start to our day, well, at least in Florida, (it's 58° at 7 AM!) Mark and Lew left about an hour ago for the Ocala National Forest. It's opening day for deer hunting season. 

For me, I seldom get back to sleep once awake, piles of laundry awaited. It's always fun to go away, but a muddle when you get home. Ha ha. The piper must be paid. Everything went smoothly until I accidentally put a wee bit too much detergent into the washer. When I went to check to see if it was done, it had a SUDS error code. It didn't take much intelligence to figure out what that meant. So, I tried clearing the code to run a rinse cycle. Of course that didn't work. So I tried a couple of cancellation codes which didn't work either. While I was reading up on Whirlpool duet washer error codes, I read how to use three buttons to clear an error code. When I went to the laundry room, the washer had fixed itself and was merrily spinning away. 😁 📝 to self… Buy very basic appliances. 

Mark arrived home about 1230, having had a flat tire on the highway. He and Lew changed it on the grassy swale. I guess Da Mountie we will get the new tires now! Mark suggested to Lew that they whisper on their walk from the vehicle to their hunting stands. Apparently Lew, a Marine, never learned to whisper. 😳 finally, Mark just had to laugh and shake his head. They had a good time and saw a couple of deer, two Tom 🦃 and bear tracks. 

Robbie and BeeZee enjoyed their backyard today as 4 squirrels moved in while we were away last week! In fairness, our oak tree is loaded with acorns. What squirrel would not be tempted? Robbie watches them, but never barks. BZ has more trouble controlling herself! She barks, then looks at the door for me to tell her "no." Ha ha ... what a smart girl. After they wore out that game they came inside and each had a rawhide chew bone. Rick Moir always says he wants to come back as one of K's  dogs ... but I suspect we could be second choice. Ha ha. 

This afternoon, we readied the RV to park and by 3 o'clock it was in its port. Yay! Another successful trip comes to an end. 

 

Have you heard about the safety pin on your clothing? It began in Britain to help ease the fears of those targeted after the Brexit vote. 

  

 

 So, that's my rally cry for today. I hope I have always stood up for the underdog, but it is going to take on a new importance over the next four years. 

So, after our busy day, we went to the Crazy Gator for dinner. We had Caesar salad's and chicken wings, and boy were they good.

Good morning sunshine! It was 70 degrees when we left Flamingo Lake RV resort, heading home. It looks like a nice place for a springtime vacation spot. 

 

Robbie and BeeZee were snuggling on the chair this morning! Cute!

Sue and Wayne pulled out an hour ahead of us but were not home until 530 as they had another 200 miles to drive. It was a fun trip, and we are very glad we went. But, oh the mail when we got home. Ha ha ... including the tax bill. 

Tomorrow, Mark is going for opening day of deer hunting season with Lew and Ben. He is as keyed up as a kid going to Walt Disney World. 🙄

Me? Well, I am going to clean the RV interior ... mirrors, French doors, nooks and crannies. It's always nice when we put it away spotless because it pulls out of the RV port ready to go. 

Our Dodge 3500 (diesel) needs to go in for service. It has had an intermittent dash light and we know what the codes are. Now we need a technician to check the turbo charger and if it is just an error code, clear it, or if something is not functioning properly, fix it. We are still getting 11.8 miles per gallon towing that big monster. Can you believe that we are on our first set of brakes with more than 80,000 miles on the Dodge! So, when it goes in for the turbocharger check up, we will definitely have new brakes put on. Every time the dealer checked, we were told they don't need it yet. Amazing! It may be time for a new battery as well. Ka-ching. 💰😳

Randy, Dawn, Jill, Bob, Laurie and Lorne left on a Carnival cruise for the Caribbean today. We wish them smooth seas and fun times.

It's a good morning after a very sound sleep. Being a little cool at 47F we had an opportunity to run our RV's furnace. 👍🏻

Randy and Dawn's marriage ceremony was lovely on the fine sands of Folly Beach. 

 

It's a new beginning ... Dawn was stunning in a short white dress with crystal trim and Randy was debonair in white leather. ❤️

 

In attendance, Mark and I, Sue and Wayne from Florida ... Bob and Jill, Lorne and Laurie from Winnipeg, Canada. 

After the ceremony, we all met at RanDawn's bed and breakfast where the happy couple poured champagne 🍾 and cut the pretty wedding cake.

The wedding cake featured white chocolate seashell decorations. 

 

At 7:15 we met at 82 QUEEN Street, Charleston for a fabulous dinner party! 

 

We found the gang having drinks in the courtyard gazebo! Randy had reserved a private room ...

It was over-the-top food and service! Thank you to Randy and Dawn for a delightful evening. 

 

Lorne enjoyed red wine HIS way ... in his "dirty" beer glass. 🙄

WOWSA ... what fun! 

Now today, Sue and Wayne are heading home to South Florida, about 560 mile drive. 

Mark wanted to begin our drive back, which will be 375 miles. I secretly know that he and Lew are hunting first thing Saturday morning, so he wants to be home early enough Friday to be all prepared for the big hot. LOL BOYS! So, at noon, we began our drive home.

Randy and Dawn went back to Folly Beach to pick seashells for their beach wedding frame. They also added to the graffiti on the walkway down to the beach. It's OK, thousands have done it.

So we left Charleston at 12:30 and arrived about 630 in Jacksonville, Florida. Sue and Wayne had arrived shortly before, then Wayne went to look at a boat, for business. Mark had fat pork chops to cook on the grill, while I did veggies. Wayne picked up salad ingredients so we had a feast.

 

Sorry, Randy, but the Bro-Mance is real. LOL. I saw it, Wayne was feeding Mark salad.

It's a brand-new kind of day on planet 🌏 as a brash political underdog becomes the 45th president-elect. GOD help us all as WE are all in this together. Preppers will prep ... Gun dealers will deal ... Racism will rise ... and the US economy will, well, tank while the world order adjusts to this, this blatant hatred in America.

We the People ... saw deeply into one another's souls, and it's disturbing ... relationships will carry on, perhaps, with a deep scar of mistrust. Money, it has been said, is the root of all evil. Well, "We the People" have elected evil and the world order shudders. 

On a personally happy day, our beloved brother Randy weds Dawn who indeed brings a new light into our family and we wish them decades of health and happiness. 

Tomorrow, I'll post pics and we'll be back into some normalcy. The sun will shine ...

Good morning. It's a bit of a chilly start (53) but looks like a beautiful day ahead. Sue and Wayne are going to IHOP for breakfast while Mark and I will fend for ourselves here. You see, we have a load of laundry to do since "someone" spilled red wine 🍷 on Marky's light colored shirt and shorts. 🤗 Oops.

Sue joined Mark and me for a Folly ride. We got turned about several times but after a few tries found "the lighthouse!" Since my calf and thigh were cramping (since yesterday) we decided no walking today. I bought some Advil and BioFreeze ... so hope to get some pain relief. It's such a charley-horse it woke me (and Mark) 7 times last night. Neigh. 

Sue and Wayne invited us for happy hour at 4 ... then we'll see how I feel. Randy and Dawn are entertaining their Winnipeg pals and doing "wedding" stuff. 

 

We voted by mail, I hope you voted too!

For dinner, we had chicken wings with Sue and Wayne in the Prevost ... imported, from Canada. Yum! Election results started coming in just as we went to take the dogs for a truck ride. St. James County Park is a lit with Christmas lights. 

 

Mark lit a bonfire 🔥 and we joined him with wine in hand. 

 

Mark, Sue and Wayne ... and a great roaring fire.
