Gunday ... August 20, 2016

Good morning. We were up and out very early for a concealed carry class. With all the crap going on in the world, we decided to get our concealed licenses. Now I know my Canadian friends may shake their heads in dismay ... both of us would hate to feel helpless and see someone else brutalized if we could do something about it. So there. It's not a cheap proposition! After a trip to the gun range with the officer, we headed home to walk the doggies.

Randy and Dawn popped in about 330 after having visited Brandon and Brandon Junior for lunch. Dawn says Brandon Junior is now saying "da da!" and is beginning to stand by himself. Time goes so quickly as it seems he was just born yesterday!

Niece Olivia is traveling this weekend with her husband Derek (nearly a year!) and their pup Echo.
Cute, eh? They went to Savannah's baby shower in Asheville!
Savannah has 9 more weeks ...
Everyone teased Marshall as he's put on 16 lbs for Savannah's pregnancy. LOL

That was our (fun) busy day. Ta Ta.

Friday, August 19, 2016

Oh it's so quiet this morning! Well, except for a squirrel racing across our roof ... and Mz BeeZee on high alert. LOL. Mark is still sleeping!

What a lazy afternoon following our household chores! LOL ... just like we're retired folks!
Dog walking with Robbie's nemesis Ibis. LOL

Sue sent a cute picture of Daisy visiting and Julius in the background.
I think Rick and Daisy are on their way back to Kelowna, BC. Ruth will be happy to see them! I think Rick had a wonderful vacation and great fishing! We hope to see them this fall in Florida ...

At 6 we met Randy and Dawn at Guadlajara for dinner. Their Fajita del Mar is great ... grilled shrimp and scallops with veggies! Yum.  RanDawn are coming over for dominoes ...

LOL. I guess you had to be there, but this was Mark's face while playing dominoes!
Dawn said he looked like Jack Nicholson from "The Shining!" LOL. Of course we had challenge of fun playing dominoes. Randy took an equally unflattering photo, which will remain un-shown ... Mark, of course, was quite proud of his. LOL

That was it. That was our day. I hope yours was good.

Thirstday August 18, 2016

Good day eh? We began our morning routine ... then watched the women's Olympic diving qualifier round. Damn, they come so close to hitting the board ... one girl's ponytail hit the platform! Yikes.

Mark left about 1030 to help Randy install his garage air-conditioner. I had the very exciting task of paying bills and, more fun, scheduling RV trips! It all sounds simple, but do remember I'm entertaining two fairly lively Scotties while attempting paperwork. LOL. Do you know anyone who orders the "bark box?" It's a surprise package that arrives monthly for your dog(s.)

Speaking of boxes ... Bonnie and her faithful Scottie, Cabby, delivered packed boxes to their storage unit. (Bonnie and Roger have listed their Tulsa house for sale.) Alas, we have many fond memories of our visits there.
Although dear Cabby seems to be sticking close by in this picture, he did take off after something that caught his eye ... typical terrier instinct! But, he came back when his mom called him.
What??? Hey, I nearly caught it Mom!
OK! Let's go home! Aroooo!

Mark ran into an issue at Randy's with not enough power to run everything he has in his garage room plus the air-conditioner. Wha-waaa. The air-conditioner works well, but not with the refrigerator and TV plugged in too! Hey, that's normal ... one job always leads to another. LOL
15,000 BTU A/C unit plugs into wall socket! Awesome ... if YOU have a circuit for it. Haha.

We're happy to see K's Chippy keeping a close watch on HIS birdseed. Aw, so cute! Why don't we have Chipmunks in Central Florida?
Well, apparently WE DO!

So, it would be very nice if a dozen or so hitched a Prevost ride south ... just sayin' ... they could avoid a freezing winter!

We know this is our friend Jim G on the right ...
'cause that glass contains Apple Crown! ;-)

So, tonight, after happy hour ... Olympics! Ta Ta.

Wednesday, August 17, 2016

Good morning. We slept in and missed Randy's offer to pop in for coffee. He had dropped Dawn at work and was hoping for a visit. Too bad, but we were still sleeping! We stayed up very late watching the Olympics.
The dive by Shaunae Miller won by the 400M!

Today, I went with the gals for luncheon at Tiki West. It was a nice time and I caught up on what everyone had been up to. Of course I had tales of our fun with Rod and Shay's visit.

The dinner night at Hollerbach's (Sanford's) German restaurant was, by all accounts, good food and lively entertainment! (We were in Virginia but will partake of the next group reservation!)

Mark gathered his tools for tomorrow's fun at RanDawn's installing a big A/C unit in their Harley garage/room. It will certainly make it more usable year round.

After dinner (Mark cooked spaghetti sauce!) and a dog walk, we settled in to watch more Olympics!

That was our lazy enough day!

Tuesday August 16, 2016

Good morning sunshine! (I was up earlier than the sun so watched an Ancient Aliens with Beez on my lap.) After I went back to bed, Mark got up and washed the car!
So, after chores were done we took ourselves to lunch at Gators Dockside Mark was in the mood for a big Cobb salad. I had a buffalo chicken wrap which was very good, but very messy. LOL

Later, we went and bowled two games; the first in more than three weeks. The first game we were both pitiful. Mark's second game improved somewhat, but mine did not. More practice is needed. Wa waaa.
Mark missed a "Turkey!" Hahaha.

Speaking of Bowling, Randy and Dawn met Greg and Sue for more bowling today. RanDawn have to drive home later tonight.  Randy's dental work was a fit failure, for the third time. >:-( His dentist offered to make good on the ordeal ... but that means more visits to Pompano!

Bonnie forwarded a pic of Robbie's brother Tubby who lives in Chicago.
Isn't he a cutie! We're so happy ... he has 2 (human) girls to play with! You look very healthy Tubby!

Meanwhile in Canada ...
Wayne and Sue's guests enjoyed a dockside fish fry! (I'm sure it made their awful flight experience worthwhile!)

Back home, Mark cooked a lovely spaghetti sauce, but even at 6:30, we were too full from our big lunch ... so we're going to watch the Olympics diving!  Ok!

ShayRod go south ... August 15, 2016

Good morning. Well, I'm betting that no one slept well last night as we are quite used to ceiling fans blowing while we sleep. The house remained cool enough, but just no air movement. At 3:15, the electric came back on and life returned to normal.

Roddy was up by 830, but Shay slept until nearly 9. We had toasted bagels for breakfast and, again, plenty of laughs. We certainly enjoyed our visit with them and were sad to see them leave about 10 o'clock for home.

While we were entertaining and having fun in Florida, Sue and Wayne attended Jim's housewarming party! Here are a few photos shared with us.

The happy gang at Jim's on Clearwater Bay!

I'm guessing it was quite a noisy crowd!

Thank you to Bob and Jill for sharing some photos!

Sue sent a picture of a young visitor at their cottage today!
I think this picture was taken from Sue's screened porch!

Randy and Dawn went to Pompano (for another dentist visit) and bowled with Greg. (Dawn wrote that Randy took a whooping!) LOL

That was our day ...

Sunday ... August 14, 2016

Sunday-Funday! We were up and aboard Mrs R B by 9 for a cruise to breakfast! Imagine us all up and out at the same time!

Magnolia's Cafe serves a good breakfast which kept us going as we cruised Lake Eustis, the Dora Canal and Lake Dora. Then it was high time for a brew at Okeefe's. When we arrived, they were just vacuuming from the night before! LOL ... but that didn't stop us from sitting at the bar! We had one and continued our cruise.
Mark and Roddy ... walking up to Magnolia's from the lake.
Shay and Roddy ... enjoying the Dora Canal cruise. It was overcast and coolish.

Back home, we were eating chips and giggling in the kitchen when Randy arrived (soaked to the skin) on his bike. Shay said, "grab him a towel!!!"  But I said, "Hell no, I've got to get a picture for the blog." Hee hee.
Hahaha ... Roddy and Mark felt sorry for Randy and poured him a drink. Roddy  poured a margarita while Mark poured him a Tennessee honey whiskey. Bazinga!
Roddy treated us to his rendition of Jerry Lee Lewis's "Balls of Fire!" Hilarious!
We all yakked for over an hour and were laughing like fools. It was great fun!

At five, we went to RanDawn's for a dinner party. Randy and Dawn had salad, excellent chicken marsala, whipped tomatoes and green beans. Of course there were many bottles of champagne and wine involved! We had so much fun telling stories and laughing.
It was a gorgeous evening ... hors d'oeuvres and champagne on the porch ... and lizard hunting for the doggies!

Robbie and BeeZee were lucky to spend the evening with everyone! Sweet.

So, we came home about 1030, and continued chatting for a while. What a great day it had been! Suddenly at 11:30 the electric went off and Shay yelled, "Last call!" LOL. Actually, Duke Energy had a power failure caused by equipment damage. There were no storms around that we were aware of, but definitely something major happened as the power remained off until 315 in the morning!
