Rocking Rabbits ... July 20, 2016

Good morning. It's going to be a hectic day around here. Plenty to do!  After the morning routine, I have lunch at the Rocking Rabbit in Mount Dora with "the girls."  Woohoo.

Mark is adding lights around our RV's steps ... flashy purple rope lights, and lubricating everything. We haven't used it for a few months ... better safe than like last year's "trip from hell."

The enormous Rocking Rabbit ...
is very cute! Flo offered to get on his back for a pic but we hadn't gotten our food yet. LOL. Everything was good ... but no one sampled the homemade beer! (Too early?) A relatively new addition to our group is Deenna. I love hearing how folks find our area of Florida. When Deenna retired 12 years ago she bought a brand-new 40' diesel pusher, an American Coach, and all alone learned to handle it including towing her car went on a 10 year RV trek. Awesome! After 10 years solo (this part is great) she wound up buying a house with her 1st husband after his 2nd marriage failed. LOL. Now THATS a story!

So that's it for today! Here's a laugh complements from Sue!

Ta Ta til tomorrow.

Toosdee July 19, 2016

Good day! We started our morning listening to the GOP convention coverage  and Steven Colbert's hilarious performance of Christmas in July. Then of course there was Trump's wife Melania's (plagiarized) speech. Oh boy! I wish Jon Stewart was around to guide us through the craziness.
This cartoonist has plenty to say! Do we really want an egomaniac with a finger on  THE button? What kind of world will we pass onto our children and grandchildren? That is, assuming there's a planet after "the D T's." Plenty of my GOP pals will be tuning out about now so I will expand on Hillary. I'm mad as hell too that she lied to the American people about her private email server. I am! She had plenty of time to come clean about it. I think though that HC has the world's best interests at heart. We cannot alienate our NATO friends ... yes, we need immigration reform ... yes we need to control our borders and screen people ... but let's take a deep breath and THINK. This terrorism problem started with the first attack on the World Trade Center in the 1990s. There were many attacks around the world that we as Americans largely ignored until 911 when we were brought kicking and screaming into the war on terror with Dubya in charge. Now these 15 years later we have home grown terrorists ... some are children of immigrants who have become radicalized, and some of our own just plain nut jobs! THAT'S what we must address! One of the problems with the World Wide Web is everyone's a possible bomb builder ... unlike China, where access is limited to what their government allows them to see. We ALL have to want peace ... and remain vigilant by reporting even the smallest indication of  craziness to the police.

I don't know what's going to happen with this election but I do know we all have to be kinder to one another ... after all, we are all on this planet together.

So, that said, it was a very nice day here! We took our Dodge in for pre-trip service and were annoyed with Advantage ... after 3 hours, they only managed the oil change ... no tire rotation ... tires under inflated ... truck not washed. Mark brought it home that way but when I heard, I called Jack, service manager. Yes, he was sorry; bring it back in, blah blah blah. What a waste of a day.

By 6 o'clock there was a breeze and we sat outback for happy hour and ring toss. Of course Mark aced the game and I could practice all week and never achieve any skill. LOL ... never mind, the wine was good.

Randy and Dawn are on their way home from Pompano. Unfortunately, Randy's dental bridge did not fit, again, so Mark offered to carve him a tooth out of an old deer antler. LOL. Hey, at least he doesn't have to travel 4 hours each way for a fitting. Ha ha ha. (I know Rick Moir will love that.)

Years ago, Sue gave Shiloh a hand-me-down toy, Garfield, that had been loved and played with by her 2 dogs. Shiloh loved it, it was his favorite toy and it was passed on to Maggi. Somehow, it's survived Maggi and got passed on to Robbie. It was Robbie's absolute favorite toy, and notice I said it in past tense.
Sweet Mz BeeZee killed Garfield! Call the undertaker. Wa wa waaaa.

So that was our day. Now it's Ancient Aliens and propulsion of the the Vimanas ... later tonight is a great TV. I expect happy hour may continue ... peace be with us all.

MONday ... July 18, 2016

Hello ... what's up? Well, Mark pulled the RV out for washing ... and eventual loading. Woohoo! Me? Some sewing ... some packing ... and tidying my craft room.

I must find this print for both Bonnie and me. Isn't it the cutest?

Well, all that was planned before I got the link from my friend Timichael to watch Ed Fouche talk about our secret-NATO-crypto UFO technology. I was glued to my iPhone screen!

Well, as Mark mentioned, it hasn't rained often during the day. But, because we hauled the RV out and wanted to work on it, it rained. LOL ... So we napped for an hour! In March, when we last put the RV into it's port, we hit the side of the house with the RV's awning. Well, today Mark fixed. Of course it was 93° in the sun! But, it's fixed and good as new. He's the man!

I worked on our "House" photo album today, reorganizing and labeling the changes we've done to the house since 2000. There have been a lot of changes, not even the doors are in the same location. LOL

Mark cooked a good batch of spaghetti sauce ...
Yum! Just as we finished dinner, our doorbell rang with an usual chime, one we'd never heard before! Mark went to the door, but no one was there! Ooo ... spooky! (Maybe new batteries are in order?)

Look at the gorgeous blue sky in the UK ... Miles took a selfie with his dad and mom at the Latitudes Festival.
Looking great ...

But we prefer this hat on Alastair!
Flo joined the fun ... pink dyed sheep and all.

That was our Monday!

Bowl-Day ... July 17, 2016

Hi y'all ... we're up and out of the house by noon! LOL
Happy 15th Birthday to dear Percy-Man! Gettin' old ain't for sissies, humans nor dogs! Imagine the policing this Westie has done between Bonnie's "rescue" years and Scottie breeding years. You da man Percy!

Bonnie and Roger have been hard at work painting the front porch columns of her 1921 Craftsman cottage.

Before ...

After ...
Wowsa! What a difference! Great job!

Also, Bonnie doesn't have a drop of paint on her ...
Amazing ... (I really get into the paint.)

Meanwhile, at the lanes, it was challenging bowling for me. Finally, the 3rd game I broke 100 ... but Mark was on fire with games in the 170's and 183. Our new bowling friends arrived as we began our final game ... but they're too professional for the likes of us. LOL. Mark felt we'd burnt 3 calories each so took us for Wendy's Frosties!

Randy and Dawn are on their way to South Florida for Randy's dental appointment tomorrow. They will get a visit with Greg and Sue ... and maybe a bowling challenge too!

Lynn & Lew invited us for a swim and dinner ... so we poured a drink and took a dunk. Since Mark had already made us chicken tortilla soup, we declined dinner. (Lew said Lynn needed to "calm down" as she has work tomorrow.) LOL ... Mark and I bring the "partitude!" Haha.

It's time to chill and watch TV ... you know, the insult volley that our politicians are so enjoying ...

Ta Ta til tomorrow!

Hot in Florida ... it's summer! Good morning.
Robbie and Belize have it right; watching the squirrels and birds from the comfort of the sofa. It's too hot for me, too!

Mark worked on our barbecue ... cleaning it up before Rod & Shay arrive next month. It needed some new parts ... so off to Home Depot he went. What a great guy! Me? It was my job to do 4 loads of laundry and to list a few things on eBay.

Belize's daughter Hana has been sold. I don't know how Bonnie does it? If I was to breed my Scotties, I wouldn't be able to give up the pups. OMG, I'd be One of those crazy people on TV ... a hoarder!
Wee Hana, 8 months old ... and housebroken ... a real sweetie. Good luck little one. I loved babysitting you in January/February when you were still wetting your bed. LOL. Now you're a 19 pound girl, and gorgeous!

Sue and Wayne had a successful dock party last night, with the last partiers leaving about 930.
We're so happy you had good weather!

Giant Recreation World's November rally forms arrived today ... and we booked for  November 2nd through 5th. The entertainment looks fab ... and last year was a blast. THIS time, we're booking a golf cart; we wished we did last year as that park is HUGE!

The BBQ repaired ... chores done ... it's Happy Hour then off to dinner with Lew and Lynn tonight. Yay!

Well, Lew wouldn't pose for a pic but otherwise ... it was fun. They hadn't been to Guadalajara ... and liked it! We got home as the lightening started ... and of course we brought treats for the kids. That was our day. How was yours?

Mid-July 2016

It's a hot one today ... 91 ... with thunderstorms forecast this afternoon! Mark started working on our boathouse slip again; finishing that portion before company arrives next month. Me? Definitely inside chores ... it's too hot for this redhead. Haha.

Last night, Jim hosted a summer dinner party at his gorgeous castle-cottage!
Left side: Sue, Bruce, Judy, Donna and host Jim at the head of the table ...
Right side: Chris, Rose, Dennis, Wayne, Heather  (We missed a party! Drat. Next year for certain!)
The deck is gorgeous!
Wayne liked Jim's new Bentley. Nice ride!

Meanwhile at Sue and Wayne's in Kendall Inlet ... they're hosting a dock party tonight ...
and their new dock is all ready!
It's a huge extension! Plenty of space for a dozen boats!
They're ready for happy hour fun!

Mark worked a long day and got one side of our boat slip finished! Nice.

That's it til tomorrow.

YaYa's ... July 14, 2016

Good morning from slightly hung over Central Florida. LOL ... A fun time was had by all on date night. It was so lovely to sit outside at the sandbar!
The food was very good at Puddle Jumpers but we all felt the interior decor could use some jazzing up. (We guessed it's supposed to be the inside of an airplane hangar.)

This morning, I got up to a bit of a muddle with dishes in the sink from yesterday's happy hour and some Scotties demanding extra attention. They were allowed on the bed for snuggle buggle time. Usually, Robbie could care less, but today he was right in there! LOL  Mark cooked all of us toast and eggs for breakfast! (He's feeling ambitious enough to finish the boat slip refacing before our vacay. So, it's a trip to Lowes for lumber.)

Hey, it's Throwback Thursday! Here's one for ya ... baby Donald! Awww ...
C'mom ... that's hilarious.

Sue sent me this picture of Wayne and Shorty Hot Pants snuggling on SHORTY'S recliner. (He won't let me sit there!) Cute enough ...
but hilarious when you see the t-shirt below!
(Sorry Wayne.) LOL

Tonight was YaYa's at Sharon's ... and we were guaranteed a great assortment of food and fun. After a round of trivia, she had a 2 card bingo followed by charades. It was crazy fun! We broke up the party to get home before the rain. Beez and Robs were house sitting as Mark went with the guys to Zellie's pub for supper. It was a good evening ... until we heard the latest horrible news in Nice, France. >:-0
Jim hosted a dinner party this evening at his castle-cottage. Hopefully Sue will send a few pics.

That's it for tonight. Ta Ta.
