Mid-May Bowling ... 5/15/16

Good morning. Mark was up first and had my craft room organizer moved and rehung before I was fully awake! Nice. What a great husband I have! Muah!

After our chores were done, we decided to go bowl two games. Break Point  Lanes has been renovating, bit by bit for some time. We were happy to see the new carpeting!

Yowee! It's going to be wild on black-light Saturday nights! Fun!

Mark worked on his form today ...
and wow, look at that action! Damn, he burned a calorie! LOL
Actually, Marky had 4 strikes in a row! He wound up with a 223! Schweet!!!
Me? Oh well ... maybe next time. Haha.

On the way home from bowling, we stopped at Pet Supermarket and bought the doggies some rawhides. It isn't easy to buy 100% beef rawhides made in the USA! You think it would be easy, right? There are quite a few that say they are USA beef, but assembled in other countries. (Why?) Well, there was one package in that store; two 8" rawhides, for about $8 dollars with tax. Mark allowed BeeZee and Robbie about 20 minutes chew time, then took them away. They're intended to be just a treat.

RanDawn are coming for drinks at 5ish and then onto Stavros afterwards for dinner. We love eating there ... you always know what you're going to get ... good food at a fair price! And it's nice they all know us.

Dinner was great ... as usual, we had lots of laughs! Randy and Dawn make a great couple!

Now it's Scottie grooming and snuggle-buggle time. Ta Ta.

Boathouse Paint ... 5-14-16

Good morning from sunny Central Florida. It was a good start to our day ... the kids had their walk before it got too hot on the pavement. (That's our summer program, ha ha.)

Mark began painting Kilz on the boathouse (new) fence panels. There's still plenty to do in the boathouse before Mrs. R B arrives home, hopefully next week! We sure miss jumping in the boat for an afternoon ride. And, so do the Scotties. :-(

My hand and ankle have finally healed 100% and it's time to get crazy bowling again. Unfortunately, Dawn's elbow is still bothering her. I think she's going to need acupuncture to get over it. (But she's "skeerd!") Did I tell you she and Randy are in Tampa for the weekend? Randy is apparently scoping out tiki bars, while Dawn is updating her business license. (I don't miss attending those real estate courses and Mark doesn't miss updating his elevator constructor license either.)

Sue and Wayne are busy prepping for their cottage trip about the 20th. I wish we were traveling with them, but doctor appointments say otherwise this year. Oh well ... we'll get in the swing of things once we get to Canada ... sometime in June. We plan to be in Winnipeg for our friends Les and Lynne's 50th anniversary party! Whoo-hoo! That's a biggie! Their son and daughter-in-law are hosting at their home on Henderson Highway! They've been updating an early 1900s riverfront home and I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Diane phoned about 3:30. She and Kris are at The Villages house for the weekend ... so we made plans to meet at Ichiban for supper about 6 o'clock.

Back home by 8:30, we had a great visit and good dinner. Kris was terribly sore from working too hard. He could hardly walk after tiling a large room for friends of theirs. (Diane looked great!) They've been hectic at Georgia Boys with May being their busiest time of year!

Sue and Wayne went to dinner with friends Pat and Derek at Seawatch. It's been awhile since we've seen them!

So that's it for our day. Ta Ta.

Friday the 13th ... 2016

Ha ha. I loved Mad Magazine when I was a kid. Maybe I still do?

Well, it was a very warm start to our day with 90 forecast later. Mark walked the dogs early before the pavement got too hot while I tidied the kitchen and did a few chores.

I suggested bowling today but Mark's hands are aching. So, we decided it was going to be a laid-back attitude ... no schedule until 4:30's happy hour!

We invited Lew 'n Lynn for happy hour and put out lots of snacks 'n wine. It was fun to hear about their interest in a 2nd "summer property" near their grandkids in upstate New York. Afterwards, we decided on Stavros for dinner! It was great tonight.

Now at home, it's relaxing time with the kids in front of the TV. Like I said, a laid-back day. LOL

eBay ... 5/12/16

Good morning. I think it's going to be a very warm day. Mark left at 8:30 with Randy to work at Dawn's house again! There seems to be an end in sight, as Mark is now rolling the paint inside! Randy has the tougher job of cutting in. Oh well, I know they'll have some laughs today.

Randy's friend showed up for lunch today. Cute, eh?

Meanwhile, I have phone calls to make, photos to take, (for eBay listings) and donations for our Humane Society store.

After walking the dogs, individually, for my safety, I discovered it is lovely outside. Just 84° and cloudy! Who knew. LOL. I've been so busy inside both yesterday and today.

Mark and Randy came in at 4:30 ready for a cold one ... then Lew arrived with a glass of wine in hand. It had the makings of a party! We heard Dawn has a contract on her house ... IF all goes well, a June 30th closing! The buyer is utilizing a "first time buyer" program through the USDA.

We Googled it ... and it sounds like a good program. Here's hoping all goes well on her deal.

It was grooming night for BeeZee and Robs while we watched Nashville, Castle, Blacklist and Alone. Ta Ta.

Guadalajara Date Night - 5/11/16

Good morning from sunny and bright Central Florida. Mark went to help Randy at Dawn's house today while I handled the household chores. You know, the laundry, a little vacuuming, a little tidy up ... it just has to be done. LOL

Painting "Shoelace"on the walls at Dawn's.

I'm very happy with the art I just purchased from overstock.com ... especially, the large Betty Carr canvas art. I had a large wall portion to decorate after selling my grandfather clock. When Rick and Ruth were here this spring, they noticed the clock missing and the wall bare. Drat. So, Mark moved the doorbell chime box to the hall wall; we patched and painted then added two new items. The bright new painting came from overstock.com as I mentioned, and the hand-painted wine bottle holder came from ... hmm, I forget. LOL. As Mark says, lately it's been a box a day in the mail.

Whew! It's already 130, where has the day gone? Mark arrived home about 330 and took two packages to the post office for eBay shipping.

At 5:30 we had drinks with Pat and Ken then went for supper at Guadalajara.  They both enjoyed it, not having found a good Mexican restaurant in the area before. Unfortunately, the Mariachi band was not playing. Wa waaaa.  Tonight, I had the seafood fajita that Randy had raved about before! It was delicious! I would certainly have that again. Both Pat and Ken enjoyed their meals. Afterward, we went for wine at their house. They were dog sitting Kachina for Nancy and Thomas while he had surgery.

Mark was a magnet for Sadie and Zelda. They are both sweeties!

Mark and I had the once-over when we got home, having visited with three dogs. It was a fun evening, and we settled in to watch some telly with the kids. Ta Ta.

Game Day - 5/10/16

Good morning! It's an overcast one but still worthy of the front door open! First call of the day is to our vet's office for Robbie. Poor guy had a FLAREUP of his skin condition. (Mark thinks I may have caused it with Glade carpet cleaner!) Also, we quit giving him Claritin about a week ago as allergy season is over, we thought. Regardless, it's off to the vet for him and it was a sleepless night for me. Waa waaa.

I was busy listing a few things for sale on eBay when a sundress sold. Yay. Then, FedEx arrived with the painting I bought for our bedroom. Although it needs to be hung, here it is ...

Of course, this led to a game of "musical chairs" with paintings moving about. LOL

At 1 o'clock, I went to Elaine's for game day. There were 12 of us all yakking, drinking wine, eating lunch and carrying on ... and then the games began. Six played Scattergories (a thinking game) ... and 4 played 10,000. But Carin (below) wasn't into either game ... so I suggested we switch to Rummikube, which she liked.

While I was at game day, Mark and Robbie went to the vet. Our vet felt that Robbie's sores were caused by flea bites. Mark assured her that he had Frontline Plus on, but she said it's not very effective anymore. Poor Robs. They came home with antibiotics and a sample  of Nextgard. (Whew! It's expensive!) Let's see if it works before we order the supply.

Sue had a good game of bowling today ... in fact, the girls were on fire, as Sue said.

Here's Carol, picking up a spare. (We haven't been bowling as much as usual because Dawn has tennis elbow.)

Tomorrow, Mark is meeting Randy at Dawn's house for a half day of work. I am working on eBay listings again. Then tomorrow night, we were going to dinner with some friends from our neighborhood.

Ta Ta. It's TV & Scottie snuggle time.

Painting ... 5/9/16

Good morning. It's a bright beautiful sunshiny day and we're off to run errands.

First we checkled on Mrs. R B's progress at PAUL'S Marine. Everything's on order! Perhaps, next week it will be done.

Next, we stopped at Simplex and paid our boathouse repair bill, then it was onto Wally for a security camera ... that, too, was lost in the fire! I always have to giggle when the clerk at Walmart says "did you find everything you were looking for?" And I always have to say, yes and lots more! LOL.

We were home in time for lunch with the Scotties then re-organized and began painting. Two walls in the living room are being painted pale sage. Mark worked on the boathouse, cutting off the fence slats to the correct height, and then began painting them

About 3:30 Randy & Dawn stopped over on their way to a second showing on Dawn's house. Here's hoping ...

Then, we met them at Ichi Ban for a good feast! We caught up on TV shows we all watch but couldn't recall last week's Blacklist. Randy wondered if he slept through it. Dawn didn't remember what it was about. Mark tried refreshing them, but no luck. Afterward dinner we all came home to watch Blacklist. Maybe we'll remember ...

LOL. We watched the Blacklist that RanDawn missed ... then started on the one Mark 'n I missed ... then we all laughed when Dawn said WE SAW THAT RANDY! Haha. No wonder Mark's describing at the restaurant wasn't jiving with what Randy and Dawn had seen!!! We both missed seeing Blacklist one week, but different weeks. LOL. Mass confusion.

Now, Randy and Dawn have headed home on the motorcycle before the bugs are out. Mark and I sat down to watch the show that we missed. So Ta Ta til tomorrow.
