Good evening y’all. Somehow the days fly by at this time of year!

Last night was our HOA Christmas party held at Scottish Highlands community center. They were around 50 people there, most we knew from the neighborhood. It was a catered dinner, with very good food and a DJ with music. Overall it was a fun evening! (Lynn took pictures so maybe I can find one sometime later.)

Today was mostly catching up around the house and cooking another pot for the dogs, crock pet diet.  Today it was roast beef, and the house smells pretty good.

This afternoon we took a ride down to see Bob and Kim’s new bass boat. They bought it in Georgia and just got home with it. It’s beautiful, and I know they will enjoy it. While they were away, a letter arrived from the developer that we defeated last September. Now, it looks like the developer is appealing the decision with the county. The wording of the letter it’s a little confusing, so we will pass it onto the president and see if there’s an attorney that can review it.

That’s it for today, we’re going to watch some TV and relax this evening. Tomorrow is 🎳 … and Mark is bowling for Nancy, who is away on a cruise.

Friday, December 9, 2022

Good evening. It’s going on 6 o’clock here and of course it’s dark. We are still not used to this time change. Last night when we came home, one of Mark’s Christmas presents had arrived. I wanted him to open it as we planned on going bowling today.

Yup! Mark got a reactive asymmetrical core bowling ball. It’s all the rage, and it was time to retire his 1970s model that he bought at the Humane Society Thrift store 10 years ago for five dollars. πŸ˜‚ do you know, that ball that he is owned all those years and was obviously around 50 years old does not have any chips in it. My new ball, well, about 12 months old, got gouged severely today on Lane 13. I took it into the shop to see if it could be repaired, but they said no. It was garbage. The pro shop is going to ask the owner of the bowling alley if he will replace the ball for me. After all, it was their equipment failure that caused the damage to my bowling ball.  We shall see what happens. Meanwhile, my spare bowling ball was damaged as well but I was able to patch that so I could use it on Mondays league games.

We had a funny thing happen today, while waiting for our UPS man, Mike, to deliver a package. I had the dogs watching for him as we have his Christmas card and tip ready. Well, when the UPS truck pulled up, it wasn’t Mike at all, but a look-alike. I know, that sounds weird, but the guy was tall and lanky with the same color hair and a very similar walk. Anyway, Mark tried to sneak out the door just to grab the package and not let the dogs get out. Well, Robbie snuck out the door when Mark came back in with the package trotted down the driveway  and right up into the UPS truck. The surprise driver had to get him a biscuit and Mark had to go and retrieve him and carry him home. It was too funny. What a doggy.  πŸΎπŸ€£ Belize was a little miffed that she hasn’t followed as she missed out on the milk bone cookie.

I wonder what surprises Mark has in store for me for Christmas?

This evening, Mark had a nice fire going out on the stump of the sycamore tree we had cut down. It was beautiful, the full moon coming up and a lovely clear evening.

Cheers!

What a charming evening. I see from my friends posted. It is very very cold in Saskatchewan. I think at the moment, though that Manitoba has been spared. Let me know if it is otherwise. Tata for this evening.

Good afternoon. We arrived at 9:30 today to start a little project at the K’s house.  The first job of the day was to get into the attic and clean it out. Fun, bit dusty, then to sweep up the mess. There were a few odds ‘n ends strewn about that went in the trash.

Next project was using the chipping gun to get through the concrete wall to install new GFI outlets at the porches. It sounds simple … and getting set up is the worst of it. Keeping the dust to a minimum is a must.

Here’s the helpers …

is it lunchtime yet?

Of course no job is complete without a trip to Lowes!

The wall was solid concrete! Lots of noisy drilling. Hooking up the front porch outlet. Easy peasy for Mark!

More drilling …

And, an outlet for the Sunroom!  It’s a slow process …

We were tidied up and on the road by 3:41. A decent day’s work.

Back home, we had our dogs and then ran over to check on Nancy’s property and put out her trash for tomorrow to pick up. I hope she’s enjoying that fabulous cruise in Europe.

Wednesday, December 7, 2022

Good evening. It’s been a busy day, as it always seems to be here in central Florida.  It’s a balmy 79° at 5 o’clock this evening. We are on our way to LaDonna and Wayne’s for dinner along with Robbie and BeeZee . It’s so nice, they are always invited to auntie and uncle’s house.

It was dentist morning. Another dentist at Dr Pruett’s office said I would have to have two crowns done in order to get to the one that had decay under it. Well, I knew Dr Pruett could work his magic. He never fails, and is such a wonderful dentist. Anyway, within 20 minutes he had the old crown off, worked on it and then it took his assistant about 45 minutes to shape and fashion a temporary for me. No fuss, no muss, but I did come home with a bit of a puffy cheek. If that’s the worst, no big deal. Then, this afternoon, we went and got our Covid booster shots. Although we had to wait at Walgreens because they cannot get my insurance approved quickly. When I called EXPRESS SCRIPTS, they quickly told me that it had already gone through and there must’ve been a glitch at the Walgreens computer. So, that done we got our boosters. Now tonight we are off to have some fun and eat some Stavros dinner at  Wayne and LaDonna’s. I know it will be followed with cigars on the front porch. They are such wonderful friends.

Tonight, Sue and Wayne are on their way to Carol and Jack’s to have dinner at their condo. Their doggies have been left at home in the RV.

Carol, Jack and Wayne at their festively decorated condo.

Our outside cameras have caught sight of a couple of raccoon tails jumping the fence. Well, we didn’t bother them until they pooped on the boat. Then, it was war. L O L.  Mark bought a live trap and caught Mr. raccoon, quite a big guy! He took him to find a new home in the Ocala forest.

On Monday when Mark went to the forest with Wayne, they saw mainly raccoons. So this fella will have lots of company there.

We were back home by 10 o’clock, with a couple of very tired doggies. LaDonna and Wayne had bought Robbie, some special peanut butter and apple biscuits, and a little cookie jar to keep them in. BeeZee grab the cute toy and had a fun time playing with it. We sat on the front porch and enjoy the Christmas lights and some music. It was a really nice evening.

Tuesday, December 6, 2022

Good evening y’all. Mark had a morning in the Ocala forest with friend Wayno. Bob was grounded … having an irritation system installed at their home.

Me? The 2nd batch of Christmas cards arrived from the printer so I had more writing to do … 25 more. πŸŽ„ Ho ho … no more. πŸ€ͺ

By the time Mark arrived back home I had everything ready for the post office. Yay! The Scotties Rock Foundation chooses a few “Scottie people” to assist during the holidays. We chose a Pensacola Beach lady and her two Scotties and got a parcel off to her too. It’s all a surprise to the recipients. Secret Santa πŸŽ…πŸΌ

This afternoon I wrapped packages for Matt, Tiffany and girls. (They’ve taken in a friend of their girls who needed a place to live.) So, more fun shopping. πŸŽ…πŸΌ

Tonight we sat on the front porch while the Scotties enjoyed chewing bully sticks and Mark smoked a cigar. It’s a beautiful night.

Sue & Wayne had an exciting breakfast today. Mimi grabbed an oatmeal raisin muffin and swallowed most of it.. It was off to the vet to induce vomiting. Fortunately Mimi will be fine … $220 later.

When they went to lunch, I said well, at least the lunch will be cheaper than your breakfast was. πŸ˜‚ Sue had the same thing happen eating tuna that I did. She found a large, sharp bone in her tuna melt. What the heck!!! We’re both off tuna now!!

Well, that’s it for tonight. Ta ta.

Monday, December 5, 2022

Good evening! It was a gorgeous day here in Central Florida. (Neither of us like the darkness so early though! Wish our State was on DST year round!)

Mark bowled today for my teammate Nancy who is on the way to Germany and a Viking cruise! Nice trip. We had a good afternoon and won two out of three games.

I see my score was 168 πŸ₯³

Sue and Wayne are in South Florida having dinner tonight with Pat and Derek at Bella Roma. Penne ala Vodka is my favorite there. πŸ˜‹

Watching some telly tonight … Yellowstone and into season 4. Hope we’ll find where to see the newest season. It’s very good.

Sunday, December 4, 2022

It’s been a bit busy around here. December 1st was YaYa’s with 15 of us for specialty drinks and dinner. We had a Chinese auction for gifts, and it was a blast.

Friday was a cleanup and Christmas shopping day! I’m done! Literally. πŸ€ͺ Both Mark and I were worn down to a nub. πŸ˜‚

Saturday, we went bowling in the afternoon. For me, it was the worst.  πŸ˜³πŸŽ³ First throw I broke a nail … 2nd throw I stepped over the foul line … πŸ”” rang and lights flashed. πŸ˜‚ Then for the entire first game I was dropping my ball before the foul line. Yikes. And that’s how all 3 games went. Mark had a lower than usual score on his first and second games, but picked up very well on the third.

Today, Sunday, there was no wind, and we took the boat out for a two hour cruise down the Dead River, and on to Lake Harris. Gorgeous.

BeeZee sat beside Mark and Robbing with me. This change of diet has Robs being much more social. He has a big birthday coming up December 16th 🐾❤️πŸ₯³πŸŽ‚

We’ve been binge watching Yellowstone … very good series.

That’s it for now.
