Good morning y’all. It’s another day to watch the Trump train wreck unfold. Impeachment must be done to prevent this traitor from running again. 

Mark and Wayne were out fishing last night and heard gunfire around the lake. Was it angry protesters? Our new President has work to do to restore faith in America. The grand old party of republicans is finished. They failed the American people miserably. Impeachment should have happened two years ago. 

On a personal level, our neighbor Lynn is displaying her Trump 2020 sign on her front lawn. When I asked her why it was still there (before Christmas) she said ‘because it’s not over yet.”  We’ve been neighbors for 18 years ... and friends. What now that I see her in another light? (After I wrote this she finally took the sign down!)

So, tonight was our by monthly get together with a few of the neighbors. This time, it was at Lynn ‘s, outside by her fire box. Mark took over the wood, got the fire started and Lynn had chairs set up around. Rose, Jim, Markymark, Lani, Pat and Ken were there as well. Rose brought up the coup attempt yesterday at the capital building and Lynn snapped. Seriously, she snapped. She yelled that we don’t talk about politics in this group. I think it’s going to be a good thing that she moves to another neighborhood. Things have changed drastically with her mental state. No one stayed any more than an hour and Mark and I were left to watch the fire and help tidy up. 🙄

Well, this gorgeous sunny day went to hell in a handbasket didn’t it? I’m speechless. We all knew this was coming of course, because Trump is a traitor. 

Mark and Wayne have gone fishing this afternoon and LaDonna is coming over after her doctors appointment. We are going to hang out and eat pizza and drink wine. It’s the best we can do on this crazy day.

Time will tell what unfolds today. Ta ta till tomorrow.

Good afternoon. Both Mark and I had dental appointments today. Mine was at 8:50, and I had two crowns done on the lower front of my mouth! Youch. It was a long appointment with some sort of plastic to hold my jaw open; grueling it was. Anyway, I’m happy to have temporary crowns on an an appointment to go in three weeks for the permanent one.

Mark finished up his crown, and had the permanent one cemented on.

Back on the homefront, we both had a rest this afternoon and then I finished my happy owl art project. This entire page is done in watercolor and was tons of fun. Watercolor is very new to me, and I really was afraid of trying it.

So Mark and I have been watching a show called “Lilyhammer” on Netflix, and it’s pretty funny. It’s only two seasons long but we hope it will be continued. Mark has been icing his knee as he seems to have twisted it sometime in the last few days and it has been bothering him. It’s now 11 o’clock and it’s just Ms. B and me. The boys have gone to bed already.

Good afternoon. I was up at six and working on my first official painting in the art course. I certainly could’ve spent more time on it, but there’s already another lesson sent to me. Giddyup. Ha ha ha ha.

Here it is…

So here’s the story about the project. The heart lesson was called “lightness of spirit.” This young lady has a crown of natural leaves trimmed in gold. She is a warrior of goodness. Well, at least this is my take on the instructions. She has her compass and her pet Raven. 

By the time I finished this Mark had already taken the dogs for a long golf cart ride and headed off to Lowe’s for some concrete to work on his seawall project. I have a few minutes to start the blog, sit with the doggies and watch the next video for my 3rd art project. It is fun. I’m enjoying it.

After dinner, we went to KimBob’s for drinks on their lanai. It was pretty chilly and we were home by 10 o’clock. We’re going to have an overnight low in the 40s. Anyway, it was the first time we’ve had a chance to be with them since early December. It was lots of fun to catch up.

Good evening. We started with a little rain this morning here in Central Florida but by noon it was sunny and beautiful with a high in the low 70s. Yes, another cold front has come through.

This is my cheery little picture that starts out the art course for this year. No, it’s nothing like the instructor did, but that’s the point. You have to develop your own style as you go along. There were more things I wanted to do on this but I had to get onto the next painting before we get another lesson tomorrow. Busy busy! The second painting is on the easel now, needing another two or three hours before it’s finished.

Mark did a great job today by cleaning our mailbox and painting the flag red. It came out looking like new after a little car polish. Good deal. 

We walked the doggies tonight and Pat came out to say hello. They were unable to get their vaccines thus far and have decided, like us, to wait a couple of weeks until things quiet down.

Now, it’s front porch sitting while Mark has a cigar and the dogs watch for birds, squirrels or whatever. Happy days. 

The lantern from Bonnie & Roger at Christmas is on the porch table. It’s so sweet.

Good afternoon. It’s been puttering around day in the sunshine. The weather is absolutely fantastic. Mark took the Dodge for a drive and went to Home Depot to pick up some wood for the project at the waterfront.

 

Mark added a seat, were you see the fresh wood, for sitting and fishing. Behind that will be concrete and gravel, shoring  up the seawall. It’s been a long project, doing a bit here and there. It certainly looks a lot better than it used to.

Here he’s building a handrail for me, coming up from the boathouse to that dock. It’s coming along very nicely.

I started working on the art course today ... it’s good; plenty to do. It’ll keep me occupied. 😂 Maybe I’ll have something to post tomorrow.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2021

Good morning. Happy new year one and all. We are all happy 2020 is behind us. And now, hope for this year to be one of vaccines and healing.

My art course starts today, and I am a little excited about it. Last night, Markymark and Lani gave me some books, old books from their art teacher neighbor in Canada. They only know him as Ron. These are wonderful old books, filled with pictures from the 1950s ... which is right in tune with their decor. I imagine I will have to paint them a few pictures based on it. Anyway, they are fantastic books; a timely gift that I shall treasure. 

My artsy fartsy friend LaDonna is getting into oil painting this year! I painted with oils in the 1990s and have several expensive natural hair brushes to give to her. I’m not using them, so in the spirit of the new year I shall pass them along! 

We are just home from an evening at LaDonna and Wayne‘s having a traditional southern New Year’s Day dinner. It consisted of corn bread, pork rice and black-eyed peas, mustard greens and lemon bars! It was a first for us, and pretty darn good. The mustard greens tasted rather like iron to me, but everyone else enjoyed them. We sat outside on their front porch and enjoyed the 73° and the sound of their beautiful wind chimes. It was a really nice evening.
