Good morning. We are up early and ready to take Robbie to Maitland to get his eye test done. He has had a recurring goop in his eye for a while, probably allergies, but best to have it checked.

Well ... we’re waiting while Robbie gets his left eye tear duct flushed. Poor guy. If that’s not blocked then it may be allergy or poor tear quality. 🤷‍♀️ $95 extra should give us a clue.

Robbie’s eyes look good, left eye tear duct was partially plugged so doc flushed it out and we have anti-inflammatory drops to give him for 5 days. Hopefully that’s all he will need. $338 and a nice hour’s drive. 😍 Schweeeet. 💕🐾

On the way home, we stopped at ABC liquors for some cigars and champagne. Necessities we say.

Back home Mark puttered about outside while I ‘fixed’ a nasty looking boat seat. That dang mildew was back so ... acrylic stain blocker and 2 coats of acrylic paint! Yeah, it’s flexible and doesn’t rub or flake off. Instead of white, it’s taupe! Take that mildew!!!

1 done ... many to go!

Monday, January 6, 2020

Good morning. It’s a chilly start to our day with temperatures in the 50’s. However, the sun is out and it will be up into the 70s later today. Everyone slept well last night!

Mark’s first job of the day was to test our well water. Now, we have to run the bottles into the government lab near Randy & Dawn’s place.

Our next task is to scrub and stain-block (acrylic paint) the captain’s seat. After that cures I’ll paint it with Behr Marquee acrylic. When I did the seats with craft acrylic paint, nothing flaked off and the seats remained flexible. Unfortunately, stains appeared through the vinyl! This is last chance for the boat seats ... so we’re changing the color as well. They were two-tone white and tan; now I’m painting them just tan!

Mark and Lew began whittling away at our sad Sycamore tree. I’m trying not to think about losing it, but it’s inevitable. 😢 We’ve tried to save it ... but no luck.

After a delish dinner of Omaha Chicken fried Steak, baked beans and Brussel sprouts we settled in to relax with a cheery fire! And Ancient Aliens is on Netflix. 👽

Tonight we ran outside to see the best night launch we’ve ever seen from our front door.

It was amazing ... a nice clear night.

Tomorrow, we have a busy day! Ta ta.

Sunday, January 5, 2020

Hey there ... how’re your 2020 resolutions holding? Me, good ... 1500 calories a day and yes Rick M that does include wine 😜.

Mark, Bob, Lew and Benn went for the last day of deer hunting about 515 this morning. It was in the 40s, so they were bundled up! They saw a few ... Mark - 4, Lew - 2. They had a fun outing and were home about noon.

The Scotties and I had a busy morning with laundry and tidying up the house. By the time Mark came home I was working on my art project and the kids were having a rawhide chew. 🥰

Tonight we’re meeting LaDonna, Wayne, Dawn and Randy for Mexican food tonight. (It’s Dawn’s favorite!)

Well we had a good dinner and lots of fun at Del Sol Mexico ... but I didn’t get a picture! Drat. So, this will have to be ...

Saturday, January 4, 2020

Good morning. We have rain in the forecast which will move through rather quickly with winds to 30 miles an hour. Mark has decided we will go shopping for a well pressure pump. Ours developed a leak last month and we have been nursing it through. Now, it’s time to get down to brass tacks and get the job done already. The plumber wanted $600 to do the job, so let’s see what we can save with Mark’s 🥰  multi-abilities. (He can build an elevator from scratch, so I’m sure a well pump won’t be an issue!) 😜

Sue and Wayne are out for breakfast with Mimi and Chiki at Galuppi’s! Nice treat for the wee-monkeys!

Mimi sporting a new pink gingham ‘n lace halter ...

Very pretty indeed ... a real K dog now!

Mark heard the tornado siren and we gathered the kids and went into our safe(r) room. Actually the warning was due east of us on our NOAA weather app so we’re back to normal this rainy morning. The front is moving fast ...

Robbie sporting a handlebar moustache for Mimi! 🥰

Mark researched tanks and we headed to Home Depot. Of course the one he picked wasn’t in stock; only available to order online. 😡 So ... an extra $120 and we’re home with a tank. Now comes the fun part.

Haha!

Friday, January 3, 2020

Good afternoon. I’m pretty late starting the blog today. Mark puttered around the house getting a lot of odds and ends done. I did laundry and then painted for a while. Tonight, we are going to Karen & Pete’s for wine and then onto Rodello‘s in Leesburg for Italian dinner. We haven’t been there before but K & P love it!

Ha! I found this on my easel ...

Mark discovered a Christmas present that he forgot to wrap for me. It was super-duper getting a cute glass Scottie dog ornament! ❤️ Thanks Sweetie.

At Karen & Pete’s home we began New Year’s toasts with a bottle of Victoria champagne ... delicious. 🥂 There was plenty of conversation as we hadn’t seen each other for more than 2 weeks.

Here we are ...

Me thinks I need a trim! Yikes, I’m all hair. 😂

The restaurant has a lovely feel to it, nicely furnished and spacious. Mark loved the Chicken Marsala ... Karen had Veal Parmigiana and Pete had Meatballs and Penne with a side of sausage and I had Penne ala Vodka. It was all very good. We’d go there again! Pete pointed out where The Villages is expanding to. Welcome to Leesburg you village people!

Circa 1978 😜

Tomorrow, rain is in our forecast 🤷‍♀️

Thursday, January 2, 2020

Good morning. It’s going to be a chamber of commerce type day here in Central Florida. 80°F is forecast for us this afternoon. Schweeet.

Mark trimmed Marky-Mark’s big Magnolia tree and hauled the trimmings to the dump! Me? I finished up 2019 books and gathered the paperwork for tax time. I think this is the earliest I’ve been organized! Wowsa.

LaDonna & Wayne gave us a wifi extender they weren’t using and I got that programmed and working tonight. 👍🏻 We’ll eventually add another camera for the boathouse area.

January 1st, 2020

Good afternoon y’all. It’s the start of a new year! It’s a laidback kinda day after the fun party night.

Mark and I took the Scotties for a ride on The Caddy and stopped at a neighbor’s garage sale. We didn’t buy anything! Their young Great Dane was bounding around until BeeZee’s bark scared her! It was so funny to see.

I phoned Diane to ask how her doctor appointment went and we wound up talking for over an hour. She and Kris are going to Panama for a vacation in February.

Lew and Lynn popped over to return Dawn’s purse and  gloves plus the chairs we loaned for the party! Otherwise, it was a quiet evening.
