Sunday, November 3, 2019

Good morning. It’s a bright beautiful sunshiny Florida morning. and, there’s no place like home. 😎

Mark has the rig to wash today while I clean the inside and do the week’s laundry, repack and reload the rig.

Then, later today, Karen and Pete are coming for happy hour at 4 o’clock ... later we’re meeting Randy & Dawn for dinner.

Randy & Dawn will be celebrating their third anniversary on November 9. They leave for a week trip on Monday.

We had a really fun evening catching up with Karen and Pete. At 5:30 we met Randy & Dawn at Stavros and Connor was our server!

We had lots of laughs ... and Connor took the picture for us. 😜 Dinner at Stavros is always spot on ... delicious and served hot! πŸ‘πŸ»

Randy and Dawn had to head straight home after dinner to do some packing. Karen & Pete came in for a nightcap of Amaretto ... we’ll see them Wednesday at the Rally.

Saturday, November 2, 2019

Good morning. Well, this KOA holiday campground is a bit noisy at night. If it’s not a train, it’s trucks thumping over bumps along I 95. It’s a great place, so just make sure you have a sound machine to get a good night’s sleep. We have one, so we listen ed to the ocean waves. Ha ha.

It’s nice to know we have been missed during our little trip away. Randy & Dawn and Karen & Pete want to meet for dinner. Karen & Pete asked for tonight, but we’ve moved them to Sunday night along with Randy & Dawn. Mark thought we would be a little too tired and disheveled to go out for dinner tonight. ... privately I agree, but I’m always up for a party. πŸ˜‰

We couldn’t get a full hook up site here at Point South in Yemassee SC for last night, so, we’ve had to pull up to the dump station to empty before getting on the highway. Now that I’m sitting right next to the office I can finally get on the Wi-Fi. For $67 dollars a night, we’re not impressed. They have many extras here but let’s spend some money on the Wi-Fi system. That’s what all the RV years use.

The Mermaid Cafe is cute ... there’s a waterfall beside the statue.

We’re making tracks ...

Smooth cruising ... stopping at Love’s for fuel in Brunswick.

We got home safe and sound at 3:30 ... busy busy. More tomorrow!

ALL SAINTS DAY 2019

Good morning from Frosty Maggie Valley. It went down to 28° overnight, of course we were toasty warm, but we are waiting for the temp to rise up a little before we bring the slides in and get on the road. We will start our trek back to Florida today.

Happy birthday to dear Sue! We know she’s attending a resort wear fashion show today, so I wonder what resort she’s going to have to fly to (Or cruise) in order to enjoy the new clothes. Ha ha.

Sue (dog sitter,) Below Deck cast member, Kelly and Sue

We left Creekwood at 10:15 heading for an overnight somewhere on I-95. Since it’s 611 miles we’ll drive it in 2 days. No hurry. At 1 o’clock we stop for fuel, just to top off, and to walk the dogs. It’s 56° here in Newberry South Carolina.

We arrived at a lovely KOA Yemassee at 3;30. It’s one of KOA’s Holiday parks so plenty to do if you want. There’s a wine tasting of 8 different for $7.50 plus a pizza slice.

The wifi here is awful ... so that’s it for tonight. 😜

HALLOWED EVENING 2019

Happy Hallowe’en from Maggie Valley! It’s going to be 40 degrees tonite as trick or treaters make their rounds through the farm. There’s a deep freeze coming tonight, our last before heading home to Florida!

After getting our rig tidied up for tomorrow’s travels, we treated ourselves to lunch at the Sweet Onion in downtown Waynesville. It is a unique restaurant, very comfortable. The food portions were generous and delicious!  The sweet onion soup was amazing.

We could only imagine how it would be with the doors flung open on a nice day!

Cheers! I had a Hendrick Flower cocktail made with Hendrick’s gin, St. Germain liquor and lime juice. It’s similar to a Margarita. Mark liked the metal artwork on the booths ... and the craft beer.

What a take! Fried catfish sandwich ... delish. (I had an open face roast beef sandwich with gravy.) πŸ˜‹

Back at the RV, Mark prepped outside for a potential freeze while I got our pumpkin ready to carve. Of course the Sharpie gave out before I was done drawing.

Nevermind my design ... Mark the Ripper to the rescue! 😜

We have a handsome Jack’O’Lantern and plenty of chocolate bars for the wee goblins ... it’s going to be epic. πŸ‘»  Later ... well WE sat out with our pumpkin lit and a big bowl of candy but no one came. Oh well, we had fun!

Maybe it was just too cold for the wee ones. Hope your Halloween was a good one! Brrr ... it’s time to warm up inside and watch OITNB.

Wednesday October 30, 2019

Good morning y’all. We’re having an ‘at home’ day here at the RV with misty rain moving in. (As you probably know, I love rainy days!)

Mark is starting the slow pack up outside as we are probably done with barbecuing for now. The chicken wings he made yesterday were fantastic. They were habanero and peach with sweet baby rays sauce added. We’ll be cooking those again in the future.

Here’s the art we bought in Waynesville ... the perfect size and colors for our tropical bedroom in the RV.

So this is our official 25th anniversary purchase. (We also bought ROKU and a KING wifi booster and installed it.)

Tonight we’re making the trek to Asheville and have dinner with Paula, Jeremy, Kim, Jonathan, Savannah and Marshall and their two children Fallon and Austin.

We had a great time and a good dinner. Thank you Paula and Jeremy for arranging it and treating everyone! We sure enjoyed seeing y’all. Sorry to miss Olivia who worked til 8:30. (It was a rough drive back to the RV (27 miles) in torrential rain. No lights on the highway here.) The dogs were happy to get their walk ... then Robbie went to bed! πŸΎπŸ’•

Tuesday, October 29, 2019

Good foggy morning y’all. Other than a bit of grocery shopping we’re puttering about the RV park today! πŸ‘πŸ»
It’s time to catch ya up on other news.

Sue’s birthday is November 1st ... and she got a new Caddy! Now that’s a pressie!

It’s a big change for Sue ... she usually has white vehicles! 😍 Best of luck ... and enjoy it Sue.

It’s laundry day here! After getting the wash started we walked the dogs around to the creek and then over to see the chickens.

They’re are 8 hens and 1 rooster.

Later we took a drive to Western Waynesville and found a beautiful shopping area with a Michael’s, Sally’s and Wally. It’s a brand-new center. When we came back to the RV we booked next August 23rd through September 6th. It’ll be a great spot to cool down and relax before heading home from Canada!

Mark cooked chicken wings and corn on the cob on the grill tonight. After that delicious dinner we sat outside and enjoy the fire until 930. Tomorrow, rain is expected by noon.

Two snuggle-bugs enjoying the great outdoors. πŸΎπŸ’•

Sunday, October 28, 2019

Good morning! It’s a foggy start to this mountain area. Our plan today is a picnic lunch and drive on the Blue Ridge parkway with the kids. If the fog doesn’t clear we’ll go shopping in Waynesville. Always have a Plan B. Always. (The fog lifted and it was all clear by 11 o’clock!)

After lunch, we went to downtown Waynesville, secured a parking spot and walked up and down the corridor. it was very busy considering it’s a Monday. We bought a painting for our RV bedroom. πŸ₯° There’s a dog bakery downtown where you can buy cookies bulk. I got cheddar bites for them this time, a whole bag!

When we got home about 3:30, the dogs enjoyed their new snacks. Paula called and we’ll be able to meet for dinner on Wednesday! 😍

Just a roadside beauty!

This bear carving marks Bear Park within the Creekwood RV park.

Happy hour was spent sitting at the creek with the dogs. It was such a beautiful afternoon with just a light breeze. There were a few trout fisherman along the shoreline.

Tonight was ribeye steaks on the Barbie. Yum. We’re going to relax now and just chill out.
