Good morning ☀️ ... I was up early to bake my triple chocolate cake for tonight’s YaYa’s. Rose is hosting. We’re inviting some newbies in the ‘hood to join us; fun times.

Mark slept in a little today while I was in the kitchen. It keeps us busy prepping food for the dogs meals. This morning I made them baked potatoes with olive oil, mixed vegetables and Mark is cooking them a big batch of turkey! They sure are excited about meal times now!

Mark’s gone to Marky-Mark‘s to load garbage cans for tomorrow’s pick up. It’s a good thing they use an automatic lifter as these are going to be some beastly heavy cans! 😳

Looking back, I thought that I had posted several pictures from the dog swimming adventure earlier this week. Apparently I didn’t, so here are a couple of fun ones! BTW The pool water tested good, and we shocked it after our swim. Hopefully that will get rid of the greenish tinge. The pool company said we have it under control, πŸ€” just need to put in FOUR bags of shock AFTER our swim and then 2 bags once a week thereafter. In other words, ignore the greenish shade 😳 the pool water πŸ’¦ is safe to swim in. 😎

Robbie had his lessons and sat in the water on the steps for an hour! BeeZee was more adventurous once she figured it all out. We had so much fun. Thank you Marky-Mark and Lani for designating this as a dog friendly pool. πŸΎπŸ’•πŸ‘πŸ»

It’s 5 o’clock and raining 🌧 like the dickens. 😜

Back home, it’s 930. I sat with Mark and Jim on the front porch enjoying the rain, conversation, cigars and whiskey πŸ₯ƒ. They had been to the Crazy Gator and sat outside for dinner. It rained hard, and cooled off nicely. Meanwhile, we girls were sitting outside at Rose’s enjoying the rain, drinks and conversation. It was a really nice evening. At Yaya‘s, there were 12 of us ... perfect fun.

Jim was happy to have some doggy time as he and Rose lost their Yorkie about a month ago to lung disease at age 16. Jazzy was missed tonight by us girls too. 😒

Sue and Wayne took a ride to get flowers today for their hanging planters.

I’m sure we’ll
get a picture once they are up and hanging around the cottage screened room.

Ta Ta TIL tomorrow. It’s hockey time! 😜

Wednesday, June 6, 2018

Good evening. It’s been one of those crazy days! Mark was up at 5 AM and took the kids for a walk ahead of a large thunderstorm. (I never heard a thing!)

We had a sale on eBay yesterday so on the way to Home Depot Mark stopped at the post office and shipped the package. I began creating a few new things and working on eBay today. It was a perfect day for that.

Randy popped in about 330 to trade vehicles as he has to take his lawnmower in for service. Apparently he ran the tire down to absolutely nothing thinking they were lifetime tires on lawnmowers. That gave Mark a good laugh. We were all happy to have a visit. Of course Dawn is at work today! They have decided to go to Pompano Thursday night as they made an appointment with Sue’s miracle chiropractor on Friday. Both Randy and Dawn have been having “joint?” issues.

Today is not as fun as yesterday. Our icemaker jammed up and the device got stuck and ice was refrozen in the hopper. πŸ€” WTF?

It’s now Wine:30 while the ice maker thaws!

That’s it. More tomorrow.

Good morning 🌞 ... life is good! Our lawn service just completed their work ... the sun is shining and our frypan full of sizzling πŸ₯“ πŸ˜‹.

We’re taking a drive to Pinch-a-Penny for a recheck on Marky-Mark’s pool water πŸ’¦ and if it’s all good ... Robbie and BeeZee will be swimming with their new swimmies! Hedz Up makes a different style of life preserver that makes more sense to me than the vest style. Just like the child style that holds the head up even if unconscious, Hedz Up does that for dogs. Pictures to follow ... we’ll see how they work for sinkers like our Scotties.

For starters, both kids were okay with getting treats for trying on the collars last night! Today, they willingly let me put them on! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ’¦

Then, we walked over to Marky-Mark’s pool ...

Mz BeeZee liked the experience and swam from the steps to Mark several times. The Hedz Up ring kept her head up and she had no fear. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸΎ Robbie went with Mark, swam back to the steps (grunting like a piggy) and happily sat on the steps for an hour! Amazing. Although the pool looks cloudy, it tested fine at Pinch-a-Penny ... and we shocked it after our swim as prescribed. Actually this huge pool needed 4 bags of shock then 2 bags weekly. Easy peasy.

What a lovely afternoon we had; 91F with a bit of a breeze and some shade at the pool. 😎 The Scotties we’re so good and loved romping around with their big collars on. Great invention! They’ll wear them on the boat too!

Monday, June 4, 2018

Good morning. After breakfast, I cooked up a couple of baking potatoes and mixed vegetables for the doggies to go with ground beef tonight while Mark took a big load of brush from Marky-Mark’s project house to the dump. After that, he is picking up ingredients for pizza on the Pizzazz as Randy, Dawn and Makenna are coming to play Mexican dominoes.

It was a hot afternoon reaching 91F ... we heard rumbles of thunder but no rain. So we just enjoyed a relaxing time.

Dawn and Makenna had their hair done today ... and are now on their way over for supper.

Beautiful ❤️ Lovely haircut. (Can you see Dawn in the background? How is this reflection working?)

We had a blast playing Mexican Dominoes while eating the pizzas Mark was creating. RanDawn brought a cake for dessert ... we didn’t know it’s Makenna’s 9th birthday on Thursday and that we were celebrating today! Drat.

Wow! Imagine being 9 and the things you’ll see and do in this world!

Randy was the big winner tonight! So we drank wine and beer and ate cake. A perfect evening! ❤️

Great timing for the following thought ...

Sunday, June 3, 2018

Good morning y’all ... happy Sunday! It’s forecast to be a hot 90 according to “the news.” (It’s 80 already at 8:30) Perhaps a good swimming pool afternoon?

It’s official, Christine (Pam’s daughter) is engaged to Chase Foy! πŸ₯‚πŸΎ He popped the question during their vacay in Hawaii.

Congratulations! (Love your matchy-matchy duds!) You’re a perfect match. πŸ‘πŸ»

Mark puttered about a few hours at the project while I handled the house chores. A thunderstorm rolled in at noon as forecast and it cooled down nicely. When Mark finished his job we sat on the front porch with the doggies. Lovely.

This rainy spring has played havoc around the country. We have plans to stay at Wilson’s Riverfront RV park (French Broad river) in August ... it’s flooded now though. 😳

Hopefully the place will be recovered by then! (Of course we booked a river front site!)

Well, surprise surprise, Oakwood Smokehouse closed at 3 o’clock on Sunday. What the heck is with that? So, we went to Gator‘s Dockside for a light dinner.  As it turned out, everything we ordered was spicy hot. I predict many Tums before bedtime. Ha ha. Makenna ordered from the kids menu and had barbecue wings which apparently were very good. We’ve invited them tomorrow to play Mexican dominoes and if the weather is good to have a swim in the pool.

The friendly alligator at Gator’s Dockside. Ha! Makenna is such fun.

Candy wasn’t easy to pickup with the claw!

But ... Randy got 2 pieces in one try! πŸ‘πŸ»

On the way home we needed a birthday card for Shay and some hose clamps for one of Mark’s projects.  It was a fun evening.

Saturday, June 2, 2018

Good afternoon! Crikey! We slept til 8:30 when Robbie and BeeZee came to wake us.

There’s a new Tawns on the planet born to James and Anita ...

How exciting! I’m sure Jack will be an adventurous lad. πŸ₯‚πŸΎ Cheers to good health!

After a breakfast of bacon and eggs with broccoli we started on projects. Mark had a minor repair on the RV, a hose on the outside sprayer while I began painting Marky-Mark’s yard statuary which was retrieved from the pool in April.

Bald Eagle ................ Florida Brown Pelican

Randy phoned and we made tentative plans for dinner Sunday night when Dawn’s off work. Oakwood’s has a $11.99 rib special on during June! πŸ˜‹

The kids and I took a ride on The Caddy about the ‘hood and enjoyed the breeze. It was odd, 74 degrees that jumped to 90 after a rainstorm. πŸ€” We’ve had an influx of odd looking spiders that fold up on the screens. We don’t use poisons so Mark rigged up the shop vacuum and went to town sucking them up. Ha!

Cool eh!

It’s now 9 o’clock and it hockey playoffs and a glass of wine πŸ·πŸ‘πŸ»

Friday, June 1, 2018

Good morning from cloudy Central Florida! Mark is outside washing the car while I tidy and re-organize the living room. No, the furniture is not being moved, but if you other things. Ha ha.

Sue and Wayne are having a problem with a fox killing bunnies at the cottage. We understand it is mother nature, but it sure hurts to see it when you love the animals. The fox looks very well fed!

Later today, Karen and Pete are coming for drinks and then we’re going to Crazy Gators with them for dinner. There lots of fun, and we will see them later this month at Lion Country Safari for a GRW camp out.

Pete & Karen at the Crazy Gator with us.

After dinner, we walked around the Eustis street party and stopped for a drink at Uncorked. The singer was great; Karen got his card for a campout. Nice.

A sunset pic ... but I think the sun is nearly down. Ha ha ... we had a fun time; lots of laughs with these two.

Ta Ta til tomorrow.
