Good (early) morning. Yes, I was up at 5 AM watching ancient aliens about the extinction (or extermination?) of dinosaurs. Why are humanoid footprints found (all over the world) in the same strata as dinosaurs? We've been "taught" that Dino died out 350 million years ago. Now we know homo-sapiens have been on this planet for 450,000 years, according to the Annanuki, and 395,000 according to National Geographic. So, either humans are way older or dinosaurs are way younger, but either way, we walked side-by-side on planet earth with the dinosaurs! 

How's your morning coffee tasting after that info? 🤔

 

 

It's been an on/off rainy day ... cooler than last month, so I guess that's good for the electric bill. Mark worked on the RV undercarriage barrier today. It needed resecuring in places, especially after the axle repair a year ago. It was a perfect day for that.

Sue and Wayne have son Ron working at Chippy's Hollow replacing the front deck. 

 

We're looking forward to being there in July. 

At 4:30 we had a good break in the rain and I took the doggies for a ride on the Caddy. Actually, that might have been the end of the rain for today. I noticed Pat and Ken are back from their Delray Beach trip. Apparently it was torrential rain for days and they decided they'd be happier at home.

Good evening! Both Mark and I slept in until 845 this morning. Even the Scotties were sound asleep. It must've been a lack of sunshine. After a scrambled egg and steak breakfast, we went shopping for a few items. I found a bargain and bought 10 new lime green wine glasses. Woo hoo. Just what this house needs! 😜

 

Randy stopped in for coffee and a sliver of chocolate cake after golfing. We settled our plans for meeting up in Winnipeg for Taylor's graduation party. We will also visit Jim, perhaps at Seven Oaks Hospital, or maybe he will be home by then. We have no established time to meet with Darlene and Crystal as yet. We will make plans once we get there to have dinner with them.

Dawn and Randy called at 5 o'clock to make plans for granddaughter Makenna's birthday party Saturday. It is to be at a Japanese restaurant in Mount Dora. Mark looked at the menu but could not see Mac and cheese on there. (Octopus, squid and eel popped out from the menu.) Ha ha. (Update ... IchiBan is now the restaurant of choice.) I will make a birthday cake for family.

There was no ride on the Caddy today as we had torrential downpours, twice. Never mind, we need the rain, and lots of it. Pat and Ken are in South Florida for a week, and the rain has been torrential there!

Wayne and Sue got a new hutch for their cottage. Wayne picked it up today and it looks in excellent condition.

 

I wonder if she needs another set of dishes ...I happen to have several. Ha ha. 

Last weekend there was a gathering of  Scottie dog fans in Tennessee fundraising for Scottie rescue; one adorable vintage camper stood out.

Morning ... all who participated in last night's  shenanigans will be suffering a headache upon arising. Too much fun equals too much wine ... and we had a blast. The Mexican dominoes game went on until after 11 o'clock with Mark scratching out a win. It was a pretty close game. Dawn went out six times, and yet was not the winner. 

Sue and Wayne have potted flowers around the cottage deck. Background, you can see the beautiful lilacs just beginning their blooming cycle.

 

Lilacs are my favorite flowers. I remember picking some in the back lane on the way to Angus McKay elementary school. Mrs Kendall would put them in a jar with water and the entire classroom would smell heavenly.

Kendall Inlet ... no, not named after my grade 5 and grade 6 teacher. Just a coincidence. 🤔

Chippy's Hollow is named for the cute chipmunks that scamper around. 

 

Mark has gone to his chiropractor appointment and then to get the Kia washed. After all the rain it was looking rather spotty. 

Me? Laundry and daily chores ... +2 aspirin and a Sunkist diet soda. 

After lunch, Mark and I went for a bike ride, just two streets, but still, a start. My poor right knee clicks terribly as I pedal. I suspect I need the bike seat raised another inch. However, my balance was better today. After that, I took the dogs for their daily ride on the caddy. It's cloudy and breezy today ... rain is all around us, but nothing right here.

Randy and Dawn have granddaughter Makenna today and tomorrow. Of course the kids are on summer holiday now. They were surprising her with a birthday present of an afternoon movie. Fun! 

It's a rather low-key evening here. Mark put dinner on the barbecue and I baked a chocolate cake. Boom. That was our day. Done. 😎

Good morning! Mark cooked us breakfast then was off to help our neighbor Jim with a project. The doggies and I took the golf cart cruising. It was cloudy and cool. We visited Mark and Jim and came away with watermelon (shots) from Rose. 

We picked up Nancy at 4:30 and went to meet Randy and Dawn at plaza Guadalajara. Since we got there a few minutes early, we had a chance to order the drink specials. Dinner was great. We were concerned that the waitress did not understand Randy's order of a chicken soup. There were many laughs that he was going to get Campbell's chicken noodle soup from a can. Finally, he got up and talk to the waitress to make sure she knew what he had ordered. LOL. As it turned out, everyone had a great dinner. We all had takie-outie boxes for home. 

Back home, Mark suggested a game of Mexican dominoes.

Good day, eh? It was perfect for a mid-morning boat ride to fuel up Mrs R B. Robbie and BeeZee came along for the cruise. It was a cloudy 82F ... $59 later the tank was full and we putted home. Rain was forecast later on ... the rainy season is here. 

 

Palm Gardens has GOOD gas ... (and food!) Usually the dock is full ... we timed it just right. Yes, these Cypress trees grow right through the dock ... and through the bar roof.

 

BeeZee was interested in a little dog on the aluminum pirate boat. Really, it had the Jolly Roger painted on the side and was named Pirate! The lady aboard said the boat was older than her. Haha. It was pretty cool looking.

OMG ... someone's been feeding him Elvis sandwiches. 🕺 

Mark and I had a Scrabble challenge this afternoon ... he won 2-1. Drat. It was fun playing in the Sunroom with rain pouring down. I gave the Scotties rawhides but bossy Robbie wasn't having any of that. They settled on playing with the tumbler food dispenser. 

Tonight the 3rd Stanley Cup game is on so that's what's up here. Tomorrow night, we were picking up our friend Nancy and meeting Randy and Dawn at Plaza Guadalajara for dinner. 

Sue and Wayne have been busy at their cottage. They had their porch dining table refinished and it looks beautiful.

 

It's ready for summer night dinner PARTAY's. We shall join the fun soon enough!

Good morning. Miss B woke me at 5 AM to go outside for a potty. I think there may have been something more interesting than just that as she and Robbie both sniffed around the back door. By the way, my point is, drizzle. Believe me, it is most unusual in our region. (I enjoyed it and stood out there for a few minutes getting damp!) 

So, what's next with our POTUS Trump? The President of France, Emanuel Macron, addressed the United States of America in ENGLISH. As a result, White House staffers reported Trump was "irritated and bewildered" by it. Well, Mr. Trump, the citizens of our great country must uphold the terms of the Paris Climate Accord without your leadership. I, for one, will be looking into home solar power to reduce my carbon footprint. President Macron embarrassed you by, rightly so, treating you like a cheap dictator. He shook your hand and held it tightly for a full six seconds. This was a show of alpha male fortitude by President Macron. 🇫🇷✅

Trump was soundly dissed by President Macron who greeted many other country leaders at the NATO summit before POTUS. (Well done sir 🇫🇷 )

 

This is not a reality TV show, Mr. Trump. Look at the person greeting you, not the goddamn camera. Look at the faces surrounding Trump and Macron ... all are enjoying a wonderful insider joke, and you, Trump, are the punchline.

Nobody went to jail over Obama "threats." 

Mark worked today for several hours at K's lots. He measured and has now cleared 110 feet of the shoreline. He's now cleared approximately 1/3.  For the bulk pick up Monday there are now five large piles! 

Robs, Bee and I rode around the neighborhood visiting. It was such a lovely cool cloudy day. 

Randy was working around their house while Dawn was at work. Sue and Wayne went to dinner at the Plaza in Kenora with Dennis, Donna, Heather, Bruce and Rose. We're looking forward to seeing everyone next month.

So that was our day. Perfect.

Hello June! You used to be a favorite month as the last in my school year. Things are different here in the USA ... most kids are finished school in May and return to class in August. Me? OLD school. 😎

 

On the homefront, Mark and I had a busy morning cleaning house, making dog food, trimming palm trees and getting ready for this evening. Ken and Jim are coming over and Mark is making a Buffalo chicken dip appetizer before they go to Crazy Gators for dinner. I'm going to Yaya's at Rose's tonight. (Dawn begged off because of a wine headache.) 🤕 I'm not sure how that could have happened, ha ha. Feel better Dawn, we will miss you tonight! 

 

Mark found this picture of a very adorable, unusual Scottish terrier. 

 

The boy on the right looks like a panda bear. 💕🐾 Cute! 

Speaking of Facebook, a memory of six years ago popped up today. Sue and Wayne visited Mark and me in Oklahoma City. We stayed at Twin Fountains RV park. 

 

We were sure happy to see them. We didn't know a soul in Oklahoma City. Lucky for us, Bonnie was just 100 miles away in Tulsa. (Gone, but not forgotten is Maggie and Macy.) 😢🐾

Home now at 9ish after plenty of fun playing charades at Rose's. We each had several rounds ... plenty of craziness. 

 

Kate in foreground, left is Sharon, Anita, Carin, Deena and Sandra. (Pat, Nancy, Rose and I sat in the kitchen to eat.) Dinner was Caesar salad with lasagna followed by Pat's Key Lime pie and Nancy's chocolate cake!

 

Nancy's cooking nowadays ... plus baked a cake! She had a few marshmallows in the cupboard so tossed them in. Creative!

Mark had a nice evening with Ken and Jim. They had drinks at the house and then went to the Quarterdeck in  Umatilla for a fish fry. The kids were happy to see us both come home. (Robbie has been sitting on my lap for more than half an hour now!) 

So that's it. We had a very good day.
