Good morning from sunny and cool(ish) Central Florida 😎

Our neighbor Bill's house was just listed for sale. We sure hope to get wonderful neighbors who will fit in well with the 'hood ... perhaps R 'n R?

I've had an aching hand for a couple weeks so relaxed today with Light Relief, the Jacuzzi and wine (well at 5:30!)

Meanwhile, Mark decided to work on the golf cart looking for reasons why it has such a jerky start. While checking connections, he found a battery with a loose post that had been crimped into place at some point in its history. So, he disconnected things and went for a new battery. No good deed goes unpunished! I guess he should've left the rust and dirt where it was. Ha ha

The Scotties and I were ready for a GC ride when the ding dang dong thing wouldn't start. Marky checked voltage and "stuff" ... cussed a little and tore it all apart. No, I'm not worried ... he built elevators so this "should" be a piece of cake.

Robbie can't understand WHY we're not buzzing around on the cart. Whaa waaa. 😧

I tried to help by signing onto JustAnswers and talked to Curtis, an electric cart tech. He had great suggestions but we got stuck on the "Tow/Run" switch because IT DOESN'T HAVE ONE! What now? So, by 830 we gave up as it was dark and the mosquitoes were starting to come out. Hopefully, we'll have more luck after we sleep on it tonight.

Guess that's it for tonight. 😴

Thursday, April 6, 2017

Good (early) morning thanks to our squaking weather radio. Mark moved our vehicles to shelter as "quarter size" hail was forecast with a big ol' thunderstorm.

So, here we sit watching Steven Colbert with Scotties on our laps while heavy rain passes by. We went back to bed at 5 and slept til 9. Life is good.

Our house was a flurry of activity getting the pool table (uncovered) for the guys ... and the patio wiped down for the inevitable cigar smoking and ring-toss game.

Did you know that April 6 is tartan day? Well, here you go, enjoy a little scotch on the rocks. πŸ‘πŸ»

It's now 9 o'clock and the party's over. We both had a good evening with lots of fun. The venison chili was a hit with the Guy-Ya's while Lynn cooked to order burgers and hot dogs for the YaYa's. Dawn made "Baby Beers" for the girls!

So that's it for tonight. Ta Ta til tomorrow. 😍

Wednesday, April 5, 2017

Good afternoon from steamy Central Florida where we may break a temperature record today. Ho ho ho. It's way too hot too early. Ha ha. I just read that back and wondered why I said ho ho ho. I'm imagining that's just because I finished a table decoration for our Christmas table and tucked it away. Ha ha ha. There should be no July nightmares about not being prepared for Christmas this year. If you are a blog reader, you will know that starting in July I have the unprepared for Christmas nightmares.

I baked a couple of cakes today, one for Yaya's and one for the Ga-Guys ... Mark, Randy, Lew, Jim and Ken we will be enjoying homemade venison chili tomorrow with my triple-chocolate layer cake for dessert.

Mark kept busy this afternoon putting some extra stringers on to the dock project. Since he is going to be using Trex "plastic" wood, it needed extra support. By next week we should have the deck on and finished. Apparently that is something I can help with.

The above picture is a huge soft shell turtle that came right up to Mark while he was working on the dock. Someone must be feeding him. Mark said he is about 2 feet across! A biggie!

This morning, I was playing a round of solitaire while Robbie and BeeZee were looking out the back window. A giant hawk flew right to the door, picked up something and flew off with a bellow of Scottish warcry from Robbie. After that, I could hear the flock of Ibis in our neighbor's backyard chortling between them. I stuck my head out the door to listen to them when the bloody hawk came swooping back right to our door and I stepped out and yelled at him. Ha. What a zoo I have going on here.

I let Mz BZ outside right after the hawk flew off and a moment later checked on her.

It must have been a frustration hole-digging effort brought on by the hawk. Haha. She's only dug once before; the first day we brought her home. "Who did that?" Hmmm ... Robbie was on the shelf under the bar.

So, I've been wondering about our friend Rick Moir. He started me doing this daily journal blog and yet he seems to have stopped. He is either too busy or missing Florida and lost his inspiration. πŸ€—

Our pals Rod and Shay spent a couple of days looking around the Sebastian area of Florida. Shay mentioned how poorly the houses showed. Unfortunately, that is a problem all realtors have to deal with. It is truly a pleasure to show a home that is in good condition and kept clean and tidy. Apparently, in their price range, they didn't run into that. Of course we are still hoping they will buy in our area but understand that Sebastian Florida would be just two hours away from their grandson.

Tonight, we are meeting RanDawn at the old Sinbad's on Lake Eustis for date night dinner. It was sold, and renovations have been going on for about a month. We are going to check it out and see if we like it. Hope so!

Sue and Wayne are going out a little fancier than us tonight. They are going to the Coral Ridge Yacht Club for dinner and dancing. πŸ’°πŸ’°πŸ’° (I sure miss the years of going to our old Royal Manitoba Yacht Club in Winnipeg. Back in the day we had Wednesday night socials with a dinner and a band for dancing.) It was always a blast. Ah, the good ole days. That reminded me of what I used to say to my dad, "Daddy, tell me about the olden days!" 😍

Well, we met Randy and Dawn at KAT'S. Although they are still getting in the swing of their new business, dinner was very good and service was pretty good. Next time, we will go by boat. Back home, we took the dogs for a ride on the golf cart and then sat on the front porch and enjoy the cool breezes with a nightcap.
Randy upon hearing the cost of Dawn's mani-pedi. πŸ˜‚

So that's it for tonight. I hope you all had a great Wednesday date night! ❤

Schweet sunset.

Tuesday, April 4, 2017

Robs, Beez and I began our day on the front porch at dawn and listen to the morning birdsong. Lovely! (It's a bit worrisome that our Rocky hasn't been home in nearly a week for worms.)

Finally, rain was forecast for our area. We are short 5 inches so far this year. Things are very dry, especially our neighbor's lawn! πŸ™„ Anyway, Randy called about 10 o'clock that he was popping in for coffee as their golf had been interrupted by thunderstorms at the second hole. It was great to see him and hear their stories of adventure in Chicago. Of course poor Dawn was at work today after not getting home until almost 1 o'clock in the morning! Yikes.

Randy liked the dogs haircuts that Mark gave them yesterday.

There was enough hair on the floor for two more Scotties to wear after Marky was finished the grooming Ha ha. Never mind, they will be nice and cool with the warmer weather coming.

After doing a few chores today, we settled on the front porch to enjoy the steady rain with a glass of wine. (And cheese.) Hey; what's wine without cheese?

Sue & Wayne are coming to visit Easter weekend! Yay. They won't stay in our driveway with their motorhome as it's getting too hot ... we can only provide 30 amp power; not enough to run more than one air conditioner in their rig. Anyway, they are booked into Fishermen's Cove, Tavares. It's a nice place, and fairly close by.

We heard through Pam that our niece Olivia is graduating in May with an associate's degree! She would like us to come to Port Royal, South Carolina for the ceremony. We shall see what we can do. Her graduation is May 12 or thereabouts.

We had an OMG moment today during the thunderstorm. Mark was walking our dogs when he noticed Lew on the slippery roof picking leaves out of his gutter. Whhhaaaatttt? Crazy koo koo!

The rain continues this evening so it's TV time right after we box up an eBay sale! πŸ‘πŸ»

Monday, April 3, 2017

Good morning. I was up parceling a couple of eBay sales before Mark even touched his feet to the floor. We have a few errands to run and, since it's rather warm this morning ahead of rain, we thought we would leave our Monday boat ride until later in the week when it's a bit cooler.

We went to Ro-Mac to price Trex decking for Mark's deck/dock project. Damn that's some pricey stuff! As it turns out, Lowes is $5 LESS per board. The seawall's been an expensive project but a necessity. So, we shall be frugal elsewhere next month.

Randy and Dawn will be home late tonight from Chicago. Here are a few pictures they have shared so far. (It looks chilly!)

At our house it was doggie summer haircut day! Mark clipped and I vacuumed up. Another job done!

That was our busy, but dull day. 😎

Sunday, April 2, 2017

Good morning! The Scotties and I sat on the front porch at 6:30 and enjoyed the various bird songs and sunrise. It's a lovely cool start for our Sunday with 88 forecast later on.

Bonnie and Roger were busy yesterday with a dog show in Oklahoma.
Bonnie and Cabby ... (you look awesome in red!)
Roger was handling sweet Ella ...

Haha ... that's Roger and Ella. (Ella has Scottie spirit!) WHA-WA-WAAAA. πŸ˜‚

Mark completed the long run of boards this morning! Great job! πŸ‘πŸ»

I worked on listing some stuff that's been hanging around on eBay. And, I had 2 sales! Yay.

Funny story! Our new toy has a few quirks. One is leaping into gear after (you think) it's not going to move. Well, Mark decided a simple task would be wiring the lights, which he got working! Yay!

BUT, based on the next picture, the project on Mark's TO DO LIST is sorting out this gear leaping! Bwahaha.

OMG. πŸ™„

Okay, are you ready for a laugh? Here's a picture of Wayne in Venice last week posing with his Gondoliere pal. (Apparently they shopped at the same place.) 😜

Then, Sue and Wayne, back home in Florida, went to Carol and Jack's 50th anniversary party yesterday.

Their friend Jerry must have taken the same tour in Italy and bought the same shirt. That's pretty funny for a Frenchman and a Ukrainian. πŸ˜‚

Before dinner, we took the leaping lizard for a drive with the doggies around a different 'hood at the front of our park. Nice. It was so lovely and breezy! So, that's it for today.  Ta Ta.

Saturday, April 1, 2017

Good morning! 🌞The wind πŸ’¨ died down and it's a gorgeous day.

After breakfast Mark went to Lowes for the last of the facing boards for the seawall project. Me? I set up the dining room for Mexican Dominoes with Rose and Jim plus Pat and Ken. It'll be a blast ... they're all fun; just add wine and voila, a PARTAY.

Tonight, Sue and Wayne are going to Carol & Jack's (surprise) 50th Anniversary party in Boca Raton. (Sue sent pics!)

Happy 50th to Carol & Jack. ❤ πŸ₯‚πŸΎ (It was a surprise party hosted by Sue and Emil.)

These two look as cute as ever! ❤πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜˜

Meanwhile, at home, we were playing Mexican dominoes.
Excuse the rudeness exhibited in this pic ... haha ... it was because RanDawn were in Chicago and not HERE partying with us. 😜

Robbie had a bar stool up to the table and joined the fun!

Mz BeeZee sat on Mark's lap and joined the fun. What a great night! Everyone headed home by 11.
