Warm Rain ... June 7, 2016

The Scotties and I stepped onto the wet patio stones at 6 o'clock this morning and marveled at the soft, warm air. Lovely! Mark's still sleeping ... so it's time for Ancient Aliens and DSO!
Look! A 2-4 pack available at Walmart! Egad. How would I carry that around? But, I'd only need 10 cases for a summer in Canada! Heehee.

Our sweet dogs keep us laughing.
Robs & Beez have become mirror images lately. LOL. This is her first time under the barstools ... whereas it's one of Robbie's favorite out-of-the-way hiding places! (You'll have to find a new spot for peace and quiet now Robbie.)

Bonnie and Roger were enjoying lunch at Clawson's 1905 Pub in Beaufort, S.C. while her parents dog sat today.

That seafood bisque looks good! T.S. Colin has left their area too so it's sunny. (Olivia and Derek live nearby and we'll plan on seeing them in November when we visit the Charleston area.)

BeeZee spotted a squirrel on our evening walk and all 3 took off after it. LOL. HILARIOUS!
That's Mz Bee full tilt across the grass.  Haha. Boy, that squirrel was surprised!

Tonight ... relaxing. Hope all's well at your home.

T.S. Colin ... June 6, 2016

Good morning from cloudy Central Florida. Our weather radio sounded four times during the night, but tropical storm Collin was still 24 hours away! What the "H" was with that? We had a few showers during the night, but nothing that required an alert. No wonder people unplug the damn things! Just sayin' ... LOL ... Apparently I woke up a little cranky; which is as rare as a Sasquatch.

Two items sold on eBay totaling $50 ... cool! I packaged and then Mark took them to Cheri at our Grand Island Post Office. We're so happy she's back after her broken ankle rehab. (Michele was SO SLOW that we were driving to the Leesburg one just to avoid her! Really!)

Mark worked on his Sunroom project today and then, because it was a dreary day, we had a nap! Life is Good! Randy and Dawn called, and they had had a nap too. (It must be catching when it's cloudy in the Sunshine State.) We decided to meet at Guadalajara for Monday night's happy hour and dinner.

Since we drank dos Equis, we thought we should snuggle in with the world's most interesting man ...
After Mark took the picture, Randy realized that a little boy was standing there watching the hijinks. LOL. Ya just can't take us girls anywhere. Whoohoo!

Randy ordered a bowl of chicken tortilla soup ... and it was huge. He really enjoyed it but had ordered guacamole salad too thinking the soup wouldn't be enough to fill him up. I think there was enough in there for two people. Everyone enjoyed their dinner, as usual.  Dawn's granddaughter Makenna had gotten an honor student award today and they attended her ceremony. (I think she's in grade one, and her 7th birthday is tomorrow.) Randy said the only honor he ever got at school was saying "yes your honor" to a judge. Ha ha

It's now 9 o'clock and Belize and I are sitting on the front porch while Mark and Robbie are in the recliner watching hockey on TV! Yes, Robbie does watch TV! BeeZee and I are enjoying the wind and 75° temperatures. There's a light rain, but so wonderful with everything blowing around in the dark. Yes, I love rain, but apparently so does BeeZee! Oops ... something rustled the bushes across the street. We were into the house quick fast. LOL

Ta Ta.

Happy Hour Fun ... 6/5/16

Mark set the alarm for 6 to beat the heat on his outdoor project. The pups and I slept til 7:30 with the A/C on 75. Sweet.  The corner of our Sunroom foundation needed a slight boost ... and Mark had the answer.
He jacked it up ... a little more tomorrow ... then concrete. What a guy! He can fix anything!

It's just a putter-around day here ... until 4 o'clock when Pat and Ken arrive for happy hour! (Ken's just back from a motorcycle trip to Washington DC and we're looking forward to hearing about it!)

Meanwhile, at LOTW, Wayne's sitting in Shorty Hot-Pant's recliner at the lake! LOL
Wayne, SHP & Julius enjoying their Cottage! They met Glenda and her husband for breakfast at Yesterday's in Kenora ... always a good breakfast! Last night was dancing to a band in Keewatin! They keep busy enough.

Pat & Ken arrived here at 5 (she always brings me a little pressie!) and we opened two bottles of Giordano wines. Ken had a good trip to DC but hit the bad weather in South Carolina last week on his ride home. He had to go 80 miles west of I-95 (it was flooded) to get past the closed highway! Hours later, Ken arrived home, wet, cold and tired. Will he do it again? We'll see.

Our rain began ... in earnest. The gutters overflowed for 20 minutes ... and we sat on our porch and loved it! Believe me, it was getting dry! More rain expected tom with a tropical depression.
Our rain chain is working well!

Now "Miss USA is on with all its pomp and ridiculous ness. Too bad "The Donald" was fired. LOL.

That's it for tonight! More tomorrow!

Next Project ... June 4, 2016

Good morning sunshine! Are you feeling hot hot hot? Well, you would be if you were living here. It's 88° at 11 AM with 90° forecast by 4 o'clock. A tropical depression is supposed to cross our Florida peninsula on Monday and bring us rain and a chance of 'severe' weather. It will be welcome as our temperature will drop down to 80° as a high for a few days. YEEHAW!

Mark got up full of vim and vigor ... ready for our next project. We are adding gutters on to one side of the sunroom, and refacing our boathouse seawall. He drew me a diagram of what is planned, but that's his department. I know he will do an awesome job.

My chores today weren't nearly as glamorous; Paying the bills, and filing. Yuck yuck yucky. But hey, someone's got to do it. LOL

Both Robbie and BeeZee are laying upside down ... just chilling out on the tile floor! I guess it's just the 'dog days of summer' although the calendar says it's late spring. Sue and Wayne have been having quite a lot of rain at their cottage in Canada (so far.) Maybe we can send them some of this heat and they can send us some of their cool rain. Wouldn't it be nice if it were that easy? Poor Texas is being swamped with flooding rain this year. When we were there two years ago, Texas was in the worst drought ever.

At 4 o'clock, we went to Randy's for happy hour. He put out quite an interesting spread of snacks and brought out the good boxes of wine. LOL. We had quite a feast. Poor Dawn was at work until 8 o'clock. Bummer. BeeZee climbed on my shoulder to see out of the Livingroom window. Robbie helped mop the floor with his wet beard. Haha.

Tonight, back home, we're going to watch the hockey game that starts at 8 o'clock.

Sue and Wayne have gone to the new bar in Keewatin for dinner and dancing.

Bonnie and Roger arrived safely in North Carolina and sent a few pictures today. It's very hot and humid there!
What a sweet photo ... enjoy your family reunion!

Ta Ta til tomorrow!

On Their Way ... 6/3/16

Good morning! We were all up by 6 a.m. ... Roger packing dog crates ... Bonnie packing suitcases ... Mark making coffee and me, well I kept the kids entertained! They were on the road by 8 o'clock with a nine hour drive ahead.
Bonnie & Roger (after packing up and still looking fine!)

Mark with Chief on his lap while packing was underway.
Morning snuggles ... and coffee and soda!
with Percy (age 15.) He was watching and waiting to get in the car!

Robbie and BeeZee had a chance to say their bye-byes. (Bee knew it was "just" a visit and came to stand with Mark, Robs and me.) Whew! LOL

Bonnie sent this photo that she took of Roger and the dogs having a break at Fernandina Beach.
LOL. It looks like Bonnie has my mother's skills with taking pictures. LOL. Roger's head is cut off the picture!

After our chores were done, Mark wanted to go bowling. So, away we went and bowled three games at Breakpoint. I had such a laugh. Mark threw his FIRST ever gutter ball. Actually, to be fair, he did get one pin. BUT his ball went into the gutter 20 feet from the foul line, roll down then jumped out at the end of the gutter and got a pin!  LOL

Tonight, we caught up with Randy on the phone. He had been puttering around the house today while Dawn was working. We'll take the kids for a ride and have a visit tomorrow or Sunday.

We checked in with Sue and Wayne who had been shopping for summer hanging baskets at their cottage.
Beautiful petunias!

Tonight Mark and I finished watching Roots ... and were ready to turn in before midnight!

No word from Bonnie & Roger ... we hope they safely made it to their destination.

Beach Day ... 6/2/16

Good morning! It's going to be 90 here and 92 at Daytona Beach! We packed a cooler with beer, water, sodas and potato chips ... Roger and Bonnie left for a day at Daytona Beach. (Mark and I are dog sitting their 5!)

Playing with the kids!
Ella liked romping in the grass!

Bonnie and Roger almost didn't get off Daytona Beach with a fast incoming tide! LOL
It's dinnertime auntie!

Bonnie and Roger came in about 8, worn out from their day at the beach. They had an awesome time! Tomorrow, they are off to see (her) family for a reunion in North Carolina. (Drat! We have so many more plans!)

We decided on a light dinner at Crazy Gator's where Roger ate, you guessed it, gator! BTW Bonnie had a Tito Vodka martini and said it's the best! (I must try it; dirty.) Haha.
We've had such a fun time with them!!!

Dinner Party ... June 1, 2016

Good morning! Mark made bacon 'n eggs for our breakfast! After, he and Roger made a run to ABC Liquor for Black & White Scotch! Not only a good looking bottle label, but smooth Scotch!

Bonnie trimmed Robbie & BeeZee and made them look great. (I intended to take pictures and post them, but the day got away on me!)

We watched a couple of Ancient Aliens and before you know it ... 4 o'clock. Randy and Dawn arrived for happy hour. Her right arm is painful due to tennis elbow! (I think it's time she seeks professional help. It's been going on for nearly 3 months and yesterday she looked exhausted by it ... maybe a steroid shot?)

Mark cooked a fantastic dinner with Caesar salad, and stuffed chicken breasts with red potatoes. Everyone enjoyed it. Since it's Rogers's first trip to Florida, we had to have Keylime pie for dessert! And yes, he liked it!

Afterward, we got into a game of Mexican dominoes that lasted until midnight. It was lots of fun. Randy never fails to entertain with his forgetfulness. LOL. We had dogs on our laps ... puppies chewing up their beds and delightful bedlam.

When Mark and I went to bed, Bonnie and Roger went in the hot tub.

Ta Ta til tomorrow!
