Thursday, September 30, 2021

Good afternoon. It’s going on 4 o’clock and it’s been a long day. I got up at 5 o’clock this morning and prepared the rest of the living room for painting. By the time Mark got up at 8:30 I had already cut in the first coat and run out of paint. After breakfast, Mark went to the Depot for another gallon. I rolled and cut in then rolled some more and by 330 it was finished and all put back together. I love it!!!  The interior painting is done and I’m done LOL

Mark started a big project today. He is pressure washing and bleaching our nasty driveway and then putting a finish on it. It will tie in better with the African gray tile on our front porch. I’m interested to see how it will look.

Our friend Lani is in Orlando with her mom who is doing poorly. She’s taking a few days from work, fearing the worst. Markymark had an inspection this morning on the house he bought in Eustis.

Our friends Pat & Ken had major surgery done on their dog Sadie a couple of weeks ago. She just got her stitches out and overnight the wound opened. So, it was off to the vet for them today. There’s always something, isn’t there?

Today is LaDonna & Wayne’s anniversary and they’re enjoying Clearwater beach. It looks like a posh place …

Happy 21st Anniversary πŸ₯‚πŸΎ you love birds. ❤️

That’s it for today.

Tuesday, September 28, 2021

Good morning! We’re off to Gainesville with the kids. Robbie has an annual checkup ultrasound and BeeZee is coming along for support. (He’s pretty annoyed that I snuck Beez some breakfast while Mark walked him.) I told Robbie where we’re going … he’s not pleased. What the vet is looking for is tumor(s) on his liver. There weren’t any last year, but with high liver enzymes it’s prudent to do ultrasound annually. πŸΎπŸ’•

Patiently waiting for our Robbie. (He went in at 11:20 … it’s 2:30 now. 🀨 That’s a long stressful day for our wee boy.

We’re on our drive home with good news … no major changes since last year; just monitor yearly! Whew. $450 wisely spent. πŸ₯°πŸΎ

Happy Birthday dear Bonnie! πŸ₯‚πŸΎπŸŽ‚ She and Roger are going to the Tulsa fair to celebrate and have some fun. Enjoy!

Back home, we’re going to chill out and watch Telly. Robbie refused his dinner and keeps checking out his bare belly. He’s not happy with me today! I brought his bed into the living room and put him in it.

See, he won’t look at me. πŸ˜‚

Monday, September 27, 2021

Good morning sunshine! It was just 70F when the Scotties and I had coffee on the front porch at 8 o’clock.  Lovely!

Somehow Mark slept through my prepping and painting a feature wall in our entryway. BeeZee and Robbie just gave me “the look” … they may have been annoyed at the painting starting at 6 o’clock. 🀨

Sue and Wayne had to take a detour near Duluth Minnesota, which gave them a bit of a delay, and probably a pretty good story to tell.

Do you have arthritis flareups? Our friend Shay is having a bad time with it. Mark looked up foods that aggravate it.

Well, we sent the list to Shay … πŸ˜‚

Hahaha … change is tough.

LaWayno picked up dinner at Oakwood tonight and came over. It was so nice to see them. We (well, he) worked on our wifi extender … but the password escaped us. πŸ˜‚ So we enjoyed some nice breeze on the front porch while the guys smoked cigars. A good evening.

Sunday, September 26, 2021

Good morning! It’s a bit cooler start to our day, coolest since May. Sure, we’ll take it. 😎

Sue and Wayne took this beautiful sunrise picture before leaving the cottage for home. Another month and snow will be flying there. We heard this evening that they were just outside of Duluth for the night.

At 4 o’clock Mark and I picked up Kim Bob met up with Lani and Markymark in their boat and went over to CrazyGators for early dinner. The place was quite busy, and we waited some time for our food. Anyway, the drinks were two for one and we had a very good time. We took our time getting back home as it was just so beautiful out. That was the main thing of our day.

No, back home, Mark is grooming the dogs and giving them haircuts.

That’s it for today. Short and sweet.

Saturday, September 25, 2021

Good morning sunshine! We were both up at 5 a.m. … Mark for opening day of archery season … and me, to paint the hallway “Ethereal Mood” … a soft blue shade.

Mark was home early … a hunting dog (possibly lost) was running through the woods all morning. No deer about today.

And no carpet for the dining room! What the heck? It arrived at FedEx in Ocala Wednesday! I guess there’s no hurry, but it is a little frustrating to have the room torn up and the chairs stacked waiting for the replacement carpet. (So, after I tidied up the hallway and hung pictures, I assembled the dining room without the carpet.)

More housekeeping tonight while Mark watched golf and football.

RanDawn are off to bingo tonight with Brittany and Allan … they were feeling lucky! We’ll hear how much they won maybe tomorrow. Randy’s back is still sore but he was able to golf on Tuesday.

Sue and Wayne are packing up today and plan to start for home tomorrow … not at the crack of dawn. πŸ˜‚ Ten o’clock would be about the earliest. It’s been getting cool in the mornings at the cottage.

Breaking news …

Friday, September 24, 2021

Good morning. It’s partly cloudy today, but no rain forecast. Mark and Bob have gone to the woods, blazing trails apparently. They certainly enjoy their forest time. Meanwhile, I have a few things to finish up around the house from our recent decoration updates. Yesterday was terrific, having a bit of a road trip and seeing Rod and Shay. Today, we were invited to celebrate the sale of Mark and Lani‘s first property in our neighborhood. It closes today. They are celebrating in Sanford at a well-known restaurant. We were invited, but the fellows are hunting early tomorrow morning, and tonight would’ve been a later one with an hours drive. We will celebrate in spirit with them.

So I saw this on Facebook today and instantly knew it is a phrase that suits me to a T. πŸ˜‚

It’s rather hilarious, isn’t it? Yes, I am definitely trans financial. I want a pool, but it’s not in the budget as long as we are RVing. 🀷‍♀️

So the trim around the windows in our bedroom are done and painted! I love it … thank you Mark!

The headboard Mark built πŸ₯°

And the plant shelf niche in the wall. Cool eh!

Well, that project is done! What’s next?

Thursday September 23, 2021

Good morning! We’re on the road to meet our old pals Rod and Shay for lunch! We were tight when we lived in south Florida … now we live 3 hours apart. We have some catching up to do!

Lunch and laughter with ShayRod catching up on life.

Longhorn Steakhouse was quite busy … and the food was good! We had a nice quiet booth away from the crowd. Shay wondered aloud how we got put way at the back of the restaurant, all to ourselves. I said they took one look at me and put us in the back. Ha ha Ha. Roddy plays pickle ball regularly in their community. Shay loves to swim and walk but has succumbed to arthritis in her knees. They both look great!

When they were leaving I presented Shay with a Halloween pumpkin that I painted on a palm frond pod. (It’s her favorite time of year!) πŸ‘»

It looks cute on their front porch!

We came home a different way, 53 (I think) & 19. It seemed a little quicker to me, but still close to an hour and a half drive each way. It is what it is.

Back home, Markymark and Lani had been in and let the dogs out back and gave them a few biscuits. That was great … we were home about an hour after that.

There’s other family news … in London, Sharon celebrated a birthday with the family …

at a Spanish restaurant. πŸ₯‚πŸΎπŸ₯°

We took the kids for a golf cart ride tonight, and then settled down to watch deadliest catch. It’ll be an early night. πŸ’€

Wednesday, September 22, 2021

Good morning sunshine! Before I was dressed Mark was working on the project. (I didn’t think it was a project, but it has turned out to be one!) Maybe pics today, if it’s finished.

Our friend Nancy’s dog Kachina has been eating Dr. Harvey’s PARADIGM low-carbohydrate vegetable mix (add a protein which should be rotated weekly from beef, poultry or fish) and continues to amaze the vet! Kachina had a life of dry kibble when she was diagnosed with a cancerous growth on her paw. When Nancy took Kachina to the University of Florida small animal hospital it was discovered she had numerous tumors that were inoperable. It was at this time Nancy put Kachina on the new diet regime. She did well all through chemotherapy, but it was stopped in early August because it was not shrinking the tumor‘s. The vet said in 2 to 3 weeks Katrina would just die quietly in her sleep, unable to breathe. Well, that was before Mark and I went away to North Carolina in August. We expected the worst to happen while we were gone. Now, 7 weeks later and Katrina is active, alert and still very much alive! Long story short, we are switching our dogs from Dr. Harvey’s veg to bowl to the Paradigm mix. We are stopping all carbohydrates for our Scotties as a preventative measure.

After my doctor appointment today … I’m down 11 lbs. in 4 months by ditching carbs! Easy-peasy. Schweeet.

We had an early dinner, and went for a boat ride about 5 o’clock. It was beautiful on the lake right after the rain.

Robbie … a big damp after the rain, but happy to have a boat ride. πŸΎπŸ’•

So pretty today!

Tuesday, September 21, 2021

Good morning, and a happy fall y’all. πŸ‚ The harvest moon was beautiful overnight! Today, our home will be in disarray with the electrician changing out the electrical panel.

The job was finished about 2:30 and the power restored! We weren’t in any discomfort as Mark had the generator running 1 air conditioner and a fan. He had hoped to finish the wood project, but no. The generator wasn’t able to power the compressor. 🀷‍♀️ Tomorrow!

Markymark hired the electrician to replace his electrical panel - next week!

I met Mary at Nancy’s house for a swim. Nancy came out and joined us, but just sat with her feet in the water. She is heating her pool to 82° right now and said she would crank it to 84 for us. Boy, are we spoiled. πŸ’¦πŸ€© I came home at 4:30 to feed the puppers. Mark was still grocery shopping!

Tonight I painted 2 Halloween palm pods … one for Lani … and one for Shay! They must be sealed yet, but are cute. πŸŽƒ

And that’s it for tonight. It’s raining here, so I will get a great sleep. LOL

Monday, September 20, 2021

Good morning y’all … hope your Monday is the start to a great week. It’ll be officially autumn πŸ‚ this week.

Today’s fun is returning the new dining room carpet. Sad, but it isn’t perfectly rectangular and that’s evident in a rectangular space. The carpet is off by 1.5”.

We have to roll it up and get it to UPS for return. Another carpet will be shipped as replacement. Very good service … but for the fuss of pulling the furnitre out, etc.  (See pic below … 1.5” makes a difference!)

Crooked! No amount of tugging or blocking could fix that! So we rolled up the rug, and Mark delivered it to our local UPS store. They wouldn’t accept it rolled up and told him it needed to be in a box! UPS didn’t have a box large enough. Mark came back home annoyed so  I called Overstock who was surprised to learn UPS had refused the return! Overstock called UPS and sorted it out. Mark taped plastic trash bags at either end, and went back to UPS with the carpet. πŸ™„

Today’s fun will be had at the shooting range, weather permitting.

Back home in time to feed the kids, we were invited for a swim but had to ask for a raincheck. We’re worn out … still have to cook dinner and prep for electrician appointment tomorrow morning!

Tonight we tried watching a show called “Ordinary Joe” on NBC. Well, we couldn’t follow it after 40 minutes so here we are, going to bed. Ha ha Ha. Tata till tomorrow.

Sunday, September 19, 2021

Good morning. And, a very happy birthday to Diane!

Mark and Bob went hiking in the forest this morning … Wayno was busy prepping for an upcoming RV trip and couldn’t go.

Me? Paperwork … then tidying my art area. It’s time to finish the long pictures. (But, nah, that didn’t happen.) 🀨

After Mark came home we had lunch of cabbage casserole … an hour’s siesta and a trip to Mt Dora’s Lowes. We needed more trim and rustic wood for our creations. It’s fun … making our visions come to life.

Sue and Wayne went to Les Stevenson‘s memorial today where Wayne shared special memories. We had many great times together. (Their dogs were at Tony and Aurelia’s in Lockport. I bet they were well spoiled there.) I’m betting Les’ memorial was well attended. He was a kind, gentle soul who loved life. Rest in peace, dear friend.

A few things I’ve neglected to post recently are Flo’s wedding pic from earlier this month. It’s fantastic! Because of COVID19, some family couldn’t travel. Voila!

Fantastic!!! Flo and Peter … you’ve gotten everyone together! That’s so cool. πŸ₯°

Sue and Wayne cruised by our old family home in Winnipeg. It looks darn good at 70 years old. Sue was happy to report that it’s still a lovely area. 😍 (We had a great childhood there and grew up reasonably ‘normal.’ ) Ha!

It’s a great place to live … til the snow flies!

We sat on the front porch this evening and enjoyed listening to the rain falling. Nancy had given me a cute pillow, from Kachina, thanking us for letting her use the doggy stroller!

Yup … I’m the wicked witch. 🀣

There’s football on tonight … ta ta til tomorrow.

Saturday, September 18, 2021

Good morning! We’re puttering about, Mark chopping and cooking for 2 hours while I tidied up our “job-site.” The dining room carpet is down … with various weighs on the corners … and the huge table and 8 chairs are in place! We love how it turned out!!!

Now … to finish up the bedroom! The painting is done … trim work and niche left to do. We ran out of product … to be continued.

Mark wanted to take the boat out for a quick ride and run through the recently sprayed weeds on the surface of our canals. We’ve been told by water management that two days after they spray to run your boat through it. Allegedly this helps to get rid of it. Anyway, it was just muggy this morning and I didn’t want to go so Mark went alone. Bob and his grandson were playing in a kiddie pool and Mark called out something about the” mighty hunter “
playing in a kiddie pool. Ha! They both threw water balloons at Mark and got him good. πŸ’¦  πŸ˜‚

Lani and Markymark came for drinks at 5:30 and to see our progress. We yakked til 7 when they headed home. After our supper, we sat on the porch and listened to the rain. I put the kids raincoats on … so cute!

Ancient Aliens is on now so ta ta til tomorrow. πŸ₯°

Friday, September 17, 2021

Good morning. Mark was up and outside building the headboard before I was even up. I think it’s going to look fantastic, but he has had to run back to Lowe’s for more wood. There is an alcove on one wall in our bedroom that we are going to line with the same wood. Then, it will become a plant shelf. He was able to use the pneumatic nailer that Bob gave him, and it worked beautifully. Mark said it probably saved him four hours of work.

I have plenty of chores to do today too, much of it on the phone tracking the carpet, which allegedly will be here today, plus ordering a Wi-Fi extender through Century link. You can’t do anything on the phone nowadays, it’s all online. Some of it is very secretive as to how you find it. Ha ha ha.

Mark is my hero! Who’s the man? Er, you are?! πŸ˜‚

Shiplap king headboard πŸ₯° (We donated the former headboard and matching mirror yesterday!) Oooo I’m going to sleep so soundly tonight. πŸ’€

LaWayno suggested picking up dinner and having a get together tonight … and we’re ready for a break! Yayah! We’ll pick up Stavros and go over there. We still don’t have a table we can use. On the sunroom table we have wood piled up for doing the trim around the bedroom windows. And, our big dining room table is crammed into the sunroom waiting for the carpet to arrive. And yes, it’s now 3 o’clock and no carpet yet. Grrr

The wrinkly carpet arrived at 3:30 ..  we blocked it out, hopefully it’ll settle down. Dinner was good … and we had a wonderful evening with LaDonna and Wayno. We always have plenty of stories and laughs.

Thursday, September 16, 2021

Good afternoon y’all … it’s cloudy here with some showers forecast this evening. We were up and out to the Leesburg Humane Society Resale Shop to drop off a large mirror, king headboard, 3 French Country valances and rods. Of course we shopped there too. I found a ceramic Paula Deen cup. I’ll use it to store brushes! Love the color! We also bought a hand carved Jamaican figurine … highly detailed. Nice finds!

We have a date at Nancy’s this afternoon … haven’t seen her since we arrived home from Maggie Valley. (She’s been busy … then down with a wicked headache.) Today I have the headache, likely from paint fumes over two days of daubing. πŸ˜‚

After the humane society store shopping we went to Lowes for headboard planks. Lowes had a better selection than the Depot and we bought two bunches of shiplap … plus a new fall door wreath. Bob gave Mark a pneumatic nailer … so he bought a tip for that! Back home it was time for a quick lunch.

At 2 o’clock we went to Nancy’s for a visit and take her the tea towel from Waynesville and biscuits for Kachina. Nancy had a package for me … a Halloween pillow!!! So cute. We had a swim, a fun visit and finally I went home at 6 o’clock. πŸ˜‚

Sue and Wayne had Shorty Hot Pants in to Keewatin for a hair cut. Tonight they had Mr. Raccoon visit on the deck!

Sue said he’s bigger than Robbie! I’m always surprised these critters survive the harsh winters.

That’s it for tonight.

Wednesday, September 15, 2021

Good evening! An entire Blog page vanished! What the heck. Anyway, our bedroom is now Behr Marquee “Ocean Boulevard” … and ready to decorate.

About 830 tonight we went outside to watch the launch of the first fully civilian, space lunch. It was fantastic, we saw the booster rockets disengage, a beautiful aura of the rocket, and in general, a spectacular launch!

Tuesday, September 14, 2021

Tuesday September 14, 2021

It’s 2 o’clock and the dining room painting is done! It looks gorgeous … now to clean the floor for the new rug arriving tomorrow! I can’t wait to get it pulled together again. The same color went onto the bit of kitchen walls we have too. Tomorrow will be picture and mirror hanging adventures. πŸ˜…

Sue has sent a picture of mushrooms or toadstools growing at the cottage! They’re huge! What the heck?

Mark made a trip to Home Depot for supplies. He’s building a new headboard for our bedroom and putting nice trim around our bedroom windows. πŸ₯°

I hung three mirrors and some paintings. Tomorrow Mark will help me hang a plaque and a huge painting. That’s it for tonight … it’s TV time.

Monday, September 13, 2021

Monday, September 13, 2021

Good morning. I was up fairly early tidying the house for today’s fun. What fun today might I be speaking of? Well, first, Mark has an appointment with an electrician to estimate the cost to replace our electrical panel and upgrade it. (Future plan is to add a swimming pool to our home.) Regardless of our future plan, our new insurance company has requested we update the panel. It is something that has been in our thoughts for the past couple of years, we just haven’t gotten around to it. The next fun will be going to the Home Depot for paint. Our Dining room is going to get a refresh with a new color and a rug!

The electrician didn’t show at 9 … Mark phoned him, heard the excuses “blah blah blah” … and by 11 o’clock had a quote of $1400. Yikes 😬. The work will be done next week. 🀷‍♀️

I emptied the dining room before lunch … listed the dining room’s area rug for sale and took a break. Whew. Mark is coating the river rock at the front of our house today. That’ll make it pop!

The first coat is now on the walls … and the black area rug went to an Ocala couple! Yay, it found a home.

Sunday September 12, 2021

Good afternoon! We’re in Orlando heading home from a morning’ drive.  Fortunately traffic was light. The Scotties came along just for a ride. We arrived back home at 1:45. Mark missed our exit in the rain … took a scenic detour getting back 5 miles. πŸ˜‚

We had plans with Nancy this afternoon but she’s down with a wicked headache! Feel better soon.

Sue and Wayne got this gorgeous sunrise photo just before going out to breakfast in downtown Kenora.

It’s worthy of a painting!

Football 🏈 was on this afternoon so it was a lazy one here. I’ve decided on a fresh dining room paint color and shall begin prepping tomorrow!

Diane shared this cute picture of Beau, all snuggled in for the evening.

Julie, This is Beau's favorite spot in the evening. In a minute you won't be able to see him because he "blankie" will be over him & he will be snuggled in for the evening until we wake him up to go potties & to bed! He's such a brat! Wouldn't turn around for a picture. Nope!

See! He's in his blanket til bedtime!
I'm so glad that Aunt Jane knew Beau Beau! How great! Yes, he is loved & taken care of! He's our heart ❤ ♥ πŸ’“

I guess that’s it for today. I hope it was a good day for you too.

Saturday, September 11, 2021

Good morning. It’s a dull looking day here in Central Florida on the 20th anniversary of the collapse of the World Trade Center’s twin towers. So many lives were lost, so many brave first responders died doing their jobs, so many families torn apart. It was a sad day in America, and a turning point in our democracy.

As a country singer Toby Keith sang, we were sucker punched. The twisted events leading up to the attacks on the USA caused a knee-jerk reaction puppeteered by our government and media. What strikes me so sadly is all these American, coalition, Iraqis and Afghans lives lost during the 20 year war could have been avoided. We, the American people, were goaded into a war, that was the making of oil, greed, power, and deception. And yes, it started way back with the presidential race of Al Gore and George W. Bush. The facts are there, and our current president, Joe Biden has stated he will release the files. Some of the players are already dead, but some are leading their lives in freedom, where they should not be. Enough said. Our media is currently trying to “rewrite the books” and twist our memories so we all don’t look like the horses asses we are to future generations. The way we’re behaving now fighting over (politically) Covid19 vaccinations, we are on track to exterminate the human race. Mother Nature is indeed culling the herd. πŸ’€

So, Mark and his pals are out in the Ocala forest today having a wonderful hike in the cooler weather. I use the term cooler very loosely here as it is probably in the upper 70s at the moment.

πŸ₯° They help to clean up the forest, pick up trash that others have dumped, and leaves things better than they were.  That’s a good gang right there!

That’s mom in the lead … one cub following her. πŸΎπŸ’•

I took the kids for a long ride on the Caddy and noticed friend Florence’s home is now FSBO. It’s a nice property with a dock, a big storage shed and a covered dock. Florence has been living in Jacksonville with her daughter for a couple of years now.

Speaking of neighbors, Lani saw Georgia out walking! That’s great as her family had (tried) to move her to a care home … but she’s back! I told Lani the story of my mom sneaking out of John Knox Village by cutting off her monitor. πŸ˜‚

The Florida Gators won the football game … it’s misting outside and I’m missing our sunshine. And, I want to swim in the rain. πŸ₯°

A party limo pulled up and took Paul and Michele out partying …

Classy, eh? There were several couples aboard waiting to PARTAY! πŸ₯‚πŸΎ

After dinner Mark ‘n Lani joined us on the front porch for a drink … and a few laughs. We love this neighborhood!

Friday, September 10, 2021

Friday September 10, 2021

Good morning sunshine! We were up and out early taking Da Mountie to Pep Boys for rear axle differential work. We stopped at the humane society store and dropped off our donations and bought a small carved teak elephant. Cool 😎 …

See the carved elephant? It’s in front of the mirror on the fireplace hearth!

Sue and Wayne have a strange critter on their Canadian property …

Yikes! A wooden gator. That’s a big toadstool πŸ„

Back home, the Mountaineer has new fluid and gasket … 🀞 hoping no more puddles on the driveway. πŸ˜‚ The bill was $129 … fair, we thought.

LaWayno are stopping in soon … maybe we’ll have a wifi extender working today! This house has plenty of concrete and wifi signals get lost. πŸ˜‚ Well … it’s back to researching … we may have to buy a dsl wifi booster or switch the service. Meanwhile, it’s working reasonably well. Wayno is very quick … Mark and I would be pondering things for a long while. πŸ˜‚

While I tidied the kitchen after a dinner of salad and meatballs, Mark took the dogs for a walk. Of course it started raining just after they left. Ha ha. And, here hangs their new rain ponchos. πŸ™„

Mark just came in to tell me that our neighbors Jim and Candi and there two kids have been down with Covid for the past 21 days. Mark asked if they had their vaccines, and she said “no.” What the heck people? There are 80 million Americans eligible for the free COVID-19 vaccine who have not gotten it yet. It boggles my mind.

Tonight, we are watching a worldwide viewing through Michaelmoore.com on YouTube of his hit documentary “Fahrenheit 911.” It’s free …

That’s all for tonight.

Thursday, September 9, 2021

Thursday, September 9, 2021

Good morning. It was a cloudy morning with soft rain falling when we got up. That’s a sure sign autumn is just around the corner! It wasn’t anything like the deluge we get late afternoons during summer. ☔️

We had a lot of phone calls to make today, still catching up from our vacation. Da Mounty needs maintenance … Kia is waiting on a recall part … the new home insurer is requesting we replace our electrical panel … and on ‘n on. 🀨  Meanwhile, Mark has gone to run some errands.

After chores we’re finished I painted for a couple of hours … just a nice balance today. The rain left us about noon and lowered our temp to 76. Pretty nice for dog walking.

Just a fun random pic from my phone from our last beach day.

There’s a football game on tonight … rah rah! πŸ™„

Wednesday, September 8, 2021

Good afternoon. We just had one part of the RV to clean today, the awning. I took this picture just so you don’t think it’s all fun and games. Ha ha.

(I had to take some Advil last night in order to sleep.) After my cleaning inside the rig, everything was aching. I really do think we need a new, softer mattress at home! Tonight will be marks turn to have achy joints, especially his shoulders.

Anyway, it’s all parked and the driveway tidied up. It’s time to cover the truck … and be ready for our next RV adventure. LaDonna is so anxious to go away again that she is devising recipes already. πŸ₯°

Sue and Wayne are having some cool weather at the cottage, and took the pups into town for a ride. They don’t plan to be back home until October 1st this year. What’s the rush? I expect that Floridians will be sticking pretty close to home between the Delta and Mu variants of Covid. I planned to host a Yaya‘s event this month but have postponed it. All of the Yaya group is vaccinated, but I know we will be needing booster shots in the next couple of months. After that, we should be good to gather again.

When we were in Waynesville, North Carolina, we bought two rain jackets for the dogs. It was great to find some that fit and they are well-made. RCPets had some very inexpensive ones on Amazon which I ordered. They are so cute … lightweight and have small hoods to keep the Scotties ears dry. The size Medium fits them perfectly!

Adorbs, eh!

LaWayno came over after checking on their boat, the MimiTini. Our canals are choked with duck weed … so they didn’t start their boat … and Mark didn’t start ours today. After a happy hour drink we went to Stavros for a delicious dinner.

We sat on the front porch afterward while the guys smoked cigars and we watched the lightening flash from distant storms. It cooled down nicely. A good evening.

It’s Telly time now … watching Bloodline. Ta ta.

Tuesday, September 7, 2021

Tuesday, September 7, 2021

Hey, this day disappeared in a flash! While Mark washed the truck I cleaned inside our rig … yeah, windows too. So many things accumulate that maybe we needed once … but they just stay onboard. Well, today I hauled off several bags of found goodies. Ha! There were 7 EXTRA shorts in Mark’s drawers, 5 of which he didn’t remember having. πŸ˜‚

I sorted out our upcoming RV reservations with the help of Wayno … and also got our backed up mail sorted out. Tomorrow, we’ll finish up and park the rig til next month’s fun trip.

Congratulations to my cousin Florence Tawns who wed Peter Richer today in balmy England. The weather held, no rain. Well done, Covid style. The picture is shared by Mother of the Bride, Melanie, in Australia. Because of the dang pandemic, she wasn’t able to see her eldest daughter wed. That’s a bit sad … but a wonderful event nonetheless. Happiness always Flo and Peter. πŸ₯‚πŸΎ❤️

Good morning sunshine! We left Twin Oaks RV Park at 8:05. Traffic is light as we roll along home. LaWayno are 10 minutes behind us. Lots of Georgia State troopers on duty. πŸ‘πŸ»

Hello Florida … and nice roads. We’re making good time! Stopped MM414 to walk the dogs. LaWayno pulled in for a quick stop too. πŸ₯°. Mark got a coffee and we’re good for the next 2 hours.

Rather than buy diesel on the Turnpike at $3.54 … we filled up at Racetrack for $3.15.  πŸ‘πŸ»

It was a good drive … and we arrived home to find we’ve been missed! Awww πŸ₯°

Thanks Lani πŸ₯°. We’re popping over with a few treasures from our travels … and maybe a swim. (It’s raining now!)

Good morning y’all. It’s a nice 64F start for our drive south. We were both ready at 8:45 and pulled out of Creekwood Farm for our 290 mile drive to Twin Oaks for tonight’s fun. It’s a clean, easy access RV Park that’s halfway home.

Well … that was interesting. πŸ˜‚ Our Garmin 770 took us off the highway … and right back on. The fun continued adding 5 miles to our trip today! The roads were rough … and jostled things around that usually don’t move! Anyway, we arrived about 330 and Waynoe came out and got the dogs and took them into their place for water and carrots. That gave us a chance to set up and get our place cooled down. They’re THE BEST friends EVER. πŸ₯° Of course the kids loved all the extra attention! πŸΎπŸ’•

That is Stone Mountain in the distance! It has a beautiful RV park and a lot to see and do there. If you haven’t been, make it part of your trip.

Bypassing Atlanta, Georgia. It was a beautiful day, just in the mid-80s. Our GPS took us on a fantasy tour. πŸ™„

At Twin Oaks Park in Elko Georgia, we actually went in the pool and it was a gorgeous 86°. The air temperature was about 84. It’s really a nice park, very clean and tidy.

We had a dinner of beef tenderloin tips and sausage with peppers and onions. Yeah, it sounds a bit strange but we were cleaning up what we had left. LOL it was all delicious.

Jimmy Gillies is playing tonight at the Creekwood Farm RV cookout. All free! Cool.

It’s now actually Sunday morning, as last night was filled with concert, free food, and a fire by the creek.

The music was great. And the Creekwood staff had a cookout with hamburgers, hotdogs, chili, beans and all the Fixin‘s. It was a good time.

Afterwards, we sat Creekside and had our last fire at Maggi Valley for the season.

LaDonna and Wayne living large. Wayno was ordering a new griddle for next camp out. πŸ˜‚

Good afternoon. It’s been an absolutely beautiful day here in North Carolina. We’ve had a case of cabin fever and decided on a drive today. Mark and I had been to Mount Pisgah many years before with Paula. We remembered it being a beautiful drive. LaDonna and Wayne all had never been so we loaded up the truck with the Scotties and took a drive down the Blue Ridge.

It was a spectacular view and we stopped at all the overlooks along the way. When we got to the restaurant at Pisgah Inn we walked the dogs. Mark and I didn’t remember all the other buildings around, just the restaurant and gift shop. Things have changed so much. We took some snacks with us and ate them at the truck before heading back down the mountain. There were a lot of motorcycles out today, and no wonder, the weather was perfect 72°.

Plenty of overlooks … and to let the faster traffic by.

The drive from our campground to the Blue Ridge Parkway took us along the devastation route of hurricane Fred. There was horrific damage from the Pigeon River flash flooding! Homes have been moved off their foundation, and trees down. All along the road crews were working to maintain and clean up. Piles of furniture and debris were all along the road.

Sad. Twenty-two died in the area.

Back at the campground, more people have flooded in for the Labor Day weekend. The park is nearly full now. LaDonna and Wayne are cooking tonight … Mark and I relaxed for a couple hours before going over for salad and dinner.
