It’s VET DAY … Robbie and Wyatt are getting their 6 month bloodwork done with Dr. Wilson … and BeeZee is coming along for fun. (Dr. Wilson may be surprised to see just how well Bee is doing with Chemo at Palmetto Vet.)

Randy’s inheritance today is Mark’s wheelbarrow. 😂 Apparently, his is falling apart, and Mark has not had a need for it here at the new house.

it’s a lovely start to our fall season. It’s still very warm, but the humidity is down. It’s all pumpkin spice and sea salt. 😂

Saturday September 20, 2025

Good afternoon from lovely North Central Florida where the humidity is low(er) and my wind chimes are singing. Why am I appreciating this you ask? I painted the front door and outside trim around the door today! It’s a B I G house for a do-it-your-selfer! 😬 (Neighbors have suggested painters they know … but, I’m saving up for a gas golf cart.) 😂

So I went to an art association meeting this week and met some fellow artists who live in the area. My picture popped up on their website! Infamous already 😜

Yesterday was Diane’s birthday and earlier this month was Aurelia’s! So … 🎶 Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you both!

The K’s are on the road home with a stop for motorhome service enroute. We’ve missed them … they’ve been away 4 months and so much has changed. (When they left on their trip Mark and I were happily living in Eustis … then I spyed (?) an interesting house and put an offer on it. Next thing we knew we were selling, packing and moving!) Now we’re nearly neighbors!

RanDawn are coming to see our progress this afternoon! We’re so glad he’s feeling better!

That’s it for now.

Good morning. Mark left to go hog hunting at 12:30. The kids and I were up by 6 o’clock and outside for their potty time. I have to tell you, at 73°. It felt downright chilly. I know those of you who live up north cannot imagine that. But, after our body is being used to 88 to 94° all summer long, this is refreshingly cool.

today is fun for me. Is finishing the white woodwork inside the house. I have three more doors to paint and then another round of touchup with the colors. The more you look around, the more you see spots that are light with paint. If you’re a painter, you’ll know that when everything is wet, it looks even. But when it dries, depending on the light, you may see some spots. Mark likens it to the paint roller leaving bubbles which later burst. Maybe he’s right.

Wednesday night at the Rascals dance, we had fun with our friends, Alan and Scott. We met three couples who we sat with and so enjoyed the night.

Alan stopped by our table … more shenanigans! 😂

Mike & Mary enjoyed the mayhem and have invited us to their golf cart movie nights.

Well, no excuses for an out of shape body as we’ve aced orientation at Stonecrest’s gym. After getting the approval sticker on our ID cards we exercised for maybe 10 minutes then went home for lunch. 😂 Caesar salad and Buffalo chicken wings!

Our lawns keeper, Tim, arrived at 11:30. Poor guy had to invest in a new mower after his trailer was stolen! The trailer was recovered and some tools but the big mower was gone. It didn’t matter we were 10 days late on his schedule as the grass needed growing time!

For home improvements today Mark is installing sun/privacy film on the garage arched window to reduce heat. I’m washing outside windows. (That’s our style of workout since mid-March when Diane & Kris announced their move.) 😅

Tonight is a neighborhood party with Alan Darcy Trio entertaining at the clubhouse. We’re starting to socialize with much of our home renovations winding down. Exterior paint is next …

Good evening. It’s been a bit of a rainy day around these parts. Mark enjoyed puttering around outside despite the rain putting in a few Croton plants. I have been painting the white woodwork trim and got the kitchen finished today and the trim at the front door area. It looks great, and I love the smell of fresh paint

We took a ride to BJ’s today and picked up some more Croton’s, plus some chicken wings for dinner. It was kind of a down low day with the rain, but tomorrow we are going for orientation at the gym, and then to a community party tomorrow night. Our friend Alan Darcy is entertaining with his band.

These are the Areca palms Mark planted around the fenced area. Once they sprout you won’t see the green fencing.

obviously, this is looking from the lanai towards the front fencing.

Good evening. For the first time we were sitting on our front porch enjoying the sunset while Mark is smoking a cigar. Yes, there are adult beverages involved.

as you can see, we have not begun painting the exterior. But, today we got permission from the POA to go ahead with our color choice project.

The Scotties are a bit mad that they are inside while we are enjoying the front. Don’t worry, they’ve had a golf cart ride tonight that they really enjoyed.

so apparently last night there was quite a party at the Lake As we received a phone call after 10 o’clock with reservations being made for a whole host of parties to come to Florida. Apparently, Sue was giving instructions to Wayne that I should go and buy sleeping bags for everyone 🤣🤣🤣 Mark and I feel very bad that we missed that wild party 😇

We’ve been watching the geese no, they’re not going north, they are the villages geese, Real snowbirds! 😍

despite the heat in the day, Mark has been working on some of the landscape. Much of it was very overgrown and needed trimming back. We bought a few plants yesterday to replace some of the ones that had died off. This new home ownership is a process! Bit by bit

Good morning. We had a nice evening with Wayne and LaDonna at Francesco‘s. The food was delicious with a nice atmosphere. They came back to our home for drinks and cigars on the porch. Of course we forgot to take any pictures. Robbie and Belize were delighted to see auntie LaDonna and uncle Wayne. Wyatt has only met them once or twice, but enjoyed the visit as well.

Yesterday, we took the kids for a long golf cart ride around the new neighborhood. They sure enjoyed it. Someday we will update our golf cart, but for the moment the caddy is doing well.

we had a delivery yesterday of a couple new patio chairs and a small glass top rattan table. Of course, they have to be assembled. I was expecting three good size boxes and got one. Well, we weren’t in the mood yesterday to put it together, but I guess today we will.

Mark has got the garage tidy enough that the golf cart is in its bay, the Jimmy is in and Kia is outside. The last items to be sorted or huge. I don’t know what he’s going to do with all that. Anyway, things like a big wheelbarrow should be disposed of, but Mark is thinking we will need it for moving stones and mulch around as the weather cools and we do some outside landscaping changes.

tonight is Yaya’s at Linda’s home in Leesburg! This is the first time she is hosting and she loves to cook! Her home is on Lake Harris.
